I signed up and paid with a credit card. They told me I had a 7 day free trial. After I paid, they told me I wasn't eligible for a free trial. So, I cancelled. I was told during the cancellation I could watch for the remaining 28 says, and if I changed my mind, I could reactivate. That's good, but it wasn't true. I found that out when I tried to watch a show in the following days. I was locked out and they wanted me to pay AGAIN. I saw the transaction had already been processed by my credit card company. BUT on the cancellation acknowledgement email, there was a huge REACTIVATE button. Ah, that's good, I thought so I pressed it. But I found out that button did not work, I was still locked out! So, I called them. A recording answered and said, "This is Britbox. There is nobody here to answer your call." And hung up! Didn't tell me when an agent might be there to help me. Nothing! In closing, you can take your chances with them if you are a losing gambler. But if you're foolish enough to take their 12 month deal for the price of 10, at $69 95, you're probably better off to make an appointment with a therapist and find another streaming app/company that is reliable and knows how to run a business.
As a Brit living on this side of pond for 22 year was so excited to sign-up for Britbox, and was enjoying shows, even though totally agree with other reviews that offerings are quite stingy, such as one or two seasons are offered, when there are in fact more than 20 available. Last few days cannot access my account, asks me to login in and when I enter my details, says my login credentials are invalid. I then click on 'forgotten password' so that I can reset and it says will send link to my email but no such email ever arrives and I tried this many times. I called the Customer Service number yesterday and the lady told me they have no record of my email address. I told her I have been watching for last two months and they have taken monies from my account in last 2 months! She said she will give me a ticket no. And someone will look into it. This evening hadn't heard back from them and wanting to watch, called again, they haven't looked into it yet. It will take 24-48 hours but sometimes due to technical difficulties can take longer. Think I need to cancel that credit card!
I'm being charged for Britbox and their home page wants you to sign-in AGAIN AND AGAIN in addition, as stated above, they want MORE MONEY! Otherwise you won't be able to access Britbox's home page?
NO one to speak with about issues.
Bad service or should I say NO SERVICE!
Had service for 2 months and all fine, then problems began. Would not let me sign-in, said my credentials invalid. Called 'Support' many times, always said someone would get back to me. No one ever did. Then tried to cancel my membership but was told they have no record of me, that I am not a member. I told them that I had been watching for 2 months and also "you seem to have no problem deducting from my account every month". They told me sorry, they have no record of me. They had been charging my account at the beginning of each month, now I began having a second charge in the middle of the month. I then went to Amex to cancel this charge and they said I have to cancel with the vendor, but I cannot produce a cancellation letter, as they won't admit I'm a member! Amex told me that they have to honor the charge and it is my duty to cancel. My problems are still ongoing, 2 payments have been credited by Amex, but many, many more still stand.
STAY AWAY. - SCAM. - Do Not Give Your Credit Card Info
Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. 1) I had the 7 day free trial 2) Forgot my password 3) Clicked on link to reset my password 4) Was told a reset link would be sent to my email. 4) Never got the reset link 5) Tried 3 more times, was told the same thing, and NEVER got an email with the reset link 6) Called Britbox, listened to that stupid idiot talk while I was on hold for 20 minutes, and was finally told to call back later and was hung up on. 7) Called back, same BS, although I didn't listen to the stupid idiot, I stayed on the line to see what what would happen ---same thing, 20 minutes on hold and hung up on. 8) Meanwhile I couldn't take advantage of my 7 day free trial. 9) Called Amazon. They responded immediately, told them I was done with Britbox and why, and they immediately CANCELLED my free trial for me and any future association w/Britbox. I've told everyone about my experience. What a scam!
If You are going to give BritBox a try, I would recommend subscribing through Amazon Prime where you can cancel the subscription through Amazon. I Tried to work directly with BritBox for WEEKS but continue to get the run around - no results. I have been forced to open a Visa Cardholder Dispute over this. BEWARE of dealings with BritBox
It is extremely annoying to have the episode loading time after time without seeing Vera for only a few minutes.
I will cancel after my one month because thestreaming is so poor!
Unaware that VISA Gift cards are not accepted by Britbox, I used my VISA Gift card to purchase an annual subscription for $69.99 from Britbox on their website. Britbox took the money off my VISA Gift card but never gave me my subscription. Currently, I am in dispute trying to get my money back.
EVERY EXPERIENCE WITH BRITBOX IS A RIP-OFF OF SOME KIND.!
THEY SAY THEY HAVE ALL SEASON OF A SHOW, BUT NEVER
DO. MOST RECENT: WILD BILL... THEY ADVERTISE THE FIRST SEASON COMES WITH THE SUBSCRIPTION. BUT, ONLY HAVE THREE OF THE SIX EPISODES.
I WILL BE DEMANDING MY MONEY BACK...

The user interface is so bad that I seldom use this service as life is too short to waste time battling the unresponsive, glitchy interface. The content is good when you manage to actually view it.
Paid subscription. Won't allow me to connect. Keeps on telling me I need to purchase a subscription. On mobile it allows me to sign in. Won't cast to TV.
I wanted to watch some old episodes of Father Brown and BB was charging a fee despite the fact I have a subscription to BB. You can watch old stuff on Netflix as long as you have a subscription, which I did.
Firstly - great content!
After that, it's not very good... Very poor app, very glitchy, failed several times requiring re-installation. Generally annoying...
They made me think I'd unsubscribed and had now nothing to pay then I received a £59.99 years subscription bill. It's a trap and the content is better on Freeview. This is criminal behaviour.
I am on a free trial - it constantly crashes - have not managed to watch one single programme without it crashing
When it does crash it then doesn;t remember where I'm up to and either tries to play the episode before or starts at the beginning again
It's like the worst bits of BBC Iplayer (which is good) and ITVPlayer (which is awful) have been combined - hard to search in this thing. Maybe they should have gone with technology and user friendliness from BBC Iplayer - ITVplayer is awful - I guess at least that doesn't crash
It just won't play on my iPhone. It says "not availalble outside U.S."... and there is no way to contact them or try to get it to work in San Diego. Not good.
. Apparently good shows. An incompetent horrorshow of software. Set up on TV, VERY cumbersome, with a LOT of onscreen keyboard work, THEN it fails to complete, REPEATEDLY, until you call their tech support, that argues with you that BOTH on-TV setup never works, and that there's nothing wrong with it because the server isn't down. THEN, you give up and do it all over again with a computer/ phone, or such, and it won't link to TV. WHEN you finally get it setup and linked, you watch something that spends the entire show reloading repeatedly.
And THAT'S all I know is wrong. SO FAR.
A $#*!storm of non-functioning technology.
It is very frustrating to go to the site that I joined already and to find that they don't just let me pick a video but instead they make me sign in!
BritBox customer services blame the client and/or ISP for any speed issues.
I argued with them WHILST STREAMING NETFLIX but gettting no service from them that the issue was THEIR servers, not the recipients.
They stuck to their defensive position.
Absolute crap service from all angles.
I assume BritBox wants to compete with other streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Netflix. It needs a few tweaks to make it worthy of its excellent content. Worst is the difficulty returning to a show one has paused or left. It should be possible to return to the show in your Continue Watching location and to find it paused at the point where you left it. But when you return, you have to find your place from the beginning it's reverted to! This is very unsatisfactory. You may not remember where you left off, and will keep saying "I've seen this bit" and want to move on. Then the tiny button at the bottom of the screen is very tricky to find it with. You will probably have many attempts finding your place! There is an alternative: forget about the Continue Watching slot and scroll through where all the shows are listed and find yours again. There is a resume button to give hope. But, unfortunately it takes you back to the beginning of the show about 75% of the time so you're no better off. This is so frustrating, the more so because you have to fiddle your way past the show's introduction again. There should be a SKIP INTRO facility like Netflix, especially important when watching many episodes. Also like Netflix, there should be 20 second skip rewind and fast forwards facilities to make navigation within the show easier, whatever the reason. Add to this black screens with continuing audio and unsynchronised subtitles and this streaming app is way below the expected standard.
Britbox has a rating of 1.6 stars from 322 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Britbox most frequently mention customer service, free trial and credit card. Britbox ranks 197th among Streaming Movies sites.
