I think Gazelle provided quick service and a fair price for my devices. I would use them again. It was easy to use the prepaid mailing containers which were sent ahead of time. Upon inspection of one device they even upped their offer and paid me more! Extreme honesty.
Stay away from gazelle my phone was flawless they told me it wasn't. I asked for my phone back and they deliberately put scratches on it I use a screen protector and spend a lot of money to keep my phone safe. I am so disgusted and aggravated that people could actually do this they ruined my phone now I can't get the full amount I should be getting from another site.
The few times I've submitted items on the Gazelle website, I found the quotes to be sub-par, so I didn't pursue them. In that respect I can understand the frustration of many here, but perhaps I can offer a suggestion or two to save someone a lot of potential grief. First off, ALWAYS remove the SIM card from your phone before you send it anywhere. Your SIM card is registered to your wireless number and contains sensitive data about your phone and wireless account, so mailing it to someone you don't know could potentially open a Pandora's Box of security risks. Rule of thumb - it's best to guard your SIM card as you would your credit card. And as far as Gazelle and companies like it are concerned, understand that they are basically online pawn brokers, and a pawn broker is NEVER going to give you top dollar for what you trade in. Nonetheless, if you want to go that route, it's best to deal with a local second-hand store where at least you can haggle with someone face-to-face and walk out with what you came in with if you don't like the offer. I know sites like Craigslist and eBay can be a hassle sometimes, but I've found that if I'm willing to put in a little extra effort, I can always get more for used electronics on the open market. The allure of Gazelle is not money, but convenience, and there's the trade-off. If you want to gamble on a quick buck with little effort, then Gazelle is probably your vehicle. Alternately, if you're willing to invest a little more in the selling process, you'll stand to get more in return.
I have used Gazelle before and the experience had been great! Easy to use they say what they mean and they mean what they say, no fuss no muss. Excellent.
Site, mailing, payment all taken care of with minimal hassle. Easy to follow instructions and no issues. Amazon gift card included addl 3% bonus. Will use again!
Update: I brought my IPad to Bestbuy and they offered me $60 and said it was in very good condition. It looks like Gazelle was hoping I would accept their lowball offer!
They offered me $126 for my ipad. When they inspected the iPad they offered me $9.00. I went back on their website and check what they would offer for the same ipad in the same condition.it was a max of $36.00 and a minimum of$26.00. They said I had too many scratches and dark spots on my screen. It seems like they do this often as per complaints on this site. I requested for my ipad to be returned. Hope they send the same one back in the same condition.
Tip for consumers:
Bring to a place and get and in house offer elsewhere.
Packaged my iPhone 7 up and made sure everything was turned off and reset to factory settings. They received the phone on Or about 11//18/18. I got another email two days later saying "hurry and send in your phone". Very odd. I finally checked the website on the 24th of November and it said "please contact us we need more info". I mean what company would not email you to say this? I emailed them and asked what info they need. They stated they wanted to ask if I turned off find my iPhone and everything else. Lol. I mean to reset to factory settings you have to do this, if they'd just turn on the phone they'd see it was reset. If they'd emailed me prior and asked I could have said yes. I reply and say yes. I wait and wait and now it's December 10th, this after saying it'll only take 3-5 days to check it in. Over two weeks! I email and ask what the hell is going on and they say "it looks like maybe the phone is still tied to an account". Again, you wait two weeks and for me to email to say this? Insane to me. I said screw you send the fuc**ng phone back. Please please avoid this company. There are WAY too many companies that offer to buy your phone and pay the same or more. Don't do it! Worst experience ever.
I ordered a phone on 9/7 and they immediately charged me for it, of course. I received an order confirmation, but I never received shipping/tracking information. I emailed them on 9/12 about this and received no response. I emailed them again on 9/13 and received no response. I finally called them on 9/19. After waiting on hold for quite some time, they told me they didn't have my product in stock. They told me they didn't update me regarding the status of my order and didn't respond to my emails because they were just too busy. They finally shipped my product today, but they said they couldn't expedite shipping to overnight because the process--suddenly!--was already too deep with the warehouse to change anything. I'll finally get my phone on Saturday (projected delivery). Just keep customers updated if orders can't be fulfilled--and at the very least respond to repeated inquiries. End of the day: I'm getting charged for product and service they didn't deliver. I'm contemplating contacting the BBB.
The process was very easy and streamlined, got more through Gazelle for my old iPhone than trading in at VZW or BB. Getting the box mailed to me with everything I needed was wonderful.
I bought a used cellphone off their website; paid extra for fast shipping. They didn't get the phone sent until 2 days later, and was scheduled to get to me day 5 - so, exactly the same as if I'd used the free shipping. They didn't answer my email asking about it, let alone refund the $18 extra shipping charge. It was a sign of things to come.
FedEx was also terrible, they messed around saying the delivery was "delayed" a couple of times and finally admitted they lost the shipment. They investigated and gave me a case number; by the end of this process it was 11 days after my purchase.
But the worst was yet to come. I phoned Gazelle to tell them that the package was lost, with the Fedex tracking and case numbers. However, instead of, "Sorry, we'll send a replacement and we will deal with Fedex" I got, "We don't believe you and we're too lazy to check with Fedex. You need to file a hand-written and signed affidavit stating you didn't receive the phone, and then wait another 10 days after Fedex said they lost the phone before we will consider giving you a refund". It took me 3 tries to get the affidavit exactly as they wanted it; what a wonderful way to waste my time while I'm trying to get my work done and keep my job.
So here it is, now 22 days after I paid almost $600 for a phone, and I got nothing except a $600 hole in my bank account. I had to call them today (a day after the refund should have been issued) to see if anything was happening and they put me off, "we have to talk to corporate about it, we'll get back to you". They finally sent me an email saying they'd refund it - and I'll get my money back in 5-7 days...
4 weeks to get a refund for a phone I never received. What bulls--t. I'm never using this awful company again.
Please don't go with this company, i sent them a brand new barely used Samsung S20 Ultra, I had the phone less than a year, never dropped it had no scratches etc. I video tape and took pictures of my phone before i sent to cover my self the offer went from $635 to $134, because they lied about the condition of my phone, i declined the offer, i received my phone back but I'm not sure if this is the same phone i sent, it has indention on the cover like the phone cover may have been switched to show the IME of the phone i sent, i'm not sure but i am definitely going to research and get it checked out, i have the box with the IME on it but i need to see if companies can change things on the phone because this doesn't look like the phone i sent them and it has dings on it that mine did not have.
Sold my 6s; this is my second experience with Gazellr; always great and always professional! No problems and immediate payment through PayPal as promised!
The WORST customer service experience I have ever received... I sent them my brand new computer upon receiving an offer from them and once they received it they claimed it was a much older model (which, I know, obviously is wrong) and lowered their offer. I refused the offer thinking they were crazy and incompetent and asked for my computer back. They then left me a voicemail saying they had sent me the wrong item and that they found my item and to call them back asap. I called them back and they told me to wait until I had received the wrong item and then call them back. So I waited and once I got the wrong item, it was the older model that they had claimed I sent them. So I called them back like they told me to once I got the wrong item and had to go through a couple different people because they had "trouble connecting me to the senior customer service" manager. Finally, he criticized me for accepting the package in the first place. Which I had no control over since they left the package while I was out. And then he took a very long time doing I don't know what and finally asked me to send the item back. I said I wouldn't send it back until they sent me mine. He didn't like that but I told him I was under the impression that they were going to steal my computer. He said he communicated with the warehouse and that they'd send it back to me. I am now waiting to get MY computer back from these guys and once I do, I will send them the item they 'mistakenly' sent me. I'd say incompetent, but until I get my machine back, I am feeling like they just screwed me.
STAY AWAY!
I had used gazelle in the past and had no problem. This time I sent in two iPhones (7plus) after agreeing to $342 for both. I got an email on 6/20 that they received my box. Today, 8/3, I emailed them asking for a status on my check and they wrote back saying the order was canceled because the box arrived empty?
I find it highly suspect that they could email me that the box was received but then radio silence afterward. Why didn't they email me that the order was canceled and that the box was empty?
It has to be someone at gazelle who stole both phones. Unbelievable.
I called their customer service and was told to call the USPS to see what they had to say. Without any package tracking info that will be a waste of time. Even with tracking all they would be able to say is when it was delivered.
I'm positive that someone at gazelle stole these two iPhones. Just today I've had three extremely suspicious calls from what looked like my old contact information from my old phone. What the hell?
STAY AWAY FROM GAZELLE AT ALL COSTS!
It couldn't have been simpler to sell my phone to Gazelle. They honored the price they quoted me and were super fast. I will always use Gazelle to sell my Apple devices!
12/28/23 - Absolutely the worst experience I have had with an online retailer. They have had my iPad since December 20 and every time I call they tell me I will have an offer in my email the next day which has still not happened as of now. Last call was yesterday and I was left on hold for over two hours. Nobody knows where my iPad is or what's going on with it. Do not trust them. Huge scam.
1-3-23 UPDATE: Sat on hold for another 3 hours to be told that 7-10 business days from Dec 20th isn't really in effect because they are so far behind. They didn't know when I would hear from someone but to keep checking weekly for updates. Weekly?
Why wouldn't someone tell a customer that they are that far behind!?! Still couldn't tell me if they even knew where it was.
UPDATE: Here we are January 9th - never had anyone from Gazelle reach out. Have since then called two more times only to be put in an endless on hold loop. I guess lesson learned on my end. Complete loss for me. Estimate payout was $529 - I got nothing except the run around and a loss of many many hours on hold. SHAME ON YOU GAZELLE!
I was a little leary of giving Gazelle a try due to the mixed reviews I had read but everything worked out perfectly & I couldn't be happier! I sold my 9.7" Ipad Pro 32gb and my Android Google Nexus 9 16gb tablet to Gazelle to make some extra cash. Gazelle definitely was the best option for my Nexus 9 and offered the best quote. I choose to ship the item myself in my own packaging, making sure to pack it well and shipped it out the next day after receiving my emailed label. It took Gazelle about 3 days to receive the item and they inspected it fairly quickly as well. I received an email about the status and that my items were like I had described and that money would be sent. I received the offer that I was quoted( I listed both items in excellent condition) and with in days had the money in my account via paypal option. It was quick and painless and super easy! I will definitely give Gazelle a try again when I need to trade in other electronics, my only negative is that I wish they would let you sell/trade in apple watches and apple pencils. Other than that I had a A+ experience and would use them again in the future if needed.
I'm a student in college and obviously in dire need of some sort of computer. After mine was broken by another person last year, I finally was able to purchase another through refurb me. Which rerouted me to gazelle and I purchased a macbook air from their site. The laptop will not charge and will not stay on unless connected to the power source. Which means I cannot use it unless I am at home or just so happen to be next to an outlet while in public. I dont even understand why the computer was approved to be resold considering it doesn't even work properly. I have tried every single thing to fix the issue and have researched for hours in hopes of finding any helpful info. The company told me they would issue a refund after I sent the laptop back, but I purchased mine at a sale price and will not be able to get the same laptop for the same price. I cannot believe I wasted my time buying from this site that isn't helping me in anyway. I have assignments that need to be done, not to mention the added stress of having to figure out what to do about a new computer. I try to have a positive attitude towards online resellers but clearly, I shouldn't.
When Gazelle first started they always gave a fair rate for anything sold to them (bout 4 years ago). I handle our company's cell phone account which is very large (about 500 lines) and anytime I upgrade a deviceI would sell the previous phone to Gazelle, so I used them ALOT. Now they are HORRIBLE. I am very tech savvy and since I work with phones and tablets on a daily basis I definitely know what make/model/GB and how to determine condition. After sending them a couple phones this last time, they tried to tell me that there was excessive scratches and the model of the phone was different than entered. I couldn't help but laugh at the incompetency of whoever wrote that. They obviously had no idea what they were doing because I am 110% positive on the make/model/GB for the phones sent to them and I do not bother sending in damaged devices it's not worth my time. If it's badly scratched or damaged I recycle them. They were trying to find a reason to low ball he price compared to what was quoted. I told them to return my device and I found another site that accepted the devices and actually gave me what the phones were worth. I used to recommend this site to everyone I know for getting rid of previous phones for the best value. Now, this site is a joke. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother.
Sent in my iPhone X 64GB to Gazelle, they initially offered me $174.00. Now this phone had been in a case and glass screen protector from day 1!. In fact if I were to hand it to you, you would think it was new! I also told them it was a Verizon phone.
I get a response back saying:" We found that the device has more than the acceptable amount of scratches" WTF? I said send me a picture of the scratches, of course they didn't. They also said: Model Change: You identified your gadget as an Apple iPhone X 64GB (Verizon), but it is actually an Apple iPhone X 64GB (Unlocked). We discovered that the Cell Phone you sent in is actually a different model. Because different models have distinct values, this affects the offer we can make.
Ok, so I forgot that it was unlocked, so I go back to their website and configure two separate phones. One with no scratches and Unlocked, And one with no scratches from Verizon. Both came back with identical offers of $174.00. So they lied about the scratches, and lied about being Verizon or unlocked affecting value. I'm sure once people send in their phones and the offer is much less, they just agree and get whatever they offer... THIS IS ONE SHADY COMPANY!
Purchased a 64GB iPhone X from Gazelle because I bought a MacBook Pro and had a good experience and was hoping for the same. IPhone arrives and i goto AT&T's website and do an IMEI check to find out that the iPhone is still being paid for by the original owner. Contacted Gazelle thinking they would cross ship a new phone with me. At first they said they would have to put me through a return process and i pushed them on it because i wanted an exchange not my money back. They said in order to ship me a new device they would need to see that the "stolen" device they sent me was in shipping back to them. I now feel that i have no device, no money and no recourse. Have not received any information from them, since they now know that there getting there device back without having to show proof that a different one is on its way to me. Someone should report them to the BBB, and perhaps with the ability of people to finance equipment they may need to change there business model. This can work if they can get co-operation from the carriers and only then can it work. Going to try again to get them to ship me a different device.
Cannot imagine anything being easier. Will happily use again. My first exprience with selling Ipads was on Craigslist and I did not care for that at all.
I have used Gazelle b4 and the experience has always been without hassle. Instructions are very simple as 1, 2, 3. My payment came as promised!
Thank you for making it so easy to sell my iPhone. Simple and very happy with the price! Will definitely use the site again.
The best, fastest and easiest way to get a fair price for your old electronics. Money is in my PayPal account within a day or so. Brilliant!
