I bough clothing at Boston Proper. The items were stylish and of great quality and I always got compliments when wearing them
Since they became "Beyond Boston Proper" the quality of the items is very low and the design look cheap more on the line of one season item that you then discard. Another store that by lowering quality will go down the drain
I have been purchasing Boston Proper clothing for years. I was told by someone, obviously routed through India, they cannot cancel my order. My items were listed to be unavailable for months. I tried to cancel the same day. I will never order again. What a freakin rip off!
I ordered from Boston Proper for the first time recently. I ordered a summer top, formal sweater, a business-casual sweater, a "reversible" sweater, and a pair of pants. I order xs or s from Venus, and Boston Proper has a similar size chart. When I unpacked my order, I was immediately disappointed in the quality of the fabrics. One sweater had a white collar and tail that felt and looked like a paper towel. The fits of all were frumpy (models must pin theirs in back), and each item was either way too big or tight. The "reversible " sweater was just a lie. It has a sewn in tag in the back that cannot be removed and fits like an obviously backward sweater when reversed. The pants were see-through too. Worst part of my experience, when I went to return all but the one shirt that worked (btw, they make returns a hurdle), half of my purchases are nonrefundable and not eligible for exchange, because they were on sale. "You pay for what you get" does not apply at Boston Proper! I lost 300$
Placed an order with this company. I ordered a pair of pants and top. They sent me damaged pants and the top was very cheap material. I sent back to get refund and they have yet to take care of this. I will never order from them any more. Cheap clothes and bad customer service on returns/refunds.
Placed an order for a 2-piece bathing suit. The lower part of the suit was sent to the wrong person and I got their order. They didn't return it, so I did not get credit without giving Boston Proper proof that I had send back the misplaced order to me. I was told the upper part of the bikini was on back order -- eventually (8 weeks) they told me it just wasn't available. The agent also told me that though a customer may pay for 2-day shipping, that only means 2 days after a backordered item arrives at their warehouse. After a lot of calls, they did refund my money but it took about 3 months to wrap it all up. Never again.
Horrible company! Still have not received my return! After almost one month, I am still trying to get my money refunded from a return order. I had to fight to get the Fed ex label and I'm told FedEx has not returned the item although it's been over three weeks. I spoke to the rude customer service person over a week ago who confirmed after she argued with me that the order just arrived that day. I'm told as of today they still do not have the order. In the meantime, I heard chickens and roosters in the background. I question the credibility of this company and I Highly recommend you shop elsewhere. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. There are many other retail stores to choose from. Please stay clear of this company. I will continue to keep you updated on my return if I ever get my money back.
I ordered four swimsuits, anticipating that I would find one to keep and return the others. All suits were shipped at different times. After I received them all, I decided which to keep and went online to process my return. At that moment, I was only able to return the last two suits that had shipped but the first two were marked as being outside their thirty day return policy. I called and spoke with a costumer service rep who stated that there was nothing that could be done. At this time, the first two were both less than 39 days having been shipped. Shipping took too long, varied among items, and return policy is ridiculous!
I have been buying from Boston Proper (now Beyond Proper) for over 20 years. I've bought and kept, and bought and returned, countless items. I don't understand all these negative reviews. I've never had a problem. When I don't like something or it doesn't fit, I simply follow the instructions and return it. And I get a prompt refund. Honestly, I don't understand why people are having all these problems.
My items were marked sale but not final sale and not returnable. Both items I received did not fit at all and I ask to return them. After some rude correspondence I suggested that I would take credit for future purchases but even that was refused.
I was a customer for some time and do not deserve such treatment.
Boston Proper lost a customer
Beware of Boston Proper's Return Policy.
I paid $174.34 to Boston Proper for a dress that did not fit. When they processed the return, I was only credited 158.69, which meant I lost $15.65 just to try on a dress!
My items arrived without a return label. I wasn't able to open the "return" window for instructions. I called several times, different times of the day & no one answered. I finally sent the item to return address on the website & am hoping this won't cause additional problems. Very frustrating
Ordered two sweaters and the expected ship date changed 3 different times. I called to cancel the order and checked at my status online 2 days later and it was updated with another expected ship date. I called again, and she assured me that it was cancelled but it still shows another expected ship date. I requested an email to ensure that orders were cancelled. This took over 10 minutes and still shows an expected ship date. This is a very frustrating process!
I returned some merchandise with the return label Boston Proper e mailed. No return postage for me. However, the option was to take it to Fed EX or the post office. I opted Fed EX and it took 10 days to get to Boston Proper. Was told by Fed EX that it starts with Fed EX and then switches to "smart post' through the post office to complete the shipment. Totally unacceptable Boston Proper. Now I have to wait 10 days plus the extra few days for my refund to post to my account. The customer reps should just say to go to the post office! Beware if you send through FED EX. Nothing against Fed Ex. It's Boston Proper that opts to use the return method going through "smart post". Stupid and unacceptable! In addition, the customer rep was extremely apathetic! So not happy. Will not order from Boston Proper again!
I returned 3 deep ocean travel boyfriend blazers. I love the blazer I kept, but I have had to call numerous times and explained I haven't received my $250 refund back to PayPal. Customer service is argumentative with me telling me I already received my refund. A manager didn't call me back as promised and after waiting two months already for a $250 refund, I had to file a dispute with PayPal. As much as I love their clothes, Beyond Propers customer service rates pathetic. Given hardest time ever to get my refund owed to me. Do yourself a favor, shop at a store who appreciates doing business with their customers and refunds you timely without being argumentative and unhelpful.
I have spent $100's through their catalog over about 6-7 years. Loved their clothing. Now they have clothes that I couldn't leave the house in. They have forgotten the older woman totally. So few stores to even shop in anymore. They all supply for the boppers. Boston Proper has gotten a bit too sexy. Im 70 and would be embarrassed to wear their newest lines.
I bought their basic boot cut pants 10 years ago, they were great. I bought them again 5 years ago and the quality had gone down. I just bought 2 new pairs and the fabric is poor quality the sewing has gone down too. It is like something you can buy from CVS! I can't send it back because I took the tag off to wash it and see if the fabric gets softer. Terrible. I will never buy from them again. What a shame the original design and fabric was amazing. This new product is pure junk!
Found a top I wanted to order in the new Spring catalog I just received. Wanted to see what the back of it looked like so went online to to find it and could not find it no matter how I entered the information. So I called customer service and they could not find it either. Really? You're sending me items to purchase that aren't even available? Won't bother with this again. You've lost a long time customer.
I have used Boston Proper for YEARS. They are prompt to ship and returns are quick and easy. The quality of their products is excellent. I do not ever hesitate to order from them and they have great sales. I highly recommend them.
I ordered a dress on a Wednesday before 2 pm to wear to my granddaughters Christening on Sunday. I paid the $20 for two day shipping, assuming I would get it Friday or Saturday the latest. The dress did not arrive to late Monday. When I asked for a refund for my expedited expenses, the rep originally insisted I did not place the order until Friday (which makes no sense for a dress I needed on Sunday). Later, a supervisor admitted I did place the order on Wednesday but the bank didn't approve the charge until Thursday morning? (I never heard of this before but I still should have gotten it by Saturday). They then told me that they do not deliver on weekends! So why did they allow me to spend $20 on 2 day shipping if they knew it wouldn't get there until 5 days later! Not only did the reps lie to me about when it was ordered but for a lousy $20, they lost a good customer. If this company is not willing to take responsibility for its' own mistakes, and not willing to give even a little to help make a regular customer happy, then I would prefer to shop elsewhere!
Placed order, received order, had to return order because items were too small. Tried the regular return route but my account showed no recent orders. Order placed and received within 10 days. I have returned the order but my online account shows no record of order or return. I have disputed the charge with Visa. I will NEVER order from Boston Proper again.
