Due to an accident that left me with limited finger dexterity, I needed a shoe without shoe strings. The Gravity Defyer fit the bill in that it has Velcro straps plus it's super comfortable and lightweight - yet another plus feature.
After wearing these hiking boots a few times ( more than the return period) I started to experience extreme back pain, called customer service, they had no tech specification on the drop from heel to toe, seems they are trying to hide this info. The guy didn't even know what to call it, refused to take a comment to his company. I think it must be a deep drop ( over 11 cm). Most good shoe manufacturers will give you that information. Suggest you not but these if you have any back issues. Wearing these is like wearing high heels to hike. Not advised.
On my second pair, first pair was tight so I went up a 1/2 size from normal on second pair. These shoes feel wonderful especially when I have to work in factory (12 hours on metal floor). Once you get sizing down they are great except for the fact that the springs start to make noise after a few months and it is quite loud. Happened on both pairs. Not sure if I will buy more until they can resolve this issue. If they do I will be back!
I bought Gravity Defyer sneakers about six moths ago. Within weeks the tip of the sneakers had come off. I used crazy glue to try to repair them. I did this three times.
The next problem was when the springs just came out of the heel. There is no repair for this! These sneakers are just plain junk and probably made in China. I paid $150.00 for trash they call quality shoes. Take it from me don't buy them, just plain crap.
Why did the shank break loose? I have worn these shoes very little even though I have owned them for about 1.5 years. All of a sudden yesterday the shank broke loose and now the shoe makes a horrible noise with every step.
I didn't wear them often, because as an older adult these shoes made me feel off balance.
I purchased the shoes, wore them in my house as recommended by them and returned shoes because they were making my heel injury worse. I had possession of them for 10 days. They were shipped back and received by GD. Twenty days later I contacted them and asked about my credit. I got an email that they were in "not like new" condition and so would not do a refund but told me they would give me a credit to purchase their products. These were the most expensive shoes I had ever purchased. Conveniently they had no phone number in the email to make the process more difficult, no photo to support their claim and the store credit was impossible to verify because I had checked out as a guest shopper. They are running a scam. Do not buy from them.
This company is awful when it comes to refunding your money. I bought two pairs of shoes from them for a total of $290, one men's and one women's, which did not fit. Was able to quickly return and exchange both pairs, which they for some reason charged me $155 and the same day credited me $155 so it cancelled the credit, which I wasn't expecting because it was an even exchange, The women's pair did not fit again, so I got authorization to return them for a refund. Gravity acknowledge receiving the shoes on 8/29 but still will not issue me a refund! The shoes were only tried on in my home and never worn. This is January and I am still trying to get my refund.
Tip for consumers:
Be real careful with any returns!

If you intend to buy from this company be prepare to talk with sales reps. Who don't know much about their products. Just talked with the lead sales rep. About the Heston mens sandal. I asked if the straps are adjustable I see buckles on them. See said and I quote "they look like they are" I said what do you mean looks like. She had no idea and this is the person in charge. This is how it's been with all the sales reps I talked with. Pretty much all I ordered I had to return do to they told me one thing and I got another. Also the footwear isn't that great. Hope this helps you if you intend to purchase from them. Good Luck!
Tip for consumers:
They have no idea that a size 11-1/2 in one style of their sneaker is a size 12 in another style of their sneaker. Same with the sandals. How do they not know this??

I bought 2 pair of these shoes. Even though both are supposed to be the same size, one pair (different style) is smaller and hurts my feet to wear. I can not feel the effect of the springs. The shoes are falling apart. Poor quality for the price paid. I emailed the company about that but got no satisfaction.
They ship fast but if you have a return, beware. I bought two pair and needed to exchange one pair and get a refund for the other. They received my returns over three weeks ago and I've made numerous attempts to call them and still have not received my exchange or refund.? Buyer beware.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t do returns. Terrible service...no exchange or refund even though they received my return 3 weeks ago. I’ve called and emailed and and they just say it’s being processed. For such expensive shoes, service is the worst. They also say purchasing is free shipping but what they don’t say is they subtract shipping on returns.

This footwear sounds like a great idea, however, my four stars are for all the people that wrote the very informative reviews. Many thanks for saving me the cost of purchasing two pairs of Gravity Defyers. I will check them out again in a few years to see if they improved their product as well as customer service.
Hello Paul, So sorry for the late response, we have just unlocked our site jabber account to communicate with customers like you. We had issues with some of our designs in the past, this is why we have removed metal springs from our new designs and replaced them with synthetic springs. The technology has not change, just the material and it is working better than ever! You can find these new styles here> http://gravitydefyer.com/search?query=omega
Beware of this company! According to the FTC, they've scammed over 100,000 seniors with their fraudulent advertising claims about their shoes. Here's a link: https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2022/06/federal-trade-commission-sues-gravity-defyer-its-owner-violating-ftc-order-making-baseless-pain-relief-claims
I bought my father a pair of their $210 hiking boots, which fell apart after only being worn a total a month. I sent them pictures of the sole that had literally come off, & all they did was offer me 20% off a new pair. Now why in the world would I want to spend any more money with this company when they don't even stand behind their products & sell shotty quality shoes! In my opinion, New Balance are much better quality at half the price.
Unless you don't care where your running shoes are made and you don't mind incompetent customer service, find another option. Gravity Defyer (GD) shoes are made in China. I ordered a pair of running shoes on 4/8/22. Upon discovering where they were made, i returned the shoes to GD, unused, on the same day i received them. As 4/20/22, GD received the shoes and stated via email that the return was "under processing". As of 6/1/22, i have yet to receive a refund. I never even tried on the shoes, so the refund should have been immediate, and certainly as of 4/20/22. My first call to their customer service was on May 3. The GD representative said they had received the shoes and would process my refund. I called on June 1, same response, and the GD rep said they would "begin the investigation." I requested a supervisor. GD rep said one would call me back within 24-48 hours. Unimpressive, to say the least and probably indicative of the quality of product you're getting from GD.
In less than 5 months my "Mighty Walk Athletic Shoes" are worn out. I am not overweight, walk an average of 50 miles/month and one side of the heel on each shoe is just gone. Customer service offered a 30% discount on the next pair. My Asics and Nikes lasted longer.
I think the design concept for this shoe works best on a very flat surface. Walking on a "crowned" asphalt street seems like swimming uphill.
Tip for consumers:
Shoes seem designed for use on even surfaces.

Ordered a pair of $165 walking shoes for my wife who had painful foot issues; could have bought a different brand same day in the mall but liked the idea of the 2-day shipping so took a chance, chose 2-day, was walked through the purchase process then basically dumped out with purchase confirmation for 5-7 day shipping. Apparently, the $20 2-day shipping simply fell off the order and was completely forgotten. Now, my poor wife gets to wait an additional 5 days in pain because the website couldn't negotiate 2-day add-on shipping and never mentioned that fact during purchase. Poor experience. Buy from Amazon.
I ordered a pair of these, but there were so many holes for the laces that I could not work them because I have arthritis I sent them back and they would not refund my money, but gave me a "store credit." I ordered a pair with velcro fasteners. The tongue of that style shoe came up so high on the front of my leg, at the ankle, that it rubbed a blister on the front of my leg. I sent them back and they would not refund my money. I feel that I have made an honest effort to wear their product, but they just do not fit my feet. So unless you can afford to lose $180, plus shipping, don't buyt these!
Got another pair of Gravity Defyer's and they are the most comfortable shoe I've had in a long time. Got two different insoles with them and both feel like I'm walking on air. Am suggesting that my husband buy a pair.
I have been trying to get a return label from this company since March 2020. FedEx can't read the one that was provided. I wanted to exchange for a larger size. They won't return my emails or telephone calls. Now I just want my money back. Wow, worst of the worst companies of all times. There are a lot of other companies offering the same quality sneaker. Go with any of them. Stay away from Gravity Defyer!
Caveat emptor. I purchased a pair ($130- Super Walk) in Sep of 2014, found them to be uncomfortable due to inadequate support and cushioning (similar to shoes selling for $60). Other than the quality of the shoe, the fun began when I returned them per the guarantee of a refund in 30 days. It required a few calls and emails to learn that, after 45 days, my refund request was still 'being processed'. Inquiring about the CEO, Tim Wallace, finally got them to honor the refund guarantee. Much different experience than with Shoebuy or Zappo.
I purchased a pair of gravity Defyer tennis shoes, due my chronic leg pain and cramping and their claim of relieving pain. I wore these shoes, while visiting Disney land. I walked from ten am to nine pm. Without any pain what so ever. I am truly amazed. I will never purchase any other brand.
Very excited to try these shoes although they did not work for me. I was supposed to have a free return label which I emailed them numerous times and they never would respond to me so I went ahead and paid to ship the shoes back in like new condition because they just were not right for me and they refused to give me a refund. Not a damn thing was wrong with these shoes and I will fight this. $#*!ty $#*!ty customer service
First I paid for two day delivery got them in three days that was a waste of money what a gimmick to make money. Ordered extra wide and they are no wider than a wide. After one week of walking the whole top leather is cracking. The shoes are hard as a rock to walk in bought intersole to put in them. Hardly any arch support at all. Bought them to wear after foot surgery. Total waste of my hard earned money and can't get a refund their 30 day refund is also a lie like the description of their shoes. Do not buy!
The one thing people don't understand is that if your feet do not have the correct arch support for a long time your body and the muscle have a memory. Their for if you don't know what type of arch support you need and you start to use a shoe that gives you that support for about 3 weeks your body will want to pull the muscles back into the position it is familiar with. Causing that pain the best solution is to go into a shoe store like The Walking Company that has professional staff members to identify the type of arch support you need. Don't by it on line.
I bought a pair of the black sneakers in May and they now have a hole in the top right section and also a tear in the back of the shoe revealing metal or hard plastic which caused a blister on my heel. Would not buy these shoes again.
These are the cheapest made shoes I've ever seen! I bought them mid January & its now beginning of April & the sole is detected on the bottom of one shoe. There is a hole on top of shoe already in other shoe! They help NONE whatsoever with my back pain! I have owned $30 shoes better than these! Dont waste your money! I wouldn't give one star for rating on these shoes but it makes you click one at least!

Hello Gloria, We believe that the spring in the heel is what broke. If a spring breaks it will feel loose and could make a noise. Can you please message us your order number so we contact you about a replacement. Thank you
