This is the first NEGATIVE review I have ever made with anyone in my entire life. This company cannot go down hill anymore than they are now and will most likely end up closing. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM AND BELIEVE ALL OF THE BAD REVIEWS. IT IS ALL TRUE. I should have done so myself. After being a loyal customer with them for well over a decade I honestly never thought this would happen to me. (silly me). It's okay I will never spend my money with them, and what goes around will come around. The clothes are not good quality like the previous owners anyways... so a few hundred dollars loss is better than investing anymore with this dishonest company. They should be investigated for stealing from customers.

I received a gift card for my birthday. I NEVER received my items, and a month later I called to find out what the problem was. They said, oh, the item was discontinued. Um... they didn't inform me and wouldn't have unless I called. THEN they said they would refund me for the item and that took another month. THEN the OTHER item I ordered was ALSO cancelled without a notification. They finally reissued another gift card but DID NOT refund my $99.74. I have literally had to CHASE DOWN this refund. I told my step mother to NEVER get me another gift card from Boston Proper.

I would never order from Boston Proper ever again! My husband ordered several items for me this past Christmas. He usually knows my sizes pretty well. Everything he ordered, I loved and most fit well. However, there were two items which were quite expensive that had to be returned. One was a blouse which I would have loved in a smaller size and one was a dress the was just not me and it was also about 2 sizes too large anyway. So we tried to return online and his order popped up listing everything he ordered including an unpleasant message saying that all of these items below are NOT eligible for return. Every single item was not eligible! It did not even give us the option to exchange for another size or give us a credit for a return. I believe this is fraudulent. Where on their website does it say that items ordered cannot be returned? I have seriously looked and even looked all over their catalogue. I have called their Customer Service Department numerous times and their phone just rings and rings. You can't even leave them a message not that it would probably do any good. I've been fuming upset ever since. So now I am stuck with two items I cannot wear and we are out all this money. I have told all of my friends and relatives of my experience and I don't believe they or I will ever order from this fraudulent company ever again. I think there is a law which states that the company should at the very least have to give a credit to buy something else from them upon a return, but no such thing was offered to me. It's a real shame that this company has gone right down the tubes as I did like their clothes and have ordered from them in the past. But their customer service is horrendous! Don't get stuck! Don't order anything from them!

Clearly, Boston Proper and Soft Surroundings are owned by the same company - they have the same business MO (and, I did look it up - they are). I guess it's okay if you like polyester - but at this price point I expected more "wow" - the material feels like my middle school gym uniform! Read the descriptions really carefully because they charge you for EVERYTHING - with all the online stores and with COVID why do they charge shipping?

Play I wish I had read the reviews before ordering from Boston proper I also had terrible customer service and order two blouses both of which were of poor quality return them it's been over a month I'm still waiting for a refund I paid them timely I expect a refund timely called twice they're still waiting for their accounting department is the answer that I got I shop at Macy's and Lord and Taylor regularly and both stores have excellent customer service stay with what you know

I returned a shirt and pair of pants because they were so cheap feeling. I returned them on April 24th. Sent an email to customer service to verify return. No response. Finally did chat, was told the items had been received on April 25th but would not be processed until Monday which was May 1st. The returns say use their label and pay $9.95 to return the items, which was also the cost to ship it to me. I FINALLY got my refund today, May 10th and they shorted me $7.00 on the refund. I did chat again and was told they charge an additional $7.00 for using the return label! She said she would credit it back and quickly disconnected the chat. If I don't get it back I'm reporting them to BBB because I saw nowhere that said they would charge and additional $7.00. Will not deal with this company ever again. Clothing sizes are way off and the fabric was very cheap.

K A. - the return shipping fee is $7, not $9.95. If you return your item using our label, the $7 will be deducted from your refund. Our return form and online site clearly state this. You can mail it back via your own method (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) at your expense. As our website states, refunds can take up to 14 days to process. Additional delays may happen so we apologize if you did not receive your refund within 14 days. Clothing sizing is clearly stated on our website. If you had additional questions about sizing, you can always reach out to us via a social media platform and we can get additional information from our merchants. A lot of people have a misconception that just because something may be "lightweight" means it is cheap. That is not true - in fact quite the opposite.

Ordered an overpriced swimsuit bc I thought it was cute & different so I decided to spurge for my 1st trip abroad. Told to receive between 3/31-4/6 which was great-trip 5/5. FYI ordered 3/25. When checking they changed that to EXPECT to SHiP 4/21. CANCELED & won't use again! Thought it to be a good co & website-I was WRONG!

Credit Card thieves!

I received an email from this company several paragraphs long stating that 'my order was held up, they tried to make the sales transactions via my bank & couldn't verify my information, you please call the company to verify my info, and then would send out my order as soon as possible'. There was no name attached to it AND I had NOT placed an order since 2018. After speaking w/my bank were no charges, I was told it was a 'phishing' scam email. A 2nd email was received, exact same message. I contacted BP, was on hold forever and when I finally got a live person, this person wanted my address, card#, etc., I refused. He then said that 'oh, we refunded you twice and need your info. This was a complete lie, a scam, an attempt to rip off the public! STAY AWAY. ATTORNEY'S GENERAL should be on BP!

Purchased a dress from BP 6/8/22 and it did not fit, but I also did not like the style of the dress when received. I sent the dress back to BP and noted I wanted a refund. Instead of refund they sent me a different size of the dress. Well sent that one back stating I wanted a refund and still no refund as of today 7/26/22. And when you call the customer service just gives excuses of it has to be 10 days since we received it back and then they will refund. Well its been 15 days. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AGAIN FROM THEM. I should have looked at their reviews online prior to purchasing. They are horrible.

WHAT a disaster of an organization! A Christmas selection back ordered till JUNE... requested refund and every time I called it was next week! Refund was $301 and I just got a check for $44. I called and Fernando hung up on me! When I called back I was told it was MY BANKS error to say they had charged me. STAY AWAY.
They also outsource to Guadamala instead of giving Americans jobs. ( I asked because I couldn't understand the person I was speaking to)

I had been purchasing with this company for years. Ordered online, put correct address and it changed the address. Never received this order, they refused to credit my account or reorder. Unbelievable service from a loyal, trusted customer. I explained to the supervisor, who was very snippy, that I would be posting this review on line and disputing the charge with american express, and she stated she didn't care. Companies like this will not be in business very long with customer service people like this. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM BOSTON PROPER AGAIN.

I have bought thousands of dollars of merchandise from Boston Proper over the last 6 years, but they recently redid the website and eliminated the ability to search by size. NO OTHER WEBSITE is missing this time saving search function! In an age where customers have many other choices, this is a HORRIBLE website design FLAW. Are you kidding me? Now you have to slug though every item and find out it is NOT available in the size you need? This makes going through the SALE section impossible as many items are only available in limited sizes. Until this is restored, I have many other shopping options that don't take ALL MY TIME to search. My money goes elsewhere!
