Due to an accident that left me with limited finger dexterity, I needed a shoe without shoe strings. The Gravity Defyer fit the bill in that it has Velcro straps plus it's super comfortable and lightweight - yet another plus feature.
After wearing these hiking boots a few times ( more than the return period) I started to experience extreme back pain, called customer service, they had no tech specification on the drop from heel to toe, seems they are trying to hide this info. The guy didn't even know what to call it, refused to take a comment to his company. I think it must be a deep drop ( over 11 cm). Most good shoe manufacturers will give you that information. Suggest you not but these if you have any back issues. Wearing these is like wearing high heels to hike. Not advised.
I have purchased 2 pair of sandals from Gravity defyer recently and am completely satisfied, they feel great on and the higher arch defineately helps with my posture. I will be purchasing from again. I recommend this company.
I will never buy from them again. One of 2 prs of shoes I bought (Nova) wouldn't even feet my left foot though I went a full size up. I returned with proof of their receipt a week ago. When it was not acknowledged, I wrote to Customer Service twice -both unacknowledged. I can't review Nova because I bought them as a Guest with an auto-generated password. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.
I have severe damage and limited movement in both ankles due to a motorcycle accident. I had to return one pair and the process was quick and easy. I have three different style of athletic shoes and two pairs of sandals. I wear the sandals around the house instead of slippers and they save me a lot of pain. The shoes allow me to work and play more than we ever thought possible. I would recommend them for anyone with arthritis and limited motion like I have. I also use the Gravity Defyer orthopedic inserts which I prefer to the pair I bought from my foot doctor.
I ordered my second pair in May. It is now July 23 and still haven't received my shoes. I have been given 4 different shipping dates by 4 different reps. All 4 specifically said the shipping date they provided was solid, but I have still not received an e-mail saying they actually shipped them.

My original Gravity Defyer Ion shoes were amazing. When they started to wear out, I ordered a new pair. What a disappointment... they went from leather uppers(allowed for work) to a little leather and mostly mesh(not "legal" for my work anymore), and they have hard ankle shanks in them that are horrible. Not to mention after just a few months, they started to tear on the sides where the toes meet the foot. For $150, I was surprised by the downslide in quality. Not to mention comfort. This new cheap version is hardly a replacement for the most comfy shoes I ever wore- they look cheap, and they wore out prematurely. My feet were unhappy and I started having foot pain, relating to the shoes starting to "list" to the outside- my husband said I was walking sideways(after only a few months). Sorry Gravity Defyer, your new shoes are worse than Skechers- they cost 4 times more and fall apart in the same amount of time. I'm heartbroken that I've had to choose a new shoe~
I seen the ads and said OK, I'll give them a try, Lord knows I've spent LOT of money on shoes here the last few years, To help my sore feet. So I order and get them, Yes, I can say they felt pretty good there for a while & Seem to help me for a while. I work a 9 hr. Day on concrete floors do lot of walking, On my feet a lot... And As I said They did seem to help there for a while, Few months into them, Both had a tear place in the top seem In the same place on each shoe. About a half inch to a inch long. For what I paid for them, This should not be happening... I e-mail them and got the* Well You have had them a number of days now and depends on what you do and if warranty is still good on them* I should of told them sooner of the seems coming apart, My fault there, But $139.00 dollar shoe should not come apart like these have. Did they help me in my walking, Yes some, will say. But not to the tune of $139.00 don't think of my hard earned money... Did they help, Me anyway...
Unbelievable! I actually thought I might've been sent the wrong shoes. These are by far the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever had on. It feels like I have a pair of high heeled bricks on my feet.
I should have returned them right away, but I thought I would give them a more than fair shake.

I had a issue with gravity defyer company. I return my shoe and they charge me for the shipping, when I used there return slip. Once I aired my complaint Sarah O. Fixed the issue. They refund me the shipping cost and give me $25.00 on my next purchase to the company. She made me change my mind about this company. I will buy a pair of shoes from gravity defyer. If more companies would fix little thing like this, they would have more loyal customers. Who would love to purchase their products. Thank you Sarah O. And good job handling my issue.
Thank you Angela! We are happy when our customers are happy! Enjoy your new shoes!
I'm a retired veteran, on my feet all day. I tried this short boot/shoes with zipper sides in black. After awhile the upper started to move outward from the soles. Although no rips of the shoes the rippers tab's broke off so I was key-rings. The shoes are true to size so don't buy them bigger or smaller.
Sorry to write, I don't recommend this product for the price is high and for the quality of time and service I used.
I'm going to buy regular shoes, for I couldn't find benefits in these shoe product.
Tip for consumers:
Buy the size you wear.

I wore these shoes for one full day. They were heavy and uncomfortable. The next day I had the worst back ache of my life. After five days of terrible pain I went to an orthopedist who sent me to physical therapy. For 2 weeks I've been in therapy and still have pain. Don't buy these shoes without discussing with your doctor first.
All the reviews on Amazon were five star. After I left my three star review, ALL reviews were removed. Any company that does that is NOT trustworthy and someone I care to do business with. The shoes hurt my feet & lower back after wearing them three hours on my job, which requires a lot of standing and walking on concrete. The only reason I kept them is because I'm desperate and because I wore them on the job. The only warranty offered with these shoes is for defective materials, not a refund. Maybe an exchange, but I will never purchase shoes from Gravity Defyer again or recommend them to anyone else.
I have bought many pairs of walking shoes from this company. They were all true to size for my size 15 extra wide feet. I need the wide box toe and have never been disappointed with the product nor with the service.
Tip for consumers:
I have recently bought enough pairs of shoes to last 2 years.

I ordered a pair of shoes and then went to read reviews. I cancelled the order within 3 hours of ordering. Received computer generated reply but shoes were still shipped 2 days later. Once received, I tried walking in them for about 2 hours. I felt hobbled. My feet hurt and shoes were so stiff you really couldn't walk properly. I returned them and asked that I not be charged for shipping either way as I had cancelled the order in plenty of time. I finally received my refund one month after they received my shoes back (UPS tracking) and I was charged for shipping. Never order Gravity Defyer shoes.

My husband is a 10.5 sneaker & I am a 7.5. We ordered Gdefy in our size. Too small. So we ordered the next size up. Still too small. My husband & I never wore a shoe a whole size bigger. Plus they feel uncomfortable. Returned them. Waste of time. Also saw, after research they were sued by the Federal Trade Commission for false claims of stopping pain. Don't waste your time or money

I paid $21.00 fedex fee to receive sneakers in 3 business days. Third day they did not arrive and I was told they were only shipping that day. I said that was unacceptable. Supervisor said they would ship overnight and they would waive the fee. I also received email confirming they would ship overnight. Well the next day they DID NOT ARRIVE. I called company and was told they never shipped and they didn't know why! After him talking to the warehouse, supposedly they are shipping today (Friday) but I will not receive until Monday. Who knows if I will receive them then, AND if its even worth it after reading reviews of how horrible the sneakers are! If I could give 0 Stars I would.
I ordered a pair to use the 30 day free trial and they were so uncomfortable I returned them. Now they won't refund my credit card because they said I returned them in a not new condition. I totally disagree with that because they were clean. I only wore them two or three times because they were so hard and uncomfortable. How can you try something without wearing it?

The 1st time I bought these I was very excited because of what they promised. I bought 2 pair. Got them and they were both falling apart within a few months of use. However, they did seem to help my feet problems so I went ahead and bought 3 more pairs (3 only because they were discontinuing nearly all the double-wide options at the time). Same crap quality with them falling apart Very quickly. I've had other brands which have lasted me for YEARS. NONE of these lasted more than 6 months. And quite frankly, with my super expensive molded prescription shoe inserts, they don't do me any better than with other brands without the so-called trampoline springs. DEFINITELY not worth the money or the hype.
I complained that I did not know we were supposed to win our way up to wearing the shoes all the time by wearing them an hour one day and to the next however I did find the booklet in the box that told me that very thing so it was my own fault and I apologize. M
I'm a gravity defyer wearer. But! Purchased 2 mighty walks & they are not the same shoes like the coil ones were. These hurt my feet within a few hours. It's like they're squished down to the hard ground. Definately not like the ones with coils. Won't purchase again.
Tip for consumers:
If the shoes were comfortable all day. Design was changed & wondered if they were as good. They aren't

I bought a pair of men's gdefy shoes. They felt weird at first but I thought I would get used to them. They always made me feel like I was wearing high heels and after a month I noticed my lower back was kind of sore. I quit wearing them to see if that made a difference and within a week I felt fine again. Good for somebody else maybe but not for me. I am past the 30 day return policy so I guess I'm stuck with them. Maybe I will just give them to goodwill. Thanks anyway gdefy.
Waste of your money!
BS I'm trying to send them their box back with their shoes. I haven't gotten my return label. Still waiting! Be careful when you purchase from them. AAA should be aware they can be advertising them.
**** I wouldn't purchase again
I've had sciatica pain, knee pain, hip pain for a couple decades. I was skeptical about Gravity Defyer shoes, but my Uncle suggested I give them a try, so I did. I'm so glad I purchased the shoes! The shoes were awkward in the beginning because they're so different than regular shoes. Now regular shoes are an adjustment when I wear them. I highly recommend buying GD shoes if you experience pain.
Tip for consumers:
The shoes require time to get used to them.

I ordered sandals. There were so many useless Velcro straps and buckles I cut must of them off and rearranged and reseed what I could actually use. Sanders are comfortable but do not stand out as that much better than other brands I have
Sports shoes ordered size 7w received one size 7 one size 6 1/2. Forget the wide? Returned Almost 3 weeks ago. Have called three times with three promises of shipping right away. Still no shoes
Stay away from these people unless you do not mind spending over a month to get your order
These shoes really help me absorb the shock of hard surfaces when I walk which leads to a less affected back (pain)
I can only say good things about this company.
Especially their customer service. I had a question and wrote them on their facebook page and received an answer from a friendly rep almost immediately.
I also like how the sole has technology in it! I mean you are paying $145 for a pair of shoes that have integrated technology and a trampoline system within it! So that's a plus!
I also like how most shoes are genuine leather or nubac.
All good things. Btw I own 7 pairs! Keep up the good work GDEFY! I hope you start opening up more stores!
I've worn Gravity Defyers for about a month, most recently for two weeks in Spain, which has lots of cobblestone streets and uneven surfaces. The shoes' heels' contact surface is only 2-7/8" wide whereas the entire heel width is 3-3/4". That inequality makes the shoe laterally unstable, especially on uneven surfaces. I would not buy them again. Other than that major shortcoming, the shoes are comfortable.
