Do not be deceived by this fake credit card company. They pretend to treat you as a "Valued Customer". Nothing could be further from the truth.
When the chips fall down, when there is fraud on your account or you are scammed they immediately take the other side. They do not support their customers nor do they care
If you report how you were treated and if they loose your business.
Do yourself a favor and do not sign this credit card company.

Not impressed
January 24, 2024

I was wirh Capital One for years. Closed my account at the end of Oct 2023. Had a balance on it. I called twice to see when it would be mailed out. The first person said it would be end of Jan. The second person asked me if i wanted it my refund mailed. Who even asks that? Its my money and Capital One should have mailed it, no questions asked without me having to ask for my money back. I left them because the i interest is high, annual fee is bull$#*! and no rewards. I got a new card where the Interest was way lower and I get reward points.

Initially yhey they said I can just switch which card online, but today when I called they said no I have to call. I said well if I need to charge something to one card and then something to a different card while I'm in line at the store, I can't get on the phone and call while people are waiting behind me. He said well you just make a bank transfer and I'm like I can't do that because that'll cause issues for my accountant. For a bank company, they don't seem to understand accounting principles. So if you have two accounts where you need to separate debit cards, Capital One is not the bank for you.

I Tried to call customer service about my account. The automated system tells you to type in digits but it cant understand them. After saying customer service 25 times I got a woman with a thick indian accent who talked and talked but never listened and then ASSUMED I wanted to cancel my payment. WHAT? Then when I yelled NO! She said mam there is really no need to yell. And kept on talking. NEVER understanding what I was saying because she likes the sound of her own voice so much I ended up hanging up while she was still talking! OMG This is horrible and I will never use this card again!

Poor Customer Service
November 2, 2022

All of a sudden, Capitol One said my payments were linked to an invalid account. This is the same checking account that I have always used to make payments. The account is in good standing. Funds are available. They restricted my account due to three invalid payments. They said in order to re-instate the account, I would have to pay the amount of all returned payments. I paid $600 with the debit card tied to the account that they claimed was invalid. They still have not activated my account. Everything on my end has always been in order. The morons at Capitol one messed up something and they don't know anything about it. They just repeat the same thing over and over again like birds. It is a great service until they skrew it up. Once there is an issue. Nobody there has any idea what they are doing or how to fix it.

Robbers and Crooks
August 21, 2023

I wish I could give a zero. This is one of the worst financial institutions that have hiked their interest rates sky high robbing customers of their hard-earned money. I have the Walmart Credit Card that they took over and I can see why Walmart is suing them and searching for another institution to carry their card. They are blocking Walmart from making money because they steal all the money in interest rate charges. I hope Walmart will hurry and switch over. They are stealing money from customers to recoup all the money they lost in lawsuits. "Robbing from Peter to pay Paul". Scumbags and hope they get another lawsuit and shut them down!

Have my account is 0,they didn't call or tell me
I missed the payment, now I have to pay 200 in fees that I knew because my credit showed a negative activity. Never call or send a letter. I forgot I have that card because I never use it. Now I'm closing my 3 cresting cards with capital one. Worse bank i know.

Poor customer service
April 20, 2023

I was surprised when I was defrauded by a company with a fake check how indifferent Capital One was to helping me. There was no live person to talk to and I was repeatedly transferred to a recorded line in their "customer security" department. Ultimately, they elected to close my checking account even though I was the victim of fraud. When I question them on that the woman on the phone instantly became snotty with me and said that they could keep an account or close them as they saw fit and didn't have to justify it to their customers. Wow. That's a really great attitude.

Our Capital One accounts have been in excellent standing since 1997. Due to a recent ID theft, our only other credit card (department store) was compromised and our $23 payment was reported as delinquent by 30 days. We immediately reported the ID theft to all credit reporting agencies. Unfortunately, due to this one incident, Capital One immediately decreased both of our credit limits from $50,000 to $2,000 on each card! We have never been late on any payments and our credit scores have been between 848 and 850. Since Capital One makes it difficult to connect to someone to explain our situation, we have decided to close our accounts and sever ties with Capital One. Our families have convinced us to switch to Chase and Wells Fargo as they have had no issues with these companies.

Europcar overcharged me $202 on a rental in Iceland. I did not catch it (the overcharge) bec they billed me in the local currency. Plus, I trusted them to only charge me what they had promised to charge me. (Silly me.) Europcar would not respond to my calls and emails, so I disputed through Capital One Visa. I thought it would be a no-brainer. Instead, it was a big waste of time. I submitted to CapOne all docs necessary to prove the overcharge. Cap One provided inane form letters in response. I'm switching Visa banks over this.
