Hubzu has a rating of 2.5 stars from 318 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Hubzu most frequently mention real estate, earnest money, and credit card problems. Hubzu ranks 77th among Real Estate sites.
If you have the money and a modicum of intelligence it can be a godsend for savvy real estate investors. I bought a great fixer-upper that I'm thrilled with. It was a little scary the first time. I'm still using Hubzu looking for my next property. Pay attention, ask questions and read the contacts! Get an agent or attorney if you don't understand!
Behind there is a broker that sells out of the MLS. I made my offer, the time of the auction ended. The system said: "congratulations! You are the winner" and two minutes after the system accept another offer $ 500 more higher. The web portal has its own offer to raise the price automatically In customer service they never answered my complaint.
I recently had two conversations with Hubzu support personnel. Each representstive was very professional and eager to assist me with my questions and concerns. All of my questions and concerns were addressed to my satisfaction. I am very pleased with the support provided.
Same house 3 auctions. 1st auction my client was the high bidder with 5 people bidding and price value topping out, 2nd auction started $1000. 00 less than topped out price in auction #1. Not one person bid. 3rd auction went back to starting bid way below value. 5 bidders went back to $2000. 00 below highest bid on 1st auction. Site said researve not met again so unsuccessful. Now starting auction #4 (4th week) back at $1000 less than highest bid. We think that hubzu site see's the auto bid limit, bids it up, because we have been successful on auction 1 and 3 within $2,000 of our auto bid but have not met the researve. This is a scam! So many red flag's.
In Huzbu, you can see the same "bidder" bidding against himself/herself and some times increasing significantly the offer. Don't waste your time. They propably are trying only to increase the offer and to receive the 4.5% with some "suspect bidder" supporting to reach the desired price.
Overhaul. Everyone I spoke, tell me what to do to get what I am looking for. Like I said before before I lived in this for over 10 years, I am looking for options to keep it, I belong here. I also deserve to an options from altisource and ocwen to keep this property, everyone agree and ready to help if they can.

Site will not allow you to decrease offers and you run the risk at getting locked in at a price that you maybe didnt want to pay. Not to mention the ridiculous service charge (which ceases to make this format for the transaction not cost effective). At the end of the day, I paid $30k too much on top of a $13k service. Hubzu really stuck it too me. So disappointed.

I am a broker and HUBZU charges a bid fee in order to bid but they do not tell you is that they will not negotiate the contract and there are no changes to the contract allowed and the contract is very one sided to the seller. They will not prorate what is typically done, they will not pay anything towards closing and they disclaim a lot. They only state they will issue a deed but do not state a warranty deed. This list just goes on and on and on. This is as bad as I have EVER seen and I have been at this for over 20 years. This is a very deceptive process at best.
The agent I just worked with was great. Hubzu program is poor. The site is poor, very little description and no info on insepctions or coop with broker.
I apparantly won the bid but was not advised for 3 days.

Stay away dont waste your time. This company is fraudulent they have their own people bid on homes so you can beat the price. I won on a home 10 Honnis place, newark nj. The amount of 149k was met, and I won at 189k. I wasted my time to place bids. At the end they never conatcted me I had to contact them and at that point they said they dont know why but the seller rejected it ( no answers at all). This was 3 months ago the property is still up for sale at this point. At 149K these people are stupid. Do not get fooled by these people.
They recieved my earnest deposit and all paper work emailed to them before my closing date and a agent santarsha Smith kept saying she didn't get the emails but they said they went through on my end. I called several agent and they wouldn't return my call but I finally recieved a email stating something they already told me which was they didn't get my paper work in time. They also sent me a affidavit of understanding that said due to the coronavirus outbreak government offices were closed so there access was limited. That's a issue for them and I just want my money back.
Do not bid or get into this illegal business practice. They will tell you thatvyou won the bid and demand you for money in less then 24 hours. In the mean time if you try to call the customer service people they will avt dumb and just demand you to pay first and updaye status. After you pay them. They will send you an illegal contract to sign. And demand for more money. Be advised thia is a scam dont fall for it. Its site jabber responsibility to check the authenticity of 5 star reviews. They are all fake.

I made the bet on the house and I was the highest bidder someone was able to get the house not being part of the auction. I was addressing the issue so many times calling but they were not taking that seriously. I wrote some review for one person before and made it look good but that was only for that person. But I don't have anything good to say about hubzu and people working for hubzu, they didn't want to listen to my complaints and didn't do nothing about my complaints. Please look at my videos on YouTube '' genius dog poocho'' producer Jan Konopka

This is the same company as Alti-source, They sell houses and can not even clear the title, Yet want the buyer to go thru hoops. 2 months later they where still trying to get a clear title, What a joke of a company and I would recommend getting title insurance from the junk houses that have been fore-closured on and they still want top dollar, and they contractors are not licensed and they do not pull any permits, Just Craig's list handyman painting over mold and everything else, buyer beware
Hi George,
Congratulations on your winning bid. We are sorry that your experience after the win did not meet your expectations. Based on what you’ve written, it appears your winning property may have required additional steps in order to obtain a clear title. Sometimes this takes longer than we would like. We understand that waiting for a clear title can be frustrating, so we address this specific topic on our FAQ page: https://www.hubzu.com/about/faq#closing. We would also like to reassure you that our contractors go through an approval process and are licensed to perform their work. Should you have specific concerns about a contractor, please let us know immediately.
It is our goal to make your experience as easy and stress-free as possible. If we can provide further assistance at this point, please contact us at customeradvocacyteam@altisource.com with your contact information and specific property details. We thank you for your business and hope to meet your expectations in the future.
Thanks,
Altisource Customer Advocacy Team
Notice was sent I was the highest bidder, three days later of offer being rejected by seller. Not great business practices.
No disclosure of murder which occurred at subject property. What a scam..
Hi Arthur,
We are sorry that you were not able to acquire the property you were bidding on. A Hubzu bidder may think they have won the right to purchase the property because they have the highest bid. This is not always the case. Reserve price is one factor that may prevent the highest bidder from winning the property. A reserve price is the minimum the seller is willing to accept for the property in an auction. We address this specific topic on our FAQ page: https://www.hubzu.com/about/faq#auctions.
If there is anything else we can do to provide you with more information regarding auctions or assist you in future properties, please don’t hesitate to contact us at customeradvocacyteam@altisource.com with your contact information and specific property details or Hubzu Customer Care at 855-882-1314. We thank you for the opportunity to respond to your concerns and hope to meet your expectations in the future.
Thanks,
Altisource Customer Advocacy Team
Do not pay 1000 dollars for the " bump runaround" ask around your realtor knows! Awful crooks! Won the auction which was fishy and then they bump you, saying we were in error.
Tip for consumers:
DONT

On the 8 arakelian dr home in billerica mass. I did some research.the house sank. Its now the only one in the hood with cinder blocks holding it up. The roof was pushing the walls out. So someone thinks putting.in steel beems will hold it up. Wrong. Whats. Under that house? Try 100 feet deep petemoss. It all ready sank and was raised with the cinderblocks. Yoo hoo its sinking again. So keep putting in more weight. You have to start poring in tons of cement under that house to settle it. Hubzu should at least show there so called homes. Or there. Bottomless pits.
I would not ever recommend Hubzu to anyone. They have no idea what they are doing, very incompetent. It took me almost two years to close on one piece of property, which because of their laziness and incompetence it cost me around $12,000, that was literally thrown away. If they are involved WALK AWAY, no RUN. TRUST ME. I didnt listen to my gut feeling or all the negative reviews. So I have no one to blame but myself. HUBZU 2 thumbs down. Oh yeah, the companies are based out of Atlanta, GA. But all your calls no matter which sister company you try to contact, it all goes to India. Stay away from these companies; Hubzu, Altisource, Orlans Legal Group, Ocwen Financial Corporation, and if I do recall there is a few more.

Really, had cash ready and followed directions to the T. Literally closed the deal in 9 days, nobody can believe it when I tell them the story. True story 3 years ago, very happy.
I recently bought a house in Lisbon Maine through Hubzu. I must say, I was very wary, especially after viewing this site and reading some of the reviews. It was to be a cash sale and I worked through a realtor friend. He had never heard of Hubzu so was also a bit wary. We were nervous right up through the auction and kept waiting for something bad to happen... but it never did. We won the auction and were the only ones bidding (no secret bidder appeared and no-one snipped at the last minute as I expected.) I will say that when the paperwork arrived I was totally confused and I can see how buyers could be frustrated. Thankfully I had a realtor that knew what he was doing and handled everything. We were encouraged to use a title company they recommended but we used our own local one which I think turned out to be a good idea. I'm sure there's was reputable but having a local one just made things smoother. Anyway, I told myself that if the sale turned out OK I would come here and give the positive review so, here it is.

Buyer beware this is a horrible auction site seems to use straw bidders to raise the bids will not give access to view property and gives false lock box codes or no keys inside boxes will list active auction while negotiating on the side with past bidders the mls needs to kick Hubzu off its listing site the whole process is a scam don't waste your time customer service is based outside of USA don't waste your $ or time on this fraudulent business practice SCAM SCAM SCAM better off just throwing you $ out the window
Tip for consumers:
Don’t waste your time or $ very unethical business practices the negative reviews of Hubzu are a true reflection of Hubzu
