I bought the Black Kona fabric to use in a Quiltworx pattern. After completing the whole quilt I put it in the washing machine to set the colors. I used delicate settings. When I pulled the quilt out of the washer I was devastated!! Every seam where I used the Joann Fabric it had shredded and left gaping hole. This was not just in one or two places but the whole quilt was full of holes!! I will never use fabric from Johann's again!! All my time and expense was a total waste!! The pictures don't tell half the story.
I made a purchase for $241 not only did they not have my complete order but they charge me another $182 for a partial order but kept the $241 hold on my account which basically made a total hold/withdraw of $423 out of my account. Which lead to bounced checks and over draft fees just the biggest headache ever. I had to jump through hoops to get stuff straightened out at my bank all because of Joann fabrics.
Joann Fabrics on-line are terrible. First, they left out part of my order than I had to reorder it and since I ordered it, every day I get a notice that the delivery date is moved by another day. They are the worse online service I have ever seen. NEVER will I order online with Joann's again. Three weeks out and I still do not have all of my order. Absolutely the worse I have ever experienced.
JoAnn, So Burlington, VT. Sales ladies are nice, but merch is overpriced. Coupons are misleading with too much small print disallowing the discounts. Staff is short handed. Never enough associates to cut fabric nor check out. Fabric is frequently short of measure by the time you get it home and straighten it out to form a right angle of the length and width.
Earlier this week I requested a price check on a package of serger needles. The check out lady did it. There was one package among a lot of notions I was purchasing. When I got home and checked my sales slip, the package had been added twice to the order. Apparently the price check added it to the order and then when she actually scanned my items, it got added in again. For the $6.49 it cost, I cannot waste my gasoline and time to go back there. If there were any other sewing stores in this area, I'd certainly not shop at Joann.
Put in an order for curbside pickup a week ago. Was told two days and then four day waiting time. Called today to check and they couldn't even tell me a time frame... One more week, two? I cancelled my order and placed an order for the same items at Michael's. Cheaper and within two hours the order was filled and waiting for pickup. Won't make that mistake again. I understand that these are rough and unusual times and don't blame the employees at all. But if a company want to offer a service and still earn money, they need to be able to fulfill basic expectations or communication needs.
I made an order about a week ago using a gift card. It changed the whole price to my debt because I had maybe 2.50 that wasn't covered by the gift card. I messaged them and they told me there nothing they can do about it. Even after showing them that I used my gift card because at first they thought I didn't use one. Now they send me a gift card refund for something that wasn't in stock instead of refunding my bank. Never shopping here again!
Just took my daughter to Joanne Fabrics in Tyngsboro, MA to buy fleece for a service project. The store was empty, but the woman directed us toward the fleece with a flick of her chin. They seemed annoyed that we needed it cut a certain size and said they could not guarantee that. They suggested we buy fragments of fleece in the marked down bin, but were sarcastic explaining to us where that was. The cashier suggested instead of Facebook tonight I download their app instead. When we left, I commented to my 14 year old daughter how rude and unhelpful everyone was. She said, "Mom, I texted my student council group and told them I was buying the fleece and that the sales people seemed mad at me." It seemed like no one enjoyed their job or helping customers at this store.
JoAnns coupons are a joke in the first place. Now they send their mailers so late, they come at the end of their sales... again another tactic... they will try anything,,, mainly when they know there are few retail stores that carry the same items... I've had to shop online with other retailers more because of JoAnn's crappy sales system. They losing more customers by their there own sales foolishness.
I highly suggest that you know what you were doing and what you need and the location of it when you go to the store. You will have a hard time finding any employees to help and when you do they not be as knowledgeable as you would hope for. So many mistakes were made during my experience, the line for the checkout was very long, and it even took extra time wasted because nobody asked if I had a coupon so I needed to make a return directly after my purchase so that I could then save over $30 on my purchase. That is significant.
They have added a handling fee of $1.95 to all orders. Even if your order meets the purchase minimum to qualify for free shipping, there is now a non-refundable $1.95 charge which they term as a "handling fee."
This is nickel and diming, and I will not order from JoAnn anymore.
I ordered and item online for pick up on 12/26/23, the site said they had 2 in stock. A few minutes later, my order was cancelled by Joann's because it was not in stock in the first place. Called customer service of course are not taking calls, they said to go through email. I called the store they blamed it on my bank, I called my bank and they said the store was responsible for cancelling the order an issuing the refund to me. Joanne's finally responded with some emails that did not make any sense to me at all and still not offering a clear answer as to when my money will be refunded back on to my debit card. I have had orders canceled through stores before and they're always refunded to me within one or two business days. I will never shop at the store again.
I realize there is a pandemic going on, but I am extremely disappointed with Joann's. I placed an order on April, 2nd. Finally received a FedEx tracking number stating that my product would be delivered on April 17th. No package was received. Checked with FedEx, a shipping label was created, but nothing was given to them to deliver. My credit card was charged (not pending, charged) and via Joann's website, the order was closed. I have sent multiple messages via their website and e-mail. ZERO response! From what I have read, their customer service has been horrible to a lot of people. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau!
I placed an order online nearly two weeks ago, still have not received it! The day I ordered it I got an email saying it had been shipped and was to be delivered February 1. February 1 came, no order. I checked the delivery status, it said it was still coming Feb. 1, no updates, no nothing. Just kept saying "check back again". It is STILL not here, it is literally crawling here at a snails pace. I will never place another online order with this place again. No excuse for the slowness, even with the bad weather. I got other packages regardless of the weather so they can't use that as an excuse!
Joann lists items that they don't have. They sold me yards of fabric, then 18 days later cancelled it because the items were out of stock. Yet online they still list the items. I called customer service and the items online really are out of stock- but are still listed! I emailed again and was basically told "too bad". Joann does not care at all about customers.
I have an $150 order of fabric that has been in process since 5. 28. 18... Today is 6. 6. 18, what is the freaking hold up on shipping my order. This is utterly ridiculous and a disrespect to me and all customer.
I've called and called complain and explained to customer service that this fabric is needed for making Father's Day gifts, but seems to me that my complaining fell on deaf ears because my order still did not ship. I am a very disgruntled customer right now and has been given no choice but to right my grief in a review.
JOANN FABRIC JOANN FABRIC please ship my order! And after this I will take my monies somewhere else.

Absolutely the worst store on the planet for a craft book. Completely disorganized and thrown together. Unless you have the entire day to look for a book then don't waste your time. Used to be a great store for craft books
The worse site Ive ever tried to order. If there is a problem on their side forget it getting it straightened out. Forget your money being refunded from their own terrible site. I ordered on their site to pickup my order at my store. I selected to pickup, no matter how many times to get the site to accept pickup it went into shipping. Charged me for shipping etc. even though within the hour of me ordering I tried and wasnt allowed to cancel. I did not want shipping nor did i select that. I will never order from them ever again.
This store is awful, awful, awful. I am not sure how they are still in business. They will steal your money. You order from them you cannot track your order. You cannot pull up tyour order history to see what was sent and what was not. They cancel half your items then when you go to the store all the items are there. They bill you but their shipping is so confusing you don't have a way of knowing if you were sent the items you were billed for. I would never recommend this store. My order arrived damaged beyond repair its been over 30 days since they confirmed they received it back and I am still waiting on my $228 refund. They will steal your money. It is a shame. I want to return everything I bought from them. They are the absolute worst ever.
Customer service is a joke. Just go to Michael's instead. I've been trying to order online and my orders are constantly canceled. I have been trying to get a real person to help and 4 hours later, nothing. Customer service can't do anything (although they did speak with me for a while) and refunds (the department that supposedly is holding up my orders) flat out told me they won't help me. Don't waste your time or money. Michaels is way better, and cheaper. This store is stuck is 1900 and won't even let you speak to a real person to get an issue resolved. Absolutely the worst experience I've had with a retail store in a long time!
I tried to register my daughters and I for a one hour cupcake decorating class. My girls are 7 and 12. I planned on being there with them. This was part a project for the 12 year old's art class exploration and part fun activity together. I guess having minor children in a one hour class to decorate cupcakes is too much a risk for Joanne Fabric. I was put on hold twice and told they needed to call me back the next day. Really? Thanks, but no thanks. I'll go to Michaels and purchase the supplies and decorate cupcakes at home from pinterest.
Answer: I feel the exact same way. They cancelled an order I placed online and they never contacted me to tell me the order was canceled. I waited three weeks for an email to come pick up an item. I could have had this item 3 weeks ago from Michaels craft store. JoAnn's sucks!
Answer: Don't order anything from Joann. Go to a flea market or Hobby Lobby who gets your order correct and treats you by the Golden Rule. Joann is terrible and I am still waiting for a refund wherein they charged my account twice for the same order. Run!
Answer: Joann online are thieves and liars. We all need to get together to file a class action lawsuit against them for charging customers twice for the same order and then shipping wrong merchandise. This isn't an innocent mistake... it is planned. The only way to stop them is via a class action lawsuit.
Answer: Depending on which Joann store take your order. The reps are so untrained and very incapable of handling a simple online order at the Menomonee Falls Wisconsin location. They will cancel your order without your knowledge and when u call, they will tell u it will be ready by the close of business. It's, not ready than and when u call back they will say, it will be ready the next day. In all reality they messed up on purpose. ONLY IN MENOMONEE FALLS WI have I always experienced this type of treatment
