I'm going to start by saying, this was not completely fingerhut's fault... but it was certainly wrong. Last time I had purchased items with fingerhut wa close to a hear ago (June 2016). I had thought I had finished paying off my balance, my fault... I should of double checked. Fast forward to a few days ago, I'm checking on my credit report... making sure everything was still looking good... when I noticed I had a delinquent account. Did some digging to find out fingerhut called it in. No phone call, no letter by mail, no email. No, I find out through my credit report. I'm sorry, yes I should of checked and made sure I was in good standing. But it is also wrong for a creditor to allow an account to go on for so long, without calling or sending a letter. At least something before just selling my account to a collection agency. As soon as I found out I got the info I need to pay it off. If fingerhut would have at least tried to contact me, I would have paid! And now, because of fingerhut' disorderly system... I'm going to hav a delinquent mark for seven years. Thank you for ruining my credit. Real great company you are.
Ordered a $60 ring. Before I had it 2 weeks it broke into 2 pieces. I returned it and was told they wouldn't credit my account because it was broken. Called customer service and they said they were sorry but since it was broken I couldn't get credit for it but they would send it back to me if I wanted. I sent an email asking why they don't stand behind their products. They called and left a message to call them back. When I did they basically told me the same thing. That they could not give me a credit because when I received it it wasn't broken and it didn't matter that it was less then 2 weeks. Return Products can only be credited back if they are returned in new condition.
Fingerhut has helped me rebuild my credit as I started out with a six month trial and they gave me a $200 credit line which allowed me to shop and as long as I made my payments on time they graduated me after 6 months of on time payments and gave me a credit line and increased my credit line as I started off with $200 in credit I now have $900 in credit and every time I make a payment on time it is reported as positive to my credit bureau and this has been great since my credit is improving because of Fingerhut. As long as you make your payments on time just like any other bill you would pay you to can increase your credit score. I enjoy shopping with Fingerhut and I give them a 5 star rating as a very good company to help you establish a good credit standing and not a lot of companies do what this company does and also provide excellent customer service and I will continue doing business with them. I ordered a set of pans ($30) and a vacuum ($89). I immediately returned the vac because it looked like a child's toy and I didn't even take it out of the box. When I checked my balance it was over $75 AFTER the refund! After speaking to someone for an hour and trying to understand her "english" and hearing " I do apologize for the inconvenience" about a hundred times, she said they would refund me $14.95 which has not happened yet. I was put on hold about 4 times, asked to speak to a supervisor which she refused to do. They gave me the biggest runaround about return shipping fees and "undamaged items" fees until i was screwed out of half the cost of the item that I returned in perfect condition. They said they could not refund the full amount on the vacuum because it was NOT damaged and they only give refunds on damaged items. So if I took a hammer to it, I guess I would have gotten my money back. But they got the Vacuum back in perfect condition to resell again to some other poor sucker. And my balance is still over $75 for two lousy pans. What a total scam. I am paying off my balance and cancelling this garbage account. STAY FAR AWAY.
Purchased only a tv and no sideline paid all of 203$ to them tv only costed 369 so we paid 203.94 off they still say we owe 266 how in the world do we owe that much still dosent add up especially after the first tv got damaged in shipping n we sent it back n started over with 400 $ credit n they also owe us 38 back on our credit card from that cus we paid 105 of our owe money cuz credit was only 400 n it came to 505. They only rembersed 67 of the 105 back. Call n call n they do nothing n don't understand a thing

I was conned by this company and now my credit is going to suffer for it. FTC nor BBB will do anything about it. I was told I could postdate a payment then they never processed nor posted any notes regarding the conversation and completely ignored the elements of my complaint with headquarters and BBB. I was promised an investigation that never happened. In their response to my BBB complaint they claim that they listened to the conversation then turned around and said they have no records of the conversation and still BBB did nothing. I refuse to pay these con artists. I should have known better because they scammed my parents and charged him for stuff they never ordered and double billed them for stuff they did. A few years back I purchased several different items from Fingerhut. Night gowns, bath towels and dishes. Fingerhut allows you to buy things from them and make payments if you need to depending on the size of the order. Well it sounded all good until you get the merchandise. The order arrived very fast, hassle free. I will never forget what I thought when I saw the items. I wish Fingerhut could have seen the look on my face when I saw there merchandise. I will never forget thinking to myself, wow where did they get this stuff out of a cracker jack box? The night gowns where so thin that you could see right through them. Although my boyfriend loved them. The only thing I might use them for was a scrub rag. The dishes where so cheap that I wound up using them for outside when I have friends over to go swimming and cook out. Chinett paper plates where more sturdy. The bath towels where so flimsy and cheap with one washing they looked like the where years old. They faded and frayed. I did turn them into scrub rags for my car. I never sent the order back because it was more of a hassle than to just eat it. I wound up making payment for over 6 months to pay it off. I sent them about 12.00 per month. Will overcharge if you missed a payment the same day. When you call them they say one thing and do another. Balance was 77 dollars then the day of payment it went up to 159 dollars.
I have opened an account for my daughter and they approved her after a down payment of $30.00. All this happen in 2017, and she is still going strong with them. Matter of fact, her credit has risen so high that all she does is pay her monthly bill on time. Her credit score went from a low 450 to 649 now. FingerHut also has given her a raise on her credit limit. In the beginning, it was 400 and now her credit limit is 1000. I know soon they will raise her credit limit again this year and then her credit score will go up too. FingerHut is for anyone who wants to build their credit score, it's like a credit card, you must keep your balance low to see a difference in your credit score. My daughter has gotten shoes, Chromebook, and recently a laptop speaker mic. Her payments are still the same affordable monthly. FingerHut is not bad at all, you have to think of them as a credit card because they give a line of credit to you after you make every monthly payment on time. It's going on a full year now and things are great with this company. She is looking forward to another line of credit real soon.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. About a year ago I got $700.00 in credit. I used the credit and paid the WHOLE balance off. That was my mistake.
For those that don't know credit works this way: The more credit you have available on your credit report, the better your score.
Because I paid my balance off in full and waited two months to order anything (I saved the balance for Christmas for my kids and spent a month searching to find the perfect stuff on their site) when I hit "submit order" I was given the message that my credit limit was "under review" and to call them.
Calling them is a WASTE OF TIME. You will only be told over and over again that they are reviewing your account for either an increase or decrease and not answer any of your questions for "24 hours". Last night when I checked my account I had been bumped down to $100.00! Not only is Christmas ruined for my kids, but my time was wasted and my credit score will go down due to this. I immediately emailed to shut my account down NOW as it was going to effect my credit report only to be told to call them with questions, which they cannot answer and only repeat the same scripted lines over and over again.
I URGE you not to apply for Fingerhut! My husband started with a limit of $300.00 and we didn't pay his off in full so they bumped him up to $1200. 00. All they want is the interest and late payments and their items are extremely overpriced.
I got a credit card with a lower interest rates and cheaper items through Walmart.
The small score increase you might get is not worth the damage that they cause years later. For one they closed my account because they "changed their name" to Fetti and cause a score decrease. Next they send letters saying that if you don't buy something from them, they will close your account, even if you have already made several purchases. NOT WORTH IT, KEEP IT OFF OF YOUR CREDIT REPORT COMPLETELY.
They closed my account because I didn't feel like allowing them to force me to make a purchase.

I ordered a suppos'd brand new Samsung S9 plus global version phone. When I got it it had two foreign military APN's already in the phone. I contacted finger hut and the smart Alec seller To notify them this was fraud I also contacted the Better Business Bureau who finger hot also lied to. I called Samsung and gave them though serial number of the phone and they told me that is not definitely not a brand new phone and they Offer absolutely no warranty on that phone. All the seller is offering is an exchange for a another one I told them i will contact Samsung And check its serial number also I am stuck with a used phone and I am paying fingerhut the price for a brand new one do not purchase a phone through fingerhut
They false advertise, they charge you triple the price for items. You would be better to rent from a rental company. They are the oldest and highest interest rate company in existence. Stay Away!
