I came in here to shout out the IPSY customer service. I have been a loyal IPSY user for 6+ years. The basic glam bag is plenty for me since I like to try items before I buy full size. Throughout the years I have had some problems with items (wrong shade, lost packages, late delivery, etc) and they have compensated those issues promptly and with understanding. Just recently was looking through the app and realized I never got my September package. They quickly replied to my issue and promptly sent me a new package with the same (or similar) items. 10/10 on the customer service!
I joined back up for Ipsy Glam Bag. The price is now a total of $7 more per month and the items were pathetic! I wound up canceling after 2 bags. What a shame that something that I was once so good has gotten disgraceful. A big waste of money!
The good: I've been using ipsy for over 4 years. I enjoy receiving my bag every month. Here and there, I don't like some of the products, but that's okay because I signed up to try new things and they can't please everyone. Occasionally some eyeshadow comes cracked, but I assume that happens in shipping and don't blame ipsy. I find a lot of value in the full size products that I get and actually like, because sometimes when you break it down, you're paying $5 for a luxury $155 face cream, etc.
The bad: The app is terrible and hasn't been updated in years, that I've found. When you order products through the app, it crashes a lot and you have to start over. There is no "back" button so if you take a wrong turn when perusing the app, you need to go back to the home page and start again. When you actually are successful, the shipping costs are very expensive and take a long time in processing and shipping.
The worst: They don't publish any customer support phone numbers or emails. On the app, it says to contact them on social media, but their facebook messenger account is turned off so you can't contact them. They now have a virtual assistant that doesn't even do anything. It looks like if you have any problems, they are an impenetrable fortress and you're on your own.
Tip for consumers:
approach with open mind if you are into trying new beauty products

I have never written a bad review until now, IPSY is the worst. I was so excited to get my first glam bag and then when it finally came I was so disappointed, The things I got I didn't even mark I liked. So I called them and they said I received the items due to a questionnaire I filled out, if that were true then they went against everything I liked, its not worth the 10 dollars or the headache I say use your money for a Walmart beauty box they are so much better.
I read reviews seen youtubers and they all had something negative to say I thought o would get lotions and shampoos no make up but all I got was glam products that I liked trying and my shade was on point I'm sorry for the people who are dissatisfied with yours but as long as mine stays on the make up I'll love it great job ipsy! Loved my bag far as products go the liquid lipstick was streaky but beautiful color the liner was wonderful except the color it could have been darker the lip balm was not for me the tart bronzer I loved no complaints there and the brush was wonderful it worked great so soft and firm just how I like them thank you so much can't wait to see next months bag. Marilyn Mercado find me on Instagram and face book I will be sharing this
I'm sorry but this service is run by a bunch of scammers.
I FINALLY had a bag coming with products and add ons I was SO excited for! For the first time ever I was getting things I wanted! It took 2 weeks for me to receive a shipping confirmation, and that was the last I ever heard of my July bag. According to tracking my July bag was never even scanned in at the post office. They printed a label so it looked like it was coming but... nope. I thought maybe it got lost... then I talked to 3 others who also shipped on the 14th and same EXACT thing. No movement, NOTHING! I contacted Ipsy and they assured me over and over it was coming but sent a replacement anyways only thing is the replacement isn't going to be ANY of the items I was excited for! None of them! Let's be real about this. IPSY over sold products, some of us got them and some of us had our packages " go missing" aka it never existed. It was never coming, because ipsy didn't even bother to send them out.
Don't join ipsy. I plan to make sure every single person I talk to knows they are awful so I can save others the monthly headache.
Ipsy is a scam!

I started out with a subscription with Ipsy(myglam) in 2013 and it was fine for a about 10 months. After that, I decided to cancel the subscription and emailed them. They did not cancel it and kept sending packages and charging me, so I called them several times and they said they would cancel and they never did. FINALLY I called the credit card company and blocked their account. I am going to contact the BBB and report them.
After years this subscription has gone to waste not only have they upped the price every year but you get the same products no matter how much you change your preferences. Don't waste your money
It has been over a month, and I still not have received my first Ipsy order. Since then, I have canceled my membership. Members are unable to speak with an actual person. It is not an option. You have to respond to a robo chat online, and it does not understand and questions you ask. It says it learns and is still learning? Whatever that means. There is no number to call. And once you cancel, you are unable to delete your credit card information in your account profile. I was able to track my order, and as of rt now it is somewhere in Texas (I live in Idaho) and is being handled by DSL. If I get charged in the future after canceling, I will report them to the BBB. And if I do not receive my package that I have already paid for? I will report them to the BBB. Awful company all around. Stay away
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site.

Everyone always finds SOMETHING to complain about. Ipsy sends you a bag of beauty products for 10 dollars... only 10 dollars a month. The bag, plus one item ALONE, is worth that 10 dollars. You fill out a survey and they build your bag based on what your answers are. You are encouraged to retake your survey as often as you like, so it will change things up and/or come closer to what you want every month. It's a fabulous club/deal for a small fee.
As far as social media is concerned, once you rate the items you have the CHOICE to post on social media. Doing so does increase your points received. I, personally, wait until I receive my items in the mail, THEN I rate them. I allow Ipsy to post on my social media page, but I immediately go to my social media page and change the setting of who can view each individual post to "only me." This enables me to receive the full amount of points available but not flood everyone else's news feed with my silly, personal opinions on these products. So many points accumulated result in your choice of extra items you can "buy" with those points.
There are also products available for purchase at a tremendous discount. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9 a.m. (pacific time), Ipsy posts these deals and it's a first come, first serve basis. If these products sell out, which often times they do very quickly, there is a link to that product on the manufacturers website which also, often times, gives you a discount, just not as good of a deal as the Ipsy offer.
Ipsy is a fabulous thing and I'm very happy with my decision to join.
Fantastic deal... fantastic customer service! Great little bags filled with great cosmetics... what not to love! Any problem I ever had they fixed right away!
Never received product after buying a "subscription". Horrible website and service if you plan on trying this service expect to be confused and ripped off
THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T SEND PRODUCTS THEY PROMISE
CHARGED ME TWICE ONCE FOR 2 BAGS I DID NOT GET. COUPLE OF DAYS LATER THEY TOOK $126. OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT AGAIN AFTER THE$26.00 ONE. I HAD TO EMAIL AND ASK WHY. THE PHONE THEY HAVE LISTED FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT IN SERVICE. WEL I GOT THE $126 REFUNDED. TWO DAYS LATER THEY TOOK IT OUT AGAIN. REPORTING TO BETTER BUSINESS AND BEWARE SENIOR CITIZENS OF THIS COMPANY..
I've had an Ipsy subscription, along with my 2 teenage daughter's well over a year. I finally got tired of the same ole products they were sending me so I cancelled it, but when I went to cancel my children's subscriptions, Ipsy would NOT let me cancel them. I tried several times, I went thru ALL their ridiculous steps, with no success, I tried to find a customer service number, which they DO NOT HAVE! The ONLY WAY of contacting them to cancel the subscriptions was an email and I tried that route, in which I had NO success so I finally called my credit card company and put a block on the payments to Ipsy! So my advice is to steer clear of this company!
No problems what so ever. I share with my daughters and they love it too. I think it is well worth the ten dollars each month! So far i have received 8 glam bags. FUN!
I paid for my 1st month and never revived a bag. Thought I would give them another try. I loved getting them once they started coming. I got them for 5 months but on the 6th month I waited and waited... but it's the 16th and no bag, but they took the money out of my account on the 1st. It was always was in my mailnox by the 10th.
After long few weeks if work. My first ipsy bag was such a nice surprise. I too was on wait list as well but super happy when it came. Now I have a few things to enhance my beauty!
I have faithfully received my ipsy bag since 2014. It took me a while to realize how to utilize the account to make the selections more to products i would like. Ipsy is not a scam and does not just send cheap products. If you receive products you have never heard of that is because there are millions of different companies making products and some may be new, that does not make them bad. If you take time to do your monthly review of ipsy items then your bag will become more and more personalized. If you change your preferences under your account so often you can change up what you receive and if you pick only a few stores from which you normally buy cosmetics that to can limit the types of products you received. The people giving ipsy bad reviews need to realize what you are getting for 10 bucks has included shipping, let alone some of the makeup brushes you can receive are way more than 10 dollars in a beauty store. You just have to do your homework an shape Your profile to fit what you want. I change my preference every few months and it works great, the items i occasionally get that i may not need i donate or use to make gifts.
I received an email from Ipsy sayin I will get free Huda palette if I sign up. I love, love Huda makeup so I signed up just to get it. Confirmation email even said I will received the item together with my glam bag. Too good to be true. It turns out there were only very (very, very, very) limited quantity and I did not get one. The glam bag contents are not the items I want and the makeup are all made in China. I UNSUBSCRIBED immediately. Never again!
I signed up for this bag, but I was not impressed with the products so I cancelled my account before the second month. I received a confirmation that my account was successfully cancelled, but they charged me again the next month! So I had Customer Service cancel the account. Again, I received confirmation that the account was closed and I would not be charged. This process keeps repeating! This is month number 5 of UNAUTHORIZED charges! Taking the complaint to the BBB since apparently IPSY won't honor its own cancellations
The bags always have fun beauty items that I would not normally try but more often than not I use all the time once I receive them. I think this subscription is def a great deal at $10/month!
Wonder why? If you're looking for a go to place to sample make up and whatever else, great. But when you want to stop your subscription make sure you follow the instructions very carefully and check your email. First time I cancelled it kept going because I didn't confirm in an email. Thought the button was sufficient enough. Few years later I decide to give it another shot. Before I kept getting the same crap. Brushes, eyebrow crap (clear), and primers. Well the second time I get my bag which is the simple glam bag then also revived the large one as well as face wipes and lotion. I thought it was a welcome back gift. So the following month happened again. Thought it was just freebies and I never look at my bank statement. Just keep track of the total and if something looks off I start diggin. Well 5+ months this goes on. I'd get 2 plans and then the side junk. Finally realized what was going on an cancelled it all. I try to contact Ipsy but you get a stupid bot. They make sure it's extra hard. I cancelled 7/7/23 I get a charge 8/1 and the bot states I must cancel at least 24 hours before the last day of the month. Then asks if the bot was helpful. Done. Pick and choose your battles. I didn't go any further with it. The $75-$100 wasted ain't much compared to the ones who see this comment and decide to take their business elsewhere. They used to be ok when the money you paid was reasonable for what you got. Until it became the same stuff each and every month, just different name.
So I initially signed up to receive a Glam bag every month, only to find morsels of garbage (a runny hand cream, a pack of greasy face wipes, and tiny tubes of face masks and facial creams that didn't cover my face because of how small they were).
I canceled my membership only to be charged again. So I went on the website to try to speak to someone to get my money back only to be met with a half wit bot that is designed to run someone around in a circle by repeatedly asking for the customers email then sending a verification code then saying the code isn't correct and repeating the process all over again until a customer is left trying to throw their phone out the window. There is no number to call and no agent to get in touch with through the chat so I looked up their customer service number on Google only to find that the number is no longer active. This company is a scam they are a hassle and everyone who has had a bad experience with them needs to shout it from every media platform on the whole wide web ie Facebook Instagram Snapchat Myspace YouTube Twitter etc.
The only way I am going to get my money back is by going directly to my bank and having them stop the charges and have to file a whole claim which will take weeks and they took money from my account when I need my money the most these pieces of sh&- deserve to be in prison for theft on a grand scale!

Ipsy, you've lost me to Birchbox. I wish you well to keep hanging onto those pre-teens you cater to. As a customer for almost a year and half, once in a while you'd get a nice looking bag. I understand they must be cheap in quality to fit them in for under $10 a month, but my god are they horrible and oh, so ugly. No correlation with seasons or trends. I felt like the designers in charge were just throwing crap at a wall and hoping something stuck. I always received a wide variety of makeup and 5 burnt brown lipsticks... which seemed to be the only trend they got right even as a fair skinned person I'm still trying to find someone to give them to. I'm running out of uses for ugly mini-cosmetic bags. :/ Ultimately, the point system lost me. You could only use them when they had product in stock, which I felt was wrong. A customer wants to cash in their points when they want to cash in their points! They shouldn't be punished because the company doesn't supply enough rewards to go around or you're forced to check Ipsy everyday to see if its restocked before everything sells out again by the end of the day. Completely ridiculous. And the social media bombardment... ugh. No Ipsy, I do not want you connected to every aspect of my online life. You may think you are entitled to it by your founder but you are sadly mistaken. Hello Birchbox, more chic boxes and contents, more box options, points are usable whenever, and no social media harassment; in love already.
I ordered an ipsy bag over a month ago. The day it was shipped out of the warehouse was September 9th. The day it was supposede to be at my house was September 14th. It's now September 19th and I have yet to receive my bag. I cancelled my subscription because I'm not spending $10 on a product I never even received. I want my money back and I will never ever subscribe to them again.
I have been receiving Ipsy Glam Bags for several months now and have been completely satisfied. I look forward to trying out new products and it's fun to get that pink package in the mail every month. Along with your subscription comes offers for great savings on beauty products, all at a deeply discounted price. All of the products total far more than the $10 you spend on the bag, usually $40 and up. If a product arrives damaged/broken, simply email customer service and they will send you a replacement product. Recently, I had a face lotion come open in my bag - thankfully it was double bagged - so I emailed Ipsy. They sent me a cleansing face foam that retails for $55! (3lab) It's easy to "earn" points to get free products also. If you are unhappy with the items you are receiving, simply change the information in your profile and Ipsy alters your bag to fit your requirements. Products are full size or slightly smaller. What you won't get is tiny samples like other subscription boxes out there. This is money well spent if you like makeup and hair/skin care products.
I didn't even want to give 1 star! I haven't received a bag since APRIL yet, they still charge me every month! I have called several times, with ZERO response! They say to email them, yet there is no email listed anywhere! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! If they don't want people to cancel, maybe they should have a better way to contact them with issues!
