Hulu is a fantastic streaming service with a diverse range of content, including current TV shows, classic movies, and original programming. The ability to watch new episodes of my favorite shows shortly after they air is a major plus. The ad-supported tier offers great value, although I wish there were fewer commercials during playback
I've tried most of the movie sites and Hulu is by far the absolute worst. The website itself is slow and difficult to navigate. Their disabling of right-click makes it even worse. Movies stop at random places to load, ruining the continuity of the movie. And trying to skip ahead or back stops the movie outright for anywhere from several seconds to half a minute. You can't even pause a movie where you want because of the delay. Subtitles are out of sync with video on most movies. You have to pay to watch the movies, and then pay again if you want to watch them without ads. Even the free bootleg movie sites work better than Hulu. I tried their free trial so at least this poor experience did not cost me anything.
Had it 2 weeks, limitless glitches of all sorts including limited access as well as the one of the least intuitive layouts on its apps, do not expect this software to run smoothly or logically, extremely bad and gets frustrating. Not worth
At first I thought th this new app will "just take some getting used to", but it's simply not intuitive at all. On top of that, it keeps disconnecting from my Chromecast... If I try to rewind 10 seconds, I have to reconnect to the Chromecast (which takes up to 2 minutes), and then hit the "back 10 seconds" button several times to get back where it was.
I think it is ridiculous you only offer one screen at a time. Even Netflix gave me more than that. You should offer at least 2 screens with the base price. Then for the last 4 nights I haven't even been able to access Hulu (usually just at night). Also making people pay $60 a month just to view it on more than one screen. I quit Netflix bc they suck, I quit amazon prime bc they lied about everything you get, and Hulu is slowly working my nerves on this one. Can't someone put something out there where they actually care about what their customers want and not to fulfill their own greedy needs. All of these channels are now trying to make a pretty penny off of everyone now. It's ridiculous to make someone pay for a channel they already pay for with cable.
They make u pay extra money for "less ads", but there isn't less ads, there is the same amount, if not more than usual. They just want your damn money. Either way u have to sit through about 70 ads per show. Do your self a favor and don't subscribe.
Ok, the commercials are a drag, but I think they come as part of the package for viewing new episodes, so I can live with them. However, Hulu never wants to stream using Chromecast - Youtube, Amazon Prime and Netflix work great, so why is Hulu constantly a problem? I adjust settings and reload the chromecast program and it works for a few months but then stops - so that's annoying. Most annoying: buffering. I pay for pretty good internet speeds, and again, every other platform runs with no buffering, but I can't even make it through a 30 minute show in the morning without it pausing and buffering every 2 minutes or so.
One month free, but if you old timer with only cash or checks - then your screwed. They going make money off u by charging after u cancel or selling your info. Plus their server already been hacked. I made this review through a account I hacked from their files. Sorry Hacked IP It was a random pick from Credit report agent.
The service is trash, the interface is worse. They force ads in every spot they get, and will then argue semantics over ads and commercials being different. There are countless comments about how bad Hulu, and they just keep doubling down. Also, would it kill these streaming companies to add an already watched button?
Will not let me log into hulu, but shows account as payed... extreme long waits on hold time. Get a customer service rep after lengthy wait and he places me on hold while he locates my account. Like he has to go to a file room or something... this is the worst company with... indifferent... does not care about customers or service... they got their last money form me every...
I will admit that hulu has a great variety or shows and movies but the ad's are constantly coming on every five min and it's so annoying. It really gets me upset that hulu makes millions off ppl like me who have accounts with them and pay monthly and still sell out to get paid from commercial ad's! Selfish bastards! Hulu needs to quit with the bs.
Awesome site! Miss last night's TV show? Chances are they'll have it and it's not the blurry or camcorder quality pictures. They're prefect quality and offer some in HD. The site is done with cooperation from NBC and Fox so lot of the shows by them or affiliated networks gets put on here. It's because of this site, I sometimes don't get as much work done as I should when I'm at work.^^;
We all really like Hulu and watch it almost every day. Good original shows and others. I do like the news programs a lot and a lot of the tv series. However, not much lately because we can't even find most shows since they switched the format. VERY difficult to use. NOT user friendly. I realize no new shows because of pandemic. BUT it would be nice to get some new things from old things that were shown from recent years. Tired of re watching series for the second or third times and most movies are too tiresome/boring/stupid to watch at all. It could be that we just can't find them with this format.
Forget about the annoying ads. I get it, they have to make money. My issues with Hulu are that it's not user friendly, doesn't offer intuitive navigation and the layout is clunky at best! Haven't the developers tried Netflix and prime? How do they not offer restart episode? Why is it so hard to see what episodes you've watched and go to specific episodes? For the love of God why does it take so long to log in and get started? It's like the developers don't actually use the app or it would be much easier! If the Handmaids Tale was available literally ANYWHERE ELSE I would cancel my subscription. I hate Hulu so much.
Like a review I previously saw. It takes hours to watch a 21 minute episode because of constant loading and freezing. At time it'll even cut off I. The middle of the show and say there's a connection error. It buffers like crazy it gives me anxiety! I nearly broke my TV several times. For this much "high tech" services in the world there should not this many issues. Netflix is smooth. I have to keep turning my TV off n on to try to get better connection. Its horrible
Most aggravating video steaming service I have ever experienced. Displays adds even though you pay 7.99 a month for it. Displays far more adds than you would ever anticipate. User interface is very confusing and unhelpful. I feel that I have completely wasted 7.99 even though that amount of money means nothing to me. Please do not cause yourself the same frustration by purchasing this service. I spent 8 dollars to raise my blood pressure significantly. Terrible service.
They have more ads than regular tv. Not worth it at all, you can't watch anything without an 90 second ad every 5 min. " new shows" ha. Hulu is trash and not worth it, trust me, you would be better off buying YouTube tv.
Watching my favorite basketball team. Seesaw game. We're up by 2 with 30 seconds remaining. Commercial... HuLu switches to PGA golf coverage! Who won? I had to Google it to find out. Pathetic. Hulu offers no pathway that I could find for customer service or complaints. I'll be switching to another streaming service!
Tip for consumers:

I used to love Hulu so much but the quality of the app has gotten horrible over time. I've called the customer service center and they say they are aware of the issue but it hasn't been fixed. When you watch a series if you stop in the middle of an episode it won't play back from where you left off like Netflix. You have to either watch the episode again or you have to forward to where you left off. Omg Hulu get this fixed. Hulu doesn't remember what episodes you have watched if you start a series over. You literally have to write down where you left off before you log off or even pause the show for more than ten minutes. It's a hot mess. I want to cancel the account so much.
This is the worst streaming available. If shows were amazing maybe I'd try to figure out why. It is so bad I can't believe anyone pays for it. Buffers all the time. And that's when it's working. Usually it isn't.
Biggest concern: we had to delete and restore our Hulu account because of a Roku issue and we were restored to someone else's account! Multiple efforts to correct were unsuccessful. Contacted Hulu phone support at 10 pm. Call was answered promptly, and their instructions resolved the issue quickly (leading us to suspect that this may be a relatively common occurrence?). That is a concerning breach of privacy. Other concerns: frequent 'failures to record'; generally non-intuitive user interface.
I love this site because they also sport some great older flicks. Plus you can really sink your teeth into the most recent episodes with out having to thumb a TV Guide. I would really like to see them put some more classics on the site.
Also I would not mind a few ads if it meant that I could get their premium streaming for free.
Can I give no stars? After having Hulu for a week, I lost closed captions for Hulu on my tv, but not on my iPad. After a frustrating hour on the phone help line with two reps, I had no Hulu service at all on either device. Neither rep seemed to have a clue. In fact, I think the first gal realized she had screwed me up bad and deliberately disconnected me. I cancelled rather than go through more torture. Damn shame because I really wanted to binge on Fargo.
Trying to get Hulu on my TV. I needed help with that also needing them to take my credit card number they hung up on me two times in a row and they said they had a problem, I fully agree... laughing in the background talking about things that had nothing to do with helping me a new customer! Hulu needs to address this completely unprofessional behavior! This is an understatement... I let her lie did not subscribe to their service I know that I'm only one person very disappointed
I love Hulu. Great shows. Low monthly price. Although, sadly, I have noticed that some of my favorite shows are being taken off hulu and on to their own network apps, i. E. Downtown Abby. Only downside is that you can't use it internationally.
Seriously? So I'm paying for a service to watch TV shows with $#*!ing commercials in them! Absolutely ridiculous.
Wait a second I also have prime, and guess what they remove the commercials on the TV series that they play!
Hulu get your $#*! together!
The only justification for putting up with the commercials on Hulu when Netflix costs about the same without commercials, is availability of content. Hulu has TV show episodes sooner than Netflix, but does not have older episodes. I was out of the country for about 8 weeks and found that a show I had been watching was only available for the previous 5 episodes. You cannot start from the beginning of most long running series.
Although you can click on whether an ad is relevant, it will make no difference to what commercials you see. For example, I am absolutely not interested in buying a car, clicked "not relevant" to hundreds of car commercials, but car commercials continue to be the most common ones shown.
