I called bestpricecaskets.com today to get information on a casket I was considering. I woman transferred me to their sales department and Terry answered. He was abrupt, short, started to yell when I had more questions. So, I just hung up! Given that they have such great prices and an awesome website, I immediately called back asking to speak with someone else. The next woman Alexa was kind and gentle on the phone, and answered my final question and our conversation ended. However, after contemplating the initial communication with Terry, I had to ask myself, is this the type of person or company I'd want to give my business and money? If there service is like this over the phone, what type of service would I receive upon making the purchase?
I immediately began to look at reviews, and low and behold, this Terry person has been around since at least 2015 from the complaints listed here. If the company hasn't gotten rid of him yet, you gotta think to yourself, is Terry the owner?
Not matter how low the cost, there's no way I could give them my business, and I strongly recommend you do not either.
I called them to try and get an idea of what I can do and how ordering a casket from them works because my mother was going to pass away I tried to start asking questions and the man I was speaking to started to get very defensive and nasty so I decided to tell him I was not going to order from him he then proceeded to call me stupid when I tried calling to speak to a manager they did not pick up then called me back just to call me stupid again I would never recommend ordering or doing any business with these dirt bags.
My Uncle passed away and I decided that I would purchase the casket. I saw a casket on their website and decided to call them to inquire about color availability. I called Best Price Caskets and asked if they sold a particular model in the color blue. I had not yet purchased, but was seriously considering if the casket was available in blue. I was told by Terry that I could go to Home Depot and buy a can of paint to color the casket to my preferred color. The response was not provoked, warranted and/or necessary. I can't imagine how someone in the business of selling caskets could respond to a potential Customer or ANY Customer in this manner. When I picked up my phone, my only intent was to inquire about the color of a casket for my beloved Uncle. I am still in shock at the response I received. When I did speak to a "Supervisor" I was asked "what do you want?" and "You must don't have anything else to do, while I'm busy". I called the company back several times to speak to a Supervisor to get a much needed apology. This is by far the worst company I NEVER did business with and nor will I, my Family, Friends and/or their Friends ever. I told everyone to google the number and check the address. Of the business before doing anything. I will do my own research to ensure that no one I know does business with them and that includes Funeral Homes. I am a highly respected member of my community and my voice/words MATTERS!

My Mother passed away on Thursday of last week with a very limited budget for funeral expenses. I contacted North Carolina Casket company to have a casket shipped to her funeral home. I spoke with Terry who took the order. I explained that we had a viewing on Saturday and he assured me the casket would be flown out to Atlanta and trucked to Monroe and delivered to the funeral home on Friday. I received a confirmation of the shipping of the product on Thursday afternoon about 4:30 that afternoon.
We drove down on Saturday morning to finalize the arrangements. The funeral director asked when we expected the casket to arrive as we were pushing. My heart sank. I called the company only to find that they had not sent the casket. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and had some very unkind words for Terry. His comment to me was that "the funeral home had lots of caskets." We were then facing a price of 3 times what we had paid and this caused a major hardship financially.
I can only hope that this review helps some other family to be able to avoid the additional horrific stress my family felt as a result of this inexcusable action and lack of responsibility displayed by this company and it's representative.
The only reason I gave a 1 star rating is because they did not have a 0.
I plan to post this on every review site I can find to help make the public aware of this type of situation.
Notice that he mentioned that the funeral home was 3x our price. We ship 1600 caskets per month and they are all saving 3x or on a typical 18ga casket that is $3500. Lets see in 4 years of reviews, one customer said they did not get the casket. That is out of 80,000 caskets one did not get the casket. Not bad. I don't know the specifics of this delivery because we are adding this comment years later. Ok, one out of 80.000, not bad. As the customer stressed, the problem was paying 3x at the funeral home. Buy online and Save 3x and have a one in 80.000 of not getting your casket according to this guy.
TERRY ZIMMER THE WORST SALES REP A COMPANY COULD EVER HAVE, POOR PEOPLE SALESMANSHIP, SHIP MY CASKET TOO OTHER AIRPORT, 70 MILES FROM MY DESTINATION, AND CALLS TO SAY I NEED TO PICK IT UP AT OTHER LOCATION, HE WAS VERY RUDE, ACTS LIKE A CHILD, NO PERSONALITY, PEOPLE WORKING IN THIS TYPE OF BUISNESS NEED TO SHOW FAMILY RESPECT THIS CHARATER HAD NONE HE NEED TO BE FIRE! BUT AM AFRAID HES ONE OF THE OWNERS,
WHERE DID THEY FIND THIS GUY! HE NEED TO RETIRE OR LAY IN HIS CASKET AND SHUT THE THE TOP, BAD BAD BAD BAD SERVICE,
HORRIBLE EXPEREINCE WITH THEM
Never Got the Casket! -
BEWARE!
Our experience was BAD!
They said we would get the casket in time and ordered it days in advance and the morning of the funeral we got a call that it never left Dallas and we would not have a casket to put Papaw in for his funeral. Can you even imagine!
No apologies' and no refund just excuses.
This was the reply from best price caskets 3 days after the funeral:
It was a mistake and not unethical. What is unethical and you will realize it about 1 month from now is why the funeral home can charge $10,000 for a funeral service. What did you get for the money? $1000 casket and a two-hour viewing. What is unethical? They sure are smooth aren't they and they do it all with a charming smile.
We gave the casket to Saia trucking. It is a ONE-Day delivery for them but they decided to not send the truck to Tyler. NOt our fault, BUT WE LOOSE. Of course you will get a full refund.
Our guy that charges and credits the credit cards should be in on Monday. Call us to remind us so we can do it right away.
We save the public between $2000 and $4000 on every casket we sell. We sell 300 per month x $2500 savings = $750,000 we save the public every month at a time that they are the weakest.
We should of driven that casket to you the night before or early early morning. We failed to save you the $2000 to $3000 that we save others. Sorry.
What did you get for $10,000?
You make your own decision if you want to take the risk for you can see they say one thing and do whatever they want with no regards for the distress and pain of others I call that UNETHICAL.
Hello,
I am emailing to tell you about a ridiculous customer service experience I had tonight (2/19/19) when calling to ask some questions about obtaining a casket from your company. I called around 5:30pm CT and a female answered who then transferred me to a male person and we began to discuss caskets. After only a minute of talking he began to become rude and interrupting me. I would start talking and he would interrupt me saying "Whats your question" in a quick and rude tone of voice. This happened three times in a row and I finally hung up. I then looked your company up on yelp and clearly it shows that this rude behavior and response is the norm as opposed to a rare occasion as multiple reviews show.
I can only guess that bestpricecaskets.com has mgmt that doesn't care about its reputation or even worse the jerk(s) who answer the phone are the managers or the owners. Either way, I can't say how ridiculous this experience and others experiences are with this company. To think that the industry your company is in deals with people who are probably emotionally going through the most difficult parts of their lives and to be treated with such disrespect is totally ridiculous.

I will be buying from overnightcaskets.com after a very pleasant and helpful conversation with them. I will also be updated several review websites to make sure people are aware of how repulsive bestpricecaskets.com customer service is.
Thanks
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. THESE PEOPLE ARE CARTOONISHLY RUDE.
So, where to begin! I work on a show and was asked to price out some caskets we needed in art. This guy--Terry--was initially pretty good on the phone and he had exactly what I wanted. The only issue was, I needed photos of the caskets and I politely asked them (more than once) if they could accommodate. The first woman I spoke to said she would, and she could email me. A day passes and I've got nothing. I call back and was placed on hold for over ten minutes. I called back again and was placed on hold for an extended period of time.
The next time I called back Terry says that "I'm funny" because I expressed that I've been frustrated and just wanted a straight answer on the photos. At that point he starts making fun of my accent (I'm from LA) for a while and refused to let me speak. I told him he was being wildly unprofessional and I was shocked that someone (an adult!) would act this way.
How is it even remotely okay for the owner of a FUNERAL HOME to act in this manner? He deals with people in their most vulnerable time and he's completely rude and terrible. They had an easy sale with me (I was going to take the damaged caskets off his hands) and he lost it. This interaction was so crazy!
I feel so sorry with people in the middle of the worst times in their lives having to deal with him.
On a side note, he also got caught for illegal importing

I for one am glad I checked this place out ahead of time. If you want to talk to someone he has got to be the rudest person on Earth it's Terry at this place. I called this company and asked the girl who answered 1 simple question, "Where are you located". She cut me off saying I'll have a salesman call you back. I said I don't need a salesman. I just want to do some research first and check you out on reviews and the BBB. She said look us up we are registered with them. So I did and found they had about 26 complaints. Rude complaints on top of products. I also found awful reviews about rude salesmen. 10 min later after I said I didn't need anyone calling me Terry calls me back, how I don't know since my number goes out as private caller. So I decide to ask some questions about how this works buying online for future reference which might be needed in the near future. His answers were rude and snappy. Finally in the end I said I have 1 more question and he says, "You have a lot of questions for someone who isn't buying anything, but go ahead". I asked and then he said, "You asked 20 questions and have NO intention of buying anything". I did have intentions of buying from this company. I just needed to know how all this worked and what the benefits were of buying online. Obviously it bothered him so much to answer a few questions. He said his bad reviews were just people trying to get their money back after the funerals. BS. He just wanted me to shut up and buy. Just like the other's who said he was rude I can attest to that. I will NOT deal with this company at all. I'm sure there are other companies that would be more than happy to answer your questions if you seem interested in purchasing their product. Buyer beware.
This guy is unbelievable. He has nothing to do. We sell 20,000 caskets per year and we get people like this.
I contacted this company today with some specific questions that I had even though I am grieving over the loss of a loved one and am understandably confused and numb. I was transferred to their salesperson "Terry". I proceeded to explain to Terry that I needed clarification regarding a specific point on their website and he responded by telling me "Yea, I know what the website says. Now what's your question?" I shrugged it off and proceeded with my question and he gave me an overwhelming amount of information that could be easily understood by anyone in his business, but not to the average layperson. After he provided me with more information than I needed, I told him that I had another question. I began my next question by repeating a specific part of his response to which he said "Yea, I know what I said. Now what's your question?" At this point I realized that this guy is just plain rude and insensitive and behaved as if he is selling used car tires. He exhibited ZERO compassion or sensitivity and was downright curt, nasty and rude. I told him how insensitive, rude and nasty he is and hung up. I then called back and spoke with the lady who had initially answered my call and explained to her how out of control Terry is. She stood quiet as if she had heard this before about Terry. She apologized and proceeded to tell me that she would help me. While she was pleasant, I told her that I wouldn't do business with them under any circumstances. If, after reading this negative review and other negative reviews, you choose to do business with this company, proceed at your own risk. If you are seeking a casket to bury your loved one in, be prepared to have salt rubbed in an open wound.
Answer: Price shop online for the casket you want. Then approach the funeral home that you have chosen and ask them if they will match the price. Funeral homes are already making money on the funeral services and they hate internet competition. In my case they matched the price and I even avoided the shipping costs.
Answer: I purchased a casket from Best Price Caskets and the casket was of excellent quality, arrived on time, and was boxed and packaged correctly to prevent damage. In fact the funeral home asked for my signature to authorize the funeral home to uncrate the casket so it could be inspected. The funeral home uncrated in my presence and all was OK. A form then was sent to Best Price Caskets that all had arrived OK.
Best Price Caskets has a rating of 1.7 stars from 65 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Best Price Caskets most frequently mention funeral home, customer service and several times. Best Price Caskets ranks 19th among Funeral sites.
Notice this is a buyer with an attitude that did not need a casket. There is a Questions section on the website for these people.
