Fandango's return system for tickets is flawed. When you pay for a purchase with partial Fandango credit and partial your own payment method, if you return that order, it all goes to credit. I tried to call to get the money returned to my original payment method and the customer service people had no idea. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was left on hold forever. Hung up and now will stop using Fandango altogether. I'll even just eat the money I wasted that is now in Fandango credit - if it means I don't have to do business with this company.
PSA: Do not ever purchase a Fandango gift card. If you lose it, there is nothing they will do. Nothing. It is lost. Forever. Whoever finds it gets to use it. Unacceptable. They will not cancel the lost card and reissue a new card. They will not issue you a PIN number so you can use the card number online - I have the card number on the receipt I am holding. Horrible customer service which does not care one bit about it's customer base. In 2020, this billion dollar company cannot cancel a gift card and issue a new one when it is lost?! Do not buy or use Fandango.
I got a Fandango gift card for Christmas. It was obviously a regift! This is the most stupid gift card that I have ever seen! DO NOT BUY THIS CARD! I REPEAT! Stay away from Fandango. Someone is getting rich from ripping off others!
Received 100.00 Fandango gift certificate for Christmas. Buyer assumed that since our local theater's movie times were listed, we'd be able to get use the gift card there. This is the only theater within 40 miles of our house, and no other options are given when our zip is inputted. When I went to purchase tickets through their app, it said the theater won't sell through Fandango. Live chat made me wait 20 minutes then gave me 30 seconds and while I was typing, disconnected me. I started over. Second chat rep told me to call a number that had been changed as of Jan. 1. Finally got through and was told there are no options in our area and they won't refund card. He said the movie times for nonparticipating theaters are in black, and orange for those who participate. A person looking at their site to get a card would have no possible way of knowing this. Fandango is a scam and should be avoided by all! Get gift cards directly from your theater. They also charge an undisclosed "convenience fee" from every ticket sold!

I redeemed a code from my rewards credit card for 2 tickets and only used 1. I know it is on me to read the fine print that the claim codes are a one use only application and I needed to redeem both tickets ($14 value a piece) at once, however... I made the assumption that I would still be able to use the other ticket later... mea culpa.
But don't let a small mistake go unpunished! Two hours waiting on hold and arguing with three support people their party line was "there are terms and conditions" and they cannot be ignored!.
The terms and conditions should have read "we don't give a crap about you, we only care about our terms and conditions". Even after speaking to a manager I got the standard party line of there was nothing they can do. Of course this is a lie because they could simply credit my account for a $14 ticket value. But why should they have to eat my mistake? BECAUSE THEY ARE A PART OF THE CREATION OF THE CRAPPY PARADIGM THAT ALLOWS THIS TYPE OF THING TO HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Owned by Comcast this ticketing company is happy to crunch on you and take your money without any concern for your issues. There is a reason they have a 1 star rating across the board, they are a bunch of charlatan, miscreant, pariahs bent on the destruction of our pursuit of happiness and leisure.
I purchased 4 tickets online from Fandango. I found out I could have purchased the exact sames seats for about $10 less if I had used AMC's app. This is the first time I've seen Fandango being higher than the actual theater app. No notice, warning, comment from Fandango. Never again. Hope they go the way of Blockbuster Video stores. They ripped people off too.
Selected a movie and time, confirmation came up saying it was for a movie that was already playing. I asked for a credit and they said sorry, we don't refund movies already started. Duh. Total scam site. Never again and you shouldn't either.
I downloaded the fandango app and put in the movie theater and it said this theater doesn't sell tickets on fandango, I mean what's the point in this app if I can't even buy a movie ticket on the app so I can use it at my local theater. So I believe it's not a good reliable app.
Just went through a problem with Fandango. A few months ago, someone hacked into my Fandango account and bought tickets to a movie in a town hours away from my home. I contacted them afterwards, and I got a refund, but subsequently on several occasions when I tried to buy tickets, I kept getting an "internal error", and was unable to complete the purchases. When I contacted customer service, they eventually told me because I contested the hacked charge, I was no longer wanted as a customer. Nice! After many years of using the service, get shown the door, even though I changed my password and deleted my payment information from the site so that could never possibly happen again. Stay away - no need to be a customer of a company that threats their customers like criminals.

What a rip off! Accidentally booked a movie for a wrong day. No returns no consideration if after movie time! It seems they just get the $6.00 plus fee every time. Would book with the actual theatre not Fandango! Never again!
I paid for $100 worth of gift cards with the Holiday19 promo going and no where did a promo code or discount section become available. It went straight to my paypal and charged the full amount with no discount. I immediately contacted Fandango and they told me once the transaction went through they could not do anything and if I wanted to charge another $100 they could request a credit but that it was only a request, no guarantee. So... I charge $200 and maybe get a credit? Ridiculous!

I accidentally purchased tickets to the wrong theater and immediately requested a refund. I noticed that my tickets were refunded, however they still charged me a $6.50 service fee. I called and explained what had happened and the refused to refund their service fee claiming this was their policy, no exceptions! I will no longer use their app or purchase their gift cards.
Useless fandango gift card. Tried to use, no good number. Showed a ticket, but no way to get at it. Tried again, site said invalad. Worst giftcard ever. The guest service at the theater said it was some internet thing? I ended up paying out of pocket to see the movie!

I tried to purchase tickets using fandango as I always do as I loved that the convenience fee is waived if using their service. Apparently they told us they came out with a new rule which is nowhere to be found that you have to purchase 4 tickets to have this fee waived. Be better fandango. We will never use you again. Not to mention train your customer service reps. They to didn't know of this rule till today.

I am 63 years old and have had lots of experiences with customer service departments. I would have bet anyone everything I own that I would not have found a worse customer service department than AT&T. Until today. I gave these morons every opportunity to fix the problem and they repeatedly failed. I also know why. Every step up the corporate ladder, from customer service rep to Manager, to corporate, they got worse and worse and worse. Truly the adage here applies, stinks from the head down. I will NEVER use their service again and every time I go to a movie I will try to convince a customer to spread the bad news. If anyone tries to give me a fandango product again, I will throw it back in their face. After that I'm sure they will never use them again either! I've gotta go now, I have to cancel my fandango account!
Fandango could not complete the transaction so we went and bought tickets at theatre. Fandango would not refund since the movie already played. Big Ripoff!
I was trying to buy tickets and it kept saying error. Then the movie started so i had to go to whole different theater and buy tickets there and then hours later they decided to process my order and charge me. It's ridiculous then when i try to get a refund they tell me there's nothing they can do for their own mistake.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
