“Couldn't be more comfortable. Glad I have a pair!”

Larry D.

Due to an accident that left me with limited finger dexterity, I needed a shoe without shoe strings. The Gravity Defyer fit the bill in that it has Velcro straps plus it's super comfortable and lightweight - yet another plus feature.

“Deep drop from heel to toe causes extreme back pain. Customer service has no info on this tech spec”

anne c.
10/28/24

After wearing these hiking boots a few times ( more than the return period) I started to experience extreme back pain, called customer service, they had no tech specification on the drop from heel to toe, seems they are trying to hide this info. The guy didn't even know what to call it, refused to take a comment to his company. I think it must be a deep drop ( over 11 cm). Most good shoe manufacturers will give you that information. Suggest you not but these if you have any back issues. Wearing these is like wearing high heels to hike. Not advised.

I won't bad mouth the company, but I am on my feet 6-8 hours a day and my feet hurt afterwards, I also have heel spurs. A friend told me about these and gave me a flyer and it sounded really good. I looked online and decided to try the GDefy Extora ll because it said they helped with ALL foot pain NOT! I expected to feel the heel kind of bounce (I guess) since there was a spring, I expected not to feel my feet hit the floor; but that's definitely not what I experienced! I wore these today for 6 hours, by the time I got home, my feet and especially my heels were hurting. They are heavy and feel like Herman Munster shoes, they made me sound like I was stomping even when I tried to walk softly. The upper "leather" is so stiff that it rubbed my ankles and caused them to get sore and swell, my feet feel very tired after wearing them for so long. I would not recommend this brand, but the others might be ok. I however have decided not to bother trying another expensive pair because I don't want to go through this again; I am returning them for a refund and sincerely hope I don't have all the troubles others have had with theirs. I am glad to read that there are those who have had great results with their chosen shoes! I guess we just never know until we try them right? :)

After 15 months the right heel is clicking. I figure i come down harder on the right heel than i do the left. Buying a pair of showers every year beats hip replacement surgery.

Shoes are painful to wear. Contacted the company and was advised to only wear them a couple of hours at a time and get back to them. I did but it was past the return date.

I purchased my shoes several months back and I just love them! Working on concrete floors was killing my feet and legs. After breaking them in after 2 days, I quit dreading work. I recommend them!

I have worn a pair of GDEFY atheletic shoes for appox. 7 months. I am 71 and have had back surgery 3 years ago. I had not been able to walk more than 50 yards without experiencing severe pain in my lower back. Wearing my GDEFY shoes I was able to walk without any pain for a much longer distance. I have been wearing SAS shoes which are very good shoes, but the SAS did not stop my lower back pain. I believe my GDEFY shoes are responsible for eliminating my lower back pain. I now own 3 pair of GDEFY shoes.

I ordered this sandal pictured here; https://www.gravitydefyer.com/tb7217fp-womens-ortal-sandals-blush, but instead was sent the sandal pictured in this link. https://www.gravitydefyer.com/tb7215fwg-womens-upbov-sandals-white-green. If they don't have the shoe you ordered they will send you another shoe. But they are not going to refund you. The code on the return slip didn't work. I emailed and emailed before a couple of days later being sent a return label. I immediately sent the sandals back unworn and well within the 60 days and they refuse to refund my money. They said the shoes have to be in like new condition. I didn't wear the shoes. I sent them back as soon as I was emailed the return label. What more could I do? Nothing, because their system is set up so that returns won't be accepted. This shoe was $80, I used a 20% off code, they sent me a $49.99 sandal instead. I'm owed $64. Buyer Beware!

Tip for consumers:
Don't purchase from them. It is hell to get a refund if you ever do. They are also currently being sued by the state of California over their claims. All of their CS has been farmed out overseas and when you call they never can give you a direct answer to your question. If you ask to be connected stateside or onshore, they say they can't connect you.

I printed out the sizing guide and confirmed that I wear a size 6, as in most of my other shoes. When I got these, they felt closer to a size 5. They were short and tight. Since it is holiday season, I wanted to return these and try again another time. At check out, I had clicked the "Free Home Try On! No risk. No charge. No kidding." option. So, I was surprised to see that I will be charged a return shipping fee of $9.95. Customer Service said that they could not credit me the $9.95 and tried to get me off the phone. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that she was busy with another customer. The agent assured me that the manager would return my call the same day if I left my phone number. I have not received a call. I did give my order number, so maybe there will be some follow-up. I feel scammed. I have ordered through Zappos many times and had excellent experiences. I have never been charged for returning shoes that didn't fit. I could have ordered GravityDefyers through Zappos and not had this issue. I do not want to interact with a company that misleads you into believing that you can try their product but will incur a $9.95 fee if you do not like it. It is just wrong. The shoes seemed well made and they came highly recommended by a friend. Do not trust their website. I have not given up but am not optimistic as two promises have now shown false.

Tip for consumers:
If you want GravityDefyer shoes, look for them on a more customer oriented, satisfaction guaranteed, free shipping and returns site (such as Zappos) The home site for these shoes charges return fees.

This place has great ads and you would think you are getting a shoe that would make you feel better like magic. I read the instructions about breaking them in slowly. The catch is if you want to return them they have to be like new. I thought the uppers were made of the cheapest material I had ever seen on a shoe. Not only did it look cheap and feel cheap, mine had the beginnings of a spot that was going to unravel. The shoe strings were also the nastiest cheapest things I had ever seen or felt. Mine also hit my ankle bones when I tried them on so they were never going to be comfortable. I packed them up and sent them back within a week of receiving. Then it took me over 2 weeks and 2 phone calls to get my refund. The second woman I talked to was also a snotty, condescending twerp. She told me I would get a refund within 2-3 weeks if they found the shoes to be in like new condition. She also said they had just received the shoe on the 29th although the FedEx tracking system said they were delivered on the 15th. Amazingly I received the refund the next day. This is not a company I want to do business with.

Roughly 3 years ago and thousands of dollars later spent on sneakers my husband asked to look into the GDefy brand. Being on his feet for 14 hours a day and reading about how it was created, we decided to order a pair. Rge first pair arrived and appeared to wear well & aided in foot, ankle, and keg pain. This past May we decided to order another pair. We ordered the same sneaker gdefy ion in a different color. In less than 3 months the bottom of the shoes is falling off. I called customer service. The rep was uninformative, barely responsive and told me that rge only thing she could do was have a member of the sakes team call me back. To date I have never received a call! We have told many about the gdefy brand, from family to nurses to doctors to purchase this brand. However now that I see the customer service and the sales department is horrible that they truly Do Not Stand Behind Their Brand, I will no longer do business with them and will make sure I that I don't recommend their shoe to anyone else!

I ALWAYS wear a women's size 11 in every other brand, but the Gdefy shoes came and are so small that I can't even get my custom orthotics inserted into them (clearly their sizing is wrong). They claim to have a 60-day no pain returns and exchange policy, yet refused to exchange for the correct size (they only make women's sizes up to 11 so I would have to go to a men's 10 for the equivalent of a women's 11 1/2) and for some absurd reason they will not exchange women's shoes for men's sizes even though I wanted the same exact shoe just half a size up! The extremely curt representative said I would have to refund (and it would take 30 days to go back on my credit, plus I would have to buy a new pair, but I bought the original unworn pair with holiday promotions they then refused to apply to the new pair. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told it would be 3-7 days until I would receive a callback. Only then did I search reviews on the company to learn the owner of the company is being sued for false claims about their shoes and tons of negative reviews about their customer service. BUYER BEWARE!

I ordered 2 pair for me and the hubs, and they were too tight for both of us, husband went with another company and loves those shoes for his plantar fascia. I decided to give them another chance, so I order another, same pair in diff color in wide and one shoe was tighter than the other, seem to be made smaller, wore them around house for 1/2 hour, and still didn't work for me, so I sent them back. Got an email from them that the shoes were not in new shape when they got them, and they want to give store credit. I want my money back, I sent them back same day, only wore half hour, so don't know what type of scam they are pulling, but if I wanted a stinking store credit, I woudn't need to keep sending back shoes. I cannot wear anything nor do I want to order anything more with them, so now trying to get my money back, as I know they are not truthful in the shoes that I sent back. I would NEVER ever order anything from them again, buyer BEWARE of this company. My sister was getting ready to put an order in, and after she seen what they did to me, she will not order from them either. Shame that you trust companies to treat you right, and then the just want to scam you and take your hard earned money.

I checked them out online, talked to a rep, asking if the shoes were true to size. He assured me that they were. I ordered 1 pair because I was on my feet, on cement, working 8 hours a day. I thought it would ease the stress on my feet because the shoes had springs in them. There was a 30 day guarantee on them and I asked the rep "What if they don't fit right and I have to return them? Does the 30 day return start over?" He said "No, you will just have whatever days are remaining on that order." It took about 2 weeks for them to come in. They didn't fit right. I sent them back within the same week. I insured the pkj. They sent me an email when they received it and said they would process a refund within the next week or so. It took emails and finally finding where they were located, notifying the BBB in that area and then after 3 months, my money was finally refunded. I reported this on another site, measuredup.com also. I want people to know. Sadly, I had not looked at the reviews on that site until I had my problem with them. I was not alone in that. Many, many people had the same trouble as I did. I would not even give them one star but I had to do at least that to submit.

I purchased 3 shoes with this Brand with the Gravity Dfyer company. Then after a year, so sudden we noticed that the front and side it's netting, so i emailed them, and had me sent a photo from front, side and bottom, the shoes i hardly wear and they said that they base it on their investigation that they will replace it and extend the warranty, although i bought this shoes more than a year. But we hardly wear this shoes. So i sent back the 3 shoes and the $29 plus for S/H. The shoes was shipped back to them on April 24,2022 and they recieved it in April 27,2022. So i called today May 10,2022 and this two people that i speak with, one is really rude, very rude, the next one was arrogant. So sudden she sounded like asking me all this question, i was like, well i was told to send the shoes back and they will replace it. They must have seen it that the shoes still not being abused. And still in a good shape, except it was netting. I even recommend this shoes to all my Co. Workers. And bought the shoes. And even some of my families bought this shoes. I was told to send it, then when i was following it up, it sounded like they don't wanna do what they promise me. I wish i can post the email on here. The customer service really bad. One of this customer even hang up on me, because i said a lot of thing. And said she could not address the issue, so she said she will hang up the phone. So she did. But i called back. Then they sent me all this email. And said it will take 5-7days to process. And when i emailed them, they did not bother to reply on my question anymore.

I had purchased a pair, waited for delivery, tried them on and had to re-order... wait for delivery again... tried on the 2nd pair and that's honestly the only downside. I have been wearing the GDefy Mighty Walk sneakers with insoles (included) now for about a year and once you get your correct fit... these shoes are super comfy and supportive. I definitely feel the difference between GDefy and previous footwear. They are supportive, comfortable and lightweight. I bought and wear the Mighty Walk; haven't tried on the Ion though. The Mighty walk sneakers are breathable so my feet don't sweat, but they are not water-proof or resistant so I dont recommend wearing them on rainy days and obviously not in snow either. Traction is fine. I have never slipped in the entire year wearing them. Also the material hasn't separated nor has the sole worn unevenly which I have experienced within the first year with other shoes such as Skechers, Dr. Scholl's and Merrell. The most important feedback I have regarding these shoes is the sizing since they're made in China, sizing seems to be a real issue; quality is not an issue at all however. All the footwear I have bought has always been size 10 Wide. But I have found with Gravity Defyer that I needed to increase both the size and width to the next possible increment. My GDefy Mighty Walk shoes that actually fit after trial and error are size 10.5 XW (extra wide). So go ahead and order confidently but order a half size bigger and possibly go wide or extra wide.

Tip for consumers:
Warning from experience: you will not receive a refund, only credit or an exchange will be offered by the returns dept. if there is even a speck of dust or dirt on the returned footwear. This happened to me after trying on a pair for half a day, cleaning them and sending them back.

Poor design not for normal foot wear. Sole was too hard, odd look, sore legs. No refund issued, only a store credit.

Tip for consumers:
If you don't have plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, arthritic conditions etc, don't buy! Soles are too hard to break in for older people, the break in period is hard and you'll
have achey legs. If you wore these outside and felt uncomfortable, no refund just an, exchange or store credit. Unfair for older people. Terrible! I buy sneakers regularly, never like this. Very much like a Vionic! Horrible!

I spent two and a half hours this morning, trying to order a pair of your shoes that I desperately need to have here before my surgery next Tuesday. Your web site had technical issues and it would not accept payment. My wife tried a credit card of her own, and it has a $30,000 thousand dollar limit on the card. Your web site rejected it so she called her bank. She was nearly late to work, and she waited on hold while she was transferred several times to other representatives. When they finally got her to the right person, he told her that there were no security blocks on her card, and that the failed transaction with gdefy had not raised any red flags on her account. We tried to complete the purchase again, and your web site again declined to process the payment.
I took out one of my own cards, which had a zero balance on it; a Mastercard. I cleared the browser and logged back into the web page once again. I input the card information and carefully entered the CVV code. Your web site once again declined to process the payment, so I called my bank and spoke to them about the issue. The banking representative assured me that no security blocks were placed on my card, and that no flags were raised about the transaction. She told me that the transaction had been declined due to your web page transposing a different number for my CVV code, than the one that is printed on the back of the card. I tried to complete the purchase again, while I had her on the phone, and again, your web site refused to process the payment. I picked up the phone and called your customer service line for the fourth time. I asked your representative in the Philippines to put the number in manually and explained to her what the problem was on your end. She denied that there was any issue, so I asked her how my bank could receive a different CVV number other than the one that was printed on my card. She did not have an answer for that and blamed the troubles on my inputting a different number on your web page.
I want you to know that I am highly dissatisfied with your customer service, and I will leave a review about it.

Tip for consumers:

Buyer Beware as they say. If you buy Gravity Defeyer Shoes, be sure to keep their rwarranty in mind AND make sure you keep all your paperwork. I made the mistake of buying two pairs of shoes, one as a gift for my daughter and one for myself. At the time they apparently had a 60 day return policy, which I didn't notice. Because they were on sale, I purchased them and did not open the boxes until Christmas which was about 2 months after my purchase. The shoes fit both my daughter and me tight, especially at the toe area. I ordered both in size 9 as we use size 8 1/2 so I was surprised that they were so tight. We figured that the material at the toe area would soften once we wore them a while and would no longer feel as though it was causing ingrown toenails. We both kept wearing the shoe for a couple of hours each day, however they were beginning to hurt more and more. A week or so after Christmas, I contacted the company and told them of the problem, explaining that we had only worn the shoes indoors, mainly on carpeted areas. They informed me of the 60 day return policy so I asked to exchange them for another style or for the same style in a larger size. They refused to work with me. Recently, I contacted them again and they were more compliant, stating that if I sent them the receipt they may be able to help me. I explained that not only did I not have the receipt as I had been told they would not grant a refund, I had also tried to cut the toe area out of my pair so I could use them on camping trips as I did not want to lose out completely on shoes that I paid around $150 a pair. I sent pictures of the shoes and of the labels in the shoes showing the size and materials. They said they would search for my record of purchase. They said they could not find the record. How convenient. They didn't back up their product then and they are not backing it up now.
