I sew.
Sometimes I seek designer fabrics from Brunschwig or Scalamandre.
But for basic ticking, notions and other sewing supplies, Fabric.com is perfect.
They have a wonderful array of casual and hearty materials at affordable prices. I used their ticking in each bedroom of a summer house... coordinated with the wall colors.
I unreservedly can endorse this company... the business and shipping end is as equally efficient and reliable as is the fabric quality.
Five stars.
I ordered 7 balls of Bernat yarn for a project, and received three different dye lots, all of which were visibly different in color. Contacted customer service, to have order returned and re-sent. The re-sent order had two different dye lots. While Fabric.com has great prices, they can't correct dye lot issues, even when they are made aware that's why an order is returned. I don't plan on ordering from them again.
My experience has been like most of the reviewers. They don't ship like they say they will - then when I inquire, they lie that it is going out that day. It doesn't. I am still trying to get my 100.00+ order from them. Wish I had read reviews before ordering...
I have ordered from Fabric.com many times, the last few orders, the fabric has come filthy dirty and has been damaged. I have also received my fabric in pieces instead of one continuous piece. I am DONE ordering from them, Customer service reps were rude and unhelpful
I bought multiple things all around a particular fabric I ordered from this company. Well, a few days later, they didn't ship my order, they cancelled it! Now it's out of stock they say and they're not sure if it's ever coming back in. The informed me their website is not usually updated, that they are very behind on customer service emails, and when I spoke to a rep about the situation he admitted that yes, I was basically screwed and there is nothing he will do about it. Wow. WTF kind of customer service is this?!? That was my first order with this company. This company is a joke. Now I own a bunch of things meant to match that one fabric that I can't get and is very hard to find anywhere else. Awesome. Thanks a lot idiots.com, I'll take my business elsewhere. Oh, and you can't even leave a negative review about them on their site because they won't let it get posted so what you see is only what they allow.
They charged me immediately, then did not ship for a week and half and then said they were out of the fabric. They will not refund my money. I have contacted them over 20 times, and it has been over a month and still no refund. I think they are just crooks. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Their online chat is a joke. I was on for over 2 1/2 hours and never go through. Called and was on hold for over 3 hours. Email and they never answer. So I am just out my money.
I tried to cancel my order after reading other reviews. They sent it days and days later and sent me an email after saying it was too late to cancel the order (of course I didn't believe them). Then, they sent me the wrong fabric-something similar but not the right one so that makes me think it was not a mistake. I'm trying to return it now-lets see how that goes!
I bought fabric which was shipped from USA to the UK and was very happy with the service I received and the delivery time. As a first time buyer I also received a discount on my purchase which helped with the overall costs. Parcel arrived within 8 days. It was better to buy through the site direct than going through Amazon.com who were charging more for the items and delivery. I would definitely use the site again. The only downfall was the import charges which are a UK issue not related to this website.
A highly recommended website with beautiful products which I look forward to using. Thank you!
I live in Canada and have ordered fabric from them for at least eight years. I wanted to order a swatch and when I went to checkout, my shipping charge was $17.50! I phoned as thought that must be a mistake. The person I spoke with was condescending and told me that is that standard rate for international orders. Give me a break... put it in an envelope with a stamp on it and charge me for postage. Other online fabric stores in the US usually send it to me free. I now try to avoid dealing with them as much as possible.
I was worried about ordering because of the reviews, but I am glad I did. I ordered on Tuesday and my fabric was delivered on Friday! I ordered six one yard pieces and each one was slightly longer than 36". One had a sticker that said I got the end of the bolt, so it was 1 1/2 yards. The fabric arrived folded neatly in individual plastic bags. I am very happy with fabric.com.
In the words of their customer service representative, "Unfortunately, we are not fabric experts at Fabric.com." The chat transcript speaks for itself. I attached the image of the chat to this review.
I absolutely love fabric.com. They have a wide selection with prices that vary from high end to thrifty. My orders are received within 2-3 days and always come well packed and cut as ordered. I have placed 6 orders with fabric.com since becoming a member in November 2013. I have even had a few of those orders sent to a friend's address and they have never sent them to the wrong place.
I haven't had any experience with their customer service because I haven't had any issues with my orders.
I have placed 5 orders with fabric.com in the past six weeks, and only received one. The other four have been placed to try to replace fabric that they don't have in stock. Customer service has been no help at all, only offering to refund the purchase (which they charged before they even found out if they had the fabric I ordered in stock), a refund which will only be issued in 7-10 days. I will never order from them again.
Excellent service and beautiful fabrics. I am from Australia and i ordered 19 yards of fabric, almost $400 worth and it was on my doorstep in exactly 7 days. The order was all correct and delighted with quality of fabric. Can't fault them.
Had fabric in my cart for over a week at $7.57 per yard. After they promptly setup my business account, at checkout I realized they had not set my account up as tax free. Called to let them know at which time they fixed it over the phone but the prices in my cart immediately increased on two items. The $7.57/yd went up to $14.98/yd. Customer Service said for me to place my order at the new price and they will review the sale prices and give me credit towards a future purchase. Later, they actually told me they couldn't find on their end where the fabric had been on sale. Unbelievable. I've looked at my cart every day for over a week and compared costs. How can a Company not know what prices they have advertised? Similar pricing incident through Amazon. This Company is horrible.
I placed an order with this company nearly a week ago, still hasn't shipped... there site said it was "pending" so finally I emailed and they replied that an item I had ordered was out of stock and to replace it with something of equal or lesser value. I responded right away and told them to ship the rest of my order without it. I haven't received a response yet and the order is still on hold... I won't order from this site again. On the website it says it will ship within 2 to 3 days. I call bologna on that!
These guys are really incompetent. I have ordered twice now, think that I would have learned from the first time. First time I ordered 2 yards of a very large, repeating pattern. They sent me two, one yard pieces, which were useless. This most recent time i ordered 4 1 yard pieces of stretch lace in different patterns. They sent 2 yards of the same lace pattern an a yard of cotton canvas. They did refund my money both times but really that's not what I wanted. I had to pay shipping and I ordered mostly for convince, which it was not.
I recently spent hundreds of dollars with fabric.com. Then I placed my most recent order for 6 yards of fabric. Their website said they had 27 yards in inventory. Imagine my surprise when I received a 4 yard cut and a 2 yard cut. One length was folded right out and the other cut was folded right side in. I am assuming the 4 yard piece was a "return" from another customer and fabric.com wanted to unload it on me. Their inventory yardage went from 27 to 25 yards after my order so obviously the 4 yards came from somewhere other than from the bolt. I guess they don't want to establish a loyal customer base. I will NEVER get fabric from fabric.com again.
I had my social security debit card stolen. It was used at fabric.com and at other stores such as Sears. I contacted fabric.com and they told me that my bank should just reimburse me. Then when I went to Amazon Jeff Bezos who owns this piece of crap company, I was contacted by Angelina from fabric.com. She stated that she will make sure I get my money back. After many email excuses, she has now stopped answering me. Not only did someone steal my debit card, they bought things with it and was paid for with my hard earned social security. Sears was very cooperative and gave me back my money. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM fabric.com. They are con artists. They are liars. They do not care about the customer. I am very surprised that Jeff Bezos allows a company he owns to have such a poor business standard.
Without going into a lot of detail I just need to let everyone know if you need customer service forget it. I contacted them by email, called and then sent a letter. The persons on email and phone flat out said they wouldn't help with my problem and my letter was totally ignored. If you need help, you won't get it. This is the worst place ever. Seems they don't care about repeat customers!
Answer: Hawthorne Threads is great.
Answer: Im using them for almost a year but no more... they keep sending me 25 % discount almost every week to gain me back... NO WAY! Yeah i order atleast 2,000 each order... total loss for them... until now they still awe me money for the fleece fabric i order long time ago, when i order it it has 50 yards of it, after 10 days they gonna tell me its out of stock, waited for replacement, until now no replacement... i got a lot of horrible experience with this company,,, dirty fabric that looks like somebody use it to rub on their body... really really sucks!
Answer: My business is making curtains. I have dealt with this company for the past two years and I think the customer service department is doing the best they can with trying to making it look like the company has it together. They do not have it together at all. There is no excuse with the volume of business that they do that they cannot afford a system that can tell you immediately an item is out of stock. I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased fabric from this company only to learn three days later that it is not in stock. Then they hold the rest of your order for another three to four days after you answer an email telling them to continue to ship the rest of the order. I have had fabric arrive to me balled up in a box that they didn't even bother to put in a bag, I have had fabric with shoe prints on it in the middle of the bolt or pieces of fabric missing from a ten yard order that were cut out of the middle of the ten yards. I am trying to eventually not use this company at all anymore as they don't have a clue as to how to treat customers or just don't care. The only problem is they have run all of the mom and pop online fabric stores out of business with lower prices (this was maybe two years ago) and the smaller businesses couldn't keep up with them so they closed. Now that they have the market they have raised their prices because they have very little competition out there. If you leave a good review for this company you are one in a million that have had a pleasurable experience. Just because you bought from them once and don't have a complaint means nothing, consider yourself lucky.
Answer: It's a US website, so they'll take the money in US dollars, but if they take orders from Australia your bank or payment processor will have to convert the currency according to the current exchange rate and I think they may also charge a fee for doing this.
Answer: Thank you so much for your inquiry. Please feel free to send your contact information to edhr@fabric.com, and I would be more than happy to forward it to the appropriate people.
Answer: You would have been better off contacting fabric.com directly. It doesn't look like they even know about this website.
Answer: I would call or email them, including as much detail as you can... order #, what fabrics were ordered and approximately the time of the order. Have never had this happen to me from Fabric.com, have from another online site and was lucky that I got the help I needed. Good Luck.
Answer: As a customer of theirs, almost an ex-customer of theirs at this point, I can honestly say they have made absolutely no changes for the better in my case. They have paid absolutely no attention to any of my issues with them, which is why I'm about to become a former customer.
Fabric.com has a rating of 2 stars from 380 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Fabric.com most frequently mention customer service, business days and credit card. Fabric.com ranks 113th among Fabric sites.
