“Customer Service is STOP ON!”

Kaila H.
11/6/23

I came in here to shout out the IPSY customer service. I have been a loyal IPSY user for 6+ years. The basic glam bag is plenty for me since I like to try items before I buy full size. Throughout the years I have had some problems with items (wrong shade, lost packages, late delivery, etc) and they have compensated those issues promptly and with understanding. Just recently was looking through the app and realized I never got my September package. They quickly replied to my issue and promptly sent me a new package with the same (or similar) items. 10/10 on the customer service!

I joined back up for Ipsy Glam Bag. The price is now a total of $7 more per month and the items were pathetic! I wound up canceling after 2 bags. What a shame that something that I was once so good has gotten disgraceful. A big waste of money!

Never received my bag. The only way to contact customer service is by email and they don't respond for 5 days, then they're emails are disorganized. They say they can't fins my account. I have to prove everything. It took more than 20 days for them to take action (after the time the sight says you have to wait to contact them if you don't get your bag), after repeated attempts to correspond with them; I send over 12 emails. They said they would send another bag. Another 15 days after they made that claim and still no email to say that this replacement bag has even shipped. What the heck! So now it has been months since I paid for the bag. So annoying and frustrating!

Tip for consumers:
Look for another company that offers the same product but has a customer service phone number. Also, find out what the delivery time is exactly. Do not wait for product to be delivered late; Covid is not an excuse. If most companies can get their packages out on time then this company should not be 60- 90 days late. If it's late, don't bother with their customer service contact your credit card company ASAP.

I received my February 2016 bag and it was almost empty - only a few products. I went onto Youtube to see other reviews for February 2016, and saw that some subscribers received more and better quality of products than I did. I'll give them one more month and if they don't improve I'm cancelling and they better not continue charging my card either.

I cancelled after the first month because the bag of items was trash. They wouldnt let me delete my card info, so I said whatever I cancelled its good. Three months later I find they signed me up for a different refreshment pack and have been charging me monthly since. Do not order from them. Terrible company, no refund available.

Ipsy used to be my favorite makeup sub box. Now, they are throwing in unknown brands and including items like cheap children's lip balm and so called $200 items that have genetic ingredients compared to their real brand name counterpart. I guess it's legal for a company to knock off their own brand, but then they really shouldn't be pricing it the same as the original product! Plus, they are not upfront about these knocked off products, you have to do the research yourself. Also, they are including items such as an unknown brand of menstrual moisturizer... not for everyone! If you like repeats of Huda palettes and unknown brands, you might like paying $25 - $50 a month for this, otherwise try another sub box!

Four months so far without transaction problems. They do hit the card a while before they ship. I have had one item missing from a mailer. They use bubble mailers that have self adhesive. The company mailed a replacement. That is good service considering these are inexpensive samples. Not canceling yet as most products are higher quality. I don't participate in the social media they make a big part of earning extra free stuff. The rewards don't tempt me.

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to cancel my subscription. They make it extremely difficult. When you do finally cancel they will randomly resign you up and charge you. This morning I woke up snd noticed that they had upped the price by $5 without any warning. Absolutely not okay. They need to send out an email in advance if they're going to do that. I will be cancelling because it's not worth $15 and believe me I've been a subscriber for over 2 years. Maybe one of the 5 products will actually be something you wanted and signed up for. I end up giving away most of my Ipsy bag to friends.

This company doesn't not even have a phone customer service. Good luck if you are trying to contact them. They stole my money never revived about 6 bags from them. Spent more than $70 for nothing. They never reached back to me with an explanation or response. They simply igonered all my messages. It is so frustrating to talk someone about a situation like this via email. Horrible company.

In the billing decription they clearly said they will only charge 11 out of 12 months a year and yet when I review my bank statements last year they actually charged all 12 months. I don't mind paying for the products because $10 really doesn't mean anything but I hate it when a business lies to me like I'm easy to take advantage of. More importantly, I am quite sure they do not personalize their bags. Im usually cool with anything but multiple times I have said that I do not want tanning products and nail polish, I work at a high end beauty salon so I would never use random nail polish and yet I got 4 tanning products and 6 nail polishes in a little more than a year. I kept reviewing every single one of those products to make sure they get the message but so far it's been hopeless.

I really love getting my monthly ipsy bag! It has been over a year now. It's a great way for me to try out products, it's only $10, and I can change my preferences as needed. I have discovered some great skin care products and makeup that I would have never tried otherwise!

I have been getting it a while, but the personalization is awful. Let's say, out of 10 bags, I only got stuff I really liked in 4. I give everything else away to friends. They never get my colors right. Always send me the same stuff or stuff I'll never use. Unsubscribed today. Just not worth it anymore.

My girls looked forward to their Ipsy boxes every month. Made for a great Xmas/BD present. Until my Credit card changed. Ipsy does NOT accept customer service calls. Couldn't remember login and just wanted to update my CC info. Don't think it is wise to deal with a company that cares so little that you can't even talk to a person.

Ipsy claims to "personalize" every bag please explain why I get the same things as people with completely different profiles then me, for example I received a blonde eyebrow pencil... I have dark brown hair. (this wasn't the only thing that was incorrect). As well as the horrible service. I had three glam bags get shipped too me almost a month late as well as a few broken products that I emailed them about several times with no replies... I finally cancelled my subscription there is so many other better options out there for monthly beauty bags this is too much trouble to bother with every month.

I received my ipsy bag today and am very unhappy. The Meet Matte Hughes Lip Gloss was "cakey", the nail polish (black with no ingredient list), the bag is cheap looking, the lotion (no scent), and the Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion (sm. Tube was already opened). Thanks for the $10 tweezers I guess. Oh, and last month, the fake eyelashes? Lame. Started out pretty ok, but now I'm just disappointed that I fell for this gimmick biz.

Verified purchase

I signed up for the Ipsy bag subscription because I've been wanting to try new makeup, but I don't wear it enough to justify buying actual full-sized products. So anyway, I placed my order in the first week of February, got my confirmation, got charged for the bag, and then never heard another word. By the last week of February I still hadn't gotten my bag, so I had to contact customer service through their Facebook page. Miraculously after I inquired about where my bag was, I immediately got a notification that it shipped from the warehouse. Then, a week later (today) I check the tracking number and the bag hasn't moved from the warehouse. It's now been a full month, and thankfully I cancelled my subscription because if I hadn't I'd be paying for two bags I still don't have. Thankfully the customer service rep that I worked with was very helpful and didn't try to steer me into re-subscribing.

Tip for consumers:
Be ready to wait about 1.5 months before you actually receive the bag.

I figured I'd be fair and add a review for Ipsy after leaving one for Birchbox. So far, all of my bags have arrived on time and in great condition. The value of the products has been great, so I do feel like I'm getting my $10 worth. My November 2015 bag, for example, has a value of over $34 (not counting the included monthly makeup bag) when calculating the price per ounce value of the products included, which is awesome for a $10 bag.

I do have one concern, the waitlist. You're removed from the waitlist by sharing your social media information and contributing to them via viral marketing. Not fun, and I'll admit that it annoyed me when I first signed up, so I can see how this would turn off other potential customers.

So far so good, but there's definitely room for improvement.

Been subscribed to ipsy for 2 years and we've had our ups and downs but I'm DONE. Glam bag didn't come this month so I emailed them and the rep got back to me and said it was because I moved. That's certainly news to me. I corrected them and say no I did not move and they didn't listen to me because apparently they're hell bent on telling me how to live my life. So according to the great know all, see all, ispyCare people, I've moved. Fancy being told by other people what you're doing with your life! Still no bag btw.

"They personalize your bags"
Then tell me why a girl who has a completely different profile have the same items I do.

"Only $10 a month"
Lol, not for Canadians!

"Skip the wait list!"
And then spend the next three weeks wondering if your bag will ever leave Harrisburg NC, sending multiple customer service requests, getting pretty much the same answer.

"Amazing brands"
That you can get at a dollar store, or online for cheap.

I am very very very disappointed with this. They use YouTubers to draw you in, when of course they would never use the products you get in YOUR bag because why would they want to use a 4 dollar lipstick or a tiny sampler of eye primer.
Stay away from this company!

My April bag never showed up, which I emailed Ipsy of the missing shipment. They emailed me back the next day stating they would send a replacement bag with tracking in 5-7 days. I am extremely satisfied with their fast and friendly team. I've found many full sized items of high quality and well known products. I've also tried new makeup companies that I wouldn't have tried without Ipsy. Thank you Ipsy!

I was charged for April 2020 but never received beauty bag although shipping tracking was provided which shows it was delivered to my address. The company is scamming people and perhaps having some collaboration with shipping companies. The app asks me if I am connected to internet when I use contact ipsy link.

Buyer Beware, we had a very difficult time getting them to stop charging the monthly fee. Had to finally call Discover to remove charge. That was a year ago. Guess what, they charged us again and when we went into the account, it says that the account has been cancelled.

They have sent me a brow pencil, perfume, and blush. All of which I specifically asked NOT to receive. Maybe the beauty consultants should put more effort into reading the profiles of customers. Isn't the point to get us to like the products and potentially buy them? Maybe I misunderstood.

Each month I get my Ipsy bag and find wonderful products. I have not found a sample I don't like. The cosmetic bags are cute. I will be buying many of the products. Thanks for showing what will be in my monthly bags and sending them out on time every month. I'm 62 years old and still love my makeup.
