3 beautiful starter cactus plants with 4 to 5 stalks in soil that has already started to divide at top of the hard to find Yellow color cactii blooms. New modern day packaging in heavy duty green plastic bag with each cactii in their own celluloid preformed envelope that kept pot firmly in place, lightweight, and no paper to unpack. Completely happy - I did not expect blooming size, but will bloom nicely this holiday season. Like the bonus bulbs. Saw so many bad reviews, but completely satisfied here.
Terrible retailer. Their stock was crap, packaged poorly and had to be replaced. And their customer service is worse. They may have cheap prices, but you get what you pay for. If looking here - stay away!
I ordered planting seed potatoes and rose bushes.
The planting seed potatoes were fermenting and the roses bushes had fungus on all limbs when I received the package. Planting potatoes were not accurately described on their website. The roses were poorly packed.
I asked for a partial refund and explained that I couldn't send fermenting items back in the mail in order to get refunded. There were no apologies offered and they refused to give me any refund.
Stay away from this business.
Unfortunately, I didn't read these reviews before I ordered. On Sept. 23, I ordered a clematis plant. I received it Oct. 17. It looked like 3 inches of dried roots and one-half inch of the plant above the roots. I soaked it and will try to plant as it isn't worth sending back. Sorry to say that on Sept. 24, I also ordered about 5 small flowering plants. I have not received that order and shudder to think what they will look like-- I'm guessing

I ordered calla lilies and canna lillies and all came up, but the calla lillies don't seem extremely healthy at this point and are not but two colors, one isn't even producing color at all, it might not be a calla. Both canna lillies came in out, but the WRONG ones. One is tiny and not healthy, and the other large and healthy but the complete wrong color blooms, it's a common yellow I could've gotten at local store. It was supposed to be a Picasso canna lily. And the other was supposed to be a large Inferno canna. It came out with small red flowers and a dwarf. I ordered March 2020 and I'm now updating my review which was at first 5 stars for delivering within two weeks and plants popping up. But all seem wrong.
If I could give them a -5 I would. I ordered 24 Crown Vetch plants. When they arrived they were moldy and looked dead. I thought that I would give them a chance and planted them. Only 3 ever came up. I was foolish not to save the packing slip. I called them thinking that they would replace them for me for good customer Service. They didn't care at all. I would advise all to never order from Direct Gardening again.
There should be an option to assign negative stars for DirectGardening. One star is a gift to this so called company. I attempted to order a plant for my sister's birthday several months ago. I've attempted to contact DirectGardening to determine status but have been ignored and blown off. Today, September 1,2020, they send me an email saying they shipped a plant to my sister! At this point I don't have a clue what I ordered and when I log in and look for orders the numbers don't match. Thankfully, I used my AmEx when I tried to order the plant and rest assured I will definitely contest and charge that shows up from DirectGardening. There are so many REPUTABLE companies on the internet so do your homework before you attempt to order from a company and stay away from DirectGardening!
This is absolutely the worst company I've had to deal with in 30 years! I mean absolutely the worst. What company in 2019 needs a shipping label to return items! I didn't keep the label and the company refuses to send me my additional flowers that I paid for. I sent the invoice, email confirmation and packing slip but that wouldn't suffice to get my flowers that were left off my original order. Based on the reviews, I think the company is intentionally shortening orders to make money! BUYERS STAY AWAY!
I ordered 2 hostas June 9th, I finally received them July 15th... In a bag... with nothing to protect them. The plants are the worst excuse for plants I've ordered anywhere online... one of them only has 1 very small leave and I'm certain it isn't the one I ordered. ( wrong color, wrong leaf edging). The other hosta is extremely small and sad looking, not to mention moldy... if they grow, I'll be dead long before they mature.
I've ordered from multiple company's online and never had such slow shipping or such horrible plants sent to me. Order ANYWHERE else... DONT waste your time or your money shopping here.
I ordered on April 24. Three weeks later I attempted to call ALL DAY LONG and the phone was busy. On May 11 I sent an email. They sent an automated response and said someone would be in touch. That never happened. The last time we used this company, our plants were a bit driend out and some survived. The ones that did not we assumed responsibility for because it was in the summer and hot, feeling we should have waited until fall to order. After reading these reviews it has become clear this is a scamming and sham of a business.
They are fradulent and should certainly be investigated.
Be very cautious with any orders from this company. I placed an order, cancelled it after I found out that I actually was ordering bare root rose bushes. There was not one thing on the web site that stated these were bare root. I have had the worst expierence with this company. I have never been treated so badly as a comsumer of an online merchant. The shipped the roses, they were in a damaged box when received. They refused to pay for return postage or work with Fed X to schedule a pick up for the damaged items. I am filing formal complaints with BBB, FTC, and consumer protection. BEWARE
I ordered barefoot gunnera manicata from them twice. After much care and nurturing, following instructions, They finally sprouted after months. The leaves didn't represent the plant I ordered. After much back and forth, they wanted my old shipping label, which I didn't keep after all that time. I finally sent a picture, told them I didn't want a refund... but to identify the plant. They are gladiolus. Clearly this website doesn't have any knowledge of plants and they ship randomly... never again.
Only ONE of the 18 plants I ordered was alive. They will not provide any replacement until you send them an original shipping label... that is a ridiculous requirement. It's just an excuse for them to NOT back their product. I've purchased from many other plant/tree companies with great products and customer service but THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. Shop elsewhere! Buyers beware.
Placed order on March 28, this is April 29still here not received it. I got a package but not what I ordered. I order 50 dollars worth of seed. Have ordered before and always been pleased not this time.
This company has horrible service. The website does not link to the call in customer service, and I could never get the website to complete my order. When I called in and ordered, I had to call over 20 times to finally not get a busy signal. The only reason that I ordered from them is because they had a specialty tree that I could not find elsewhere.
After ordering, they do not provide any billing information to you. You never receive a detailed list of the order with prices charged. I called to get a detailed order and they said that they do not send them.
One of my items was missing. When I called to get the item, I was told that I had to send in the original shipping label via snail mail and indicate what item was missing. The problem is, you have to have the original shipping label to use if any of the plants die withing the designated 1 year period.
Just don't order from them. I am sure there are gardening sites that have some customer service

I was never able to get the site to check out, so I had to call over 20 times to finally place the order. If you call, have the cart in front of you, and take a screen shot, as they do not provide any sort of receipt or order confirmation. What kind of company does that????
I ordered two seedless Concord grape vines 7/7/18. I planted them and expected to wait two to three years for a crop. This year we got grapes but the AREN'T seedless. How do you trust a company before you invest two years for nothing?
This company cannot talk to each other to even figure out your order status. I tried to see what pieces were holding up shipping and spent 2 weeks via email and still couldn't get an answer. The customer service call center can't see orders and are incredibly rude - even the supervisor. NEVER ORDER HERE - there should be zero stars!
Ordered plants on April 19th. Still not here on June 26th. Arrived too late to plant. Dead and moldy. Fedex guy said the rotten smell in his truck was horrible. Customer service was non exisitent. Did not waste the money to send back since the refund reviews were so bad. Will chalk it up to a bad experience... DO not buy here.

I called as soon as plants arrive not good condition. I was told that what bare root plants are like and to plant. When they didn't sprout called again and was told to send back. Plants rotted in the ground nothing to send. I returned lable and pkg info for money back was sent back everyday with letter no money back. I wrote back with replace item. Never got anything and now return us past expired time so will never buy from them again. Don't waste time or money in these "good" deals.
I ordered a cherry tree from Direct Gardening and the delivery date was 2-3 weeks. After about 2 weeks, I received a card in the mail and I was told it was too late to plant the cherry tree and they were out of stock. I was told the tree would be delivered in the spring of 2019. I couldn't believe what I just read. Stay away from this company.
This place is a sham and customer service is a nightmare. I bought poplars from them and they arrived bone dry. I've bought poplar saplings before via the Internet so I know how healthy saplings should arrive. These were complete dead. I contacted them. They asked that I please plant them and give them six weeks. I did as I was asked. When they remained dead, I contacted them again and they said I should have returned them within 14days.
Then I looked them up and now realize this is their scheme.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE COMPANY. I ordered almost 2 months ago. Right after I placed my order I saw some pretty bad reviews and went right back within 10 minutes and messaged them at their customer contact email to cancel my order. No response. I messaged them again the next day, no response. No contact at all from them until about 3 weeks later when I see the charge go through on my account. I try calling, the number is disconnected or something. It is NOT possible to contact someone on the phone. I email them AGAIN and tell them I canceled and to refund the money. No response. I message them several more times with no response. This company is 100% dishonest. I'd give you some review of the plants but I haven't even received those yet.
Odered the first of march and it took over a month to arrive. First off they were the size of a nickel. Tiny Gumdrops.
The worst part is they were rotted. All of them! $75 dollars worth too. None are salvageable. So I wrote to the company and they keep sending a canned email that they want me to return them to get a refund. No way in hell am I paying to return rotten potatoes. What a joke. Most decent companies would do the right thing and credit my card. I sent them 3 pics to prove I was not trying to scam them. Never deal with MygardenDirect. Horrible customer service.
I contacted Direct Gardening about the 7 dead plants. They won't do anything about this. I will never shop there again! I would give them a minus star if I could.

It took forever for my order to come - when arrived - everything looked dead - planted immediately - still dead after 2 weeks - called for refund - THEY DONT GIVE REFUNDS! - after 6 weeks - send a new plant! Why would I want another dead plant? Awful customer service - so rude. Never never again!
AVOID THIS COMPANY. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME They sent me the wrong order and it is impossible to get it corrected. Their phone service consists of a busy signal. They took the money several weeks before shipping. I spent $20 and after 6 months of complaining, I receive a voucher for $5. They never shipped the correct order. I told them I would never shop there again. So what good is a voucher? It may be cheap, but it's NOT WORTH IT! It's. Not cheap when you add the inflated shipping costs. My only recourse for a refund is the Federal Trade Commission.
They say they guarantee their plants but you have to keep the shipping label and s422nd it back to them. Plants were rotten when they arrived but no one else wants the label back - of course, since they have a record of what they shipped - it never occurred to me to keep the label and by the time they responded to my email the label was long gone. Don't buy from these terrible no good very bad people
