I paid for a 2-page CV only to wait a week and not receive it. The cancel/refund process is a pain and is designed to waste your time so you don't get your money back.
Unfortunately, most of the reviews on here are for the independent sellers on the website instead of for the actual website. Fiverr can not control what the sellers do and you should all be aware of this. If you have a bad experience with a seller or buyer, don't blame it on the site. Report them to customer service instead!
I've been on Fiverr since October 2015 as both a buyer and a seller and have never had one bad experience. As of today, I've made $300+ on the site by offering my proofreading, editing, and writing services. Nobody has ever tried to trick me out of the money they were supposed to pay me, and no seller has ever lied about their services or tried to give me less than what they were offering.
I'm giving them 4 stars because I dislike the fact that, for sellers, they take $1 from every $5 you make. I understand that the site has to make money to keep offering themselves as a platform for freelancers, but I think they take too much. I also dislike the fact that it takes funds over two weeks to clear.
PROS
+Sellers can accept custom orders
+Sellers can set their gig to vacation mode if they're going to be away
+Buyers can cancel their order and get a refund if the gig is late
CONS
+If you buy something and don't like it, you can't get a refund
A buyer cancelled his order on my service when I already delivered 100% of my service (and this is hundreds of dollars social media service). His payment's on my pending clearance state. But it still gets cancelled by Fiverr. Imagine delivering something worth hundreds of dollars only for it to not be paid.
I can't even describe with a proper word on how ridiculous and dumb Fiverr is on imposing their rules. Fiverr NEVER even questioned me anything about the buyer's complaint (Buyer claimed that I never delivered my service which is crazy: scammer). Fiverr straight up cancelled the payment without asking for clarification from the other side of the issue. Like is that even professional?
What's worse is when I tried reporting this issue, I never heard back from Fiverr, not to mention how difficult it is to actually find their customer support, I found it from going through the community forum. That's an effing joke. Fiverr also charges 20% of my income for their supposedly "middleman/platform" service. Jokes on YOU FIVERR, charging 20% for doing f*ck all? For making it easier for scammers to actually scam people out?
DON'T EVER USE FIVERR! I'm trying not to be biased, I'm throwing out all the facts, what I've experienced. If you were in my shoes, I bet you you would be much more mad than I am right now.
What a joke of a company.
I was asked to pay my $420. Which I did, weirdly it said error every time and said my card would NOT be charged. Well horrific surprise when we realized that oje card was charged twice with $420 and another card was charged one with $420. That's a total of $1260!
When contacting them the first representative didn't even bother reading just told me to go and pay again and send me the link. Heck no! I already paid 3 times!
I've gone through 7+ representatives and each and everyone of them says something else. Also they then lost my credit card info (the ending figures and name) TWO TIMES! To see where my money is or went!
To this day we have received ONE payment back, now they are starting firstly to blame another company who they use for payments. Then they started blaming MY bank for HOLDING the fund. Why should my bank hold the funds? They don't!
I've waited to do a review as I hoped this problem to be solved ASAP, and actually considered moving forward with the artist! But after being passed on from one representative to another AND then then blaming firstly a company that apparently takes their money and payments and then continuing to now blame my bank for it. This is OUTRAGEOUS!
It's been 11 days since I made all payments and filed complain etc. Fiverr also promised to have the money back in my account from 7-(MAX)10 days! Again I'm still missing $840!
Stay away! Far away!
I have been both a buyer and a seller on Fiver and I've been disappointed both directions. As a buyer I've had sellers who delivered just horrible quality then got mad when asked to make it right. One even filed a complaint against me when the product he delivered wasn't even close to what he'd promised and I refused to pay. Another did such a low quality job that I think my kid could have done better. I understand I won't get much for $5 but in my case I offered more in exchange for better quality and the quality was still low.
As a seller I find there are very few orders and the site is a bit hard to navigate. Just try to find your own "gig" for example, even from your admin pages, to do edits.
My customers have liked my products and I've gotten "tips" on sales which in many cases doubles my income. The problem is the fees charged eat it up. Let's say I have a $5 item and I get a $5 tip so I made $10 from the sale. But then Fiver charges me $2 in their fees plus an additional $1 to send me my money via PayPal. If I want it sent any other way the fees are higher, in some cases MUCH higher. So Fiver is taking 30% of my gross income on the sale!
If I'd made the $5 sale and NOT gotten a tip they would have taken $3 of the $5 I was paid. Making $2 for an item isn't profitable.
In the "Price-Quality-Service, Pick any two" equation you're getting a very low price, but I'm just not seeing that you're getting either of the other two. When you only get one of the three items it's a bad deal and should be avoided. That's my advice for both buyers and sellers... Avoid it.
I used Fiverr for the first and last time and it was an absolute disaster. My three day book formatting turned into weeks and then well over a month. The "seller" who advertised as fluent in "English" was clearly not "fluent" and made huge errors in the book formatting. Fiverr seemed to take the position that if the seller put text in ANY order then it was a completed job. Consequently text was broken up, Text that read "She clearly thought me a bit soft in the head" was formatted to read "She clearly thought me a bits of tint he head" I could provide over a hundred examples. Fiverr kept insisting I work with the seller whose lack of English skills made the formatting a nightmare because they could not see the positioning errors in text. Fiverr basically held my payment hostage, kept referring me back to the seller and clearly did not read or understand the issue. Finally I requested a revision, again, the seller sent a revision and Fiverr immediately marked the deal as closed (before their three day review period). I will have the entire book done with a professional and I will NOT recommend FIverr nor will I deal with that company again. Most disappointing experience.
DO NOT USE FIVERR.COM. EVERY "GIG" OFFERED IS A SCAM. ANY DISPUTE YOU MAKE ENDS IN YOUR ACCOUNT BEING BLOCKED OR TERMINATED, IN WHICH RHEY STATE, "CLOSE THE DISPUTE AND THEY WILL ASSIST IN THE ORDEAL". THIS WEBSITE WAS CREATED BY CON ARTISTS FOR CON ARTISTS THAT COOPERATE ON ANY AND EVERY MATTER PERTAINING TO THE SELLER. NO MUSICIAN SHOULD EVER USE THIS SITE.
I HAVE NEVER LEFT A WEB SITE PAYING LESS THAN I WANTED TO PAY.
Fiverr wants to look impressive, and sound impressive and get THEIR money.
If Fiverr got the tips, they would set things up in a simple, straightforward way - the way absolutely every business sets up the page where you send in your money.
Good website. You can find anything you need. You just have to spend sometimes finding the right person for the gig. But at this price nothing comes closer.
Attention! This person is a scammer, our company was a victim of his actions, please be aware and share this information with your contacts and via social networks
NOT INTUITIVE- I originally set up my account to hire a web developer but now I'm trying to set up offering of my business services but it's impossible to figure out how to do that on the platform. Extremely frustrating experience I've been on here 20 minutes and have gotten nowhere - it is very unclear how to even upload my photo
I will be honest with you. I bought a coat! I didn't know what to expect but it's so amazing. The site is adorable, very fashionable and the clothes are reasonably priced. Will be ordering again.
Maybe I'm bias because I'm a seller on Fiverr ($4k earned in January 2016). However, most of the user reviews I saw on this site are coming from people who seem to need to be better at reading comprehension. I've never had Fiverr not pay me. I have also purchased many gigs on Fiverr and have had 1 or 2 not go perfectly well, but a simple modification request to the seller was all it took to get them to correct the problem.
FOR SELLERS.
For new users, payment can be delayed 2 weeks (potentially up to a month, it's been awhile since I was a new user). They are VERY transparent about the payment system and you can even see exactly when the money is available for withdraw.
FOR BUYERS.
Use some common sense before bidding on a professional service. Ask for their portfolio (if it's web design, graphics, writing, etc). Ask what specifically is included in your purchase. Fiverr cannot force you to accept a seller's work, so if the work done is not what you were expecting, request a modification and the seller must work with you to make it right. Again, read the terms on the site and utilize the tools available instead of calling it a scam.
When I first saw this site, I thought it was a great idea. I needed a simple logo so I requested one from a popular seller that had what seemed like a great portfolio and next to no negative reviews. I sent him a (very simple) sketch to work from.
Big mistake. He handed me back a "logo" that was literally just text in a font that you can grab off the internet for free with a crappy three second shape design next to it (it wasn't even a font good for logos). I know this because I HAD THE SAME EXACT FONT ALREADY INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER.
I literally could have created the same logo in less a minute. The only reason I didn't create the logo myself was because I wasn't familiar with vector programs. Even so, I know how to use the damn text tool. Of course he ignored the few (stupidly simple) requests I had for the logo.
Needless to say, I tossed that piece of garbage into the recycling bin the moment he sent it to me.
THIS IS FROM THE HORSES MOUTH; CUSTOMER SERVICE. Unfortunately, the sellers are no longer part of our community. As mentioned in our Terms of Service: "Fiverr does not check user uploaded/created content for appropriateness, violations of copyright, trademarks, other rights or violations. We invite everyone to report violations together with proof of ownership as appropriate. Reported violating content may be removed or disabled. Furthermore, Fiverr is not responsible for the content, quality or the level of service provided by the Sellers. We provide no warranty with respect to the Gigs, their delivery, and any communications between buyers and sellers. We encourage users to take advantage of our rating system and our community in choosing appropriate Gigs® service offers."
I decided that I wanted to creae a website and utilized Fiverrs services to do so. I contacted the seller attached, and he promised the stars, the moon and the sky. He promised he was able to deliver on everything I requested and promised that I will be happy with the end result. Based on his reviews, I felt that he understood my vision and was able to deliver. Well he didn't. I was completely unstatisfied with the website he provided, and when I requested changes to make it the way I requested, he told me that it would cost additional money, even though he agreed to everthing I requested from the begining. Don't let these reviews fool you. Some of these sellers have been around long enough and know how to play the system and are extremely manipulative. BEWARE of the seller below.
Reviews are fake most service are very low quality and uselss I will never buy here anything impossible to recoup your money if you are not satisfied of the service! Very disappointed
There customers support is non useless just plain stupid. I tell them im sending messages for a job but no response. There response is send another message. What a bunch of morons!
After 8 years of building career on Fiverr and building reputation and hundreds of repeat buyers. They just disabled my account as if it was just registered. The reasons were so funny.
The designer I choose did a half A** drawing of what I wanted I asked for a revision and never heard from him again (Brien Lee) I asked to cancel my order had to do that twice buy the way still has not been canceled I was also told that I don't actually get my money back this company sucks
Answer: I used Fiverr for my company logo. The guy lives in Vietnam and speak minimal English. I paid for an upgraded package with an unlimited amount of revisions, 3 original logos, stationary and Facebook as well as Twitter page covers. What does unlimited mean if a revision takes 24 hours and each revision is correcting spelling mistakes or telling him you don't want a green dog in your logo, I want a natural looking dog. His response is "you choose font and gives you a pale old lady stockings colour dog" instead of a white Dalmatian with black dots or a brown German Shepard. In the end I used an online translator to translate my requests from English to Vietnamese. He told me to sketch something and he'd make something. If I could sketch something then I would do my own logo. The one logo that I liked was the one I gave him all my ideas for. All he did was put it together in the right format. I was so frustrated with his other two attempts that I said ok give me the first logo with stationary and everything I've paid for. I got the most basic design, no stationary or headers. Did I go through customer service? OF COURSE! Throughout this whole ordeal. I described every little detail. Each time a different person would reply and say "I can understand your frustration and I will contact him". Only to have him return with the same dog in orange or turquoise and every time customer service would spit out the same line "I can understand your frustration and I will contact him. We see he is responding to you within 24 hours so for us that means you are trying to work things out. I want my money back! Sorry we can't give you your money back. The seller has received his money and its up to him to give you any money back if he so chooses. It was a dreadful experience. I ended up using an online logo maker and I loved it. PLUS it actually cost less. I'm now doing my own website. If you have the patience then try to do it yourself. Do NOT skimp on your website. The way the world is run today you want your website and all social media presence to correctly reflect your quality. If at the end I'm not happy with my website I will go to a professional and pay what it costs. Hope this helped and good luck
Answer: I know I have to wade through a lot of questionable sellers to get a good one. Happy hunting. There are good ones out there though.
Answer: All I can say id Fiverr is the BIGGEST SCAM going. Had to dispute the charges through my bank to get the money back
Answer: Stay far away from fiverr. I paid a guy to do some work and proved with third party techniques they used bots for fake views to my site. Yet this guy had many many great reviews. You cannot trust this site whatsoever. Stick with paypal as you most likely will get nowhere with fiverr.
Answer: If you want a site designed to steal credit card data from hard-working, civilized people, please use Fiverr. It is designed for one thing: to take your credit card data and leave you to deal with a mess. More details, reply or search for my previous posts.
Answer: I can only imagine you got swindled and feel bad about the fact you trusted someone. Don't feel bad, you did nothing wrong. There are sites who take the time to vet their sellers and then there are sites like Fiverr who let's anyone to join with zero check on their credentials. The entry into selling on Fiverr is so easy that it borders on ridiculousness. Anyone can lie about their location, experience, education, and just about any credentials. Some of them are really clever and mask their fake profile pictures and gig descriptions really well. Fiverr is so secretive about their vetting process, which I seriously doubt there is anything in writing, that you can't trust it. The seller's level is a joke - I've gotten cheated by ones with thousands of reviews. How they received literally a thousand or more review is mind boggling. Go back and check again, you'll notice like 99.9% of the million or so sellers all have 5 star reviews. All legitimate businesses have a combination of good and bad reviews, most average around 3/5 or if they are a really great business 4/5 but for a large company with like a million or so freelancers with zero credentials having 5/5 pretty much tells you there is something wrong. Like I said, you did nothing wrong. I hope you didn't lose too much money. Their philosophy is "We don't care how crappy the delivery was as long as the seller delivered you don't get your money back."
Answer: The answer is plain simple NO! You will get your followers, yes! But they are all bots, so you will lose 90% of the followers the same week, might as well throw this 5 bucks in the air.
Answer: There is very little in the world that is unique. You have to trust or spend a lot more $$$ or do it yourself
Answer: I would suggest having nothing whatsoever to do with Fiverr. When things go wrong - and that happens a LOT - there is no customer support line to call. They make it very difficult (in my own case, impossible) to resolve any problems. Read the evaluation reviews- they are extremely negative. My advice: find another site on which to offer your services. DG
Answer: I've had 28 orders and all but two were very satisfactory. Most were PDFform building or business card templates, but I had s few design logos for me then used the one I liked. Buyers: it's cheap. Remember that. When the service is good I tip generously then use the same person. I get great service, often in one day. When I order, I add express service and have yet to be disappointed. It's a business model without customer service. Face it. If you want customer service, go to Nordstroms or Nieman Marcus. Do a better job selecting your service provider; be clear in the order, and overpay.
Fiverr has a rating of 1.6 stars from 1,132 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Fiverr most frequently mention customer service, credit card and low quality. Fiverr ranks 107th among Freelancing sites.
