Hulu has a rating of 1.6 stars from 1,175 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Hulu most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and free trial problems. Hulu ranks 225th among Streaming Movies sites.
Hulu is a fantastic streaming service with a diverse range of content, including current TV shows, classic movies, and original programming. The ability to watch new episodes of my favorite shows shortly after they air is a major plus. The ad-supported tier offers great value, although I wish there were fewer commercials during playback
I've tried most of the movie sites and Hulu is by far the absolute worst. The website itself is slow and difficult to navigate. Their disabling of right-click makes it even worse. Movies stop at random places to load, ruining the continuity of the movie. And trying to skip ahead or back stops the movie outright for anywhere from several seconds to half a minute. You can't even pause a movie where you want because of the delay. Subtitles are out of sync with video on most movies. You have to pay to watch the movies, and then pay again if you want to watch them without ads. Even the free bootleg movie sites work better than Hulu. I tried their free trial so at least this poor experience did not cost me anything.
Of America you have the best tv internet out there your better then netflix and cheaper then any cable company out there yall saved me a lot of money just by using yall. Yall respect your customers and yall charge one rate no more no hidden fee or anything yall are the best thing out there yall need to become a cable company and keep the price cheap so low income people that way they can watch everything on a fixed income thank you for your service
The ads play perfectly fine but the show buffers like crazy. Wtf. Plus the rate is not impressive. $7.99 a month with "limited" ads and $12.99 for "hardly any" ads? It's ridiculous. That's way too much money to spend on something that just buffers every five seconds. A waste of money. If this wasn't my only way to watch How I Met Your Mother there is no way I'd still be paying for this.
Want to see an example of how terrible HULU is? Go into movies and then genres and the classics. There are 14 choices. 5 are old James Bonds and 6 are old cowboy movies. There must be at least 5000 movies that would be called classics at HULU has a poor selection of 14.
I'm done. HULU sucks and has gotten worse and worse. I don't feel like I'm getting any real value and I certainly don't think HULU is making any effort to provide good programming.
Goodbye Losers!
Heard that Hulu finally gave a channel grid interface, so I went back to them. Big mistake, all they did was change their all network' view from thumbnails to a list. This is NOT a channel guide! I wish Philo would get Fox News, So I can say goodbye to the likes of Hulu and the other streaming services, which (truth be told) are no better than the cable companies. Until then I'll be looking to replace Hulu for the final time.
The last 6 months, probably the last year, of using Hulu has been the worst service I have received in 5 years. Constant buffering, the steps to trouble shoot on the hulu site are incorrect or incomplete, not to mention their page to actually contact them is always down, most likely intentional so people cannot contact them and complain. There is no where on the site that i can find to report streaming issues, there should be a link on every single video to report issues, but no. Hulu does not care about its customers, clearly. The issue is not my internet, it is not the device I am using (because i have streaming issues on every device i attempt to watch hulu on). At the moment I am looking for other ways to view the shows I like on hulu because i am wasting my money on this application.
We love Netflix and AmazonPrime so we thought we would give Hulu a chance. It is terrible! I can't stand the fact that they charge another $8 a month to have no commercials! Then ontop of it I was in the middle of watching a show and it just totally signed me out and wont let us back in to finish watching what we were. Terrible experience.
I have Netflix, but thought I'd check out HULU since Netflix charge went up from $7.99 to $9.99. When watching TV shows there's commercials you can't fast forward through! The movies are all old. When I went to cancel, an extended 2 week free trial popped up. There was a couple shows my kids watched so I did the extension. The next day they charged me $7.99! I've been emailing them complaining and they will not refund because we used the service during free trial! What BS! BAD SERVICE< BAD MOVIES=BAD BUSINESS!
Screen just stops for no reason, seems to be buffering then an error message "unable to playback and it may get stuck in this cycle for an hour or more. Also may suddenly rewind a show your watching for absolutely no reason. Called customer service several times and gone through the same process over and over. Unplug the firestick, clear cache, reset your router, delete and reinstall Hulu, check your Internet speed, bla bla bla nothing works. We have one of the fastest Internet services in the nation in my area so that's not it.
100 mbps down, and it buffers constantly. I can't finish a single episode. The picture that is attached is of the buffering screen. I spend more time watching Hulu try to load, than i spend watching the actual content.
I do love it for for the few shows I can find. They are absolutely wonderful but they come at a cost; having to sit through not only ads but much "rainbow" show previews and political campaigns against President Trump and their Kids forum has brainwashing shows to turn little children into homosexuals like "Rosaline," Buy the way, Hulu's (one's who debuted and still have this show 3 yrs later) parent controls are essentially zero according to parental reviews on another review site. They have shut down their Contact Us avenue as I have tried multiple ph #s and all are shut down during this step up of political campaigning. I have discovered that paying double to avoid ads does NOT stop the political garbage they are slinging.
Hulu charged me $10 over my pkg plan for the past 2 years. Called customer service, she was rude, talked over me and hung up on me when I told her it's rude to interrupt a customer when their talking. I has to raise my voice to remind her I was talking first before she interrupted and kept talking when I was explaining the pkg they were charging me for with no ads but, was getting ads. The movie choices repeat every 3 to 6 months, their variety is terrible. The prices have gone up $10 every year for the almost 4 yrs I've had Hulu with no upgrades to Hulu. What a rip off. Time to look for other options.
Started with Hulu (no ads) and was pleased. Added "live TV" and shows that previously didn't have ads now had ads. Most shows have ads with this bundle. I know, makes no sense. Their excuse is that "on demand" shows are added and these have ads. They directed me to a link of Hulu's lineup presumably without ads and the first show I clicked started with an ad. The bundle is a scam designed to trick you into watching as many ads as possible. DO NOT PURCHASE this bundle if you don't want ads.
I am currently attempting to watch a show. I am unable to even follow the line due to the fact that every 3 minutes there are about 5 ads playing. I'm becoming very fed up. I just wanted to watch a show and can't even do that. Needs to be fixed or it's going to be dropped!
I have had Hulu for about 3-4 years now. I even pay extra to get it ad-free, which I was completely okay with, the few extra bucks a month was worth it.
But after this most recent update, (which came out about 6 months ago, but for some reason the app on my firestick didn't update until July) it's complete crap.
I've only been able to get it to load a couple of times; it's constantly saying the servers are busy, retry. The loud intro when first opening the app is unnecessary and a complete nuisance. And while the new app "looks pretty", the interface usability is sacrificed. Of the few times I've actually been able to get the app to open, I've given up every single time.
I hate it because there are shows that I watch on Hulu that I can't watch anywhere else. But I'm not paying for something that won't even load. I keep hoping they'll listen to the thousands of people who all complain about the exact same thing, but it looks like I'll be canceling my subscription.
Hulu is hot garbage. Id rather watch just regular cable TV than deal with hulu. They play too many Ads through out your program. After 5 min into the show, you have to watch 5 min of Ads. They claim its only 1:30 min, but thats not the case. Ads will continue to play. And this doesnt happen just once. It happens multiple times while watching a songle episode. Seriously, forget Hulu.
Hulu has a very good collection of clips and full episodes. But, commercials are getting a bit ridiculous. Mostly, these back-to-back, interactive commercilas. Althought there is too much advertisement, still it is one of the best websites in the net.
Thanks to the gross number of commercials Hulu has added, it is impossible to enjoy a TV show. A show that normally lasts an hour will last nearly 45mins longer due to commercials. I am tired of spending my time to make someone else money. I hope you die Hulu
When i cancelled my subscription from hulu that i have been paying for! But paid up to june 16 2017. It won't let me watch for what i paid for unless i sign back up. They our such a scam. I will not rate them. Netflix is so much better and you get better options and it doesn't buffing all the time and doesn't freeze up on you all the time and doesn't scam you.
I just wanted to watch one movie on this dumb streaming website and I got the basic subscription. WITH ADS. Usually that means you can actually watch things just with ads. But no, it actually means you can watch about 5 different things and the other 300,000 things cost another $70 per month. I hate Hulu. All other streaming services are better than this one.
Tip for consumers:
just don't. unless your rich and $70 is nothing to you.
I understand ad revenue but 7 advertisements per episode is such a greedy way of making money the most annoying part about it is the ads they make you watch at the very end of the episode when there's just credits from the show playing indicating that it's over. They stop the credits to play an advertisement then start the credits back before going to the next episode where they make you watch ANOTHER advertisement before starting the show. I'd rather eat glass than to watch another advertisement from Hulu that site has turned into garbage.
First off, HULU if you're going to charge for services, there shouldn't be commercials. I can watch the shows on regular tv if I want that. Also don't up your prices to take the commercials out. Since that happened the commercials have come on more frequently and now up to 5 instead of 2 or 3 when HULU first came out. I plan on discontinuing my membership. I can record my shows and fast forward through the commercials if I want. Also some of the shows have partial seasons and sometimes not every season for the show. What am I paying for, because now it's not the convenience.
Hulu gives you a trial period of Live channels based upon your zip code. However, after a month they switch you to a different city with less channels and drops the ABC network. Their explanation is that the address of my internet provider is in that other city (where I don't live) and that there is nothing they can do about it. There is zero reason to have Hulu Live when I can't even watch a major network on it when the much cheaper Hulu allows me to see the show the next day.
Disgusting company that took advantage of the legend Mike Tyson by creating a series on his life without compansating him or even his permission. Speechless that companys like this can take advantage of people like this, the American way I guess can't be helped.
I was set to cancel Hulu. I was offered 1 free month plus $1.99 a month thereafter. After the free month ended, my rate shot up to $5.99. Much of Hulu's content I'm already getting on Amazon Prime. I'm canceling Hulu! Oh, and customer service is terrible!
Hulu is alright. The constand commercial breaks do get old. If I pause it and go back to my show, only SOMETIMES it will resume at my exact spot I left at. And there are plenty of times where the screen just pauses so that it can buffer. Get your $#*! together Hulu - never experienced these issues with Netflix.
