I came in here to shout out the IPSY customer service. I have been a loyal IPSY user for 6+ years. The basic glam bag is plenty for me since I like to try items before I buy full size. Throughout the years I have had some problems with items (wrong shade, lost packages, late delivery, etc) and they have compensated those issues promptly and with understanding. Just recently was looking through the app and realized I never got my September package. They quickly replied to my issue and promptly sent me a new package with the same (or similar) items. 10/10 on the customer service!
I joined back up for Ipsy Glam Bag. The price is now a total of $7 more per month and the items were pathetic! I wound up canceling after 2 bags. What a shame that something that I was once so good has gotten disgraceful. A big waste of money!
Great bags I usually like 4 of my 5 products. I loved when the bags were designed with some theme in mind, now about 6/12 bags are really spectacular.
I signed up, with credit card to find out there's a waiting list. Doesn't say anything clearly about that until you put your card info in. Saw that, immediately asked to CANCEL my membership and not be charged. Representative emails me back, which I don't see until my card is charged a week later saying she moved me off the waiting list, which I DID NOT ASK FOR and charged my card anyways.
Cancel my subscription twice and they kept charging me. They are liars and thieves, Worthless $#*! hole company. Do not sign up with them, they will steal from you.

Your company took $113.00 out of my account when I was told it would be TEN DOLLARS. You caused my account to come up SHORT. Now you have caused me late fees on my other accounts which are taken out the FIRST OF THE MONTH. I am on a FIXED INCOME, SO AFTER I READ TEN DOLLARS A MONTH, THAT AMOUNT COULD FIT INTO MY BUDGET. I WILL NEVER TRUST YOU AGAIN.IF I HAD KNOWN THIS IS HOW IPSY OPERATE THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD HAVE TRUSTED YOUR COMPANY. THANKS #BUT NO THANKS>I NEED AND WANT MY MONEY PUT BACK IN MY ACCOUNT. I joined Ipsy awhile ago and I will say my only negative is I have over 50 bags that I might never use (the cute bags all your items are sent in)
First you take a quiz which helps them decide what to send you and I'm not a fan of certain things so I checked those boxes of not interested. At any time I wish to change my mind I can go into my account and update it. I did state I love nail polish and every bag I'm getting nail polish! I get a cute bag with 5 items inside you get at least 2 full size products! The price of $10 is a steal! I've added some of my bags up and they have been over $30. I love that I control what I get I asked for no hair care products (since I'm dealing with some health issues and on strict hair care items from doctors) and they don't send any hair items. I also said I'm into lip gloss/stick and nail polish and my bags include those.
For $10 a custom bag that's easier and cheaper than ordering a meal that mostly the fast food place would mess up! Plus you'll gain 5lbs of fat and guilt lol
Heads Up: Unless you plan to never unsubscribe to Ipsy, do not sign up. I have tried to unsubscribe several times. My problem lay in the fact that, since communicating with Ipsy in June, my email has been disconnected from my account. Yes, I'm receiving my bags, and yes, I'm being billed in a timely fashion; however, when I try to log on to my account with the email that I communicated with customer service with in the summer, it doesn't even let me login. I have attempted to do several things: reset my password (apparently my email no longer exists), contact customer service, and call - the number I found was not valid.
As for the products? I'll be honest, I've been lucky enough to get one nice product out of every other sample. But these samples are not worth 50+ dollars as they advertise. I've never received a MAC, Essie, or any other brand of that caliber. That being said, it's a fun way to experiment without breaking the bank. Just be cautioned that when you're done, it may be hard to end.
IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO, I WOULD! I ordered the products months ago and haven't received anything. I canceled my membership and they still are taking money from my account! I had to involve my bank to get my money back after attempting to communicate with the corporate office which was almost impossible to find. They have no phone number listed so they try to make it very difficult when you have a problem. I am going to report this company to the Better Business Bureau for fraud and all I can say is BEWARE...

I gave it a try for 7 months. Filling out my style quiz I was very specific about what I liked and didn't like. My first month was great! But after that I got a constant supply of glittery, gaudy junk. Blue finger nail polish 2 months?! But In the quiz I stated I don't wear polish. Deep burgundy glitter eye shadow!? In the style quiz I chose "natural" make up style. Gold eyeliner?! Again, not a natural makeup style. In looking at the other products offered each month there were plenty of items that fit the quiz answers I gave. But I didn't receive those samples, only the ones that seemed to be the junky left overs. I subscribe to Walmart, Target, and Allure beauty boxes. I love them all! I have had maybe 4 items over the same time period that haven't worked. The 3 other subscription boxes are far, far superior to Ipsy in quality, variety, and wearability. Cancelling Ipsy is a nightmare. I tried to cancel Ipsy for 3 months with no results. I finally had to have my bank intervene and issue a block on future charges for a year! I completed their online cancellation process 3 times, and emailed them 5 times with no results. The charges kept showing up monthly. My advice is to try one of the other subscription boxes before throwing your money away with Ipsy.
About a year ago I subscribed to Ipsy thinking it would be an exciting present I could treat myself with each month. No. Not the case. Everytme I received an item that was useless to me I reviewed it and said for them to not send me any more skin treatments due to my sensitive skin. Yet, they kept sending me the same type of product in a different brand. Although I understand they can't review EVERY customers reviews, I sent a review every month and nothing changed. I unsubscribed and they KEEP charging me! There is no call center, no way to delete account or billing info, and no way to contact other that through twitter. I have been trying to get them to stop charging my account for 2 months now and they STILL haven't gotten back to me through twitter. PLUS they haven't sent me any glam boxes even though I've been paying for them. WORST SUBSCRIPTION EVER!
I tried to be patient with Ipsy but today I cancelled my subscription! IT IS A WASTE OF $10! Filling out the personalized quiz is a waste of damn time because the bags I received were NEVER personalized! I am an African-American/Dominican woman with BLACK HAIR and I receive light brown and blonde eyebrow pencils! Like wtf?! And the lip colors are never vibrant, matte, or adventurous! Bland, stale colors that you can just gift to your grandmother. WARNING: DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO IPSY!
They send me an email almost everyday! It is very annoying. I never ever signed up for this and do not want it. Please stop sending me emails 24/7. I can't stand it.

The products you get are mediocre at best. In January I ordered my first (and last) I spy glam bag plus bag, i was sent a refreshment bag and thought it was a nice freebie but they charged me $13 for it even though i didn't order it they just sent it to me without my permission. I got my first months bag in February are wasn't impresses so I canceled my subscription. Today I get an email I need to complete my bag so I click on my account and it's active again. They charged me $32 yesterday to send me a May bag after I canceled my subscription in February. I had to Re cancel it which is SO CONFUSING and you need to jump through all these hoops to do.

I tried to understand why they charge a person multiple times for one month! No more for me. The same happened to my friends. The products are great. The charges are excessive.
Tip for consumers:
You sign up for a cost of a bag. Then, you get these other charges

I've only had Ipsy for about three months, and have been overall disappointed in the quality of both the bag and cosmetic products. If you have Ipsy, you might recall taking the "Beauty Quiz" in which they make you select brand and cosmetic preferences to "customize" your bag. I haven't been receiving products I can actually put to good use. All I get are very cheap and flimsy chapsticks and cheap makeup brand items in each box. Occasionally they'll throw in a makeup brush, but that's only happened once. I know it would be too high of an expectation to expect getting every brand and item you want in a glam bag, but I haven't received ANY of the brands or cosmetic items I selected on the quiz which I find very frustrating. Besides that the bags are terrible. The bag is flimsy and the zippers always seem to fall apart. The whole bag all together isn't even worth ten dollars for the quality I'm getting out of it. I will give June a try, but if I'm not satisfied with that I will surely cancel my subscription.
I was an IPSY customer for years when they first started out, never had a single problem. I stopped service as I lost interest in wearing cosmetics. My daughter is now a teen and has been interested in starting a subscription because I have kept all my little Ipsy bags, and a makeup YouTube watcher- she's been asking for a while. Today marked my 2nd attempt at trying to restart my subscription for her. First one was around most recent Christmas. I selected a monthly subscription, ipsy took the monthly subscription and a few hours later, took more, a lot more, like an annual subscription fee. I inquired- received a refund and let it go. Today I received an email, a promotional email from ipsy, offering a considerate gift if i reactivated my monthly subscription. The promotion email read monthly, explained monthly fees that would be taken from my account. I clicked the link to reactivate and boom, $162 was taken from my account. Why? I inquired Ipsy customer service team again, they refunded my money and cancelled the subscription all together even though I requested the difference from the monthly subscription ($13-$15) but whatever I figured I'd try manually tomorrow morning. Except I won't, because here I am trying to fall asleep at 11:00pm and got an alert from my credit card that Ipsy tried charging my account for another $162…after the customer service representative claimed they in initiated a refund just earlier today. WTH is going on with this business? Strongly recommend going elsewhere- this place has placed themselves into the sewers.
Tip for consumers:
Be careful with providing this business with your credit card information.

I have very much enjoyed receiving my ipsy every month. Not always to my profile but most products are high end and fun to try. What i dont use i just give to a girlfriend or one of my daughters.
DO NOT use this service! I absolutely loved it when it started. It was $10/mo, and I received my amazing and fun monthly bags just fine. When Covid hit, I cancelled. I began my service again three months ago, and it's been a nightmare. I don't know if they changed ownership? I never received my first bag although it was charged to my account per my bank($13.00) mind you, no longer $10. Okay, whatever... I called about it. I got a "Glam Bot" that said my payment was declined and they don't do refunds. Again, okay... I figured I would just eat the $16.00(plus taxes) I got my "second" bag. Not only did it not reflect my profile requests, but it was less impressive than what I could have purchased in
a grocery store Travel Size isle. I filed a complaint. The next month... I received THE EXACT SAME BAG! I cancelled my subscription, requested a replacement bag and guess what? The "Bot" could not assist me because I no longer had an account. I am exploring other online options that actually offer great products, and more importantly, actual customer service. Ultimately, I was charged $48 for the ONE good product I received two months in a row, and it's a lip gloss about the size of my thumb.

Firstly let me state I typically like 3 out of 4 items in my bag. This month however I received an eye shadow that is the same color they've sent me the last 3 months (dislike), I received a blush that is way too bright for anyone to wear especially if your like me and have pale to fair skin it's terrible (dislike), the lip gloss I got was great but they also sent a tinted lip balm along with it which I have no use for either so I thought lol as it does not work as a lip balm but it did tame my fly aways when I was on the go! I sent them an e-mail in regards to the blush and it made me a little upset when one of things said in the e-mail was to re-take the quiz or make sure everything is exactly how I like to prevent mistakes. Of course I went ahead and seen what I marked on the quiz and I definitely stated I had pale skin and the blush/bronzer selection was not even selected, So my complaint here is can they please check our skin tones before sending out products or somehow have a return policy for this type of stuff! I hate being wasteful... Thank you for reading.
I started with Glambag 3 years ago. During that time, they REALLY upped their game- almost all luxury deluxe samples, only for $10. Loved the little bags, have my entire collection of them. I'm currently using glambagplus where I get 5 full sized products, all high end. Each glambagplus has easily been $150 in products, for $25/month. Now I've upgraded to Glambag Ultimate- 8 full size products (1 of my own choice, natch), plus 5 deluxe samples. I'll be getting my first Ultimaye box in October, and I'm super excited! We're talking Huda Beauty, Tarte, Ciate, Nomad, Sunday Riley, etc. Plus the little beauty quiz let's me personalize my order- I like to get things I might not normally buy for myself- with Ipsy I've gotten to discover a lot of great products. I cannot rave more, I LOVE IPSY
I cancelled Ipsy subscription 1 year ago. Suddenly a week ago I see 2 random charges of $94 on my account and it just said paypal. I went to look on Paypal and saw that it was coming from Ipsy! I found out there's no phone number to call Ipsy. I wrote an email to them and waited (24 hours!) for the response that just said they will forward my email to "billing email" as soon as I provide them with screenshots of my bank account saying that it's from ipsy... I provided them with pictures and did not receive a response, so I wrote 2 more emails asking why this money was taken out of my account and no one response AGAIN! A week later, Ipsy responds saying that they apologize for not responding right away and that they see that money was refunded (they are right, money was refunded at this point, but it took almost 2 weeks to refund). They never provided an explanation of why this money was taken out in the first place... and at this point I was done and did not want to respond anymore because I didn't want to wait for another week for a response... Beware of this company!
Im being generous with a 2 star here. I will however start with saying i LOVE the products. However i have had SO MANY issues with shipping and customer service. My first 2 bags were on time. The next FIVE have been late, or my ROOMATE recieved hers a ridiculous amount of time before mine is recieved. Everytime ive emailed them theyve tried to just tell me its the post office and they have no control over it once it ships from their facility. Why are they not shipping at the same time if theyre marked for THE SAME location. It's absolutely pathetic that they also do nothing to try and make the situation better except for playing the blame game.
Okkkk so I paid for the full size subscription. Not only did it not ship for over a month but I think it only ended up being sent because I emailed their customer service three times asking for it. When it arrived they sent me THREE OF THE SAME EXCAT PRODUCT which I believe is their own cheap line. At sign up it shows products like Indie Lee or Grown Alchemist and THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU GET! Also be super careful when you try to stop your subscription because it tries to trick you into signing up for other services. This whole thing IS A SCAM. I added a pic of what I eventually got from them and it's probs a total of $5 in super cheap products made by them. Wish I had seen these reviews before I made the mistake of giving any money to them.

As part of a New Year's resolution I decided to join the subscription club ipsy.com. It sounded like a great bargain. I decided to splurge and go for the 1 year plan which was 110.00 for the entire year and I would receive 1 "Glam Bag" every month.
The very second I hit subscribe and entered my payment information I was notified that I would be placed on a wait list unless I announced my decision on all kinds of social media sites. I was a little peeved. I was not told about the wait list situation until after I had confirmed my subscription.
I thought it over for a day and then decided to contact customer service to see about cancelling my spot on the wait list and to delete my account and payment info. I was assured by a representative that I had been removed and that everything was taken care of.
The first of February I was charged 110.00! I got on the website and found that my account was still active. I immediately cancelled my subscription with would auto renew next year. (This method of cancelling was not an option while on the wait list. I had to contact a customer service member to be removed.)
So after all is said and done... I've been charged 110.00 after asking to be removed. This "Glam Bag" had better be worth it.
This is to warn anyone considering ipsy.com that there is a wait list and be 100% sure you want their service because cancelling isn't guaranteed.
I really like Ipsy. I've subscribed to several beauty-themed monthly subscription boxes and Ipsy so far is the best of the bunch. I've received 4 monthly 'boxes' so far and they've all had at least a couple of samples that I've loved. I won't use them all, but someone I know will and for $10, it seems well-priced. My wishes:
- Every month, the samples are packed in a makeup bag that fits the theme or season. Cool idea, but I'd rather receive the option of choosing to receive the bag OR an extra sample. A bag a quarter... maybe, but a bag every month seems excessive--I just don't go through makeup bags that fast. I can't even gift them that quickly!
- I wish the site didn't seem to promise customization of items. It has a 'quiz' that personalizes selections based on your profile. It asks things like color preferences and categories of interest or disinterest, but doesn't seem to do much - or anything - with the information. They say that there are nine or so different sample bags each month, but it seems like I'm just randomly selected. These are frustrating, because the value of the bags vary--with some people receiving samples from high end brands and others receiving drugstore brands consistently. Nothing wrong with drugstore brands, but it stinks to know that you're paying the same amount as someone else and they're receiving the exotic sports car while you're driving the economy model. You know?
But, those are wishes--I like and would recommend Ipsy to any cosmetic junky.
