To correct the mistake they made with my order would've cost them maybe $3 max. Since they chose not to, they've easily lost hundreds to thousands of dollars in my business, which I will happily take elsewhere. I hope that $3 and their self-righteousness was worth it.
Details of what transpired: I ordered $50 in fabric samples so that I could see which fabrics best matched my overall home decor. Four samples arrived that were either 1) missing the a main color altogether or 2) had maybe 1/4" of the secondary color, and it was too difficult to really see how it looked.
I sent customer service an email about this. I got a "form letter" reply that they were sorry I was disappointed. That was it. I followed back up to let them know that their response was not a resolution and that I wanted them to send me four new samples. They replied that there was no guarantee that I'd get a better cut of fabric. I then asked for them to send me the return sticker so that I could send them back and they said that they don't accept returns for samples. So I'm stuck with four unusable samples that cannot be returned.
All of these reviews are so very true! I have been purchasing from Fabric.com since 2011. They do have a huge selection but the customer service is rude and they do not care. The shipping time is horrible and you have a 50/50 chance of even getting what you order. This past year they seem to have gotten even worse. I really don't understand how they stay in business or why there isn't a competitor that doesn't increase their inventory to wipe fabric.com out. It wouldn't take much. After 3 weeks of waiting for my fabric to ship, I had to cancel my last two orders. Yes, I tried again after the first 3 week ordeal in hopes of a better experience, but had the same problem. However, when I asked for a refund I did get it. They told me it would take a ridiculous amount of time to process. I complained. The representative said she would have it expedited. It was. On the website they indicate they will not take your money until they ship your order. FALSE! They also indicate most orders ship in 2-3 business days. NEVER! Do not use Fabric.com unless you cannot find any where else and know when you order that it might not work out and you might wait a month or two to get your order... if you do.
When I first ordered from them, I looked at the negative reviews, but they were the only ones who carried EXACTLY what I was looking for. So I ordered. Perfect and fast delivery! I ordered again-same experience. Same with the third. Fourth order? One of the items, while the package exterior had the correct label, the product inside was wrong, wrong material, wrong color. I emailed customer service, explained nicely the issue and let them know with the pandemic I would not be going out due to immune issues. I asked them to charge my account and ship me the correct item, (I would keep the other and just use it elsewhere) but please check the item before it shipped to ensure it was correct. Three days later it arrived, correct and free! I thank them for their kindness, professionalism and quick turnaround. I will continue to order from them, thank Heaven they are still at work, taking care of everyone else. They need to be appreciated and thanked for still being there when they could just as easily be safe at home! Everyone deserves a second chance~give it a shot. I am located in the US, and I've ordered from this site for about 6 years, averaging about $15k/yr for my business. The service and quality has gone downhill significantly, more specifically, after expanding their warehouses in late 2011. There was a time where this site would allow you to use a coupon code multiple times. When coupled with their free shipping, these 15% codes would put their prices just below all their competitors. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. They've been averaging a one-time use coupon code every 3 months now, which for my business, simply isn't worthwhile. They also have a lot of problems with keeping their quantities up to date, and take about 5 days to inform you that something is sold out. Most of the time, the quantity on the site will still show a significant amount of yardage still available. Again, when I order large quantities of fabric, I need reliable and fast service in order to meet my own turnover for my customers. I've only ordered a handful of times the past year, and each time I've either had to wait an ridiculous amount of time for shipping, or I've received the wrong item and need to waste my time fighting for a replacement. If you can find something somewhere else, DO IT.
I have had a great experience with Fabric.com. Occasionally there was a mis-shipment, but Fabric.com made all situations right. I understand that during their move, they had a lot of problems--but I think they have overcome most of the barriers. I believe that Fabric. Com employees are human, that also occasionally make picking mistakes. All my problems have always been handled with knowledgeable, courteous customer service representatives.
My problem with Fabric.com is the new website that they have recently migrated to. It is complicated and not user friendly. The old website was laid out perfectly to find any fabric that you would want. Too many selections to have to muddle through makes the website not user friendly. I don't know about others--but when I want to look at certain fabrics, I don't want to have to spend a lot of time trying to find it. Unfortunately, it has become just like any other fabric site. They lost the simplicity of fabric finding and I think that is a shame. I will not spend much time on it as I did before.
My friend made an order with them last month they took more than a week to ship the order & they only do so after several emails chasing them. I'm tempted by the discount offered so I went ahead & try them out hoping that I'll get lucky. Order confirmation was on 3 Dec but as of today I've not heard from them. Sent several emails asking them to send my order by 16th Dec cause I need those fabrics to make Christmas presents. But no response at all. Today I've sent another emails asking them to cancel my order, still no response.
Well, mine is just a small order I wonder why is it so hard to sent them out. I've shopped for my hobby for several years now & have bought from many fabrics online stores, they are all good, is just so encouraging to shop for more but not with fabric.com they are just not up to it. Their service is extremely slow.
If they are running such a big online store but do not have enough manpower to fulfill order pls stop all sales & stop upsetting customers. Or, pls indicate on your website: "orders will take forever to ship, please do not contact customer service we will not respond."
Their fabrics cut is not as promised generous 37" instead of 36" and if you buy half yardage is worst. Their fabrics got a filthy feels you definitely got to wash it before use. But the worst is their customer service, I've never came across customer service not responding to emails for several days since I've shop online from day 1. The only attractive thing is they offered $35 with free shipping. I hope more fabrics stores in the US can offered that too!
I, m NOT happy with this company. I had 2 orders about $250 which were on hold "PENDING"! Seemingly they say the money didn, t COME through from paypal. I put it in 11th Oct & by 14th Oct they cancelled my order. I have sent several emails to them & I ONLY get "this order is cancelled"! Have left messages to get back to me by PHONE so I can talk to a PERSON! Still waiting! They are due me quite a bit refund too. NOT HAPPY!
If I could post zero stars I would have. I purchased waterproof material. And pricy material at that over $20 a yard. I covered 2 small out door chairs. Well in one season the fabric molded. I contacted Fabic dot com and Im told this fabric isnt advertised as waterproof. Well then dont have that fabric come up when searching waterproof on your site orI wouldnt have purchased it! It even says laquer laminated. What would that mean to you?!?!?!
I ordered black terrycloth for mass production. When received it was blue. I took it the manufacturer and it looked more blue under the lights.
I called the company and asked them to pick up the fabric and they said they couldn't. It had to be picked up at the same place it was dropped off. I live in Long Island and the manufacturer is in NYC, the garment district.
I slchlept the fabric back to Long Island and had it picked up.
This company sent a new shipment but it was still blue!
I will NEVER order from Fabric.com again!
My production is held up and the requests for my item has deminished.
Good going fabric.com for hindering my first business endeavor.

Most useless lazy customer service messed up my shipping unwilling to help fix it. SO LAZY. DID I SAY LAZY? NOT EVEN WILLING TO TRY EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID THEY'VE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN. GUESS I WILL BE ON MY OWN TO GET MY PRODUCT. I will never order anything from them again.
Ordered $51 of fabric and received free shipping. One of the pieces was the wrong fabric so I emailed. No response after three days so I called. Asked to exchange the wrongly sent item and was told they didn't do exchanges and that when I re-ordered the fabric needed, I would have to pay shipping. I reminded her that this was their mistake but she still said she could not wave shipping. Really? Asked to speak to her supervisor. Supervisor explained that their system was not set up for an exchange but they would send a label for free return and give me $5 for shipping. Good deal BUT I have to wait two days for the $5 to show up in my account before I can order the fabric that I need. I also have to print a label and drive 8 miles to mail back the piece that they mistakenly sent. It will take another week+ before I have the fabric. Not happy.
***UPDATE By Monday morning, the $5 credit was in my account and I just re-ordered. I'm glad that I asked to speak to a supervisor. I have amended my star rating from 2 stars to 3.
This fabric is perfect for for recovering my dining room chairs. The colors are brilliant! Love this fabric. The price was better than I could purchase it on Amazon. Can't wait to start my project.

2. After asking for track and trace got one with information in chineese (wtf)
3.2 weeks further tracking code not updated anymore - apperantly order was lost (I had to contact customer services myself)
4. They resend order even though I said I did not want to have it anymore
5. No track an trace again - later on I receive it - same code as previous shippment...
6 after leaving a 1 start review on there website (which is not posted btw) they got in touch with me, sending the same old track an trace which had not been updated for 2 weeks.
I issued a chargeback - worst experience I ever had. From my experience one big scam.

I was nervous to order at first because there were SO many bad reviews. I literally placed my order YESTERDAY AFTERNOON and I already got it! And the fabric is so gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. Very very happy. Can't wait o upholster my headboard!
I bought the last 7 yards of a nice fabric from here. They sent me 8 yards of hideous snake skin vinyl. I cannot believe it. What makes matters worse is they can't send the correct fabric because it's "out of stick now." Ya think!?! It SHOULD be out of stock because I am the one who bought it all. Now I can't make good on my promise to make curtains for a client by a specific date. There is no reason for this mistake unless someone in the warehouse wanted to take the fabric that I bought for themselves. I think this because there was a printed label that said faux leather attached to the order and place meticulously over that label, clearly telling that it was vinyl, was the label for my order! Why would they put a label for my order over a label for faux leather. Not a mistake. I will never buy from these dishonest people again. They also have the worst customer service ever. The lady was so rude and wouldn't let me explain the vinyl label being covered with my order information. She would just cut me off and say, "well ship it back." They deserve no stars.
I was so excited to get a lot of my holiday fleece at such a cheap price, until I had to deal with customer service. A few days after I placed my order, they emailed me and informed me that a fabric that I ordered was out of stock (which it didn't say on the product page). So I emailed back with a substitute item, and they wouldn't accept it 3 times. So I finally just emailed them and told them to cancel my order, and that I will not be shopping with them anymore.

This company is a joke. I ordered through Amazon, fabric.com being the 3rd party seller. The BLUE ombre cotton fabric by Timeless Treasures I ordered was black shading to grey. I reordered, got someone elses totally different order. My blue ombre had never shipped. They assured me theyd send my order out the next day via NEXT DAY AIR. It should have been delivered today but NO. I called AGAIN, it was accidentally sent ground which will be an additional days. I ordered this through Amazon to be assured of 2 day free shipping. When I called AGAIN to maybe be compensated in some way, I was offered a $5 in store credit. They can keep that since I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM NOR DO I RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE TO. Terrible excuse for a company.
Worst company I have ever dealt with and worst customer service I have experienced. Every time I called about wrong orders the reps were friendly but never apologized or care that my orders were wrong. Have ordered a total of 6 times with this company and out of those 6 times my order has been wrong 4 times! My last order arrived and was missing SEVEN of the items I had ordered. Called the company who sent out another package but when that arrived it was missing an item. Finally called the company and just got a refund for the items I was still missing! SO frustrating and unprofessional is this company that I will NEVER order from them again. On top of everything that is already frustrating when you order from this company they take a week to process and then its another week for transit times so its already two weeks before you get your order from the time you purchased. Then if its wrong, which it always is, its another two weeks for them to send the replacement. If your thinking about ordering from this company expect a month or two until it arrives and allot of hassle before you get the actual product you want!

Yeah i order atleast 2,000 each order... total loss for them... until now they still awe me money for the fleece fabric i order long time ago, when i order it it has 50 yards of it, after 10 days they gonna tell me its out of stock, waited for replacement, until now no replacement... i got a lot of horrible experience with this company,,, dirty fabric that looks like somebody use it to rub on their body... really really sucks!
Answer: My business is making curtains. I have dealt with this company for the past two years and I think the customer service department is doing the best they can with trying to making it look like the company has it together. They do not have it together at all. There is no excuse with the volume of business that they do that they cannot afford a system that can tell you immediately an item is out of stock. I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased fabric from this company only to learn three days later that it is not in stock. Then they hold the rest of your order for another three to four days after you answer an email telling them to continue to ship the rest of the order. I have had fabric arrive to me balled up in a box that they didn't even bother to put in a bag, I have had fabric with shoe prints on it in the middle of the bolt or pieces of fabric missing from a ten yard order that were cut out of the middle of the ten yards. I am trying to eventually not use this company at all anymore as they don't have a clue as to how to treat customers or just don't care. The only problem is they have run all of the mom and pop online fabric stores out of business with lower prices (this was maybe two years ago) and the smaller businesses couldn't keep up with them so they closed. Now that they have the market they have raised their prices because they have very little competition out there. If you leave a good review for this company you are one in a million that have had a pleasurable experience. Just because you bought from them once and don't have a complaint means nothing, consider yourself lucky.
Answer: It's a US website, so they'll take the money in US dollars, but if they take orders from Australia your bank or payment processor will have to convert the currency according to the current exchange rate and I think they may also charge a fee for doing this.
