A friend in Canada asked me to make a Hufflepuff patch for part of her daughter's Christmas gift. I couldn't do so as it would infringe on copyright laws, so I opted to buy the patch and include some matching buttons. Because they were no longer in stock at the local stores, I ordered them via Joann's website. To justify shipping, or get it for free, I spent an additional $80 on fabric for items I could make for other gifts. That was a few weeks ago. My order has been coming in bits and pieces. Seemingly, with the least important pieces first and I am STILL WAITING for the buttons and patch. My husband just left for the post office sans Hufflepuff items and I am quite angry. If and when they come, I will have to send them separately, pay for extra shipping, AND they will be late. Thanks for ruining her gift. Your tardiness ruined Christmas for a number of people.
Bought wrapping paper for a special kids party online 19 days ago. Checked last week was still daying processing. I emailed twice for an eta and cancel request if it wouldn't arruve by today. Not a single answer. Emailed today and got virtual Annie who said they can't cancel even though its not shipped. Also can't tell me when or if I will ever receive my item.
I order from this site a lot when they have special online only sales. I have found a good selection of craft items (rubber stamps, metal dies, paper crafting supplies) that I've never seen in the big box stores. I have gotten some incredible deals too! I bought $5 embossing folders for $2! Spellbinder dies for 60% off, I even got a new Cricut Explore with the bluetooth adapter and $25 credit for images in Cricut Design Space for $179 with free shipping! You have to check it out every week and get on their email list.
I'm not thrilled with their return policy of shipping returns back vs. taking them to a local store.
But, I've been lucky and haven't had any returns since they began their web site!
Beware, worst experience ever! Canceled half my order because they didn't have it in stock and it took two weeks one by one. Received broken earrings and they wouldn't refund right away because my order wasn't finished. Had to work with over five customer service reps still working on trying to get my refund. Stay away!
Less than an hour after placing my order, payment still pending, they couldn't cancel or alter my order. The only way to fix it was two order 2 more yards (I needed one) and pay for the additional shipping/processing fees. I was told I could reorder and return, but I wouldn't get back $7.95 shipping. I could return it to the store, but the closest one is now 80 miles from me. They said they would give me a return label for free, but oh it hasn't been processed and shipped yet so I need to call back after it does before they can make a label. What a joke.
If I wanted an incomplete order I would have went to the store. I ordered online so that I would receive ALL of the yarn I needed for a project. Instead I got maybe half my order (in 5 different boxes/shipments?!?!?)and they didn't even offer a rain check or to send the remainder when available. They Just canceled the portion of the order they claim to be out of stock in. They have plenty of this yarn! Now I have to wait for it to go on sale again to complete my project. Very unhappy with jo-Annes right now
Twice now I have placed orders and over a week later, I get an email that "the items below are no longer available and have been removed from your order. Rest assured, no charges were placed on your account for the unavailable item(s) and any authorizations will soon be removed. SOON- The order date was April 18th! Today is May 11th! And they still charged the full shipping fee! DO NOT CHOOSE JOANN! I made the same purchase from Hobby Lobby, and it was here in 4 days! (and on sale!)
Ordered from JoAnn.com, they sent the wrong order so I returned it. Used their Postage Pd Retn label and today got an email that says theyve charged me $7.95 because I used the label instead of paying on my own. HUH? Wonder how they define PPR. Ive used PPRs from other websites and have never had to pay extra to any of them. I ordered online because of their brick & mortar store good reputation. Shoulda read those reviews first.
I moved from Kansas city in April. That store was always organized and everyone was helpful and friendly. I have been to this store 3 times and have seen nothingike that.
Today I asked for help to find something and the employee looked at me and said "I am busy with other customers look it up on your phone"! Seriously? Then I got up to the very young cashier and she rang up my items and gave me a total and I said I have coupons. She let out am exasperated sigh and then scanned one coupon and I told her there was another exasperated sigh a.d she wrang it up!
If this is how this store is run I will not be back! After reading other reviews of this store it looks like I am one of many. From now on I will be going to hobby lobby!

The staff is helpful and friendly. There is such a large variaty of items to choose from. Prices very low and with coupons you can't beat them. Dispite some of the reviews I've read about bad customer service I have to disagree. Personally I have never experienced bad customer service. I've seen demanding customers with expired coupons and being unorganized delaying checkout.
I ordered two pieces of fabric with a Gift Certificate. I received one length in 2 pieces in two separate shippings. Useless, as I needed the length. The other fabric was so cheap that it was unusable. I followed the directions for returns, sent email saying I was returning and why, and received my shipping label. Sent another email... got fast responses. Was told I would be refunded when the fabric arrived. No response after that. Called twice, sent emails. They said they sent a gift certificate but I never received one. Called again, emailed again. No response. I lost out on a Gift Certificate for the second time! The first one wouldn't work at all on the online site. They DO answer phones and keep logs of orders, but are totally ineffective in fixing the problem. Just take your money elsewhere.
I ordered close to 50 yards of fabric in addition to some tools; over $200 in supplies. They canceled half the order after the first week. It was unfortunate, but I understand that in times of high demand there can be a lag in updating the website. Then, a week later, they canceled the rest of the order. The email didn't even bother telling me that the entire order had been canceled. Rather, it simply stated that some items had been canceled. I had to look up the order on the website to see that they had marked it "completed" after cancelling everything. Everything. They took 2 weeks and then canceled everything in a $200+ order. It seriously took 2 weeks for them to figure out that they have NOTHING I ordered? Unreal. What a complete waste of my time. I will never go back.
I ordered a sewing machine, 4 yards of fabric, two bobbins of thread, over $400 worth of product. They took my order, took my money, cancelled the fabric, and gave me no options to cancel the rest of the order. I accepted that and inquired about getting the money for the canceled items returned. No response was ever received, yet they accessed my bank account adjusted the balance for just the sewing machine and shipped it to me. Then they went in my account a second time, took over 20.00 for the thread + shipping. Again no communication. The thread was due for delivery last week and it never arrived. Guess what, no communication! I have emailed for status several times; nothing, no response. I will never purchase from this company again. They aren't even attempting to even respond that they are trying to track the product down. Really poor customer service and yet, they have my money and I have no product.
The site is either slower than the 2nd coming or broken...yup! They have a sale going but what else is new? Now that I think about it this is the reason I quit this site b4...grrr...poor marketing...

I spent hundreds at Joann's and had my Christmas Tree get canceled for no reason, then the charge for the tree was pending in my bank for 2 weeks, until they shipped everything and released the funds. I decided to try to reorder the tree and the website said my information was incorrect and to recheck it, I did and nothing was incorrect, so I resubmitted it, with the same response. Transaction didn't go through, yet I got charged $127 two times and after calling and emailing them several times about this tree, I was reassured the money would be back in my account in a couple days, it isn't, they actually pulled money until they couldn't anymore and now it's overdrafted because of them. I'm beyond irritated and dissatisfied with their services.
I ordered an item for my granddaughter that was needed the next week. In ordering, I changed the shipping address to my daughter's and (my mistake) I did not notice that their site automatically changed the billing address also until order was placed! I had constant emails (more than 10) and phone calls requesting that the shipping address remain the same but the billing address needed to be changed to my address. What did they do? They changed the shipping address so the pkg that was needed right away came to my address in MO rather than to IA! Called to get them to send an overnight shipping label since mistake was theirs. First call--was told it would be sent via email right away. Nothing! Called next day--was told they would do a label but it would take 3-4 days to be able to send it to me! This is ridiculous! Will NEVER order online again from them. They are very incompetent compared to other online stores!
I have been to several Joann's stores. I had an especially bad experience at the Knoxville store. I needed 1/3 yard cuts of fleece for a project. The girl started to cut, and I could tell she was cutting in a curve. I told her I wanted a 1/3 yard at the fold and selvage edge. A more experienced lady next to her told her how to cut it, and acted like I had ruined everyone's day. Well, as usual I didn't get a straight cut, and was short on the selvage edge. I bought extra to get the 10 inches I need. I hope I can get it straightened up, and get the 10 inches. If I pay for a 1/3 yard I want a 1/3 yard. They charge for 1 inch over, but don't allow for bad cutting. This happens very frequently.
Purchasing online with them is horrible Five days waiting for my singer serger machine and they told me the vendor canceled my order after I email them asking when I will receive the order? Unsatisfied customer.
I have been to the Joanns in Elko NV, many times and each time the workers were extremely rude and snappy towards me. Every time I go in there whether it was to get craft supplies or fabric the people there would always brush me off and say rude remarks to me which brings my mood down. I give Joanns so many chances and each time I get let down. I am very disappointed in Joanns and I'm getting to the point where I will just either order online or go somewhere else so I don't have to interact with the workers. I understand that not all workers do this, however, a majority of the older workers do and I'm fed up with it and don't want to waste my time and money on this Joanns ever again.
I ordered a sale item that was out of stock. I got a message it was back in and I could still get it at the sale price. Ordered it, got confirmation and my card was charged. Yep days later I got a message it was cancelled because it was out of stock again. Called and was told they didn't know why I got that message because there were plenty in stock so they reordered for me. Got confirmation. Two days later they canceled again. Called and was told yet again they were out of stock. 24 hours later I get another email that they are back in stock but now they are the normal high price. No way. Not ordering from them ever again.
Answer: I feel the exact same way. They cancelled an order I placed online and they never contacted me to tell me the order was canceled. I waited three weeks for an email to come pick up an item. I could have had this item 3 weeks ago from Michaels craft store. JoAnn's sucks!
Answer: Don't order anything from Joann. Go to a flea market or Hobby Lobby who gets your order correct and treats you by the Golden Rule. Joann is terrible and I am still waiting for a refund wherein they charged my account twice for the same order. Run!
Answer: Joann online are thieves and liars. We all need to get together to file a class action lawsuit against them for charging customers twice for the same order and then shipping wrong merchandise. This isn't an innocent mistake... it is planned. The only way to stop them is via a class action lawsuit.
Answer: Depending on which Joann store take your order. The reps are so untrained and very incapable of handling a simple online order at the Menomonee Falls Wisconsin location. They will cancel your order without your knowledge and when u call, they will tell u it will be ready by the close of business. It's, not ready than and when u call back they will say, it will be ready the next day. In all reality they messed up on purpose. ONLY IN MENOMONEE FALLS WI have I always experienced this type of treatment
