I ordered 3 yards of the extra wide flannel backing for a quilt. I ordered it in August, left it in the package and then opened in October when I finally had time to work again on the project. As i was ironing the flannel I noticed that where the material was folded there was discoloration. It is dirt/dustiness as I was able to wash some away with a wash cloth. I e-mailed about compensation and was told because of the time frame that I was not able to return it. I have had good orders with fabric.com so this was just plain dissappointing. Now I can't trust them. Gone are the good old days when the customer was always right. Lesson learned: check you material as soon as it arrives.
This is my first time ordering from this merchant and although I didn't have problems with the order fulfillment itself, the fabrics I ordered were missing several inches from each one. I ordered 6 different fabrics totaling over $100 (including shipping) and ordered 2 yrds each. When they arrived and I measured them, some were missing anywhere between 4-5 inches with one missing as much as 7 inches. Considering I PAID for two yards each, I expect to get exactly 2 yards. It's too bad because the fabrics were of good quality otherwise but I feel short-changed on the amount of fabric I received. Inspect your fabrics right away when you get them and make sure you're getting the amount you paid for.
I made my first order from Fabric.com, and I couldn't be happier! I needed to recover the seat on a 1940s gossip bench. I found a simple red and oatmeal stripe material I loved, and I ordered one yard. The material came today ahead of schedule, and it is wonderful. It had a slight odor, so I just put it in the dryer for 15 minutes and that took care of it! I know my order was simple, but my experience was excellent. I will continue to buy from Fabric.com when I so need.
I don't know why but I have been doing business with fabric.com for about 7 years and they have gone from bad to WORSE! My most recent order has taken 12 days to ship and only because I finally gave them a call did it get out in the mail. Customer service has always been unaccommodating and could care less about ANYTHING when you call. DO NOT SHOP HERE! In fact for an example of great customer service and speedy shipping shop at hawthornethreads.com.
I ordered some fabric for the first time from Fabric.com. The order was processed and a charge was made to my credit card. Then I got a form-type email saying the fabric was out of stock. After a few days they did take the charge off of my card. So, why did I order from them? I just wasted my time. (At the time I placed the order, the fabric.com site was listing the fabric as being in stock, but evidently it wasn't) I won't order from them again.
Placed an order for 16 yards of fabric. Thankfully printed a copy of the order, since I had to call them nearly two weeks later to find out what was going on with it. They said they emailed me because they didn't have the full quantity I ordered (in one piece), and because I didn't respond in 24 hours, they canceled my order.
News Flash: I NEVER GOT AN EMAIL FROM THEM! They didn't try to call, either. Apparently, my email address they had in their system was missing the "gmail.com" at the end of it. So not only did their "system" accept this as a valid email address, it made no notice to anyone that their attempted order cancellation message to me was undeliverable.
So now my project is nearly two weeks behind, and I have to try to hunt down the fabric I need. Absolutely no effort on their part to rectify the situation - don't waste your time, would not recommend!
RIPOFF. I ordered 9 yards of diaper fabric. They sent 2. They don't want to make good, because I used the 2 that I needed, and asked for the remainder of the order to be sent to me. Because I used it--they won't make good. LOUSY company.
I made two orders of faux fur from them, both around 3 yards. Not only did they take weeks to ship it out, both times the boxes arrived they were nearly falling apart. One of the boxes the side was ripped open! Luckily it didnt stain the fur but I cant beliebe theyd let a box ship out like that.
Poor Poor Service! When I checked my order and it was not delivered as it said it was I checked with the others in the house and no delivery. I called Fabric.com to report it and all they said was they would put a tracer on it and it would take up to 8 days before they decide to send out a replacement or not. EIGHT DAYS! It does not take a UPS driver EIGHT DAYS to try and trace his tracks to figure out what he did with my package. But they said, "It's not our fault we did our part!" So did I! I was stupid enough to shop here and pay for it. I will not order from them again. I order alot online and if orders have been screwed up it has never taken EIGHT DAYS to get an answer... but I guess they feel this is customer service. I will go to JoAnn's next time. Their order arrived two days before this one was supposed to. I would take the drive or order somewhere else besides here.
Place two separate orders on same day for more than $160 and when I asked them to credit me the shipping cost on the lesser item I was told that they couldn't do that because they can't place orders for customers (I didn't understand this answer) and when I phone them to ask for a clarification I was told that the website automatically charges the shipping cost, therefore they couldn't do anything but for me to cancel both orders and reorder onto one order. Wow, I guess their customer service is really at the mercy of this website, so there is really no customer service to handle anything should you need it.
Wow, I wish I read these reviews before. I ordered 21 yards of waverly Barano seaspray fabric the color was totally different then on the picture. It was on sale that means final sale, who knew I didnt read the fine print. This should have been written on the fabric page itself not just in the return policy. Now I am stuck with fabric I cant use. Obviously this company doesnt care about reviews in the least since their score is 17%. Wow is all I can say, I lost $177 will never use this site again.
I ordered 9.5 yards of a linen material to make a bedskirt. It came in 6 seperate cut pieces TO TOTAL 9.5 yards. SIX! No one contacted me before sending it & after I complained & noted the fabric was now backordered, I received a UPS notice that a return label was created. Still no contact or discussion with anyone from Fabric.com. Im supposed to now take this to a UPS store to send it back & hope they refund my money. What about the co-ordinating fabric & thread I bought to go with it that was in the same order? I've bought hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars worth of fabric & notions from them over the last few years but they lost a cutomer for life & it's because no one bothered to contact me. Mistakes happen but there's no excuse for not following up with a cutomer & trying to make it right.
I've never been to this website before and yet there's an attempted charge at 1:34am est 7/12/20 from this website. Due to the being an attempted fraudulent charge my bank canceled my card. Proceed with caution!
Fabric.com shipped me the wrong fabric. Told me first to keep it, and they would refund my purchase price. Nothing happened. Then they told me to ship it back, so I did. Still nothing. They acknowledged their receipt of my return, and gave me the same story (twice) about processing my refund. No refund, and it's been a year. Nothing short of a lawsuit is going to free up my refund, and I'm thinking of filing just on principle. Please learn from my bad experience and DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE. It's really rare for me to encounter a truly unscrupulous business that lies openly, BUT THIS SITE IS ONE OF THOSE!
I could not be more angry at this company, toatl waste of time, do not buy from them because i can asure you that atleast one of the products you order will be "Out of Stock" then you have to go through the process of either you want something else or a refund or blah blah blah, and it takes forever to solve. When you finally solve you wait for it to be delivered and find out that all you order is wrong or some items are missing, so then here you go again. I would recommend you buy some pain killers for the headaches you will go through with them.
Fabric samples were sent as requested. Paid $3 for each sample but on the back of each sample there are stickers with numbers, width of fabric, etc. However, there is no information to trace back WHAT THE FABRIC IS. None of the numbers match the search on the website to order the fabric. Tried contacting customer service and was put on hold for 30 minutes and I finally gave up. Sent an email and the first response was to contact customer service (what?!). The second response was a list of fabrics but the numbers were "not found" on their website." I think I will be ordering from another fabric company since the service at Fabric.com is so unprofessional. After looking at the other reviews, I agree: RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

GUESS WHERE IM NOT SHOPING ANY MORE
My order was put in May and I have no shipment tracking information. This company does not respond to calls and I have sent e-mails until they finally responded with due to COVID they were forced to close and my order is on its way but no shipping tracking number. I waited another 9 days and sent another e-mail and no response again. I called the number posted on the receipt and on the website and there is no response.
I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and contacting the Attorney General Bob Ferguson in my state and the state of California if I do not get this resolve. I either want my money back or the material I ordered.
This company rates extremely poor with me for customer service, timely response/follow-up and items in stock. I placed an order and was not contacted until a FULL WEEK later to tell me that what I ordered was not available--funny thing is they had time to charge my credit card! NEVER AGAIN.
I so wish I'd found SiteJabber before I ordered from fabric.com. All I've done so far is place an order for swatches, and already I'm unhappy. I've spoken to two people in customer service (all of the managers were on other calls, which is not surprising now that I've read some of the reviews), and no one can tell me when my order will ship. The first person I spoke with told me 5-8 days. I was sure that I'd read 2-3 days, so I checked the website. Yep - 2-3 days is what it says. I called back and got a different person in customer service. According to her (although she didn't put it this clearly), the day of the order doesn't count in the "2-3 days" and nothing ships in two days. Then, she said, you should count on 7-10 days in the mail. (Sending it by UPS was not offered as an option, although larger amounts of fabric can be sent that way, so why not?) If you want to buy from fabric.com, I recommend counting on two weeks at best to receive anything. Apparently no one from fabric.com reads these reviews. That speaks volumes.
Answer: Hawthorne Threads is great.
Answer: Im using them for almost a year but no more... they keep sending me 25 % discount almost every week to gain me back... NO WAY! Yeah i order atleast 2,000 each order... total loss for them... until now they still awe me money for the fleece fabric i order long time ago, when i order it it has 50 yards of it, after 10 days they gonna tell me its out of stock, waited for replacement, until now no replacement... i got a lot of horrible experience with this company,,, dirty fabric that looks like somebody use it to rub on their body... really really sucks!
Answer: My business is making curtains. I have dealt with this company for the past two years and I think the customer service department is doing the best they can with trying to making it look like the company has it together. They do not have it together at all. There is no excuse with the volume of business that they do that they cannot afford a system that can tell you immediately an item is out of stock. I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased fabric from this company only to learn three days later that it is not in stock. Then they hold the rest of your order for another three to four days after you answer an email telling them to continue to ship the rest of the order. I have had fabric arrive to me balled up in a box that they didn't even bother to put in a bag, I have had fabric with shoe prints on it in the middle of the bolt or pieces of fabric missing from a ten yard order that were cut out of the middle of the ten yards. I am trying to eventually not use this company at all anymore as they don't have a clue as to how to treat customers or just don't care. The only problem is they have run all of the mom and pop online fabric stores out of business with lower prices (this was maybe two years ago) and the smaller businesses couldn't keep up with them so they closed. Now that they have the market they have raised their prices because they have very little competition out there. If you leave a good review for this company you are one in a million that have had a pleasurable experience. Just because you bought from them once and don't have a complaint means nothing, consider yourself lucky.
Answer: It's a US website, so they'll take the money in US dollars, but if they take orders from Australia your bank or payment processor will have to convert the currency according to the current exchange rate and I think they may also charge a fee for doing this.
Answer: Thank you so much for your inquiry. Please feel free to send your contact information to edhr@fabric.com, and I would be more than happy to forward it to the appropriate people.
Answer: You would have been better off contacting fabric.com directly. It doesn't look like they even know about this website.
Answer: I would call or email them, including as much detail as you can... order #, what fabrics were ordered and approximately the time of the order. Have never had this happen to me from Fabric.com, have from another online site and was lucky that I got the help I needed. Good Luck.
Answer: As a customer of theirs, almost an ex-customer of theirs at this point, I can honestly say they have made absolutely no changes for the better in my case. They have paid absolutely no attention to any of my issues with them, which is why I'm about to become a former customer.
Fabric.com has a rating of 2 stars from 380 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Fabric.com most frequently mention customer service, business days and credit card. Fabric.com ranks 113th among Fabric sites.
