I have been a customer to this company for many years and have been pleased. Lately, everything had changed badly. I ordered three pairs of pants. Two of the pants are e same with sizes 10 and 12. I received the pants with quality not as described in the description. There was no spandex so I couldn't stretch them, and they were small on me. I sent the pants back to them. Later, Boston Proper has returned them to me, and didn't give me my money back. Currently, I have them in the box laying around being useless. I can't wear them because they are too small on me, so I don't know what to do with them. This is why I consider this dirty business. The people who work there aren't interested in the customers, but in earning money any way possible. All stores accept returns for no later than 30 days. You can't exactly say the same for Boston Proper. This is why I am not going to buy anything anymore from Boston Proper.
Got one star because they answered the phone. I purchased serval dresses from them and decided to return a few. I lost one of the packing slips and they would not let me return or exchange that item.
So now I have a dress that doesn't fit and nothing I can about it. Do not shop BOSTON PROPER!
I purchased a BostonProper shirt (white poplin) and paid $59. I has been 2-3 years since I bought the shirt, but the material weave in the collarband has begun to separate and fray in 4 different places. I noticed the other day that it has begun on the body of the shirt. Very poor quality! I have cheaper white shirts that I have had for years that don't show a bit of wear on them. Very disappointed!
I am a frequent buyer with Boston Proper and an item that I just ordered and have not received yet went on a special discount. I immediately called their customer service and was informed that they could not honor the discount even though the item shows just processed today and not even shipped. I told them if I couldn't get the discount I would return it as soon as I received it. That was fine with them
Very poor. Business practice. They not only lost the sale but lost a good customer.
Seams on pants, jumpsuits are not at all straight! Pucker and are not inline. I am tired of taking purchases to my seamstress to straighten them out! Poor quality and i am done with Boston Proper! Turned in to another Victoria Secrets!
I ordered a jumpsuit in a medium, although I'm normally a large. Their merchandise tends to run big so I took their advice and sized down. It doesn't fit and it's final sale
They initially offered me $15 to keep the item. I declined since I can't keep an item that doesn't fit. Then they advertise free shipping and returns. But they would not honor that and expected me to pay to ship it back. I was not going to pay an additional $15. To add salt to the wound, the item went on further sale at 50% off and they wouldn't adjust the price since it was a few days pay the 10 day price adjustment period. They could care less about keeping the customer happy. I asked for the $15 offer they originally offered to keep the item and they wouldn't even do that. Manager's name was Carin. The worst!
And I tried to return a sale item and was told it's not returnable! What? Unacceptable folks! Their prices are always very high and rarely a discount code offered. Awful! For those of you who value customer appreciation, DONT ORDER FROM BOSTON PROPER, rude and unaccommodating! Stay away!
I spent $272 on what I thought were just clearance items. I didn't know they had a "final sale on clearance". Ive been ordering for several months & returning with no problems. Final sale is only on the check out page so by the time you put items in to buy I go right to purchase & pay & I'm done because I am very busy. I do alot of ordering online every where & never come across this disception. I know Dillards has done this for years so I don't order final sale items but they worked with me the one time I didn't know about that policy. I responded to Beyond Proper to override this one time because I honestly didn't know they started that policy & they refused so I have to eat around $225. Bad business practice. I'm done. Will never order from them again.

Well lately the quality isn't nearly as great. I'm not sure why they started "cutting corners" but I'm disappointed, and sure I'll continue shopping with them.
They had a remarkable sale, and I purchased some slacks. Now granted I've been buying from them for some time and was never disappointed with quality or sizing. Well not so anymore, the slacks that alway's fit, wouldn't come up over my knees, also the metal closure button that alway's carried there logo was now just plain. I couldn't return these pants, as Boston Proper unknowingly has changed there returns policy, now certain sale items are not returnable. I'm stuck...
I'm very skeptical about Boston Proper now.
I have been ordering from BP on and off for many years and have realized never to order anything that's on Backorder. But when they recently started using their PREORDER, I jumped on it. So what happens, they advertise Preorders and give you a date and clothes never arrive. Good luck if you had an occasion in mind to wear that dress! Furious I didn't get any warning from BP.
I haven't cancelled my order. It's now 2months and still counting. I'll post again and let you know how long it takes.
Maria, if you can provide your order number, I will have our customer service team look into your pre-order. Pre-order is for items we have not received yet so you should absolutely receive those items, but the exact date may be a few days or weeks depending on the manufacturer. Backordered items are items that have sold really well and we want to continue to be able to offer them to our customers. Unfortunately, certain circumstances prevent backorders from being fulfilled such as the expected date of arrival, etc. For example, if you order a dress in spring but the manufacturer can't get it to us by December, most would not want it then so there is a chance the backorders may be cancelled as a result. We also order minimums and if we do not have enough backorders to fulfill the minimums, backorders may also be cancelled as a result. Thx
The customer service people do NOT want to help you! I had different tracking numbers on my orders and they SPY on you when you try to Email them.
Their clothing is always too big or to small and the clothing are NOT good quality.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and they refused to get one.
I reported them to the BBB of course they lied.
Stay away from this place and I am still waiting for my 2nd order ( understand about covid 19).
I spent over $1000 on clothes from this retailer on 2/8/23. I bought two pairs of the same shoe in 2 different colors (Black and Gray metallic), among several other things. I tried the black on, they fit fine, and I assumed the gray ones would as well. I put them away. Then, a month later I decided to wear the metallic shoes. I opened the box and discovered they were two different sizes! One was way too small, and the other was the correct size.
I purchased it through PayPal, which added to the problems. They can't locate your order number that way, so getting a return label can't be done. I would need to find the time to call during the day. When I did, the first person said, "you are past our 30 day return policy. You should have done this sooner. We can't help you." I asked to speak to a manager, who said the same thing. No apology, no attempt to exchange the shoe for the correct one. Just a flat-out no, and that was it. Honestly, this policy is ridiculous, and their customer service was worse than ridiculous. I will never purchase from them again. Unfortunate for both of us, because I liked the things I bought. I would have been a very good customer for them.
I returned a top because the fabric had flaws in it-it's been over a month and multiple contacts by me and they do not respond- nor has my return been processed.
This applies to anyone who is in customer service... across the board. They should be asking questions to clarify the problem, rather than give you rote answers because they don't understand, or don't have enough information. It took me twenty minutes for the person at the call center to understand that I wanted to return an item and order different ones. Wha? Twenty minutes and my call was "escalated" to some other level. I just wanted to send a dress back and order different items. Why I don't know how to do this seems silly, but I was trying to follow the guidelines that the website offered... which didn't work. This is a call center that deals with returns and exchanges. Why so hard? The website is not very user friendly along these lines. I never complain, but I'm mad. One of the only jobs a person in customer service ever has to do is understand the situation so they can fix it! That means LEARN HOW TO COMMUNICATE! ASK QUESTIONS! BE POLITE! LISTEN!
I'll never bother with this again. What a relief.
I ordered in August and one item was put on back order 4 times. When I ordered the item it was available. I was told that it took 24 hours to oroces my order and that it sold out. Really. Bait and switch. Do not order from these scammers. I cancelled and will never order agsin
I have bought from Boston Proper before and their sizing was spot on. I ordered an off-white off the shoulder top with lace-cutout sleeves. I excitedly tried it on only to find I could not pull it over head and when finally done, was so tight as if I worder a girdle around my chest squashing everything. I didn't want a return, I wanted an exchange for a larger size, but they said it was final which didn't appear on website at the time I purchased. They wouldn't issue credit or allow me to buy something else. Don't buy from this company, THEY ARE NOT REPUTABLE!
On September 29 I returned 5 of the 6 items I purchased on order *******. You received the package with the returned items on October 3. I know this as I have proof.
It is October 21 and I still haven't received my refund. Please refund my money today!

I purchased a top and wanted to return. Apparently they do not refund. They witll give me $11 for the top that I spent over $50 and I can give it to someone else. Or, they will give me a credit for another item. I know it's my fault that I didn't look at other reviews before I purchase. Very dissappointed but I have learnt my lesson. This iwll never happen to be again. I will keep and find someone to give it to. I don't even want to speak the them again. I had to give the person my order number 4 times because he didnt understand or hear although I speak perfect english.
I ordered a summer dress for my girlfriend, paid up for expedited shipping and no one can find the dress. I called several times for an update and was told to be patient... WITH NO REFUND OF SHIPPING CHARGES. There are many other places to shop- stay away!
Never will order again! Items received very cheap quality! And if you ordered something on clearance... it's yours forever. I called "customer service", lady was rude and hung up on me.
