I never write negative reviews, but Belk is absolutely terrible. I cannot get over the lack of pretty clothing, lack of employees do assist customers, and lack of inventory. I went to two different locations to find a basic cream or black sweater and neither had it. I waited for help at the cosmetic counter (no employees!) only to find they were out of three of the four things I requested. It is so frustrating! The last time I visited the third Belk in our city I could not believe the disorganization of (ugly) clothes, to the point I took pictures of the complete mess to show my husband, and told the employees they may want to talk to their manager about it. It was unbelievable! And no help to be found. Piles of clothes shoved together everywhere on racks and in the floor. You couldn't see or find anything even if you wanted to. I used to love Belk and I am not sure what happened post covid. Why even go to Belk when you can go to Saks where things are in stock, or order online. I give up on Belk.
I placed an order yesterday from Belk.com. My order came up to $188 and some odd cents. Look at my bank account and the funds were held. Ok, so far, so good. Today I recieved an email saying my items had been shipped, but they were shipped separately. Ok, that's fine. Checked my bank online again, and they had charged me again for part of the order that was shipped. Huh? So I'm looking at the full amount, then part of the amount, both pending on my account. So I called Belk.com, and they told me this is standard procedure. They first hold the funds, then when they ship, they charge for the merchandise. Which in turn, pending 2 separate charges on my bank account. Now, this particular account, I use solely for buying clothes, makeup, shoes, ect. So this extra pending charge, put my account in the negative, which I have to pay overdraft fees for
I understand this charge will drop off in a few days, but still unacceptable. I shop online all the time, and this is the FIRST time a company did this. They either need to charge me at the time of service, or waiting to charge when they ship. Not both. The manager tried to blame the bank. No, it's you Belk. Not them! I will never buy from Belk again.
I visited the belk store located in the Summit Mall in Birmingham, Al. For the second time the same sales associate was rude to me! I'll never have her to help me again!
BELKS is a scam they have stolen time away from my family and I can't get it back they scammed me out of thousands of dollars and I had to fight to get it back these companies need to shut their doors and chain lock them because they're scams. Organized scams beware before you buy from Belks here's what they sold me a 5.06 in pendant that was clearly about a quarter of an inch scam alert do not buy from Belks and they are very racist. I can't believe they tried to actually pull this off this reminds me of (Hustle Man on Martin) I mean really a 5.06 in pendant check out the description of the necklace and pendant and tell me if you think this thing that I have here is 5.06 in in length and 4.31 in and width Belk is a scam they blatantly lied on this description and I missed out on the real sales that were going on with the gold I would never waste my time with them again and I would advise you not to either if you value your time here on this planet don't waste your time with companies that don't value yours
I ordered a Maidenform Tank, which I received today. The tank looks like it has deodorant stains on it like someone tried on before sending out. Not very pleased; I'm sending it back.
WARNING! READ THE HIDDEN DETAILS IF YOU WANT TO RETURN AN ITEM. I WAS REFUSED SIMPLY BECAUSE WHEN I RECEIVED THE MERCHANDISE IT WAS VERY SUB PAR! I WAS TOLD BY AN EMPLOYEE ON CHAT THAT I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO RETURN SIMPLY BECAUSE I "DID NOT LIKE THE ITEMS"! OF COURSE SHE PRODUCED RETURN DETAILS THAT WERE TUCKED AWAY WHERE YOU WOULD NEVER FIND THEM! I HAVE SENT AN EMAIL TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE BUT I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT I WILL HEAR BACK. OF COURSE THEY WERE HAPPY TO TELL ME THAT I COULD RETURN THEM AT THE STORE WHICH IS AN HOUR FROM MY HOME. I SPEND $$$ AT BELKS. NEVER AGAIN! NOT A DIME!
I ordered boots on January 7and was told it would be delivered by the 14 of January
Customer service have no record where my boots are so I tracked it by federal express amend they are trying to locate the boots I have bank receipts of the charge and trying to communicate is crazy I will never shop belk again!
I had a wonderful experience at Belk, the staff was very patient with me and made sure I got everything I wanted and made sure I was very satisfied, I can't wait to be back and shop more.
The worst customer service ever! I had to call so many times to get my stuff shipped and then not all of it was shipped, I had no call number of times again to get my return label! Never again!
This online store didn't return my money back even when I called them right away after place the order.
The excuse was because I took more the 15 min after place the order!
I ordered Lancome product with a Lancome FREE 7-PIECE GIFT WITH ANY $35 LANCÔME PURCHASE. They sent me my ordered product (thank God) with only 6 pieces free gift. When I contacted them they wrongly interpreted the offer and didn't do anything to resolve the issue. I'm ready to return my order and the free gift but after I read all complaints online I give up. Terrible customer service!
Today I got a notice from my credit monitoring company that one of my credit limits was lowered, turns out to be Belk, whom I've been giving good business to lately, they even promoted my membership, now they lowered my limit by $400, I'm only $40 away from my limit now, which will also lower my credit score. Screw them both! While I'm at it, it took over 2 weeks to get my last order, the package had to be returned to them by Fed Ex because the label was unreadable, ridiculous! Since my last review was replaced, I'll mention it again, did not include the packing slip with my purchase, contacted customer service and they said they would not send me a label and instead sent me a copy of my order confirmation, was out of town where there is a Belk, so decided to return in person, the customer service associate told me that she could not use that paper and I would only get a certain amount back, which was $40 less than what I paid, like it was my fault they did not include a packing slip, thankfully another associate let her know that since I used my Belk Card she could process the return through that and I got my full refund, so it turned out ok. Bought a few other items while I was there, if I knew that they would lower my limit, I wouldn't have bought anything from them again. I am up to date with my payments and have no late payments on my credit report, so beats me why they lowered it.

Somehow I had clicked on the button to receive paperless statements. The system did not allow me to change this back but the message stated if this was in error, to call Belk to get the correction. This morning I received an email saying I'd gone paperless, but again no opportunity to switch back. I called Belk and when finally getting a representative was told - no I was not paperless. I explained the messages and the email... the "customer service" rep actually told me "she could not fix my computer from there" - no kidding. I had to tell her that the problem was not with me or my computer, and again explain the email and messages - even after telling her the email says it takes 15 days to implement the change but I needed it corrected now... She had absolutely no understanding to take my information and get back with me with the correction- Her system said I was not paperless so the customer was the problem. I then requested to talk to a manager and basically got the same stupidity. They should be trained to know about this 15 day vacuum and have a process to correct the problem for the customer - it's really not that difficult. In addition, both of the customer "service" reps started getting snotty with me telling me to have a "nice day", etc. REALLY POORLY TRAINED REPS AND MANAGERS! Belk should be ashamed.
I purchased online to pick up in the store and there were two women when I got there in the shoe department. One helping a customer with shoes and the other listening to music on her earphones. YES, her headphones. They kept me waiting then the girl who wasn't helping a customer said only the manager could help and she then went in back. She did not even acknowledge my presence when I walked in. I wait even longer, she finally comes back out to help me however, I realized I made a mistake and need to exchange one of the shirts. Once again the only lady that could help was with a shoe customer, I wait another ten minutes as they BOTH disappear. The manager comes back and boldly says I can make an exchange at any register. I then ask where in the store can I get the same exact shirt I was holding in my hand. She picked up the phone to call and ask and then very hastily said where I needed to go. So I then proceed to the The Limited area of the store to exchange my shirt and find the closest register. I wait in line once again and the associate had some people waiting in front of me a bit to the side. She waved me to come forward with JUST two fingers while she was on the phone. I stood there in shock as the woman did NOT say a word OR look at me, she just used two fingers pulling forward VERY rapidly to show me to come to the counter. FINGERS over and over again. That was so disrespectful. Using her two fingers to wave with showing me to come forward and not even saying a word OR looking AT me. I am not a baby or a kid, yet a 45-year-old woman! WOW, I will never be shopping there ever again.
I placed an order. Called to cancel my order and was told I was not able to because it was past 15 mins. I literally had only place the order maybe 30 minutes ago. The gentleman on the phone told me he was not able to cancel my order transferred me to a supervisor named Victoria(id#5123) who told me I would then have to wait to receive my package to be able to get my refund. On top of being a loyal and paying customer I had another package I haven't received and the tracking site isn't giving accurate information or even a day I will have my items. First it said I would get it yesterday the 1st now it's not giving me any information. These are things that should be listed on the site but aren't. Victoria(5123) was super rude didn't even try to find a solution and her tone was not professional at ALL I even asked for corporates information and was told to"google" it because she can't give me that information. When I asked to speak to her upper management she claimed she was the only supervisor there. I love shopping with belk but they just lost a customer! Do better and train your escalations team! So disappointed!
I have had a Belk card since 1989. Recently I was upgraded to a premier Belk card. A feew weeks later I was sent another Belk card that looked just like the one I received. When I go in the store to make a return I was informed that I did not have flexpay any more and found out that my Belk card was now a mastercard to use anywhere. I told them I wanted to just have a Belk card so they canceled the mastercard. I thought everything was back in order until I call to make my monthly payment. I found out I had NO Belk account and the only way I could have one is to pay my balance and open a new account. I asked to speak to a supervisor and all they were concerned about was telling me it was my fault that I activated the Mastercard. They had no concern that I spend money at Belk every month and have since 1989. I had to hang up the phone because they would not listen to me and only kept reiterating that it was my fault. DONE WITH BELKS!!!
Come on Belks. It's almost 2020, I shouldn't have to wait 6 or more days for my clinique to come from Georgia, I'm in South Carolina! For the love of Pete Christmas is almost here.
I ordered a Free People dress in October(2013) that I wanted for an upcoming trip and event. I found it for $61 cheaper on Belk. I debated doing the regular shipping, or paying for the 2 day, since I needed it in 7 days, and I believe the site said expect 7-10 business days (please confirm that on your own, for your own orders!). I was definitely taking a risk, and realized I would have to go without the dress if it didn't arrive within those 7 days. Would have been sad and would have had to figure out another option when I arrived at my travel destination... Not the end of the world, but would have taken away time from my traveling, and would have been logistically tricky to get to some stores to find something appropriate to wear for this event. Well, I received my dress in the late afternoon of that 7th day... I had been holding my breath, and was shocked it actually came in time! I was SO thankful-- for the quick processing, delivery, and for the savings. Dress worked out perfectly. If it came in the 10 days, I would have been bummed and returned it, but would still order from Belk again for the prices, since the order was still delivered as promised(7-10 business days).
