Dishonest
March 3, 2017

I have rented with easirent at least 5 times in the past year or so from two of their London airport branches
The ONLY reason I have gone back in the past is because they are cheap.

Their service is awful and every time you rent they will find a way to bully you into paying more.

Upon arriving at the Glasgow High Street branch the gentlemen behind the desk started the usual process by trying to get me to add an additional driver. I had to point out that the person with me didnt have a license for him to stop.

I provided my licence and proof of address. Same license and proof of address type document I have used all other 5 times I rented from them. I was told he had to call customer service as my license is in my maiden name and proof address is in my married name.
The gentlemen then informed me after his call I was unable to rent from them. As I could steal the car...
I pointed out that this has never been a problem. Not any of the other 5 times have I ever been questioned.
His response was he was doing his job.
After going back and forward the gentlemen told me (with a huge smirk on his face) he would give me the car for £230.00 versus the £39.91 I paid online.

At this point I decided I to walk out. I appreciate terms and conditions are in place for a reason however if you are prepare to "bend" the rules for for money - then you are being dishonest!

I called customer service after I left, spoke to a lady that wasn't very friendly who pointed out to me that even if I did pay more I couldn't have the car.
So I would be really interested to know what is the actual policy? And do the rental agents get commission if they manage to bully more money out of you.

I jumped online and reserved another car with Sixt. Their location is very convenient right by Glasgow City Central.
Within 30mins of making my new booking I was driving out of Sixt car park. I paid £67 and I got a much nicer car then what I have previously rented with easirent.
The gentlemen that helped me at Sixt was also extremely helpful and made us feel welcome in their office.
Sixt has gained a regular customer!

Using Easirent was the worst decision we made on our Scotland trip. Upon reserving the car, we opted for the FULL COVERAGE insurance that included tire damage. We were thankful that we paid for this insurance when we ran into some sharp rocks on the side of a winding road on our way to Glasgow. The tire shop we were sent to told us that they were able to fix the tires and the wheel, but Easirent decided they wanted send the car to Aberdeen to get fixed. They seized the car from us and told us we could no longer have the car because the accident was "driver negligence". It was NOT negligence... it was an accident. And we paid to have coverage for ALL accidents. How can you claim to provide your customers with FULL COVERAGE insurance, and then when something happens say that it was "driver negligence" so you have to no longer provide your PAYING CUSTOMER with your services?

We were left stranded in a small town somewhere in Northern Scotland with no idea how to get to where we needed to go. How can a rental car company strand two young ladies in the middle of a foreign country?

The worst part of all of it was that they ended up charging me the extra cost to fill up the gas tank. It ended up costing me almost $200 for fuel through Easirent. How did they expect me to fill up the tank when they took the car away from us unwillingly? When I FINALLY got a hold of customer service (after almost 3 weeks of waiting for a response), they told me that they cannot reimburse me for that charge.

We had to spend at least $200 on extra train tickets and transportation after they left us stranded. And now they won't even reimburse me for the fuel costs? It's unacceptable.

We booked a car through the web page of rentalcars.com in Heathrow airport (Sheraton skyline office).
- We waited in the counter for 30min to be attended. In the meanwhile 3 customers were informed that due to a failure in the rentalcars webpage they overbooked and didn't have enough cars. By then they started to give numbers to the customers, in order to have a car a soon as they were returned by other customers.
- More customers came in having the same problem. One of them complaint about them doing it every now and then every weekend. And according to more reviews I have read now, it seems to be true.
- We waited for two hours in the office for a car to be returned so we could rent it. When our car arrived after filling in all the paperwork we tried to pay the deposit with the debit card we did the booking. They said it was impossible for us to do the payment with a debit card "it was written in the clauses of the rental". That is strange because I haven't had any problem doing so, not in UK neither in any other country in Europe I have rented a car.
- They said that if we paid an extra of 26 pounds we could pay with the debit card!
- We refused to pay extra and said we didn't want to go ahead with the renting process. They left us alone and started with the next customer. We had to call their attention again in order to cancel the rental. All of this in the middle of a chaos with customers and staff shouting to each other and being almost impossible to hear or talk to the person behind the counter. While doing this two girls in the same situation than us took the scam of paying almost double the price of the rental just to be able to pay with a debit card.
- During the process we felt totally ripped off, disappointed, frustrated and mistreated by the staff.
- Here is some advice: Don't rent with them, is an unprofessional company that tries to scam you. Even when you find it is a good deal at the end it will be more expensive than any other option plus the pain in the axx of having to deal with rude staff.

Upon arrival from MCO we were shuttled to the rental location I signed in and stood on line for about five minutes there was one person in front of me and the attendants had two customers they were dealing with. When Moe called me over to the counter i gave him proof of insurance license and debit card, because my insurance company is from newb jersey it wasn't one he was familiar with so we called to verify my insurance though I have full coverage insurance for my vehicle at home it did not cover rental cars for pleasure as the agent stated, Moe went and spoke with his manager and they worked with me they accepted my insurance and we added collision insurance from the rental company for literally a few extra dollars he also gave me a break on the E-z pass and knocked off a few bucks off of that.
He asked how many people were with me I told him at the moment there was 4 of us but my sister would be flying in later in the night he was so sweet that he upgraded my vehicle with no extra cost. His customer service was absolutely impeccable I am so appreciative to Moe he was super nice and really looked out for me and my family.
We haven't been to Florida since 2013 we tried planning a trip last year in July but the pandemic was still raging so we cancelled but thank goodness so far everything has been good. Thank you to Easirent for making my rental experience a smooth ride we are truly grateful oh and btw they're prices are outstanding they are beating all the competition my deposit was dirt cheap in comparison to Dollar, enterprise, Alamo and budget they were asking for a ridiculously high deposits almost triple the amount of a small car it was way too much.
Go check them out if your planning a trip to the Orlando area trust they will not disappoint. Thank you Moe and thank you Easirent I appreciate you my family appreciates you trust this will be my go to anytime I travel to Orlando. Moe you rock my friend thx once again.

Booked with Expedia.ca for rental in Dublin.
Waited more than 1.5 hours for shuttle pickup from the Dublin airport. The driver was just driving around (along with hundreds other cars) with absolutly no sign saying Easirent. He approached and asked "Are you waiting for me?" as if the whole world was supposed to know that he was the Easirent shuttle driver... The shuttle was a regular minivan.
Rental office very small with tens of travellers piling up over the desk. Had to wait another 45 minutes there.
They tried to force me to buy insurance although I had a letter from the credit card company saying that I am covered in any contry in the world. Eventually they allowed me to get the car without insurance (but made sure to tell me that I would be resonsble for the full value of the car up to 65,000... for a car worth no more than 30,000).
The 7 passenger car I got was damaged, full length scratch on the driver side (both doors, wings, etc.)... obviously form a previous accident. I made sure they recorded all the damages to the body of the car on the condition report... Too bad I did not take pictures of the full car. There were scratches on the front wheels, which I did not pay attention to (as I was busy recording damages to the full body). When returning the car they charged 270 EUR for the scratches on the front wheels... No point in arguing with them (as they would not take me to the airport if I did not sign their papers).
Expedia and I tried numerous times to ask for the previous condition report (that would show the full damage from the accident), but no replies from the Customer Service department (probably non existent).
You would think their prices are lower, but in the end you end up paying much more than with the other companies.
Stay away from Easirent!

HORRIBLE!

Very rude person in the name of PETER, supplied numerous lies, blaming the customer for the company's mistake and cancelling a confirmed reservation without giving a coherent reason, 6 hours after car should have been picked up.

Long story:
Confirmed a reservation over the phone a week in advance. Everything is OK and ready to go according to the representative.

Received a call on the morning of rental, asking for additional information that was not mentioned before.
Later Charlie the representative (which was fair to deal with) said that the booking must be on another person details. This was explained as discrimination due to the country of origin.

After changing the reservation under another person, they've asked for various documents to be supplied (license scan, 2 x proof of address). Although we were already on the go, we did manage to come up with these.
It took the company hours to process these documents to say that the 3 proof of address are not sufficient.

Over a phone conversation with Peter who blamed us for not supplying these documents the previous week (while they only asked for them on the morning of the rental), he wasn't willing to explain why the 3 proof of address supplied were not sufficient - saying it's a company secret how they evaluate it.

He then continue to blame us on random things, most of which had nothing to do with the rental - such as blacking out sensitive information. He continued to say that we have no privacy and that he intend to cancel the rental - again without explaining the reason.

Not only was Peter very rude, discriminating and aggressive, he lied about several points such as what the law is, about his colleagues not being able to speak with us and he being the last and only point of contact.
He lied and concealed the reasons for cancellation.

We've lost business due to the rental being canceled on the day.
We spent half a day trying to comply to all their requests, on the illusion the rental will go ahead later than planned.

HORRIBLE COMPANY to deal with.
HORRIBLE personal experience.
Bigotry experience from Peter (Charlie, the other representative was reasonable).

Please do not deal with - to not help awful companies that step on customers like that.
There are other choices in similar price range, or if you are not super tight on budget, it is worth the extra £10-£15 for the bigger companies.

I booked a car rental for London Stansted through Sunny Cars (paid at the time of booking), unaware that this was in fact an Easirent rental. The voucher received from Sunny Cars clearly states that the rental price includes insurance cover. Upon arrival in Stansted I travelled to the car rental village by shuttle bus only to discover that there was no Sunny Cars or EasiRent desk there. I then called the telephone number given to me and was asked to wait outside for collection. I did so in freezing night-time temperatures with my wife and young daughter and approximately 20 minutes later a car arrived and brought us to a relatively remote location (a further 10-15 minutes away) in a small industrial estate. I was then asked to put an additional charge of 151.97 (126 pounds sterling) on my credit card and my understanding was that this was a security deposit which would be fully refunded upon return of the car in perfect condition with a full tank of fuel. The car was returned in perfect condition with a full tank of fuel! Upon receipt of my credit card statement some time later I realised that this sum has not been refunded. My wife called EasiRent head office and was told that since this is a third party rental agreement the additional cost (3 times higher than the original rental cost!) is an insurance charge! This represents an extreme case of misleading if not downright fraudulent activity as the car rental cost 213.97 instead of the 62 advertised (4 times higher than the cost at which we booked the car!) I have rented many cars over the years and this is the first time such a scenario has arisen. May I also say that the service representative my wife spoke with in EasiRent was most unhelpful and verged on being rude. He continuously asked her what her problem was!?! I contacted Sunny Cars who opened an investigation' and came back to me over 3 weeks later to say that the credit card I had used to book the car with did not work for the deposit and that I had signed off on the additional charge of 151.97 as an additional insurance' and would thus NOT be refunded. At no time was this made clear to me. The credit card in question is a corporate American Express card so to claim it did not work' is ludicrous. Also it was not made clear that this 151.97 was non-refundable. I was led to believe that it was a deposit which would be refunded upon return of the car. Sunny Cars claimed that I had opted' to go with additional insurance' and that for this reason it would not be refunded. This is untrue!

I am most dissatisfied with the outcome of this entire experience and feel I have been conned out of 151.97 by EasiRent/Sunny Cars. Scamming customers and/or working in partnership with a dodgy business entity is no way for a reputable company to conduct their business affairs! I would advise potential customers to stay away from these shoddy operators!

Ordered through expedian a luxury car at 56 quid
It was meant to be a merc e or c class
Ordered to take daughter to her prom

Wow, 56 quid for a merc I thought,,
Read all terms, said you would have to fill back up car... and that general insurance cover included

Went to pick up car a cple of hrs before her prom... not a merc, oh no... a black volvo suv...

How is that like a merc?
Some chump, im guessing manager, said we should of rang and specified it was for a prom?

I said, we trusted that if we ordered a merc, we would get one, and how is a volvo suv similar, or luxury

Was told, take it, or leave it...

Now, the only person that was good, was the general dogsbody, that washes cars ect... said we dont keep mercs here, they have to be ordered in... and your car is in transport, but its not a merc?

We were not the only person... another lady was having the same issue...

Wrong car...

And on top, they charge 95 quid for fuel? For one day? Where we going to go in one day,, scotland? And back?

Plus 41 quid for cover?

And yet it states that we are covered

The car was filthy, we had to wipe it, as dusty on outside, inside, looked liked a bunch of toddlers had been let loose with food?
As on the seats lots of crumbs ect... and a scrape mark on the boot... and a 2018 model.

I think the manager and staff use the cars for their personal use by the looks of it...

NEVER EVER CONSIDER USING THESE PEOPLE
GO TO THIRFTY< HERTZ. Or somewhere known, pay the extra... seriously, as you get extras here on top anyway...

Of course we didnt want to take the car, and my daughter was in tears, as all friends turning up in posh cars, and she in an suv...

Thanks easirent, for hurting my daughter,,,,,

The directions when landing in Ft. Lauderdale to have the Eadirent shuttle pick you are very unclear.
We went to the designated waiting place and called the phone number provided. I calked for 40 min. With no one even answeribg their phone! I finally got theough and they said they'd have the shuttle there in 15 min. We waiting 35 more min. In the hot sun as other ahuttles fir other car rental places came and went multiple times.
In the shuttle I had no seatbelt! It was broken and covered with duct tape!
We reserved a 'premium' vehicle. The guy at the counter told us it wasn't there and that if we upgraded to premium he could give us a vehicle now.

I told him that we had ALREADY reserved a premium vehicle and showed it to him from the app on my phone!

When we reserved it, I also paid the extra $50 for extra coverage (even though our insurance co. Told us that the full coverage insurance we have would be fine). That didn't stop him from hard selling THEIR insurance package. Be prepared with all your proof of insurance or they will insist you buy into their plan. Thankfully, we have great insurance and a quick phone call and they forwarded our paperwork right to my husbands husband's phone.

They will then try to convince you to buy a $75.00 toll pass. YOU DO NOT NEED IT.
In fact, all we did was program the google maos on our phobe app to "avoid tolls." No problem and it really didn't take us out if our way at all. In fact, at one point I was curious if there was a time difference to one location we were trying to get to and tried it both ways on my phone. No difference at all.

Also, if you have an early return flight, as we did, be prepared to schedule an Uber or Taxi in advance to take you back to the airport.
We are still waiting for the $500 deposit to be returned to our credit card. It's only been 7 days though so Ill give it another week before I start calling people.
I'll let you know if we have trouble getting it back.

AVOID
January 18, 2020

AVOID - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

The worst car hire company I have ever had to deal with! They appear cheap but make up the difference by either upselling you further insurance when you pick up the car (which they do in a very pushy manner), and if you don't take out the additional insurance, by charging you for damage to the car, even if you did not do it. Another way they try and scam money out of you is to sell you the full tank at a 'discounted' rate. The rate they quote is much less than the rate that you can buy fuel in a local station, however, they charge for many more litres than the tank can actually hold, so avoid this also.

I picked up a vehicle from their Dublin office at 5pm at which point it was dark outside. When I collected the car the agent told me that there was no record of any damage on the car and it was my responsibility to tell him what damage was on the car so that it could be marked up on the record sheet. This was almost impossible to do as the car was black and I had to inspect it outside in the dark with no additional lighting. Even in these conditions I could see that the car was heavily damaged pretty much all over and the record sheet was covered in damage locations by the time I had finished looking at the car. The agent agreed with all the damage indicated, even though a few moments before he said there was no record of any damage on the car!

As soon as it was daylight (9am the next morning) I took pictures of the car to have a clear record of the damage.

When I returned the car the agent (female with blond hair - the rudest and most unprofessional agent I have ever had to deal with) looked at the marked up sheet and then went to inspect the car on her own. She then came back to tell me that there was a dent in the only location that had no marked damage on the sheet. I looked back through the photos that I had taken the next morning in daylight and yes there was a dent visible in those photos, but this was not considered suitable evidence for easirent and they charged me for damage to the car and an extortionate admin fee on top.

So I would just AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
