AVOID at all costs
July 16, 2016

This is not a respectable car rental company. They are a scam! If you have booked and prepaid, they will try to avoid giving you a car on the day (for any possible reason) and refuse to refund you, and if you end up taking a car from them they will rip you off upon returning it. Although they may seem cheaper when you search online, when you turn up to collect the car you end up paying for the fuel and authorising £1250 on your credit card or paying for no excess, and things just add up. Employees are rude and seem more of a rough aggressive bunch than "professionals"!

I have rented cars many, many times in the UK and around the world, from companies like (Sixt, Enterprise,...) and I've never had any issues. I made a MISTAKE and decided to try Easirent Edinburgh Airport. Their office was not with the rest in the car rental centre at the airport, it was a shed in a parking lot 10mins bus ride away from the airport. I had my passport, 2 proofs of address, a credit card, a debit card, an international driving license (in English), and a prepaid booking. Despite that, when I got there they refused to give me a car (small automatic) because my license does not detail any "restrictions". This is the same driving license I've always used everywhere else. And when I asked for a refund, he said he cannot guarantee anything and advised me to e-mail customer. *******@easirent, which I did 9 days ago and no reply. I was not the only unhappy customer in the office that day, everyone seemed to have a problem.

They cost me a lot of time, effort, and money. A total inconvenience.

AVOID AT ANY COST

Feeling Duped
July 27, 2017

I have rented from Easement Heathrow Airport a few times and had good cars and good service. But...

Following a rental they will send you link to review, and for doing so they will provide you with a promotional offer - like £5 off your next rental or free extra diver etc.

I had a long term rental so the extra driver offer was very attractive and would have saved me over £270. I got to the desk outside normal hours and the lone guy there was unable to deal with this offer - after making several phone calls etc. Having just come off a long-haul flight, spending 40 mins at a rental desk was the last thing that I wanted! Eventually I was asked to pay for the extra driver and ring customer services during office hours to claim a refund.

I rang and the customer services and the rep. Said that to get the refund I would need to send them a copy of the offer e-mail, survey and survey confirmation (even though I presented all of this at the rental desk). I did what was asked, however over 4 months later and 6 e-mails and 2 calls still no refund.

To renege on an offer is dishonesty in my book, however, it is the scant regard to customer service after the event that this company exhibits that has really rilled me. My last e-mail to Customer Services was the 20th June 17 - no one responds!

Pick this company on displayed price only - forget about their offers.

Searched for a rental car at Orlando Internal Airport for a trip, it didn't mention it was not a airport pick up and so not 24 hours service, but need to shuttle out of the airport to the pick up the car.
Flight got delayed and when I reached the airport, I realized they are not inside. Called the rental customer service number, the automated service asked me to wait in the shuttle pick-up area. After waiting over 30 minutes, I asked some other shuttle pick services folks and they mentioned Easirent closes by 1 am. I then realized they have specific timings for pick up as well.
Called up next day to find out my rental care reservation was cancelled and I was charged a no-show fee. Contacted Priceline and was told nothing can be done, try to work out with the rental car directly. Contacted the rental car, the lady mentioned she spoke to the manager and she can honour the old rates to me, I figured that was still acceptable. I called up again to confirm my pick-up time, someone else mentioned the price was twice now and for a different car, and at this busy time verbal commitments can't not be fulfilled. She wasn't willing to discuss any other rental car options (and I understand might have been all booked) but put the phone down abruptly after mentioning I can look for options elsewhere.
So the whole experience cost me no-show fees, cab from the airport to hotel and new rental car location, at last moment price!

The cars are not located at the airport, one must phone to be picked up. This was very inefficient and slow. Then I waited in the office while one member of staff dealt with an irate customer and the other repeatedly answered the phone even though there were waiting customers. Finally I was served and was offered insurance that would have doubled the rental cost. After being offered two un-roadworthy cars one with bald tyres and one with a loose wing mirror with no back and all the electrics exposed. When I suggested that rain might cause a problem I was told that it was not going to rain in the next few days. The mirror was flopping around and I refused the car. In the end I did actually get a good car (the 3rd one I was offered).
Returning the car was extremely stressful. I was not told that the car had to be returned to a different location. When I eventually found this return location (not easy) the office was closed and there was a group of very anxious customers. Someone arrived from the rental company to process the returns and was rude and unhelpful. There was no bus to take passengers to the airport. By the time it arrived people (including me) were panicking. I would not recommend this company. Pay a bit more and avoid the stress.

Manchester, UK location

Please use the utmost caution if renting from this company as other locations may be different. As the office is located offsite (drivers pick you up from Airport) we thought this might be the reason why the price was reasonable, less cost for company. Upon picking up car at night we were to inspect vehicle in the dark... a little difficult to do but now we know why they were so quick to do so. The next day I quickly looked at the car and no major issues and upon return ensured that again nothing was damaged. However upon their inspection on return a slight mark, barely visible, was found after they constantly rubbed in one location 3x times to be exact (a little suspicious). They explained "we will get back to you by email" even though we wanted to know exactly what was going to happen. No clear answer provided. That evening on our flight back home, a charge went through our credit card for several hundred pounds and a few days later a notice was sent of what the expected cost of damage- charged prior to informing! After several emails and phone calls no resolution was made.

We rent vehicles several times a year and never once had issues. Even had an incident where another car scraped the side of our rental and fortunately witnesses saw it and gave us the license details and we provided this to the rental company and they said not to worry! This was through Eurpocar.

To save you from possible frustration on your holiday use a trusted rental agency!

This is a rip off company
September 19, 2018

First off they are slightly cheaper but aren't based in Southampton Airport - It takes at least half an hour to be picked and you need to be bussed to an industrial estate a few miles away. You need to put down a £95 fuel deposit, and a further £1250 deposit if you don't take their insurance. This was not made clear while booking with them. The car I was given was tatty and had lots of scratches. I made a point of going round the car with the Easirent guy. I hired the car for just 1 day and I was very careful with it. Like a lot of people here they found a small scratch "that wasn't there before", which I'm pretty certain wasn't true. This cost me £210!

I think this companies business model is to rip customers off by claiming their vehicles have been damaged - you only need to look at all these other reviews to see these are not isolated incidents.

The daft thing about this business model is they destroy any chance of repeat business, and jeopardise their relationship with companies like Expedia who suggest using them whilst booking flights.

I reserved a car in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after my flight arrives 9:40pm. My flight was delayed and didn't get in till 1am. When i called Easirent after landing the recording says wait for shuttle every 15 minutes. Waited till 2am no shuttle only to find out (from another rental company) that Easirent closes at 10pm. Lucky I got a car from Hertz. When I get home I see Easirent charged my CC $56.26USD. I tried calling 10x to complain and no one would answer phone. Expedia couldn't get my money back and just said "sorry." The Easirent contract says fees if cancelled in less than 72 hours --- but how am I supposed to know my flight would be late 72 hours beforehand? This company is a fraud, a scam, DO NOT USE! I am waiting now for my bank to cancel the CC payment.

I traveled to Tampa Bay due to my brother being in serious condition and on life-support. I initially rented the vehicle for $26.69 per day for two days. Due to my brothers condition I needed to extend the rental by two days. I was horrified to find out that they took advantage of my situation and charged me $200 per day for the two extra days I needed the vehicle. I called corporate and the rental location directly. They could care less about my situation and refused to make any adjustments on the daily charge. To top it off this location is not even at the airport, we had to drive several miles to pick up the car. We had to wait for over an hour for a vehicle because there was not one available. They also try to upsell me on insurance and a toll meter for $20 per day. When I returned the vehicle I told as many consumers as possible who were waiting for their vehicle about my experience and to be aware of the scamming. I will continue to spread the word about how terrible of a company it truly is. I would rather walk to my destinations than ever do business with this company again. I would give it to zero stars but that was not an option.

Fraudulent
March 25, 2019

Renting started out ok but after return we found a 50.00 charge for fuel that we were not supposed to pay. We had a photo copy of the slip signed by the manager saying bring it back on empty. We still had a payment pending for $50.00 dollars for fuel. Vehicle had a half of tank when we returned it. It was a Dodge Caravan. I don't think it holds that much fuel anyway. When we called to question the charge, we were handled by a woman named Christine who was very rude and put out that I would question the charge. She tried to tell me they had to wait for corp. to reverse the charge. I requested the phone number for corp and she told us she didn't have it. She said she texted the girl on her private cell phone. I looked up the number for corp but after several rings the tone changes and phone never gets answered. They ate the crooks that alot of the reviews indicate. Stay as far away from them as possible. They also wanted.to make photo copies of our credit card as well as run it through the machine. I rented a car through ArgusCarHire to be fulfilled by Easirent at Manchester Airport. The rental included Third Party liability, Theft Protection and CDW. Additionally I had a letter from my Credit Card stating that they provided CDW, LDW and Theft protection coverage. Yet at pickup, Chad told me that I had none of the coverages despite the fact that the Rental voucher contradicted that. He said that he could not give me the car without additional $216 payment. I had no choice as I had just flown 9 hours and was tired. Subsequently ArgusCarHire confirmed in writing that my rental DID INCLUDE THE BASIC COVERAGE

HORRIBLE. FRAUD!
March 28, 2020

Holy crap HORRIBLE company! January I went down to Florida with my boyfriend. Hour late picking us up from airport, waited 2 hours in the store for vehicle, or vehicle was different then the one we ordered, a person dropped it off and the company gave it to us dirty & broken( a jeep)they made us buy all these extra insurance, pass for the hwy, big deposit. I prepaid for everything through a third party and got a GPS and when I got the the rental company they said we don't have that stuff even though they charged me $80.The company KNEW it was broken and said it was fine. On the way back at the end of our trip when we dropped the vehicle off it was raining so we couldn't even put the jeep top up. So that great. Honestly this was a huge disppointment. It was one thing after another with this company. Today I got a letter in the mail from there insurance company saying we broke the jeep and that we owe them $3500 USD. She place is such a scam & I suggest NO ONE uses this company... Learn your lesson through me. Absolutely horrible. 0 stars! Anyone else?

Rude Scam place
March 26, 2019

I wish there were negative stars that I can give!

This business is a scam with horribly rude employes. They dont say anywhere that one needs to bring a full policy of your car insurance (not just a insurance card) and then try to charge you $35 a day and up for an additional insurance. When I tried to get the manager but employee just canceled my reservation and refused to say her name. I was left to stand with my luggage and no car in the middle of anywhere. It seems like there is no rules or controls. The employee was just crazy unreasonably angry with me.
The company provided incorrect instruction about airport pick up. We received a text message to call for shuttle, but the number provided never picked up, so we spend half an hour trying to call this number. After I googled their central office and they instructed us where to find a bus stop.
When the shuttle bus finally came it was tiny and not all the people from the line fit in there, so many people were left to stay and wait more.
Stay away - the company tries to entice you by lower prices, but you'll end up paying more than to others reputable companies because of Easirent scams to get more from you when you get to the place.
And I NEVER seen representative to be so rude and nasty to me without any reason. I felt powerless with her insults.
Stay away.

I have rented cars all over the world including several "third world countries" but I have no hesitation saying that Easirent London Heathrow was the worst experience ever. I arrived to hear them arguing with a client who felt that he was being overcharged. They threatened that if he sued them he would spent the rest of his life "working for them"
In between serving me the agent was alternately arguing regarding the offended client and ordering his food.
We turned up at 5pm for a rental that was slated for 11am our fault. He charged us an extra 50 pounds sterling for a smaller car arguing that he had no cars of the model we needed... so we had to get a smaller car for more? We were desperate and were traveling with our three children and tons of luggage after a cruise. Their rental company was "off the beaten track" and they had no private shuttle.
Really bad service and a the worst ever rental car ever. A complete disgrace to the rental car business.
They are not cheap at all. I ended up paying almost $200 for an overnight rental.

Easirent Ireland (Shannon airport)…
Easirent Ireland (Shannon airport) should not be trusted. DO NOT USE THEM. They gave me a car that we drove an hour to our first destination. We then slept all day and when we went to go sightseeing the car would not work. We called and had a new car delivered. They said we put the wrong gas in the car. We NEVER put any gas in their car. Then they charged us an additional $1147 because they said we put the wrong gas in the car. They continued to lie and make up false statements. Also I had the insurance and had paid for the fuel upon return. DO NOT USE EASIRENT FROM THE SHANNON AIRPORT! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!

Cheap, but the only redeemable feature.

It depends if you like to wait over 45 minutes for a courtesy bus to turn up, whilst you see buses from other companies turn up at least three times while you are waiting.

It depends if you like a lengthy 30 minute journey to the place with you crammed in like sardines in a can because you had to wait so long and so many other people also had to wait.

It depends if the queue is therefore so long that in the end you lose 2 hours of your holiday. Its made even more magical when you have your children in tow with you

It depends if you like surly aggressive staff who are obviously geared towards taking as much money off you as possible, in the form of things such as excess cover. The lady next to me was charged for taking the car two hours later than she had stated. The irony of course was that an hour of the delay was due to the bus!

It depends if you like to try to wash the screen only to find out there's no screenwash in the car. On informing the staff on your return its obvious they couldn't care less.

The USB socket in the car was also not working correctly.

IT'S A SCAM
June 8, 2015

Please don't try to use Easirent.com even if it's cheaper.

I booked a car with them quoted a fair price and I even called their sales team to double check the price and make sure there's no extra changes. They sent me a quotaition with the total price off £86 and I paid a deposit.

They even sent me a invoice stating the full amount of £84 too.

When I got to the airport and the rental car desk I was informed that my car was ready and filled in large amount of paperwork. Only then they informed me I had to pay £280 when I should them the quotaition and invoice which stated my price I got the reply "That price is wrong" When I asked to speak to the sales man they made me wait 30 min. I was shocked to see when I was waiting four more customer with the same problem.

This seems to normal to give one price and then when blackmail you to pay more than the best rental company's out there.

ALL I CAN SAY IS DON'T TRUST THE PRICE THEY GIVE YOU ONLINE. IT'S A SCAM

I read a lot of easirent reviews and was sceptical of why the price is soo low. I rented a car a couple of times from Luton airport and although they push you to take overpriced insurance but I declined as my credit card company covers for excess waiver.

When you rent the car, they will casually hand you over the car and would not explicitly take initiative to record any scratches but when you return the car they will examine it very carefully and will try to rip you off.

Take loads of pictures when you take the car. A guy before me was charged 350 GBP for a very little scratch on the wheel. As he didnt inspect the car at the time of check-in, he had no evidence if the scratch was pre-existing or he caused it.

Both times I was stressed out and although I was not charged, but the level of stress is not worth it. The price undoubtly are low, but in case something goes wrong, you will end up paying many times over. I would not rent from easirent again.

If you still want to rent (although I wont recommend), please check in at day time, and take loads of pictures of every little scratch especially the wheel. Better you return the car in office hours, else easirent will screw you up if you return outside office hours.

So far I am unaffected, but really they are crooks and bunch of liars.

I would rather pay little more and in future rent from Avis, Hertz or Europcar.
