Hulu is a fantastic streaming service with a diverse range of content, including current TV shows, classic movies, and original programming. I've tried most of the movie sites and Hulu is by far the absolute worst. The website itself is slow and difficult to navigate. Their disabling of right-click makes it even worse. Movies stop at random places to load, ruining the continuity of the movie. And trying to skip ahead or back stops the movie outright for anywhere from several seconds to half a minute. You can't even pause a movie where you want because of the delay. Subtitles are out of sync with video on most movies. You have to pay to watch the movies, and then pay again if you want to watch them without ads. Even the free bootleg movie sites work better than Hulu. I tried their free trial so at least this poor experience did not cost me anything.
I never write these reviews but Hulu needs to know that this update Hulu recently has done has completely turned me off. May be canceling soon! Tried 10 times tonight to log into Hulu and I get error message continuously. Not to mention the loud $#*! noise it makes for the intro and wakes my young kids in the room. Stuff needs to change or im out!
Although Hulu has wonderful TV shows I cannot watch any of them because every couple of seconds the show starts to load. Or it says connectivity problem and there's no way to get out of it but quit. I pay $100 a month on my internet alone and my router is in the very next room there should be no freaking reason that this is happening this is the only app that happens on and it's so infuriating. I will be canceling my subscription ASAP what a joke of a company! Don't waste your money
I love hulu.com. I can go to the website and watch an entire season of tv shows in a day or two for free. They have a decent inventory but it would be great if they were able to get more to choose from. Even so, you can pop over to hulu and go through their inventory and find something you want to watch, be it a movie or a favorite television show that you may have missed or would like to check out before deciding to sit in front of the tv every week.

After a long day of work of dealing with idiot coworkers and demanding customers, I'd like to come home, have a beverage and watch some shows. Except now I'm watching colors change with every scroll of the remote like I'm at a techno dance festival, then I'm searching for - which was never an issue - a damn show I was hoping to binge watch until I fell asleep on the couch like I did the night before! "You just have to get used to the change" they say. Listen, watching TV shouldn't be a struggle, it's an escape from the struggles of life. Thanks for adding to my $#*! day Hulu.
I downloaded the Hulu add free version a few months ago and have tried to delete it twice. When I tried cancelling my subscription both times, it did not allow me and notified me that one of their services were down. Everything else worked perfectly fine accept that I could not cancel my subscription. Additionally, when viewing my payment history, I noticed my subscription actually went up a dollar.
This could be coincidental and a blame that can totally be on my part, maybe if I called Hulu it could be resolved, but that the moment of writing this review, I would rather be pissed off at Hulu. $#*! you Hulu here is your single star that probably has no bearing on anything and is probably going someone more data to sell. I've had Hulu for about 6 weeks. I like the selections that they have but absolutely HATE all of the commercials. I don't see or like paying for this service and then have to watch stupid commercials at every interval. They have it rigged so that you can't even fast forward through them. They run the same commercials over and over again. I'm considering canceling my subscription. I'd rather buy a smart TV and stream from the select website I'm interested in viewing.
We're paying for a service that never works! It takes me twice as long to watch something on hulu because it's always draggin, lagging, stopping and kicking me all the way out. They need to burn it and start over!
My biggest problem with Hulu is that they do not have full seasons. I am a scandal addict and missed the entire season 4. I got Hulu just so that I could catch up on scandal. When I finally got ready for my scandal weekend, I saw that season 4 started at episode 18. That's ridiculous! How can I start a season if I am missing 17 episodes. I like that scandal updates there shows faster but at least with Netflix you can watch FULL SEASONS, even if it does take forever to update. I truly hope Hulu fixes this.
This is seriously the worst update I've ever seen any thing ever do, and I've seen my iPhone do some pretty stupid updates but Hulu topped it off with this one! I've never been so mad before, this update had already ruined so many shows for me because as soon as you click on a show it shows the latest season not season one, and somebody I've thought was dead happened to be in the picture of season twos episodes, I would have never known that if this $#*!ty update wouldn't have made me scroll from high to low from every season, this $#*! is so $#*!ed! Losing my business that's defiant.
I mean for real? The ads i will suffer up to a point, but constantly getting bumped out of a show mid way and having to restart it from the beggining is ridiculous! Worst responding service EVER! I guess that us what you get for 4.99, should be free!
I spend way more time watching the green 'Retrieving' bar slowly creep across the screen than I do watching the program. I subscribe to Netflix and Amazon Prime and have not experienced this issue at all. I have contacted Hulu support for some time and they said other customers have also reported this. So, why don; t they fix it?
Hulu is a joke. It has commercials, yes you can watch "some" of your shows but if you missed half the season its not available for play back. It stops randomly half way through an episode and starts replaying from the beginning. Hulu is just really really $#*!ing horrible. There business idea is spend no $ for rights to play full seasons like Netflix does. But add commercials which pays hulu. Then hulu charges us the consumer the same price as netfix. Hulu you are a joke. Do the world a favor and shut down
I was extremely happy to find out that hulu.com had a cyber Monday deal for $12 for 1 year, I got home and tried to subscribe around 10pm, but the hulu.com website will go into temporary not on service, I tried 200 times with out any luck, the next day I contacted Hulu.com via chat, and all they can say is sorry, but you may subscribe today for $5.99 a month... REALLY after wasting hours trying to get the $12 a year deal... I'm done, Netflix never disappoints their customers
I am dismayed that anyone thought it was good idea to use an exact, what I hope is, an exact recreation of the shuttle disaster as part of the show "the first". There are certain things that should be off limits to use in any entertainment format.
Hulu never works! Such a waste of money. They can try to blame it on my connection, but my Netflix and Amazon prime TV work just fine. Hulu constantly stops to buffer when trying to watch anything and usually ends in a loading error. I feel like I'm truly being ripped off for paying for something I can rarely even watch. It's time to unsunscribe. I'm fed up.
I subscribed to Hulu Live in September 2019. I can't give it a high rating. When I'm watching live, the screen often freezes or doesn't load. My wifi is over 100 Mbps. They increased the cost by $10, and the service got worse. I'm looking for another streaming service with live TV.
Started using as a replacement to Sony Vue. Not even close. Sony stopped the Vue service and needed something for all live and local content. A few months of Hulu and I think we will give up live/local content. Not worth the $50/mo. Ads drive you crazy.
The only reason they get 3 stars is because 11. 22. 63 is a pretty darn good show. Given this is only my first week but it's already extremely aggravating. The commercials aren't the end of the world. But if I have to rewind I'm forced to watch them over again. The system should know better. If I pause it and come back, all the sudden the episode forwards to the end. So now I have to watch the beginning commercials all over and fast forward but then I have to watch the mid show ones as well. And for some reason if the PlayStation controller is within 3 feet it will just start rewinding out of nowhere. I know I know something is wrong with my system. Ok. Netflix doesn't do this. I've had that for years. But it must be my connection, right? Please. Hulu has been around way too long to deliver such a poor interface. In this day and age the aggravation alone won't be worth keeping this for too long. Too many other sources for content to deal with this regularly.
Why the hell does hulu have 100 second commercials? It's probably to get you to pay more for ad free. I'm so done with this movie streaming app. It seems like every 5-10 minutes it goes to commercial for 100 seconds or more. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it has a lot of shows I like to watch otherwise I think Hulu is the dumbest app out there. Netflix has no commercials but Hulu does? I mean come on at least make it a less time it gets annoying and I'll definitely pay for another month of Hulu ever again. :(
At end of supposed free month I tried to stop my account. I was given a different end date than actual, so my c/c was chgd. I tried 10 times to cancel. Through calls, chats and email thru app. Kept saying try again. Finally called thru online contact #, & they would not give me my money back. Bottom line, there is no Free month to try it. Did not have enough shows or newest episodes, so I figured it would not work for me. I get better from my library for free. Horrible customer service.
On 12/9/15 i signed for the free trial but cancelled the service. They billed my credit card on 12/18/15 and on 1/18/16 even though it was cancelled. I emailed them for a refund stating that I obviously cancelled and havent used their service. I also asked them to look at the history to confirm that i am not using their service. They were only able to refund 1 of the two month they charged me. Whats the point of trial when you guys charge even after i cancel
Hulu kicked me out over 40 times during the Super Bowl! Horrible! I pay a lot of money for Hulu and they can't have the act together for the Super Bowl!

Having been a member of Netflix for a couple of years now and being happy with that service, I thought I would give Hulu a try. I had been very happy with Hulu up until yesterday. During one of the commercial breaks while watching a half hour comedy, I was shown a very lewd trailer for an R-rated movie. I do not recall the movie name. I thought it was some kind of sick joke. The movie trailer featured male and female nudity (breasts and butt), along with such expletives as "$#*!" and "$#*!" repeated several times throughout the trailer. I was absolutely mortified! Thankfully no children were present. Extremely distasteful! This ad was completely out of place and over the line.
Tip for consumers:
Apparently Hulu has very low standards for the types of advertising it allows to its consumers. If you would be remotely offended by the type of ad described above, I recommend highly that you do not subscribe for Hulu plus service.
I hate watching tv on Hulu. It freezes up and starts a new episode when your in the middle of the last one MULTIPLE times. It hasnt just happened once, but repeatedly throughout the whole show. Its very frustrating and has been doing it for months. The only reason we still have it is because we keep getting free months but its very aggravating to watch. Would not suggest it.
Not a bad service, but I travel a lot and if I haven't logged in on my home network for 2-3 weeks, they block my access. Can't watch anything until you call them, they verify it's you and then the let you watch. Truly annoying that you pay for a streaming service that blocks your service if you are streaming from vacation. The good news I've always received quick service, but annoying that when I visit family or take a road trip with my camper I turn on my TV and it's blocked. Something to consider if you travel a lot.
