After several failed attempts to liaise with customer services I found there is a regulator for private hire car firms. After approx 5 weeks they ruled in my favour and I was awarded a full refund minus the original fee. Seems they were familiar with EasiRent no shock there!
This company has no ethics. I have been overcharged £249 on a 4 day car hire that should have cost £79. I now have to go through the whole process of claiming back and challenging their processes begging for money that is rightfully mine. Absolutely disgusted at how underhand the practices are and how they are still trading. It would be cheaper to travel by plane. Please look elsewhere.
The Southampton Airport branch recently insisted on payment for excess insurance. My wife had standalone insurance, told them, showed it to them, read out the statement on the insurance certificate for this situation, offered to put the £1260 excess on her credit card but they just kept insisting. In the end, her mum was ill, so she felt she had to pay to get the car. Complaint response later was just "you signed = tough".
I reserved my car online. I reached the airport waiting for the shuttle and took over half an hour when I called the automated service said every 15 minutes a shuttle will arrived. I could not get a live representative. The shuttle guy was on his phone and used a lot of hand gestures. It took a hot 5 minutes while we where in the car for him to stop his call to say hello.
The lady at the desk was rude and made bad faces when I was to ask any questions or ask her to check other quotes on cars. She didn't even tell me I was not getting car I ask for until we were outside.
The car smell awful and we told her about it and She disregard the fact. Into the day I realized the low tire light was on. Everyday I constantly put air in the tires. I did not have the time into my vacation to return the car. Overall I would not rent from Easirent again.
We waited 2.5 hours at the Orlando while staff putzed around in slow motion. It was impossible to figure out what they were doing. They tried to overcharge me and then said they didn't have the car I requested and gave me a mini van with about one gallon of gas in it. This was midnight in a rainstorm. It's unbelievable to me that a business that delivers such terrible service can survive. Avoid at all costs.
Rented from them this month while in Ireland. Had booked on line for what I thought was a great price. When we picked up the car, got hit for insurance which cost more than car. Car itself was fine. When we go to drop off the car, no one is at the building. I called the number on the door and man says he will be there in 10 mins. No one shows up, had to get a taxi to airport. When I called man back to say where keys were for the car - no answer. Called 3 times. Finally I called the pick up location and told the woman were the keys were and also called another number from their website and left a message on machine where to find the keys. I'm filing a complaint through Holidaycars.com where I booked them. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! There are no savings.
I booked a car rental for over 5 weeks in June, & it had a free cancellation clause. 3 days later I cancelled it as I found I no longer needed it due to changes in my plans.
Although I wasn't supposed to pay until pickup of the rental, my credit card had been charged the full amount (over£530) immediately!
I reached their customer service who said they would refund it. That was over a month ago. I contacted them again & they gave me some story about the backlog of cancellation refunds they were working through & that mine was approved & was to be paid within days. That's what I was told over a month ago. They refuse to give me an estimated date that I would receive it.
They have deliberately held on to my money for almost 2 months now.
They are crooks. I would never deal with them again. I recommend you beware of dealing with them also.
I'm going to look into what legal recourse I have & which regulatory body I can report them to.
Mine is a similar tale to most others on here. I was charged for insurance that I'd already paid for through the online booking agent - though NEVER had any explanation given about it. I was left stranded at the airport for nearly an hour (in freezing, howling winds) - actually, it wasn't at the airport - I was told, when I called them, to walk out of the airport itself to meet them at a petrol station (had to do this with 2 large suitcases - was the same when I returned the vehicle). Picked up car from a wooden hut tagged onto the back of a hotel about 4 miles from the airport. Have attempted to raise my complaint with them by telephone and email, on numerous occasions - even with the MD, who read and promptly ignored my email. This business is unbelievably poor - I genuinely believe I was mis-sold to and now am being totally ignored. I would never recommend any aspect of their business to anybody - use at your own peril...!
Not a really customer friendly agency. They force you to get their insurance and the EZ Pass which is really not necessary. The worst customer service I have had in a while. From now on I will stick with a major name brand.
I rented a car online from Easirent and picked up from Bristol airport on 18/4 for 2 da
Ys. As of today 9/5 the deposit charged on my credit card still has not been released. I have emailed them countless times but they never reply. Made countless calls, and was told by the guy that answered the phone, 'I have been too busy to reverse the charge on the credit card', that was 5 days ago! They are hopeless and will never use them again.
BEWARE: Easirent is a fraudulent company
BEWARE: This company is a rip-off. They do not respect the prepaid vouchers. I had to pay again for what was already prepaid through the intermediary (e.g. One-way drop off, cross border fee and unlimited mileage).
Moreover, their cars are full of dents and scratches. Then they charge your credit card for them...
I'm really disgusted by their fraudulent behaviour.
SHAME ON YOU #Easirent
DISASTER!
We rented their car in November and suddenly in March 2017 they started to charge my credit card some "fees" for no damn reason. Utter disaster. They don't even send a bill for what they are charging.
No address for location on website that I could find. Didn't have the type car I reserved (Med. Size SUV). Had to take one of three (3) smaller sedan cars on the lot or was offered a commercial looking van... lol)
Counter employee was rude. Car was dirty, had to wait for vacuum, no wash. No gas at pickup of smaller and different type vehicle than was reserved. Worst location and facilities ever seen. Would never use again.
EASIRENT HEATHROW - These people are scammers and very unprofessional - do not rent from them! They have low prices but get you when you return the car by looking for small marks. There was a tiny scratch on the car - they said was not there before - I was charged £250 + for a tiny mark. The car was given to me not cleaned from the previous person. Also, the shuttle they use only comes every 30 minutes and takes 40 minutes to get to the rental office. Nearly missed my flight because of slow system and them charging me for tiny mark. I've been renting cars for 13 years and never had any issues! Low prices but they try to scam you with insurance and marks they conveniently find!
Absolute worst car rental experience. I can't even communicate my anger coherently. They double charged my credit card and when I showed them my credit card statement they claimed that it did not double charge and I would have to call my credit card company. The cr dit card company has now opened a case to investigate because it is easirent that screwed up. The staff were extremely incompetent and kept trying to sneak extra charges into my rental agreement with excuses that they were mandatory and when I booked the car the price shown didn't include all sorts of random charges. This company is shady and lacks any sort of integrity. Stay away at all costs!
They tried to con me by pressing on me to take extra car insurance that cost $250 extra. The whole process of renting the car took 2 hours. There were so many minor scratches on the car already there when we rented. We had to check the car thoroughly before we rent. When we returned the car, they claimed we made an extra scratch which would have cost us our deposit $2500. Luckily we took photos and showed that the scratch was already there. They even tried to deny it even with photo. Do not rent from these guys. They are con artists!
One star in generous, from a very long wait at the airport arrival to get picked up we arrived at tHe Hilton) their base it was a ne man show, serving a customer, taking him out
Washing the car and bring it back and then attend to. The next customer
The check in process was one hour from landing time
Dreading the car return
Never make the mistake of dealing with them
Rented from the Dublin branch and they are scumbags.
Stay away, they will make up a damage claim if you try to use your own insurance and don't buy their insurance
They even have a tip option when you pay by card to get more money from tourist who think it's the norm to tip in Ireland. I'll never use them again or recommend them. You have been warned.! Stay away from these theiving bastards.!
This company is the worst rental car company on the market! After we picked up our rental car at Jacksonville airport, we didn't make it 15 miles and the car was out of gas. Then, when I tried to wash all of the bug smatters off the windshield the wiper fluid was completely empty. This was a 2020 car. The back seat reeked of urine. The biggest issue was they never had me sign ANY contract at all, including gas provisions. When I reviewed the contract they emailed me there was a scribbled signature on 3 areas of the contract stating this was my signature. Highly illegal! I tried to talk to a manager but repeatedly was told to call a number that is never answered. With a full lobby of customers, the girl behind the counter left to go "buy shoes" leaving a young man there by himself for more than 30 minutes. If I could give this company a zero I would. Never mind emailing them. Never a response.
I cannot emphasise enough how unsatisfactory the experience of renting from Easirent was. I feel stupid for having fallen for the low headline costs of the deal (£85 for an estate car for 3 days). Our final bill was more than £300, including £145 when we returned the car (which was also smaller than the one I had booked) for a "new" scratch miraculously discovered on return. Other charges / revenue-generating opportunities include £25 for fuel (please return empty - always a way to make more money), additional driver charges and excess-reduction payments. Not only that Easirent (presumably named ironically) required not only not one but two proofs of address but a DVLA check code to prove that your driving licence is valid. The process of retrieving that requires a national insurance number as well as a driving licence number. And then once you get to the airport, you have to take a bus to reach the portacabin that is the Easirent office. Never again. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Worst experience I have ever had with a rental company.
They did not have our car when we arrived and we had to wait for almost 6 hours before they were able to offer us another car than agreed upon.
We had a rock hit the windscreen and they ended up charging us 975, when a local garage would do a total replacement for 250.
Do not recommend this place- rent with a company that is trustworthy and honest and that wont ruin your trip.
Answer: To whom it may concern, This is the complaint letter I sent to those whom I thought could help my wife and I solve an issue that we found to be Very troubling. It involved an employee at the Jacksonville Easienrt, specifically the manager named Franky. Priceline Booking Number 202-281-644-38 Easirent Reference Number 1863754 Easirent Wally Park, Jacksonville, FL airport We went to pick-up our rental on February 15th, 2020 and had all the information we were told to bring (credit card, drivers license). The young man, Franky waiting on us, informed us we needed proof of our auto insurance which we did not bring because we were not asked to bring it. When we challenged that he informed us that local rules can require them to ask for proof of insurance. We have Erie Insurance and at this time on a Saturday they are closed and not open on Sunday. The manager, Franky, said we couldn't have the car without proof of insurance. We told him we would call and give them that information on Monday and he said ok. Then he blindsided us about the in-kind coverage on our credit card which we thought we had but would check with Bank America, his response made us feel threatened and also taken advantage of. Again, none of this was mentioned on any of the documents. It was hard to understand Franky at times which only made the situation worse so my wife took over. Once again, we were told we couldn't take the car without the proof of insurance, which also was never mentioned on the paperwork. My wife explained we would call them on Monday with the information so the charges that we paid extra for, would be taken off once that information was given Franky and that would be ok. We signed off and waited for the car, which was not what we asked for. It looked like the worst one on the lot and the windows were very dirty and very hard to see out of the windows because of the stickers on the side window. On Monday, as promised., we called Erie to get the information for our insurance and also Visa to make sure we had the in-kind benefit. Both of these services were to be taken off our bill once the information was suppled. Called 1-888-901-5121 on Monday the 17th twice, once busy and 2nd time hung up on after we told them we were calling with the information they needed. Called again Tuesday the 18th and kept getting busy signals. Not only was this a terrible experience initially, but customer service once they knew why we called, decided to hang up and not answer the phone after they saw the number. Thankfully, the return went smoothly and very glad the person who waited on us was helpful. The rep at the desk upon return, Dasha, informed us that all she has to do is ask for proof, if not available then it would have been accepted, that being two adults in there 70's would have insurance.
Answer: I want someone on the phone from Easirent to explain to me why they aren't the fraud they clearly are...
Answer: They tried to charge me an extra £120 on arrival to upgrade as they'd run out of cars of the booked class. Argued and argued but they only threatened to call the police to remove me from their office. Had to pay £55 for a taxi and wasted an hour and a half.
Answer: Depends on the size but i was about £27 each for just a 2 day car hire. And i had to fit them both myself! What a company.
