Recently they charged my cc for 0.01 the amount when I see it i called and complain they told me that in customer service ido not have any service with them but they charge the credid car to see if it was still active? How a company can charge 0.01 to customers who does not have service? Do they do the same to all of them? Why? Is it so bad that no body wants the service? Do they do the same to all people and may be not every one check their statement?. I don not know how many customers or the information of how many people do they have but to do that is abusive specially if the company knows that person is not a customer. If they charge 0.01 (unauthorized charges) to ******* people who they have their information they can make one hundred xtra with out authorization. 0.01 is nothing but a serious company shouldn't charge u nothing knowing they do not give u the service. To. See if my car was still active? Are they playing with customers information?
I ordered the $1.06 SIM card. They charged me two $89 charges on something I NEVER ordered! It caused my bank account to be overdrawn -$206 and my bank charged two $30 insufficient funds fee!
DON'T ORDER FROM THEM... unless you have money to burn!
I switched my wife over to freedom pop a few years ago using a cheap Android, once I discovered the phone was at fault I switched her up to an iPhone and it was a solid connection every time. I was sold on getting a cel phone then (and no longer carrying my work cel), picked up an iPhone and have been happily on the FreedomPop network since.
I ordered $1 SIM card that I ve never received. Checked my account page and... the sim actually has never been sent. Yet they keep changing my account even I told then and actually cancelled all. They feed my with BS messages and keep changing my credit card. I open a case, credit card quickly refunded me since freedopop's well known as a fraudulent company. BEAWARE.
I am paying, for both phones combined, $10.00 monthly (including all fees and taxes), for unlimited talk, texts, and voicemail. There is also a combined 2GB for the 2 phones, included (1GB of family data, and 500MB on each phone). My wife and I use less than 1/4th that amount on our phones, but it is good to have extra, especially at this fantastic price. Premium voice is also included in the price, so the call quality is very good.
Stay away. Ordered SIM Card for phone. Unable to get phone to recognize. Called CS; no phone based TS available unless pay monthly fee. TS via email that is less than subpar. Slow to respond; days. Question whether the TS reads the email sent to them of actions performed due to asking questions to try procedures that have already been tried. Working on six days w/o resolution. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THEM.
I've been using FreedomPop for almost a year. Currently I'm using the 4G LTE sim in AT&T network with free 200 minutes/500 texts/200 MB (increased to 700 MB after connected with 10 FreedomPop friends). AT&T's coverage is excellent, and I do have problem with making/receiving phone calls using the FreedomPop app. Some months I pay $1.99 for MMS service. So far I'm very satisfied with FreedomPop.
The service on my SIM-voice has been every bit as good and reliable as my prior no-contract ATT service. The VOIP app is on par quality as Google Voice and MagicJack. You just need to know that lots of the opt-out choices are small print hyperlinks and you get asked repeatedly if you really, really want to opt out. I have been a FP customer for 3 years, and pretty much have been satisfied. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is support. When I have a billing issue or account problem, the "leave a ticket" service does not work smoothly, and sometimes I wait weeks to get a reply (I have a ticket in right now on one of my accounts I left 2 weeks ago and still have not heard back). The recent inability to give more data to FP Friends if they have already received 500MB in Freedom Friends data that month is also a stinker, but certainly not a deal breaker for me.
Low to moderate users can benefit from the FP sims (and phones although I have no personal experience with those).
I have a SIM onthe "free plan" - 200 minutes/texts/mb per month. You can increase the Mb to 700 with FP friends.
I also have an annual 1000 promo that gives 1000 mins/texts and 1gb data per month for an annual charge of $49.99 (again FP friens can increase data to 1.5gb)
You need to go through the downgrade to free process carefully at start up to avoid default charges. Google it to make sure you get it right and your on a $0 a month plan.
I returned a non-working phone to FreedomPop all on June 18th. After many emails and no refund, I was told the issue would be "escalated". Still no refund so I did a dispute for the charge on my card. FreedomPop's response was to cancel my account. This was the 3rd non-wroking phone bought from them and didn't credit me when it was returned so you all cancel my account. The terms state that you have to contact customer service prior to going to the financial institution. I sent 6 emails with no refund so I went to my financial institution. FreedomPop is claiming I didn't follow their terms. But I did. Scam!
Don't waist your money and time on this product, it doesn't work and heaven forbid if you need customer service because that's a joke! They can't even speak English,, bad product!
I have been using FreedomPop LTE SIM for 8 months now and I am very satisfied. The coverage is great and the call quality is good. There are several plans to satisfy everyone need starting from 0$/month up. With the free plan you get 200min talk, 500 texts and 200MB. Up to 500 extra MB can be obtained connecting with FreedomFriends. All call and texts between Freedompop users are free. Make sure to set up your account according to your needs and usage, be careful to not go below 100MB to not incur in extra charges.
I would definitely command Freedompop for medium/moderate users.
There is not one single good thing that I can about this company or its people. Disturbingly poor from start to finish and from top to bottom. Avoid. Abort. Abandon.
I purchased Freedompop phone in February of 2017 and just closed my account. In that time there was not a period of clearly working phone. It is laborious to send in the problem, wait for them to respond, phone for help, and be given a person without English skills and YOU have to go into the phone following poorly spoken directions and fix it yourself. First the voice mail would not work, Took them two weeks to get that sorted out. Then it had 22 seconds for people to leave a message, then CUT OFF. I sent it in as a problem and was told they could not change that.
Here is the list I sent in Four days ago.
1. the voice mail messages are given 22 seconds before it cuts them off.
2. I cannot message out because I am "not allowed?"
3. No one can message in.
4. I have to fix the issues with lengthy instructions that NEVER match my phone.
5. I am getting marks when I change screens.
6. keypad will not come up just the voice activation. SO I cannot follow instructions... UGH
7. I have a banner across the top of home screen... well all screens. Looks like a ticker tape... I cannot get rid of it...
I gave up and have a Boostmobile. Please think twice before committing to Freedompop.
Freedompop sold me wireless service in Las Vegas that doesn't exist. I wasted money on the device. Don't join them. They hire orientals that don't understand English
FreedomPop is great for light-medium users looking for cheap (FREE) cellular data. They have offerings on Spring CDMA as well as AT&T LTE SIMs. The free allotment is not a lot, but sufficient for light users. You can always get additional SIMs (1 cent - 99 cents) and swap the out as needed or pay for additional data.
Just read the fine print and make sure to downgrade from trial plans/services before you get charged.
Had a FreedomPop phone for a couple of years and barely used it. Maybe once a year or so my son would fly into town and we'd use it to connect at the airport. Most of those times I'd discover that phone had been disabled due to my not using it. So I'd never get to use it the few times I wanted to. Then unfortunately my son accidentally threw it away and I had to get a new phone. New phone came with conditions that were certainly not understood by me. I just wanted phone I could use for the basic plan, can't afford monthly fees. It's been 4 months of back and forth with them via email and today they tell me they've cancelled my account because I disputed their fees with my credit card company. Cannot be reinstated so now I have a phone I cannot use and no emergency phone. I told them I demanded then that they refund my money for the phone as it still is in original packaging and has never been opened. I believe they're going to say no because it was not within 30 days (even though we've communicated since June on this).
Freedom Pop is a absolutely worthless service. One phone will tell me I'm in a roaming area and need to buy a PIN number and it was working a short time back now it will only work with WIFI and if you are not in a WIFI it will not work at all. The second phone when I call a number that is not in freedom pop I am told that it is not an allocated number. Freedom pop is absolutely worthless.
I can't beleive it! I own my phone and paid 99 cents for a freedompop SIM card. Then I got a free trial of the 6 month plan with unlimited talk, text and 2gb of data with premier phone service. The full price of that plan is 98.88. That breaks down to 12.99 & 3.49 a month. This is a savings of over $80 A month on the same kind of plan with Verizon!
The company loses only 1 star because after my free trial was up, I downgraded to the fully free account and deactivated auto refill. This only cost $5 which is a credit in my account for accidental overages. This is not the issue. The star is removed for ads in my messenger and no more access to voicemail. If those were changed it would be perfect. But for FREE, I can live with that!
Great coverage and never had a problem with the service. Will be getting another number soon! Currently using the 3-1 LTE sim card in my LG G Pad X with no worries.
Answer: I know of three telephone #s for "Freedompop": 800-228-9207 888-743-8107 855-703-5785 If you can't reach a representative at any of these #s (I very recently had success with 888-743-8107 and they helped me with my billing issue), GO TO FREEDOMPOP.COM AND LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT (hope you remember your password!). THEN, CLICK ON (or, just hover over) "MY ACCOUNT" ATOP PAGE From its drop-down list, THEN CHOOSE "ACCOUNT SETTINGS" At the bottom of that page, you should see "DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT." (Click on it and follow subsequent instructions)
Answer: Because they rip you of with small amounts (on a monthly basis), so many don't realize, once you do it's too late, and for the last charge you dispute it, but you don't care wasting time to report this... And those who are really on top and make sure not to be overbilled, they make sure to tell you that they are selling all their to a new carrier, so they get rid of you!
Answer: No you cant, they are garbage, not worth wasting your time on
Answer: Get away from these people soon as possible! You are going to have to change your credit card soon.
