Extremely poor customer service is a generous review of the assistance I received through this company. I purchased a phone that was advertised as "unlocked," (with the sales invoice clearly stating this information) however the phone came requiring a SIM password, in other words, it is locked. Mistakes happen however I feel when this is the case a company should be eager to alleviate the issue. Weeks after trying to activate my phone I am still unable to use it and there is no way to recieve any real help. Decluttr provides NO customer service via phone and thus far all I have received is automated responses via email. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone nor would I do any business with them again.
I wish I have read this reviews before buying from them, they broke my phone I sent my phone in perfect conditions an iphone XR, it even had the screen protector. Then they went ahead and said my phone had a cracked screen when it got to them a straight up lie. Do not sell your phone to these scammers.
I sent two devices in to Decluttr with their extra 10% coupon. One was an iPad and one was iPhone. Both were working perfectly when I sent them in. The iPad had even been checked by Apple and was in almost flawless condition. Upon receipt Declutter stated that both devices did not work and offered me 10% of the value they had been quoted. This seems to be the common quote from them.
I had the devices returned and yes they were working perfectly and one other company that buys devices checked them out and thanked me for properly describing them as almost flawless.
I do not plan on ever using Decluttr again. They will not answer any specifics if you have a question, and in fact do not respond to any questions no matter how they are submitted.
Do not fall for any of the extra coupons or Decluttr's bait and switch practices.
I received a fair offer from Decluttr for my iPhone X for over $300. It was in excellent condition. Once they received it, Decluttr falsely claimed there was "screen burn" and revised the offer to about $50. What a great way to boost their profit! Bait and switch.
I posted a review on Trustpilot with proof of all the emails, screenshots, pictures of my phone working perfectly - and Decluttr challenged it. It's been pulled, for now. I'm fighting it.
People need to be warned. I thought they looked legit and was lured in. They are a SCAM. Evil people just trying to scam regular consumers just trying to get a fair price and resell their stuff. Shame on whoever works for and runs Decluttr. What a bunch of rip-off artists.
I decided to get a new phone and needed to sell my old one. Decluttr seemed to offer the best price so I decided to go with them. I also included some old games that I had and a 10% coupon.
Upon receiving my items, the company changed the names of one of them on the site and refused to honor the amount that they told me they'd pay for it. They also rejected my phone saying that it had a balance and refused to honor the additional 10% coupon that was sent with it. When I tried to plea my case to a manager, she was extremely rude and hung up on me. I had paid the balance in full 2 weeks before and had documentation to prove it that they refused to consider.
I've used hundreds of companies and this is by far the worst that I've had. They say they'll send my phone back, but I seriously doubt that they will... Looking into legal options.
Don't deal with this scam of a company
Do not do business with this company. They are ripoff artists. They offer a price, but then they reduce the price substantially once they have your phone. Their customer service sucks too.
I'd give them zero stars if I could.
Check the reviews. This company is known for stealing parts from phones, lowballing, and then returning with fake parts. In my case they falsely claimed my phone was broken and then returned it. Mysteriously it never arrived back at my home. Continuously sending me fake tracking numbers.
I got a quote from Decluttr.com for selling my phone to them. I sent it to them. After asking for the money or the phone for a month. They stated that they will not give the quoted price. They also will not return to me. And when I asked why 3 different customer service reps stated they don't have to.
I bought a new Apple Watch and wanted to sell my Series 2, but because of Covid I didn't want to have to meet up with anyone to sell it. I decided to try Decluttr and unfortunately did not see these reviews first. I sent in my watch in the original box and it had a white band, which was the way I bought it brand new. They offered me $65. After they received it they revised the offer to $22 stating the item was not as described. I declined and had to email numerous times to get my watch back. When I finally received a package from them, the watch they sent me has a black band and is a Series 1 watch. I have tried through numerous emails (because there is no phone number to call that is customer service) to retrieve my phone and it's gotteN me nowhere. I honestly don't know how people who are thieves even look at themselves in the mirror. This company is a scam. If there is a class action suit I'd love to be involved.
I had a decent experience with them buying some old books initially. They pay you very little, but they paid. They never paid me for the last box of books and electronics I sent. They claimed the phone screen was smashed but it was fine when I mailed it. Then they kept giving me excuses why they could not send money. First, they told me they ran into issues depositing money into my account. They asked me to verify my account information. Then they told me they could not reissue a payment and I needed to verify my mailing address so they could mail a check. I verified all the information they asked for months ago. Mind you, my address and account information has been the same for over 10 years. They never sent any money and continue to give me the run around of all the fake reasons they cannot send me money. This company is not reliable. I am sure they sold my things by now for a nice profit but never gave me a dime.
Do not ever send anything to Decluttr! I sent them an Apple watch 3-was supposed to received $ 69.30. They received it 12 days ago. Have not heard a thing from them & website is showing they are awaiting my items. However, the tracking receipt shows it received & signed for by Kelsey. Another rep advised the box arrived empty. The receipt shows the weight of the item, therefore, the box was not empty. They will not help me-they keep saying they are investigating but I never hear back from them. Every time I do a live chat (you cannot get through to their phone lines) it's a different rep with a different falsehood. One rep even disconnected me from chat. I have filed a claim with BBB.
This is a bait and switch! They offered me $227 for my iPad in excellent condition which was $37 over Apple's offer, so of course I did it. When they had received and checked out my iPad, they said it had a "green frame" and would only offer me $46, or I could receive my iPad back for no charge. I'm sure many people would have just taken the $46, but I had sent back a completely functioning iPad and NO WAY was there any "green frame." Once I got it back, I sent it into Apple/Phobio. I received a $190 Apple gift card! Be very careful when dealing with Decluttr.
Sent in my Galaxy S10 plus unlocked, and quoted a very good price. I sent the device, took 2 days to acknowledge my order only to get an offer that was almost 50% less. The device was in great condition and the only reason that they are giving is "OTHER".
I tried a competitor of theirs and it turns out the lower price they offered matched that of their competitor.
Total bait and switch and certainly a scam. Beware.
Stole the phone and sold it for parts without giving any money. Claimed their 'experienced technicians' determined the phone (bought directly from the manufacturer) was a 'demo fake' and wasn't real.
Are you kidding me?
I've sent in a few book orders to them. They reject books without a barcode, even with an ISBN printed on the back. They reject books 95% of other buyers accept. They buy things some other buyers don't, so that's why I've used them. Not anymore.
Sent in 2 separate orders 1) 77 items paying 55!
2.) 54 items paying 31! They claim 55 dollar order was missing items, even sent me a list which equaled 9.22 but they only gave me 42! 55 minus 9 equals 46, and I got 42. They are very disorganized, slow to communicate and they stole my items. Never do business with this place!
After having my sale order accepted twice, I was unable to download the Welcome Pack, despite attempting to do so several times, using two different browsers, and receiving unhelpful bot replies to my inquiries. After 3 days of trying to advance my sale and hours of time spent, I canceled both sale entries. This company/website wasted my time and is a 21st Century joke.
They state "You'll get the payment on the next day after they processed your phone." But I eventually got the money 20 days after they received my phone. During the time, I sent them at least 10 emails. The only thing they replied is you'll get an update soon, but I got nothing. I had to call them to complain and finally got the money almost a month after I sent my phone.
I sold 3 items to them. 2 of which were accepted and paid out in an acceptable timeframe. The 3rd, which was conveniently the most expensive ($1,200) was rejected but then NEVER sent back to me. Over 3 months now I have been chatting with their customer service reps who have told me multiple times (i have screenshots of every convo) that it would be sent back ASAP. Still nothing. This company flat out STOLE my computer and refuses to do anything about it. Luckily its under $5000 so i have hired a small claims court lawyer who is going to open a case tomorrow. So sad these scammy companies exist
Edit for update: I did receive my money today, July 24,2023. Thank you Decluttr and Trustpilot review page. Though delayed, I am happy to have received the stated amount! Thank you once again, and hope your system works better, and other customers doesn't feel what I went through during this process. Best wishes!
First message: There is no way that you can contact a human via phone. They take lot of time to reply through email. They say their app or online account doesn't work, so the updates aren't what it should be. They say that they paid me for my device 5 business days back, but I have not received it yet. They haven't given me any confirmation of their payment. It's been over 3 weeks since I started the deal with them, they received my device on 10th July, 2023. I had to send emails everyday to get any response. I was not updated as soon as they received my device, nor when they paid me. Today, the 19th July 2013, still no actual payment in hand, though they say they paid me last week. Meanwhile, I sold 3 other devices online with other companies, and got paid for all of them within a week. Seems like a bogus company to me.
Answer: It is a legit company that reserves the right to keep your stuff and not pay you
Answer: I go to the library and print out shipping label. Go to Yahoo mail, or whoever you use, and you can print from there. Hope this helps Julie! And YES, they suck!
Answer: I've never purchased from them, only sold, but if they're dishonest in one direction it seems likely that they're dishonest in the other direction too.
Answer: Seemed legit and were mentioned on several respected web sites
