Bought an airport parking voucher and after many attempts at reserving online, I was told by the lot that it wasn't possible with my Groupon. And sure enough, it was there in the fine print (my bad). By the time I learned this, it was two days past the three-day refund deadline and after 30 minutes of searching for refund info on Groupon, I was online chatting with a person (or bot) who showed no mercy. So sad when a business is pennywise and pound foolish. Groupon lost my business with this one.
For the most part, groupon is a good concept run by greedy people. What does that mean for the business it advertises? Not so good. For instance, what consumers don't know is that groupon group takes 50% of the price of the groupon and gives 50% back to the advertiser. This means, the advertiser gets 25% of the groupon amount. Groupon gets the same amount for simply posting it on their site. Can someone say, unbalanced and unfair? I would recommend groupon to businesses that don't take too much of a hit to advertise with them as it is a very expensive form of advertising.
I purchased a Groupon for $79 and went to the company's website to use my Groupon. The item was on sale for $50! Groupon refused to cancel my order and refund my money. I contacted the company who had the product. They informed me that they had told Groupon about the sale and Groupon refused to make any adjustments. WOW GROUPON! Hope you enjoy that whopping $29, and it was worth it. I won't ever trust your website again and hope others see this and won't get ripped off by you too!
I recently purchased Garcinia Cambogia through the Groupon website (one of their deals). Then suddenly, I started receiving monthly supplies of a lower quality/reproduction brand, charging my credit card $79.92/month. Groupon was obviously used by a scam company. BUT the real problem was Groupon's dismissal of the matter, and failure to take any responsibility for the products they endorse through their coupons/deals! They tossed the responsibility back on me. Their policy is irresponsible and something to stay away from. Here is their reply:
Any purchases made on a third party website are not linked to Groupon and we would recommend checking with the purchases before processing the payment. I would recommend reaching out to the business who is supplying the products for any questions and refunds.
On 2 occasions I have placed an order on the same product that was ordered and both times a few days later Groupon was unable to provide the product. Issued a long letter via email (generic I'm sure) stating their apologies and how this was unacceptable and will be refunding me.
Well, being in Canada the refund is less in the end because of Visa fees. Groupon should be responsible for these fees especially when it is their fault for the refund to begin with.
FYI, the product was Dolce & Gabana Perfume and a Starbucks card that is only available in the U.S., but being sent through to Canadians.
These fees should be refunded directly to my credit card and not in Groupon Bucks. I will NEVER shop with Groupon again along with my friends and family. For a company which is growing and will not honour their mistakes fairly is unjust.
Buyer beware! They have nonexistent customer service. I ordered a sweater and it wasn't the size I ordered so I returned it but still have not received any confirmation or credit back from the company. I've sent the company 2 emails regarding the status of my credit but fortunately I purchased with credit card so hopefully AMEX can help me.
Beware of GROUPON GOODS. I bought a Christmas decoration and some Christmas presents. The return policy is 14 days from order date. The Christmas blowup took 3 weeks to get here ( that is what was promised) We waited 1 week to set it up, dont want decoration out to early, and it broke after 1 week. Since it is now over 30 days since ordered tough luck. I am now really concerned about the helicopter I bought fro my grandson. It is under the tree. If it is broken we have had it for 30 days already. Everyone else give extra time at Christmas and starts the clock when you get something not when you order something
O. K. so there was a two for one deal for North Meets South Jubilee on Group on and then on their website for the festival it has 50% off a single ticket so this is a scam for this event. Apparently the offer for the Evergreen Air Museum Wine Classic offered something that was not a 50% off and included beer and other things which consequently they ran out of.
Groupon is not watching the customers after the deals are done and people are getting ripped off. Not all the time but these two deals are not deals.
I have a lot of Groupons, and I know it can be a bit risky. But so far Groupon is the best coupon site I know of. I have been getting refunds or Groupon bucks when I have sour deals that don't work out (out of business, not delivered as expected, etc). I don't get that from the other voucher/coupon sites like LIvingSocial and others. And of course I love the deals.
I have been ordering from only merchants for some 15 years, and never had a problem that wasn't resolved within a reasonable amount of time. Until I ordered from Groupon that is. On January 14,2012, I ordered a Canvas World Map via Groupon's website for $19.00. Per Groupon's instructions, I proceeded to the website www.redtag.com to have my order shipped and paid an additional $2.95. After two weeks passed with no word on my order, I contacted RedTag about the shipping via email. In reply, on February 16,2012, Redtag replied indicating that I need to contact Groupon about the product, as they knew nothing about the product or the shipping. I emailed Groupon and Casey B from Customer Support responded by basically demurring. I have emailed Groupon multiple times with no result. I ordered my product over 45 days ago, it has yet to arrive and no one seems to know where it is. Stay away from this site!
I have been ideeli customer for a long time but recently I had a lot of problem with this company. HORRIBLE customer service and they messed up a few orders sending me the wrong items or used items. I have never got response form the customer service even they promised to get back to me on the next day. Also, there is always problem with the return process. They cant find item or process partially. So, I need to contact them every time and ask to resolve the problem and waiting for their respionse for ever. You need to watch to make sure that you get your refund back!
Hi Esfira,
Thank you for providing us with your feedback through SiteJabber. Our customer service agents should be contacting you on the dates that they say they will unless they are not in the office or we were experiencing a high volume of email and I'm sorry if they didn't get back to you by the promised date. I'd be happy to check into any unresolved issues for you in regards to wrong or damaged items that you've received or your refunds that didn't fully processed. If you have incorrect or damaged items in your return, the returns team at our fulfillment center can sometimes take a few days longer to process those items since they have to be handled in a different way than a regular return. If there are any refunds that are still unprocessed please send me a private message with the order and return information and I'll be happy to check this out and issue any refunds you are still due. I look forward to hearing back from you if any issues are still outstanding and resolving them on your behalf.
Best,

I purchased a local experience, viewed the groupon in order to get my voucher code, which is what I was supposed to do to redeem my groupon. When I went to book my appointment the event was completely booked, so my groupon was useless. I reached out to groupon and was told because I viewed the groupon they would not refund my money. I can't believe they would knowingly sell a groupon to an experience that was completely booked, then not refund my money. Beware, I will never purchase another groupon again. And VERY poor customer service on top of it all!
Groupon falsely advertised a Janet Jackson promo. After trying to order the tickets, I was informed my order was cancelled since the tickets were no longer available. However, hours later I received an email about the same deal. When I went to the site the offer was still available. Again the order failed. This happen another 2 times. Groupon supervision was unhelpful and not understanding. I wouldn't order concert tickets from Groupon again.
I bought a Groupon for an interior car vac service but the vendor closed shop any time it even sprinkled so I couldn't use it. Groupon refused to refund the cost or even let me trade it in. They wanted me to cash it in with the vendor and then I would have to pay the difference - which means I would be paying full price. What a rip-off!
Fraudulent organization, I Implore buyers not to do business with this particular organization. They are nothing like Amazon. Amazon is trustworthy, and caters to theIt clients. This particular group is fraudulent. Twice they took money from me without delivering the product. I put them in my spam folder and now their ads go straight to Spam. Thieves nothing but thieves!
I have been a ideeli.com customer for two years now and I have had nothing but good experiences with the website. I needed to return three non-returnable items and the customer representative rep replied the next day with a return shipping label.
I love their prices and their selection of items.
I have purchased and used several Groupons over the last 6-7 years or longer. (Not sure on years but it's been since the beginning.) This place always has great deals and If your going on vacation, make sure you plan ahead! This is a real place to get great services, meals, tours, etc for a low price and they are honored at the place you purchase it for!
Ordered a bag from this site and waited over a week for it to come. Opened the box and it was the wrong item. Emailed customer service and I was told the bag could not be switched out for the correct one. This was their mistake and now I'm out $30
Was told by a supervisor that I could only ever by one Groupon when the 'Fine Print' says one per customer. But I have bought many repeat Groupons to Fav. Restaurants before when it said one per customer. Told my buddy and he went online and bought the Groupon no problem even though he had bought the same deal 4 times last year. Bye bye Groupon.
I used to buy from Groupon a lot until one day, the shipping never arrived. USPS posted that the item irrived and it never did. I sent an email to Groupon and they told me there was nothing they could do. So basically, if you buy something from Groupon there is no security that you will get it after they charge you for the item. They do not do any refund or send you another one. Groupon is a fraud.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
Groupon has a rating of 1.6 stars from 5,286 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Groupon most frequently mention customer service, credit card and fine print. Groupon ranks 250th among Daily Deals sites.
