3 beautiful starter cactus plants with 4 to 5 stalks in soil that has already started to divide at top of the hard to find Yellow color cactii blooms. New modern day packaging in heavy duty green plastic bag with each cactii in their own celluloid preformed envelope that kept pot firmly in place, lightweight, and no paper to unpack. Completely happy - I did not expect blooming size, but will bloom nicely this holiday season. Like the bonus bulbs. Saw so many bad reviews, but completely satisfied here.
Terrible retailer. Their stock was crap, packaged poorly and had to be replaced. And their customer service is worse. They may have cheap prices, but you get what you pay for. If looking here - stay away!
If I could give zero, i would, They sold me bunch of dry roots for the flowering, live plans. Nowhere in the website, there is a mention of the size or the condition of plants. I reached out to them to get my money back, they said they only replace the products if I send them the label by mail while I had purchased everything electronically. Please don't buy anything from this website.
All my plants were smaller than described, several were dead and I have to pay the shipping to return them to get my refund after I already paid 10 bucks to get them here. Half my order did not come and the number is always busy when I call. I have emailed there customer service and still no reply since March. It's now into April and still no reply or refund for my plants that were never delivered. Worse company I've ever dealt with. Even the free gift flowers that I received looked horrible. I spent $130 with them. Money lost!
Never buy from Direct Gardening. The items they send are either dead or die shortly after. I asked to cancel a second order I placed shortly after my first order (I should have read reviews on them first), but got nowhere with cancellation. Plants in second order primarily dead/dried out. Although I asked for a refund, I don't hold out much hope. As another reviewer stated--an expensive lesson but one I won't repeat, as I will never buy from them again.
Ordered a tree rose, took about 2 months to receive. Tree rose arrived not in a box but in a plastic bag without any protection. Canes broken and poking through the plastic. Opened the plastic and found a dried, very brittle and DEAD tree rose. I requested a replacement but who knows when I'm going to get it. You would think that they would rush it since I've wasted couple months waiting for the dead tree rose. I should have read the reviews before I placed my order. Stay away from this vendor. Don't waste your money!
Tip for consumers:
Read the reviews!!!

0 stars for this company. Offer a 1 year warranty on their products only if you have original shipping label. Who the heck keeps shipping labels. I have my receipt and bank statement showing them being paid, they have record of my order but I need the original shipping label for them to make good. Would never use again and highly suggest everyone to run from this company.
I paid for 6 weeping cherry seedlings and got branch cuttings not a seedling i could've done that myself all the roots were cooked from being shipped in a bag no green on any of the sticks that were sent just a shame
I ordered some roses for my mothers memorial garden. I received some cheaper plants, but not the roses. However, these bums charged me anyway and wont give me a refund. I would advise everyone to stay away from them.
Deceptive and misleading advertisement. While they display very nice pictures at reasonable prices, the plants they send you do not at all resemble the order placed or the price you pay!.
I will never buy anything from Direct Gardening
Will never order from them again. Most of the plants arrived dead. Some of this could have been fedex because they are extremely bad at delivering and I had to call them to find out what was up with my package. But direct gardening would not replace even 1 because I didn't have the original records from the package. I had all the other conformation emails. Very poor customer service. I will never order from anyone associated with them again.
Their plants show up dead and they don't honor their guarantee. It takes weeks instead of days to get a response and most of the time you can't get them on the phone. This is an awful company, one star is really too good for them.
My rose tree came shipped in a bag Broken and dead. I planted it and after a few months, nothing. They sent me my voucher but I'm not sure if I want to use it.
Poor quality, took long, not customer orientated, and bad business practices.
If I could give a MINUS 5 STAR REVIEW, I would.
I ordered over $140 worth of plants my first order. They arrived in horrible to "dead" state. They offer to replace but you have to send in original label (which I did) each time. Then they replace with more horrible plants. You also have to send everything snail mail so I always sent certified so they had to reply. I've lost money with them because you finally get so beat down from dealing with then you just give up! The last time I sent back the "fix" plants that were in poor condition I did not send certified... big mistake they never responded and I just threw in the towel! Never do business with this company!
I have now received 3 replacement orders for the 3 dead replacements they have sent. Customer service is rude and insulting, and make it next to impossible to prove they are in the wrong. This is really a bad scam company. Save your time and money, and work with an HONEST company
My sisters and I ordered $160 worth of rose bushes as a gift for my mom for mother's day. Given the pandemic and their notice on shipping delays+demand, I was completely accepting that there was a 3-4 week delivery timeframe. SEVEN weeks later, I received a notice that my card was declined and my order was cancelled and to resubmit the order. (Within that time I had debit card fraud and it had been replaced with a new one.) I contacted them asking if I could give a new cc number but they said no, I would have to resubmit the order and wait an additional 7 weeks to have the order filled. They're heavy Google ads advertising gets them at the top of the page--this is not through merit! Spend your money with a good company. Terrible company to deal with. Was told when I ordered (many plants) in September that it would arrive in two weeks. Then once I got a confirmation email it stated middle of October. Tried cancelling but they said they could not do so (even though it was middle of September) due to the order being complicated to cancel once it was made and that I should just return them once they arrived. Flowers arrived in middle of October and sent them directly back (cost me $20) with their return slip and packaging. We are at the end of February and I have yet to receive my refund and now the tell me that have no receipt of my return. Horrible, Terrible and nothing but pure incompetence company. Be warned!
I never received my online order from this company. When I disputed it 5 months later they sent me a copy of the fedex tracking showing my order arrived. I never got it and there's no sign any of my neighbors ever got it. I guess I'll have to dispute the transaction with the credit card company

I will not do business anymore with this online garden store

Never received my order
Simply put, I purchased 20 creeping phlox and one Cherokee Chief dogwood seedling. Thirteen of the phlox took. Seven died. The dogwood started off great, but died from the top down, no matter what I did to help it or revive it.
I sent a complaint to their "Customer Service" email address, and was told very succinctly what to do to to ask for a replacement. I did what they said, returning the original shipping label and a copy of my complaint.
I received 10 phlox, no dogwood, and no apologies. NONE of the replacement phlox survived. I went to Lowes, bought a few phlox, and they are all now doing well.
Still wondering why I did not receive a replacement tree, but I'm letting it all go. This was just a test, and I didn't spent a lot of money, but Direct Gardening failed the test. I'll never use them again.
I give them 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. Every year I promise myself never again. This time I will keep my promise. I fell for their advertising of a sun tolerant Fuchsia 4 dead plants were received. I complained to them, - they said that they were "dormant". Yes they were dormant as in the Dodo. I went to the expense of shipping the plants back to them with the required label but no refund was issued. I absolutely promise you that if you order from them you will regret it
I ordered a few different plants, including 2 small trees. They did come fast BUT the quality is not good. The clematis are pitiful, the perennials do not inspire confidence and I have no idea if the tress (or maybe I should call them *tree sticks*) are alive or not. Yes, they were cheap but still not worth it.
I ordered from them mid-april; still no response as to when my plants will ship; only response email confirmation of my order. Called my bank and put in a dispute; hoping to get my money back. Never again
PLEASE don't waste your money on these people. If I could give 0 stars that's what I would give this company. I spent almost a hundred bucks for a few strands of so called roots. I wished I would've checked for reviews... I don't know how they are still in business.
I placed an order on 3/21/21 and I still have not received the plants I ordered. I have contacted them 3 times. Each time I get a reply to allow 4-5 days for a response. Then when they respond, they still will not give an estimated delivery date for my plants. So nearly 2 months later I still have no plants. My advice is buy from another company and avoid DirectGardening like the plague.
Tip for consumers:
Do not order from this site.
So, I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they seemed to be the only ones to have plants in stock during the early months of the Pandemic. I bought. I waited and waited. They arrived. They looked like they were barely clinging to life. Blue-green mold all over the "free" plant roots (no leaves). Spoiled, green-blackish, wet foliage on the other plants that did have leaves. Plants are tough. I'm a Master Gardener so I tried to resuscitate them all. Nothing grew except one plant, and that one only for about a week before it gave up the ghost. They were too far gone on arrival. The whole order such a waste of money.
These folks are scammers. I received the bare root stock I ordered. One was a dead stick and one but on buds and then died. I sent back the original shipping label as directed and didn't hear anything from them for about 10 months. Then I get a $5 replacement certificate only good for merchandise. I get it day after day. I finally send them a copy of their guarantee. The I get an e-mail from from "Dutch Gardens" with a "case #" that says they are looking in to it. The next message says that they have made the hard decision to sell to Gardens Alive! With links to buy from them. Beware this business! Happy gardening.

New owners - same crap, unfortunately.
If you order something, do not be surprised if they are suddenly OUT OF STOCK or DO NOT deliver it.
If you try to change your order, or pursue it vehemently, THEN they will tell that it is too late - that the order is out for delivery. THIS has occurred multiple times. NOT a coincidence.
Plants arrive in terrible condition, because they have been in the mail for an entire week. Almost nothing survives.
Customer service continues to be awful - and billing is off.
I have nothing at all positive to say about this company.
Never before have I had such terrible service.
Tip for consumers:
Terrible service, terrible shipping.....implies huge organisational issues.

Live plants in theory - dead plants in reality.
I'm a former customer and it will never happen again. Not only do they ship trees that have zero chance of survival, they will make sure that by the time you have given up hope of seeing any sign of life, a refund will be out of the question. You are SOL. This company is a predator. Do business somewhere else.
Sells a range of gardening supplies, plants, vegetables, trees and flowers.
