I came in here to shout out the IPSY customer service. I have been a loyal IPSY user for 6+ years. The basic glam bag is plenty for me since I like to try items before I buy full size. Throughout the years I have had some problems with items (wrong shade, lost packages, late delivery, etc) and they have compensated those issues promptly and with understanding. Just recently was looking through the app and realized I never got my September package. They quickly replied to my issue and promptly sent me a new package with the same (or similar) items. 10/10 on the customer service!
I joined back up for Ipsy Glam Bag. The price is now a total of $7 more per month and the items were pathetic! I wound up canceling after 2 bags. What a shame that something that I was once so good has gotten disgraceful. A big waste of money!
I have had many bags not arrive and each time I reached out to costumer service and they either did nothing and I lost my money or they send they would resend it and never did. Some of the products were the same as stuff u could get for free. Also when you try to cancel it you're only able to pause it so after one to three months you start getting charged again and can not permanently cancel. Overall it is awful and not a simple subscription service to try.
The first mess up they fixed. The second mess up they couldn't fix because they didn't have my color. The third mess up they have gone silent. Three different times with different results each time customer service goes down hill. I am frustrated I bought a product and they either refuse or just wont give it to me. I am cancelling completely and taking my family and friends with me.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use it they "don't have the product" or they are "out of that product but you can have something else". HORRIBLE
Dont do it. They will continue to charge you after you cancel and you will have to go through your method of payment to seek help in ending subscription. Even if you have received an email from Ipsy that you have cancelled don't fall for it.

Cosmetics were received but they were not nearly worth the price.
Their products are really nice when you actually recieve them but they really need to work on shipping and customer support. Half of my item have been missing or broken for the past several months. Every time I try to ask them about it they say they sent out an email telling me I wasn't receiving it. I never received an email and never got refunded. Their customer service is probably one of the worst that I have ever had to go through. I picked up my package at the post office and one of the workers said that company has the worst packaging they have ever seen and always causes them issues because the package opens and half the items fall out every single time. I would definitely recommend a different company like boxycharm to anyone reading this review. I recieved a package today and I only received 1 of 3 items and it was completely broken and spilt all over the package.
I have gotten Ipsy subscriptions for years. I really like the selection and all the new brands I found and was able to try before purchasing. They have a few different subscriptions each month I get the glam bag it's about 13 a month and glam bag plus I believe is 30 a month. They also have a glam x every 3 months or so you don't get the glam bag plus and that month you are charged about 50 they have a curator for each of the boxes every 3 months I did it once and it was Kholie Kardashian got some great products. Missing a few items and the shipping was delayed so I canceled glam x. I really love the brands I've gotten over the months.
Tip for consumers:
Great way to discover and try brand's.

My daughter and I did it for 2 years but then cancelled and we miss it. So we are signing right back up! Its like Christmas every month! Between the two of us we use at least 1/2 the products. One product at WalMart is at least $8, so even if we use only one product it is worth it. LOVE IT!
They charge you the first day of the month and dont deliver until the last day. But cancelling the subscription is next to impossible! They publish a telephone number which has a 1 second recording saying: "the number is currently not in service, please try again later"! If that makes any sense. SCAM! Talk to your bank and explain to cancell the debit to your accoutn on behalf of this company.
I was about to pull the plug on Ipsy. I felt the products I received did not reflect my profile, and it made me cranky.
When BoxyCharm got involved, the stuff i got was much more to my liking.
I would suggest you read the descriptions of the products very carefully.
For instance, I was ready to reject what i thought was a powder blush set, but once I realized it was a creme I bought it immediately.
Ipsy have new thing call ipsy cash. Basically like ebates, you get cash back from them. They offer nice percentage of some cosmetic brand. Like ofra or buxom. Ofra sometime
S can get 50% rebates. Im a reseller. I sell cosmetic to Asia. I placed a lot of orders thru ipsy. Before a week of the day they supposed to redeem my ipsy cash, my cash all gone. Its $3600. I keep email them and always get the respond just wait! After one month waiting, they basically told me, they wont pay me because they consider its fraudulent. WTF they can easy to take your money away without give you any reason. I could get 30% off if i bought ofra thru their website, but i choose ipsy cuz they offer better rebates. Then i got nothing. Be awarded, if you gonna buy anything thru ipsy shopper. They might not pay you! I still trying to get my money back.
They make you do so much propaganda for them, and they pay you back by not providing quality products for you to try. If you want to try new products and want a similar subscription try Birchbox, they have an actual store in NYC and the products are all good high quality products and brands. The monthly bag ain't worth it!
A friend if mine recommended this product to me so I decided to try it. Well attempt to anyways. Once making an account on the site and entering my credit card information they informed me that I was on a waiting list. The only way to get off this list is sending a Facebook message to 10 friends advertising the product, sharing it on your Facebook page, liking their page, ect. I decided to not do this and have still been on this "waiting list" for 2 months. Unless you're comfortable with spamming your friends on Facebook, its virtually impossible to start to recieve these bags.
Very unsatisfied with my glam bag & I only reviewed it, I haven't yet gotten it in the mail. I specifically put no lipstick or anything to do with lipstick and yet, there's lip crayon in it. I'm so unhappy about it (after looking forward to it) that I would now like to unsubscribe. I no longer want to receive monthly glam bags, nor be charged for things that I have no use for. I could spend my $20 on things that I could actually use, somewhere else!
I have attempted to reach them and they don't answer. I purchase this for my granddaughter for Christmas last year and they don't answer the phone. You cant reach anyone. They will not let me cancel. I filed a complaint with the BBB in California. I suggest you find another HONEST makeup company to contact. This one is horrid. They are a rip off.
Same here. I believe they got it set this way because the instruction to cancel is ridiculous! I tried it four times and still no cancel. They send the link to spam and it doesn't work. I want me refund for four months!
I've been an IPSY customer for about 2 years now, but I'm considering canceling. The products are nice enough, and good quality, but in each bag, there are usually only 2-3 products I can use; I try to give away the rest, but even my 19-year-old daughter won't wear the colors and finishes they send. They send colors and products I have specifically stated I didn't want in my profile, and most of the make-up shades are shimmery, dark colored, and/or gold, which just doesn't work for me. And who can really use a different blush or bronzer every month?
I've subscribed faithfully for over a year but all of a sudden earlier this year I was disappointed month after month... the personalization survey means absolutely nothing to them. I've received nail polish 4 out of 6 months and specifically stated no nail products I do love the idea of mini samples before splurging and the $10 is a bargain but if I repeatedly receive items that are useless to me then it kind of defeats the purpose. I paid for the year so I'll finish it out but I already signed up for birchbox which is the same price and you receive another box free for signing up. Such ashame I use to brag and refer to all my girlfriends about the items and brand name products I got but now it's low end items.
So if you don't mind receiving random items that you may or may not like then be my guest.
I look forward to receiving my bag each month. I like the fact that if you don't really care for an item you received, you can review it online within your account and ispy will adjust your future items. I also enjoy that they are smaller sizes that way you can get a feel for whether or not you would like to purchase a normal sized product in the future.
I just recently moved and updated my address on my account so my August bag would ship to my new address. Apparently I updated the billing address, not the shipping, so it sent to my old address. After not having received it, I emailed ispy customer service and they got back to me the very next morning. The individual explained the situation, and offered to reissue my August bag free of charge and send it to my new address. They were quick, responsive, and caring. I would highly recommend!
The website says things are personalized but my profile says I have red hair and fair skin but they gave me very dark mascara. I didnt want blush either but I ended up getting it anyways but i can use it as eyeshadow or something.
Your one job is to put a glam bag in an envelope and mail it. What I got was an empty envelope with two postcards. Charged $10 for two postcards. You have got to be kidding me. Canceling subscription.
They are not what they advertise. First off, I signed up and was wait listed unless I spam my friends with their promos. I refuse to send spam so I emailed to cancel the subscription right away. I got a response that if I would just try it for one month, they'd take me off the wait list. I was supposed to get March's bag but did not. Got April's bag and I can't use anything that's in it. As much as they claim to be personalized, it's anything but. They know your eye color, hair color, skin tone, and what products you like... yet they send stuff that doesn't go with your coloring and skin tone, and products that you did not select in the registration process.
Big waste of money.
Tip for consumers:
Don't waste your time or money on Ipsy. You'll be expected to send spam advertisements for them and they are far from being personalized.
I have heard good and bad things about Ipsy so I decided to give it a go. But I am already having trouble trying to get a reply from Ipsy Care. I subscribed maybe around the 10th of January and my bank account got charged January 13th, Ipsy still has not got back to me i hope someone can help me! Ps. I do live in Canada
Overall didn't like the customization very much. They weren't bad products but they never really gave me anything my profile indicated. The website is NOT intuitive. I was expecting to just get the most basic glam bag but somehow got signed up for the refreshments, and even after I specifically emailed the help desk and got that canceled, they KEPT sending me refreshments and charging me for them. They told me they would give me a refund for the last one and never did even after I emailed them again about it. Would not recommend to anyone unless you just feel like dumping money on products you don't really want.

In three months. Two bags were late by over a month and I was missing several products, I got dupe products on several other things that I'd NEVER use. Trash subscription. I would not recommend to my enemy! I even canceled, they offered a free 6th item if I came back so I gave them a second chance, and they didn't send the extra item and sent me three face creams in one bag. TERRIBLE!
I cancelled the annual membership 3 months prior to the renewal date. They still charged my account $165 causing a lot of issues. They only have a bot to try to get through to them. Since I pay through PayPal, I will be disputing through them. This is ridiculous!
Tip for consumers:
Be ready to fight if you are wanting to cancel your membership.

None really, I mostly gave everything away as it was not useful to me.
I used to look forward to my Ipsy packages when I first signed up. After about a year, I found that I had more products in my don't use drawer. The problem... they don't provide enough for African American women and especially those with dark skin. So, I gave it up. On the fair side, I did get some products that coerced me into buying larger sized products (. E.g. Nars). However, when I look back at the amount of money I spent on samples, it wasn't worth it.
My real problem is that I've not had a subscription in a year and they're still sending me emails. I always unsubscribe, only to get another email asking me to rejoin. You can NEVER get away from them. Be cognizant of this BEFORE you sign up.
