Fingerhut credit is very cruel. I've been a loyal customer for about 4 years. I never missed a payment and a payment was never late on my account. Like a lot of people during the pandemic I fell on hard times. I missed a few payments. But I was contacted later and was told that if I paid $150 for 3 consecutive months it would get my account back on track. Well I did that only to bet told that I would not ever have an available credit line on my account. And would have to pay off the remaining balance. Once the remaining balance was paid I would have to close the account. Wait seven days and apply for a new credit account and there was no guarantee that I would be excepted.
Now if this is how Fingerhut treats loyal customers who suffered through a pandemic. Why would I reapply for another credit account once this one is paid off? Hell I'm sorry I ever became a customer in the first place! But I won't ever make that mistake again. And if you're smart you won't either. There policies and customer loyalty is horrible and so is their customer service.
I ordered a product from finger hut months ago, it was the wrong product. It didnt come with a return postage slip to send it back. I made payments on the product exspecting i would recieve the slip, and they would correct thier error. No! I ended up paying late fees and shipping cost. Never once was customer service and billing department worried about me or how i felt as a costomer. My advice. Dont jump because they have cool Comercials. They are a cut throat Company and dont care about costomers. Tons of other places to go to get items you need, around holidays and for bithday gifts. Dont do it!
I recently ordered one of their products, which was broken so my husband and I returned it. On the return label it stated that the shipping fees would be credited in full to my account. To ship the product, it was $190! I even called customer service and he even told me it would be credited to the account. So we shipped it and received our exchange (wish I wouldn't have), which was still chipped and scratched! Any time I have called ab the $190 being credited they have just given me the run around and saying that there has not been a record of me calling. So I email them and they had the $#*!ing nerve to ask if I would accept a $50 credit that they can't credit the full amount. I immediately told them no. Why in the hell would I accept $50 out $190?!?! I sent receipts of the shipping fees and where it stated on the return label that it would be credited. Last time I called them a couple night ago, the lady kept blowing my questions off and would not transfer me to someone else. They are now ignoring my emails! I just see how a company such as this one could treat there customers so poor and not stick to their word! I am going to pay this off ASAP and I will never purchase another item from them. I would not recommend anyone doing so! I will not stop blowing up emails and phones until I am credited the full amount of the shipping fees! I have never been treated so poorly.
I just received a $700.00 line of credit with FINGERHUT.
My daughter in Fiji told me not to buy anything from FINGERHUT cos she negative reviews. So l logged in this morning to read 10 bad reviews from previous customers so now l am hesitant to buy anything from FINGERHUT.

A little over 2 years ago I had to use their shady catalogue to make some Christmas purchases (been paying ever since!). I typically pay double the payment every month just to make sure I'm careful about making the payments. I've had letters from them that start off nice by saying that they know you didn't mean to miss a payment but then gradually belittle you half way through. And then I'll get a "CONGRATULATIONS you're such a great customer that we're going to give you more credit" the very next day! I've been saving this stuff to report them. Fast forward to today: About a year and a half ago they reported to the credit bureu a 30 day late. I never knew this until now. And again, I double the payment most the time. I am suppose to settle on a house this Wednesday and just found out that THIS is the absolute ONLY thing on my credit that is stopping me from getting a mortgage loan. I called them and pleaded to please remove it and told them that I will be homeless come Dec. 1st if I do not get this mortgage and they still WONT help me! I even just paid the balance off in full and nothing. Heartless
I love fingerhut i had them for 2 years now they start me off with a credit line of $180. My credit line now $1300. Everything i have ordered still works today.
I ordered a Bulova watch back at the end of September. As of October 8, it said the shipping label had been created. It sat at that status for several more weeks, so I called Fingerhut Customer Service 3 times to figure out why my item hadn't shipped from the distributor. Only after the third call did they inform me I had to submit an affidavit. I did, and received a reply today (the 30th) saying it showed the item was both ordered AND delivered on October 8, and that I would be charged for the item, as their records showed it was delivered, even though the tracking link they provided clearly showed USPS was still awaiting the item. This defies logic, of course, so I called and spoke to "May" -- after being put on hold for an inordinately long time, she informed me I would have to file a police report. I told her the item was never shipped, so there was no missing or stolen item to be investigated. She interrupted me with "Mm hmm, mm hmm, thank you very much, thank you very much" and would not let me finish speaking.
Customer Service is abhorrent and not at all helpful. The "Dear Valued Customer" response to my affidavit that I received was obviously churned out of some data base. I can guarantee no human EVER investigated my affidavit. I will never spend another cent with this company.
By the way, this is the first negative review of a company I have ever submitted in my life. Steer clear; I don't think real human beings work in this company. If they did, they would at least be respectful and decent.
I will never use this company again, all they want to do is lie to you. Once I get my first Items paid off, I am done! I strongly do not recommend you use there service.
I purchased a drone. Drone propeller didn't work so I return it for an exchange. New drone was defective. So, I call customer service to process the return for refund. They claim to have never received the item. I then receive the item 6 weeks later. Keep in mind this whole time they are hitting my credit score.
So, I call them to process a return, this is when they tell me they have no record of the second return and that they cannot accept the return because it has been too long. I then ask the customer service person what my options are. Guess what her reply was... yep. "We're being sorry that you are unhappy but we cant accept return. You must pay for item."
I will be filing a dispute with the credit bureau. The only reason I give this a 1 star is because negative stars aren't an option. STAY AWAY! Fingerhut partnered with WebBank for their credit lines. Seems like an unholy alliance that rips off the customers.
I hear good reviews, but only from people that are happy with the item purchased. If you are UNHAPPY with the items, even if they are DEFECTIVE, guess what... you will have a completely horrible experience.
I wish they could give Fingerhut.com negative stars. I signed up for their Fresh start program in which they give you a small credit. On time payments are reported to your credit bureau and it boosts your credit scores. When you graduate from their fresh start program, they give you revolving credit which is very good for your credit. The problem is that I bought something for $180 and made 6 payments on time. After paying off the credit, fingerhut reported my account as closed to the 3 credit bureaus, so my scores took a deep dive since it was reported as a closed account. In addition to that, I graduate to a revolving account as promised by fingerhut and instead the sent me a message that I was approved for another $180 credit. This is a SCAM in order to give people hopes that they will have revolving credit and continuously have people buying their products in hopes that they can "graduate" to their revolving credit line, but each time you never graduate and they just give you more credit to continue speding and buying their products.
This company should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people who don't have high credit lines. This is a certain degree of fraud and/or false advertisement which does not help their already failing reputation. Stay away from this fraudulent company. I will be leaving reviews on every site possible to warn people about this company.
I was approved for credit with Fingerhut. I tried very hard to complete an order and all i wanted was a smooth transaction. It was a nightmare for me. First I could hardly understand the rep, then she wanted my credit card before she could give me my total amount i needed to pay. I told her i need to first know what all my charges are because i am suppose to get FREE shipping with amount over 200$. She still insisted for my credit card. Trying to make her understand that I do not just give out my card Infor before I know my fees. She insisted that she could not proceed and because I don't get mail at my location, we all who live in this area have to have a PO Box and a lot of the items would say, NO PO Delivery, I also had given them my physical address but trying to make her understand was horrible. Finally I just hang up I was so so stress over something so simple. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. THEY NEED TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER PERIOD...
I have been with Fingerhut for 4 1/2 years never being late on one payment When they switched to Fetti bank they closed the old account from fingerhut advantage to fingehut fetti. Now the new account and the old account are on my credit report. I owe them nothing but for them switching banks the Fetti account is listed as a new account. As a result my score from equifax went down 32 points and Transunion went down 25 points. They never mentioned this or told of it in writing. Last year they gave me a temporary increase which I never asked for and when they took it off my score went down 10 points. I worked so hard the last 4 1/2 years on my credit and the company that says they build your credit actually hurts your credit. This should be illegal without them giving you a choice of opting out but do not. Terrible to treat customers like that. Their customer service is a call center is in another country with people you can't understand and was hung up on 3 times. Very rude people that are no help and an email address for complaints that doesn't work. Unreal they do this to good customers
DON'T ORDER FROM FINGERHUT THEY ARE THE WORST OF THE WORST. THEY ARE OVER PRICED ON THERE PRODUCTS YOU CANT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER WHEN YOU CALL TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THERE COMPANY TO ANYONE.
I had wanted to order a coffee table and finally went to place my order but the site said I couldn't change my shipping and billing address without calling customer service first (I had recently moved right after getting an account). I called customer service and after "verifying" who I actually am with everything besides giving them a blood sample the rep assured me that my billing and shipping info would be changed after 48 hours. I thought that was a long time to do a simple address change but whatever. 48 hours came and went, 3 days came and went so I called again and explained I wanted to order something but couldn't until my address was changed. The rep said to give it a couple more days. I was irritated but decided the table was worth it. A couple more days came and went. This time I called and was very angry, again the rep asked me a series of questions to "verify" that I am who I say I am and then after my tone was noticeably frustrated she went ahead and changed my address in a matter of seconds! I asked why it took over a week to do something when it just now took her a few seconds to do and she didn't really have an answer for me. With my address finally changed I went to place my order again and AGAIN it said I would have to call customer service. I went through the runaround yet again and a new rep said they had to now verify my account. If I had ordered through anyone else I would've had my table by now. Hopefully my coffee table comes when expected and it is all worth it. Very disappointed and exhausted with customer service.
I have been a customer with fingerhut for over 10 years. They have been going downhill over the years. In the past I didn't frequently order so they changed the policy you have to order once a year to keep your account. So I started to do it about 5 years back. They send you these huge catalogs all year and I usually toss them. Well I placed an order black Friday weekend and put my catalog number in the order so I can take advantage of the promotion for no payments till March 2017. Well of course my order went thru with no problem but the promotion code was missing from the order. So of course I have received all my items and given them out because Christmas has passed and I tossed the catalog once I received my items. So I get a bill due 12/31/2016. I call customer service and they need the code off the catalog. Of course no one keeps the catalog after they have given out all the presents and Christmas is gone. I asked to speak with a manager and the rep refused to transfer me to someone else so I'm done. I will pay off my bill and cancel my account. You have lost a good customer
Didn't get mailed until I had to email this ridiculous business on May 1st and then my order magically becomes ready to be shipped. Did i forget to add i placed am order on April 24th. I received a generic and empty email back regarding my legit concerns TWICE and inspite of being promised "ON THE WEBSITE TERMS" if you don't get your product within two days (which was May 2nd) then give us a call or email. I do that and still nothing from this horrible business. With all of that... I finally get my. Order and guess what... ITS THE WRONG DAMN ORDER. THIS COMPANY FREAKING SUCKS
I made a purchase for a PS4. Advertised with it was a basketball game. Never received. Kept complaining, now told no basketball game was shown on their site with the PS4. Have received 3 headsets with the PS4. All of them had shorts in it and I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING AGAIN FROM THIS COMPANY!
This rating it a ZERO! I purchased items from Fingerhut and set up payment for more than the monthly payment required. I go on my account and see that they have been charging me a $30.00 late fee because I thought the due date was on the 5th of each month. How ignorant can you be when you see that the payments were being made over the required amount to get it paid off and you stiff me for $30.00 and would only credit 3 payments back. They were also charging Safeline fees which I had not idea what it was for. I'm 100% sure I have never selected that offer to be charged and they will not credit all those payments back to me. I though this was a great place to make purchases from, but I was 200% wrong. They will cheat you out your money, charge high interest and add on fees you know nothing about. So please people keep your eye on your account so you don't get scammed like I have. The refrigerator I bought does work right, the temp has to be kept down so the bottom refrigerator doesn't freeze so you can't keep the items cold. The top has ice build up and you have to constantly defrost it. The humidifier does not work at all and I waisted my money on it. It doesn't do anything but blow out air, it doesn't clean the air what so every. Don't waste your money cause you can't return items, they give you every single excuse in the world as to why you can't return it! BE WARE!

Worst experience I've ever had! The employees don't speak or understand english and make it impossible to get your point across. In Nov 2015, I ordered a chair and received it in Dec. They completely sent the wrong chair, I had to ship it back, weighing greater than 50lbs so I had to pay for it out of pocket! I was told to fax a copy of the receipt and I would be reimbursed. It's now Feb of 2016 and the only thing i've received is countless lies and promises that the check is on the way. Today, Feb 4th, I gave it one last shot to recover what I was promised and each representative acted as if they never knew anything about the refund and also asked me if I could recall the names of the 10 people that I had spoken to since Dec that promised me a refund. How could I possibly remember the names of everyone? I was then encouraged to send in the receipt by mail so they could refund me... No thanks you lying crooks and i'll take my chances in having my credit score drop because I closed the account and they can keep it. Thanks for nothing, I would not recommend them to anyone but the Betteqr Business Bearau!
