The worst car rental company. They're thieves and would charge your card for damages that never happened to the car. I've rented multiple times before but never had a worse experience.
Extremely rude staff, no customer service, they don't care about you and would misuse your card details and deposit. Unfortunately I didn't read a lot of reviews beforehand and paying the price now. GUYS - PLEASE DON'T RENT HERE - YOU'LL REGRET LATER. I was charged £225 for a small scratch on the tyre that existed before I rented the car. Branch Manager (Stansted Airport Branch) - Marius and the Customer Service Team now avoid taking my calls. SCAM COMPANY.
Once they have your deposit and card details - you'll be charged a lot more than the rental price. BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM EASIRENT.
Customer service people are HORRIBLE can not understand them. Lack of communication very rude people none ever answers the phone. There is never a manager on sight to speak with and some lady in customer care by the name of Stephani never put the right information on the computer and I walked out with no car or my money back. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! Pay a little extra and have a piece of mind but this place should be closed down!
Please please avoid.
This is the first time I've ever been compelled to write a review. But my experience of Easirent is so so bad that I have to warn other people.
Unfortunately, during my car rental, I picked up a traffic fine. Annoying but my fault and these things happen! Instead of notifying me about the fine, Easirent passed on my details to a debt collector company. I received a letter from this company, before I had even been made aware of the fine from the council!
Easirent's Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) department can only be contacted by email (no telephone), and are very slow at replying (they took 10 days to respond to my query asking for more information about the fine).
In the end, I paid the debt collector company in order to close the matter, worried that the fine would only get larger and affect my credit rating.
This is by far the worst customer experience that I have ever had. Please do not use them, it's not worth getting mixed up with this lot, who will try to get as much of your hard-earned cash from you as possible.
I was 45 minutes late to pick up the vehicle and was told it had been registered as a 'no show' and the vehicle had been passed transferred to someone else. They refused to answer my questions about a refund and told me 'it is what it is'. I've never come across such customer service. I immediately went over to Enterprise whom I have booked with in the past and was met with the same warm and professional approach. It was literally a £10.00 more for a vehicle in the same category even though I was booking on the spot and they gave me a free upgrade when I told them my experience at Easirent. I later heard that the Easirent reps are 'keen on their damages'. Just be vigilant and go for reputable companies (Enterprise, Hertz, Europcar etc) when it comes to things like this. I could bet all my money that Easirent probably started off as a bogus accident claims company.
PS. Easirent Heathrow doesn't have it's own shuttle service and is sharing with the hotels whilst all the other local companies run their own shuttle services which are prompt and waiting when you get there.
1. HIDDEN COSTS
They forgot to mention if I do Not have a credit card that will cost an additional 20£ just to start with for the insurance. We found out this when we collected the vehicle.
2. EMPTY FUEL TANK
We received the vehicle with an empty fuel tank and an advice: "If I was you I would go from here straight to a station! But you can bring it back with an empty tank if you DARE!" Obviously they are trying to scare people and make them put too much fuel in so they can use it after for their own purposes.
3. TOOK MONEY OF MY ACCOUNT
We got a penalty (40£) for bridge crossing, which was a misunderstanding. Esirent took money off from my account immediately (55£ so 15 more than the penalty would have been). Then they refused to acknowledge that they have received the confirmation letter about the cancellation of the penalty.
I rented a car through RentalCars.com from Easirent 12/27 - 12/30 in Orlando for $189 (Not bad right, well). My flight was delayed and the shuttle took 1hr. Tried to call Easirent many times RNA. Finally shuttle comes and when we arrive they tell all of us that they don't have a car for us and the Terms and Conditions state they could only hold the car for 2hrs. The Terms actually say that "if you don't arrive on time" they don't have to hold a car and will charge you full price. They ended up shuttling us to another rental car location which they wanted to charge me $660. I ended up using Uber. I called Rentalcars to ask for a refund. They opened up a case and told me it can take up to 20days. Well 5min later my case was closed with no refund. Don't use Rentalcars.com or Easirent (small place off the airport). Next time I'll just get a car from a trusted place like Hertz or Avis.
Stay away from this place. We accidentally left a cell phone in the car and realized it after we locked the car and dropped the keys in the drop box (it was before the facility opened). I called immediately when the place opened (6:00 am) and they lied and said it was not there. I even confirmed with the cell phone company that the phone was shut off at 6:20 am. (we were on a plane then). So... their employee went and stole the phone and shut it off (I'm sure thinking that would disable the "Find my phone" feature). Then, after calling over 15 times, most of the calls went unanswered, even when the customer service rep tried to call for me. Finally, the location told me that the manager, Matthew, was "in and out" and would call me back when he came in. As you can guess, that call never came. What a scam! All this was AFTER picking up the car, and they said we had to have our insurance POLICY with us to rent! Who carried their insurance POLICY with them when they travel. I did have a valid insurance card with me upon pick up. They also put a $500 deposit on your credit card when you pick up the car. This is fraud! What a terrible experience! Stick with a reputable dealer. Save yourself much headache!
This is the worst car rental company I have ever seen. Have been traveling for over 40 years
They are a disaster, if you have a choice between Easirent and walking. Walk!
I have rented well over 100 cars all over the world from countless agencies... This is by far the worst ever. Bottom line is they overcharged me by double after the paperwork did not match what they sent me. The agent refused to change it even though I showed there's were different then mine. After all that the forced me to purchase insurance on the car for 2 days even though my CC cover it. My Email said I was to pick up the car the morning for the 27th at 7 am and drop it off the same day 8 pm... I was charged double for the entire trip. If I was not is such a hurry to my appointment I would have went somewhere else... DON'T RENT FROM THIS COMPANY OR HOLIDAY TRAVELS.
Easirent cancelled my prepaid car before my confirmed flight arrival. What a scam! Worst ever. Avoid!
My bad experience with Easirent car hire started with having to take a public bus to the Easirent car hire branch in Gatwick which only goes approximately every 45 minutes. The bus driver charged us £3 each for the journey. No information was given as to which bus to take either and we were told afterwards that it was supposed to be free but we were not refunded. Our flight was delayed and hour an a half so when we arrived at the desk we were told that our car had been given away and would have to pay for an upgrade or wait 2 hours for another car to come in. Obviously I had no option but to accept. I was then given a car with a broken windscreen which I refused and eventually got another car which smelt of cigarette smoke. Later I realised I had also paid in advance for my original car I booked on line so Easirent was legally obligated to keep the car for me for the full duration despite my flight been late. It's pretty obvious Easirent are only concerned about increasing their low rental charges in whatever way they can when customers arrive at their desk. Stupidly this was the second time I rented a car through Easirent... you'd think I would have learnt a lesson by now!
The pick up was late. No problem, only 15 minutes.
I booked the cheapest car with the intention of upgrading. The only upgrade was a Mercedes which was way out of price range so I stuck with the citroen. No problem. Then they requested my credit card for insurance purposes. I did not have the pin number. This was a huge problem. My debit card has more than ample funds to cover an accident. I offered to pay with the debit card but was told this is how everyone does it, if i pay with debit i will incur extra insurance costs, more than twice the original agreement. So I had to contact my credit card company. Set up an online access where I can obtain a pin. This took around 45 mins to sort out. Then I'm asked for DVLA proof online of driver endorsements. Good job I have a UK licence and Internet access. They said they could do this for me but would cost more money.
Lastly. And I still have the car, they charged me 30ukp for fuel. I'm always sceptical with this stuff. I drained the petrol tank on the car today until I was experiencing Kangaroo syndrome. Then put 30ukp of fuel in the car. I would say the original amount of fuel in the car was around 20 quid.
They have every trick to make a quick buck. Cowboys. Please pay the extra couple of quid and use a decent company. These people are not trustworthy
What a bunch of scumbags these people are. I pre-paid and reserved an SUV 4 weeks in advance of my Florida visit. I called them 1 day prior to ensure the SUV would be there based on several poor ratings I saw after making the reservation. The Manager said he did not have an SUV and WOULD NOT have one but "could put you into a 12 passenger VAN or a Large car" neither of which was suitable nor what I reserved. The scumbags refused to return my money. I have since filed a charge-back with my credit card company. The POS manager refuses my calls. Escalated to a district manager who takes FIVE WEEKS to respond to my email with the same BS canned response. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE MUTTS.
Rented a mid-size sedan just to receive a compact car. Once I complained I was told no other cars were available. As soon as I demanded the money back they found a car. After 2 hours of back and forth I was given an Altima that was clearly involved in a fender bender, it's front bumper was secured by a zip tie. All I was told is "don't worry about the front, we marked it down". Upon returning the car I insisted on inspection while I am as there to make sure I wouldn't be charged for any pre-existing damage. Their response was " Don't worry, since the manager gave you the car, she will know you are not responsible for any damage. You should get a final invoice within 2 days". I alsoentio nd to them that I'm returning the car almost quarter tank more than I originally got, expecting them to mark it down. The representative was quick to advise that no credits will be given for gas. It's been almost 2 weeks, no invoice, just got charged $28 for got knows what. Their customer service phones don't seem to work, after keeping you on hold for 15 min and telling you how many people are in front of you, they simply disconnect.
As others have said the company should not be in business. I booked through CheapO air and when I went to Luton (UK) the problems started. The CheapOAir paper work was wrong and I emailed them with in 2 hours of the error booked 20/21 listed as 20/27. I explained and though other errors a new booking was done. There was only one person visually working with up to 3 others walking in and out. The main contention with the staff serving me was car in which the driver was in hospital, not answering his phone, and trying to locate the car. That is where his interest was. Eventually a car ( with upgrades not requ ested by me) was promised. Some-one is getting it for you. And so on. I had a verbal with the guy in the forecourt in front of witnesses were he said he would cancel the contract. The charge went through so I am now battling for a refund REMEMBER I DID NOT SIGHT THE CAR YET DRIVE IT. RENTAL AGREEMENT *******
I booked hire car with Easirent via Auto Europe for a weekend in the UK landing into Gatwick. There was a 40 minute wait for the bus transfer to the car hire office which took 20 minutes. On arrival the office was just a dirty room at the back of the Crown Plaza hotel. There was a long queue because they only had three people working there and had run out of cars. I queued for 30 minutes to be told that they had no car for me. This was despite me booking in advance for a car at 10:30 and it was 11:30. I was in a hurry so I had to take an Uber to my appointment then a taxi to my final destination, amounting to £90 and similar in reverse the next day coming back to Gatwick airport for my flight. Auto Europe did not care either and have refused to refund my additional costs.
This is the formal reply from Easirent via Auto Europe after 2 months:
'Dear partner, i have looked into the booking as requested unfortunately we do not cover any out of pocket expenses.
Regards Chris'm
My recommendation to everyone is not to be duped by the cheap prices of Easirent and pay a little more for a bigger name. Don't use Auto Europe either.
It took me 90 minutes from landing at LHR and clearing customs to getting into the hire car. My booking contract clearly stated the drop off was at Birmingham Airport (correct) and also stated that I was to drive through the car park barriers, park up, and then call them to collect. I called them to be told they do NOT collect from Birmingham Airport! No Sat Nav, No Map, and I then had to drive 5 miles into Birmingham to find these people in a bomb site of a car park (not theirs) and located in a 6 foot square wooden hut. Luckily my wife could drive out to pick me up - otherwise I would certainly have been left stranded. At the Heathrow office (tacked onto a hotel miles away from the terminal) there were many angry customers complaining about everything - high hidden costs, blocked credit cards, claims for damage already present, dirty cars, waiting for an hour to get a car, and much more. Me - I just paid to drop off at Birmingham airport and had to take the car to the dirty sleazy place these people operate from. I hope you read this before you book anything with them.
Never again! They were $90 less than anybody, but wasn't worth it. Picked up vehicle in West Palm Airport, but the location is off site. Waited 25 mins to get picked up with their shuttle. Vehicle had an 1/8th tank of gas. When I told the guy going over the checklist, he said just bring it back with the same level. Right. But I had to get gas immediately. Dropped of ofter 4 weeks at Ft. Lauderdale airport. Had a 6AM flight,, dropped vehicle at 420AM. Again, they are off site, and didn't open till 5am. Had to Uber to airport. Just try calling the branch, you'll get a laugh. Took 4 trys... just kept ringing.
Arrived at the Heathrow Airport. They had given us the wrong bus stop, and wrong direction hot to get there. Later we took their shuttle service to collect the car. Their shuttle service stops in different locations/ hotels etc. not direct to Easirent. After about 50 minutes finally arrived to their location. Oh My Lord they are really unprofessional bunch of crooks. They are rued, have no kindness, unprofessional, does not fallow any guidelines, rules. Discipline. Whey we requested them to hurry up as we were waiting for over 2 hours to cooler the car. Behind us in front of my two young children they were using F'' words... They've only provided us with one option to take one car for which was very dirty and coated in black dust. It was so dirty we had to wait for them to clean it little bit. The water spray was going all over my bags, family. The office manager there come down and was so unprofessional said they only have to provide a car, and it does not need to be cleaned. After over 2 hours they've finally provided us with a car, however the fuel was empty. We had to wait for another half an hour to get the fuel sorted. I have been renting cars for many years and on a weekly basis, this was the really the worse and worse, and terribly the worse company you could ever deal with. They should not be allowed to practise such business conduct, they should be shut down. They seem to do what ever they like. Furthermore be careful, when I checked my statements I noticed that they had taken incorrect payments from my account.
The place is a dump. Service is bad and dishonest. Hidden fees. It cost me 225£ for a scratch on a tire, for which i m not even sure i made. It will cost you more in the end.
Answer: To whom it may concern, This is the complaint letter I sent to those whom I thought could help my wife and I solve an issue that we found to be Very troubling. It involved an employee at the Jacksonville Easienrt, specifically the manager named Franky. Priceline Booking Number 202-281-644-38 Easirent Reference Number 1863754 Easirent Wally Park, Jacksonville, FL airport We went to pick-up our rental on February 15th, 2020 and had all the information we were told to bring (credit card, drivers license). The young man, Franky waiting on us, informed us we needed proof of our auto insurance which we did not bring because we were not asked to bring it. When we challenged that he informed us that local rules can require them to ask for proof of insurance. We have Erie Insurance and at this time on a Saturday they are closed and not open on Sunday. The manager, Franky, said we couldn't have the car without proof of insurance. We told him we would call and give them that information on Monday and he said ok. Then he blindsided us about the in-kind coverage on our credit card which we thought we had but would check with Bank America, his response made us feel threatened and also taken advantage of. Again, none of this was mentioned on any of the documents. It was hard to understand Franky at times which only made the situation worse so my wife took over. Once again, we were told we couldn't take the car without the proof of insurance, which also was never mentioned on the paperwork. My wife explained we would call them on Monday with the information so the charges that we paid extra for, would be taken off once that information was given Franky and that would be ok. We signed off and waited for the car, which was not what we asked for. It looked like the worst one on the lot and the windows were very dirty and very hard to see out of the windows because of the stickers on the side window. On Monday, as promised., we called Erie to get the information for our insurance and also Visa to make sure we had the in-kind benefit. Both of these services were to be taken off our bill once the information was suppled. Called 1-888-901-5121 on Monday the 17th twice, once busy and 2nd time hung up on after we told them we were calling with the information they needed. Called again Tuesday the 18th and kept getting busy signals. Not only was this a terrible experience initially, but customer service once they knew why we called, decided to hang up and not answer the phone after they saw the number. Thankfully, the return went smoothly and very glad the person who waited on us was helpful. The rep at the desk upon return, Dasha, informed us that all she has to do is ask for proof, if not available then it would have been accepted, that being two adults in there 70's would have insurance.
Answer: I want someone on the phone from Easirent to explain to me why they aren't the fraud they clearly are...
Answer: They tried to charge me an extra £120 on arrival to upgrade as they'd run out of cars of the booked class. Argued and argued but they only threatened to call the police to remove me from their office. Had to pay £55 for a taxi and wasted an hour and a half.
Answer: Depends on the size but i was about £27 each for just a 2 day car hire. And i had to fit them both myself! What a company.
