Been active on Listia for about 2 months. Already have well over 100 positive reviews - mostly selling but some buying. Haven't had a problem so far *knocks on wood." Couple of times I had a question for support and within a couple hours, I had well thought out, informative and helpful responses. Only issue is that I have one buyer that doesn't confirm delivery within a day or two like everyone else. Not that they open disputes or anything, it just locks up your funds until 20 days after payment way made. That's only 1 buyer out of dozens. Seems like they have really tightened things up in a good way since switching back to Points from Ink. Fill out some surveys and it's like free money. Highly recommend giving it a shot.
I bought a. 999 silver gram bar from what appeared to be a trusted seller but instead received a small silver grain bar about half the size of a gram. When I did all that listia asked me to do they said I didn't send pictures which I sent 3!. Regardless listia closed the account with no other options. The seller of course was happy to have my credits and not worry about making any other corrections as he can keep selling grains for grams and listia isn't incorporated enough like that of ebay, amazon or even etsy to manage a site such as this one. With all that said please do not misunderstand me there are many good sellers and buyers but listia is a great place for the con artist and listia will stand behind them.
I spent a lot of time doing surveys and I never got all of my credits! Like 1/6 of them.
Also I commented on a pair of bluetooth headphones saying I'm 13 would they fit me...
I MENT MY DAUGHTER IS 13 and then that USER REPORTED ME AND I GOT BANNED...
OVER A MISTAKE!
I was bidding on 6 items that is WOULD HAVE WON!
I LOVED YOUR WEBSITE AND WAS ABOUT TO RECOMMEND IT TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY UNTIL YOU TOOK MY ACCOUNT!
5 stars well done if not...
Hi Listia. ( Is it Tom?)
I happened upon this site and I read quickly through the column. Wow! What a bunch of babies. Whine, whine, whine! I've taken 3 losses. One, Listia was kind enough to try and solve. I didn't know the name of the Company I did the survey for. About 8000 points gone. I spent some time doing the survey but so what.
I will phone about 2 other problems. I lost a few points (so far). I don't yet know whether they will come through! I'll speak to you with no malice and see what you have to contribute to my situation. I've had 2 deaths in my family since October and missed many things I wanted. Poor me.
Having said this, I'm enjoying Listia. There are a great many nice souls out there. Some very kind. A few misfits. Ho, hum. I learned from a wise man long ago, If I think of them constantly, they win. They are not thinking about me constantly I'm certain. It's better to enjoy the good points (pun intended). In time I will likely change my rating to 5 stars. I like you guys. You seem fair to me. To the public who hate so deeply. Haven't you better to do. You'll give yourself a hernia and I'm not kidding. 300,000 points about $300.00 in cash. I bet you've lost more gambling. Alpl
Hi Alvin P,
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the site and please contact us on the site if you need any further help with anyone who's not delivering the won items to you. We take those types of things seriously and will take the appropriate actions necessary.
Thanks!
I just created an account and it says "Bidding disabled due to suspension" I got no email saying im suspended or anything but i cant bid now... very dissapointed.
I like the site, I've been selling bitcoins here now for a while. Though I still am a bit suspicious about the waiting list to sell my credits... How long does this even take normally?
Hi Lef. Thanks for the review. Since it's a fairly new credit selling program, we are slowly rolling it out. We appreciate your patience and hopefully you are added soon :)
Some lister are honest, but most are ripoffers, so called agents dont help u any. When u request help getting a refund good luck wont happen. If u want ripped off then go their. I have been ripped off too much. NOTHING IS FREE, THATS A LIE, U HAVE TO BY CREDITS, AND FREE SHIPPING, NOT TRUE THEY SEND IT POSTAGE DUE, THEN CALL U A LIAR! I AM THRU. PLEASE TAKE HEED DONT GO, TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THE TRUTH.
I stumbled on to this website a couple months ago and I am SO hooked.
I've bought/sold on eBay for over 10 years (I'll review them another time) and the rising fees have slowly taken the fun out of it. Listia is the same idea but everything (except the occasional shipping charge) is FREE. For real free. Not "we'll suck you in then sneak in the charges later" free. It's FREE free.
The general idea is that you earn credits by trading your own junk, or you can do surveys or watch videos to build them up but see my review about Trialplay before you do that. The quickest way is to clear out your closet and get rid of stuff you don't want.
Then, you use the credits you've earned, to bid on the junk you want! GOOD junk. Most of what I have gotten so far has been brand new.
A majority of the "sellers" will offer free shipping so it really is costing you absolutely $0. But some, (like me) would prefer that you pay at least some of the shipping costs.
I have given away and gotten more stuff in the last 2 months on Listia than I ever did in 6 months on eBay and I've had a lot more fun doing it.
I've been a member for over 5 years and I remember the days where one can find a good coffee maker and spend about 10k credits for it. Now, the credits are so worthless, the last auction I won was a mouse pad and I spent over 20k credits for it. I don't even bother doing the offers (or Lista) any longer because they pay jack and credits are now probably worth 1/10th of a penny each. Auctions with a GIN of 500k credits are now GINS of 5,000,000 for the same item! You guys really messed it up big time. Never again.
Well it has been a while on Listia. The customer service reps are good people. The listings are very easy. But the shipping has forced me to list very few items at this time. I have spent too much money shipping my items to other people. This site advertises as FREE. Yes it is free to sign up. It is free to list, but it is costly to ship out items to buyers for the sake of points and get very little in return. Most LIstia sellers online advertise their items for well over what they are worth. The items you see can be purchased on Ebay for 2,3 $ and free shipping to boot. Then too, you run the risk of giving away rare antiques, or good items for the sake of points, and may not get your points. It hasn't happen to me yet, and hope it does not, but some say it has happened to them. I think LIstia workers are focused on keeping things positive so I am sure they will work out something for anyone who has this experience. There is nice people on Listia for the most part. Few rude, obnoxious people here and again but mostly nice. I like Listia for the most part, but the cost to ship is enormous and buying something for yourself cost way too much. NOt worth it!
But I am adamant of keeping my acc live. I do enjoy it overall, just won'g be listing lots of items as I did in the past.
Hi Maggie,
Thanks for your review and feedback. We definitely think Listia is a great place to find items that are no longer available or hard to find. And it is often true that "One man's trash is another man's treasure." We're glad that your experience has been a good one so far and hope it continues for you.
Sincerely,
Tom
Ok, first of all Listia is a love/hate relationship for me. I love the variety of "free" items and a lot of the community is fun to talk to. Auctions are simple to list, the only thing I would change about that format is that you can only upload one photo at a time, instead of several. I wish ebay would use their listing format!
Now the bad, Listia is poorly monitored for fraudulent items and unfortunately if they don't do something about it soon, I have a feeling they will be out of business. I have purchased counterfeit coupons off of Listia, provided documentation from the company that they were fake coupons and Listia did nothing to the seller. She went on selling these coupons for months, with no reprimand. What Listia isn't thinking about is that by allowing these on their site, these companies can sue them. So, unless they can start listening to their bidders and allow for a process that allows us to report a seller without bidding on their items, they will be in trouble soon themselves.
I don't spend a ton of time on Listia, maybe a few hours a week, and generally find about 5 scammers a week without trying. Listia needs to monitor their auctions better and educate their buyers and sellers better.
So, if you decide to use Listia, review feedback like crazy! If it sounds too good to be true, it is. If a seller has several auctions with blocked comments, that is also another warning sign.
Please fix your system Listia..
Hi May W.,
Thanks for providing us with this feedback. We do our best to monitor auctions so that we can take action on any fraudulent activity. If you see a listing that is against the rules, please flag the auction so one of our moderators can review it. You can also submit a support ticket so we can review it further.
Thanks,
Tom
Listia is nothing but scammers i listed and thw person who won emailed.me saying they were not paying the shipping this happing two more times after that same thing person won item and didnt want the. Item and wanted there credits back the. Stuip listia said i had two account when i only had one and my brother had one and they deleted my account with 25,000 credits. I have also won items and the people never sent the items
Hi. We're sorry to hear that a few of your experiences with listings haven't worked out. The majority of all listings and auctions end successfully. Hopefully you will continue to use Listia and have a better experiences as a Seller and Winner. If you ever need assistance, you can also always submit a support ticket.
I have been a Listia member for some years and it was fine until they went over too XNK this currency is very unstable and as of late on a downhill slide too 0 many a seller winds up loosing money because of the way XNK value go/s up and down the only thing that will save Listia now is if they go back too there old internal currency credits it was very stable
I had 68,880 my account got hacked and then i made another account 40,730 i turned my phone off for 8:00am to 6:15pm my accont got banned i lost my points
Yall can kiss my big half white and african american $#*!!
LISTIA IS A JOKE THE MODERATORS ARE RACIST SO TIRED OF BUYERS MISUNDERSTANDING MY AUCTIONS AND BIDDING THEN THEY DO A DISPUTE AND THEY REFUND THEIR CREDITS I USED TO LOVE LISTIA BUT NOW I HATE IT.
LISTIA RICHARD IS A JOKE AND NEED TO BE REMOVED AS A MODERATOR AND I WILL SEE THAT HE DOES! VERY UNFAIR TO GOOD SELLER LIKE JUST TIRED OF IT!
Hi Sharon. We are sorry that you feel this way, but all of our Admins view each auction dispute with no discrimination or bias whatsoever. When you go into a dispute, you are agreeing to the terms and decisions the Admin has placed. We're sorry that you are unhappy with your outcomes, but we hope your future transaction are much more successful.
I think Listia is Awesome. Of course let me say that I have lost a lot of bids. First off just because It says 2000 is the item doesn't mean that someone hasn't upped their bid to 2500 but It won't show that on the page or who outbid you until it ends. I don't sell many things on their I do a lot of watching videos and offers. I was able to get a bunch of nice things for people for gifts. I don't refer much people to listia. If you get banned than it's either one of two things someone got mad at you on Listia and flagged your account or 2 you may have a conflict with the Listia always send an email to Listia If so. Course I have always recieved the items I won but those that do not send out items should be banned indefinitely. I think It's important to talk to the winner of the auction they won from you, Get Verified, Facebook, phone, twitter. Give Listia a second chance. Friend me on their or fan me. I personally think being banned from others Auctions though is kind of like saying I don't like you and I don't want you to bid. You may get blocked If you comment on an auction saying you can find that same item elsewhere If you don't win. I have done it once and found out that the person banned me from her auctions. I was trying to be nice and she wanted a higher auction price so I guess she didn't want my credits.

Stole 44,000 credits after i tried to list a 100 dollar amazon gift card and was to mail it to the winner so he could open it for christmas and then he started demanding i send right away via email and when i told him no i was mailing via snailmail so he could get it like a christmas present and pysicaly open it a moderator sent me a abrubt message saying he gets his creds which is compleatly wrong and not to their policy. They break their own rules why should they be trusted to not break yours?
I started out REALLY liking this site. Seemed like a great place to get rid of things I no longer wanted. If you start your bidding low, 499, then you are pretty much guaranteed to sell your stuff. Problem with this is at 499 credits, that doesn't even come close to covering the cost to ship it. Well I was dealing with that, as then I would get something I wanted and not pay shipping. All was well and good. Now, you go on there, and your credits aren't worth as much as they were worth, and the price of the GIN are just ridiculously high. I understand when you can sell it, it is only worth what someone else is willing to pay, but come on now. Barbie with horse on Listia for 1,200,000 credits, current rate for credits is $1=15,300. That would make this set $78.43. Did my research, and Walmart sells this same horse and barbie for $40.38. Even with shipping and tax you are paying more to purchase on Listia. I say use the site but use caution when bidding/buying. I look for a good deal, and I am just not sure Listia is offering the good deal anymore for the buyer or the seller. 3 months ago, I would have given them a 4 or 5 star rating, now I generously gave them 3, even though how things are going I would say they won't get even that soon...
Hi Amy. Thanks for your review. We've been monitoring the price of credits very closely and are aware of the fluctuations in price. With the launch of our credit selling program, the credit rate is now largely determined by our credit sellers. Members choose the rate they wish to sell credits at, and that is the price we show to members who are buying credits. We understand that keeping a stable rate is important for the health of the marketplace and it is something we are actively working on. We hope that things get to that state soon and we appreciate your patience. Thank you.
Been with listia for just a little while but I check it everyday. And I sell some of my stuff on there to. I just need to find out how to enter promo codes.
Tip for consumers:
Just keep checking you will find something you like.
Hi Debbie S.,
We're happy to hear you love Listia! We do have a lot of great users with great items! As for promo codes, Listia actually does not have or use promo codes, so any that you have or "found", they are not from our site.
See you on the site!
Tom
Been an active Listia user for over a year. Even applied to be a mod believe it or not! Used to love the site, now I am starting to believe its a scam! Not only have I followed the rules, but I would actually go out of my way to make sure all my auctions got mailed out a day within their closing. I had 100% positive feedback, lots of badges, etc. I earned 98,000 credits by listing my artwork and other odds and ends. Got scammed out of my auction winnings several times but eventually gave up on trying to get it back. Even had tracking numbers. Listia just didn't care. I spend hundreds of dollars a month sending out my items - and yes, do so willingly as the credits I earn I bid on things for my first baby (like diaper codes, etc), or coins for my hubby's coin collection. Well today, I went to login as I do every day and saw a popup that my account was "suspended." For what? I submitted a support ticket. They replied with a generic response of following the terms of service. I triple checked with a fine tooth comb - did nothing against them. Kept submitting support tickets. Listia still hasn't given me an answer why my account is banned! Got tired of their customer service giving me the run around and files a BBB (Better Business Bureau) report. I totally feel ripped off as I have put so much time into surveys and listing items. The amount of money I have spent shipping items (or paying for items! - that I will NEVER get now) is outrageous. While I used to LOVE Listia... they are now on my crapper list. What a SCAM!
Hi J. M.,
We do not remove accounts unless there was a Terms of Service violation. If you got that response, then there would have been an explanation to specifically what was violated. We can look into things for you if you'd like. Please provide us with your username through sitejabber's messaging (since this is a personal matter) since you've stated that you did not get get the answer you were looking for through our support ticket system.
Sincerely,
Tom
So far, my biggest Complaint about Listia is that they claim you can "earn points" for completing surveys. This turns out to be a total scam! Every time I've done one of the surveys, I'll spend several minutes answering questions, and then a page comes up saying I didn't "qualify" for the survey. Seriously? Dude, I just filled out 5 pages of questions, I already Took the survey! Apparently they want you to believe it was a pre-survey. This way they get lots of useful data from you, without giving you any points. I'd understand if you had to answer 3 or 4 pre-screening questions to see if you qualify for the survey. But I answered Way to many questions for this to be legitimately considered pre-screening.
I'd suspect that nobody, or almost nobody, gets points from these surveys. Needless to say, I'm not going to bother taking any surveys anymore. But I'm sure that other people will fall for this a few times before they realize it's a scam. And that's how these survey companies keep the scam going! Some of them might end up being legit, but I don't want to waste my time on pointless (literally!) surveys.
Listia makes it look like your being redirected to an independent site when you take these surveys. But I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that Listia actually runs these "external" sites. Either way, these survey Scams make Listia appear pretty scammy themselves.
When i first got on listia it was fun --- and i loved it --- but now the way they been raising the credits every day or two -- it makes me sick -------- to begin with it was 1000 credits = $1---- as of now it is ******* credits = $1---- i was trying to save up 1 million credits to try to win a new computer ---- i got the credits saved up then realized -- i million credits was only worth $100.00 --- not the $ 1000. 00 it used to be ------------- i auction off a toy for ******* credits that = $25.00 when some one won it ---- i was saving my credits --- 2 weeks later the 25 dollars i was saving turned into only worth $10.00---please everyone on listia -----let boycott listia --- as of 9 - 1 - 2016 please have nothing up for auction --- what u got on auction now let it ride out and dont list anymore auctions until the credits goes back down to 1000 credits = $ 1 --- dont buy credits -- dont bid on an auction ---dont watch videos -- dont do any more survey ---- just check in every day to see if listia put the credits back down to 1000 = $ 1---------------- i will be doing all of the above but just me doing it will not change listia back it will --- take all of us on listia to do this --- so listia will hear us and listen to us ---- and put the credits back the way it was ------ thank to you all in advance for standing with me on this ------ ----
When sellers acquire over 500k+ credits they may get their accounts banned for no reason in order to keep them from cashing in those credits. For example:(https://www.facebook.com/notes/sandy-strong/listia-tips-best-practices-lessons-learned-experiences-and-reviews/**************)
Buying:
Flagged auctions don't get taken down and the auction browser is awful. People with no feedback can charge for shipping (no buyer protection). People are selling items for $ by setting excessive shipping costs and Listia couldn't care less.
Selling:
You get charged 10% of your auction's credits for listing GIN auction and 10% of your starting asking price whenever you list an item, irrelevant of whether it sells or not.
Mods are bullies which make up their own rules, which are not written in the terms of service.
Conclusion:
Only rarely useful, but set up for you to fail if you plan on becoming a large scale seller. If still interested, don't buy credits, sell gift-cards of the same value, they are worth over twice the credits.
PSA:
The guy that replies to the reviews has no idea what he is talking about and is only here to make Listia's actions seem justified notice he never offers to help or give reasons for what happened.
Tip for consumers:
If still interested, don't buy credits, sell gift-cards of the same value, they are worth over twice the credits.
Hi Tomas,
We are sorry you feel this way. We definitely do not remove accounts arbitrarily. If you feel like your account was removed with no substantiated reason, please submit a support ticket and let us know. We are always open to feedback and suggestions. As for auctions flagged, each and every auction is looked over carefully before they are removed. If they are in accordance with our rules, the auctions will remain on the site. You can always review our rules if you still aren't sure why an auction is still allowed. We appreciate your review and will continue to work hard to maintain a great site for our community.
I waited 7 full days for a seller to send my package off and watched the timer go all the way to zero. So, I requested a refund since nothing had been sent and it had been over the 7 days. In fact an hour after I sent the request in, it was already 8 days that passed. Then it stated on the auction that an agent will look at it and determine what to do. What ever. So Agent Listia Richard gets on and says it hasn't even been 7 days. Well. That was a big lie. Ive been in Listia for years, this happens all the time with buyers and sellers and I can definitely READ. So, I knew it had been over 7 days. And i told him about it right on the auction. I guess he didn't like that! But, when it comes to my being right and someone telling me I'm wrong, I will express how I feel and you will hear about it! So, then I noticed he wasn't going to give me my refund even though i was in the right. So, I decided to send in 2 separate support tickets and of course I would get Listia Richard to see them both. ( he evidently is the only agent there) LOL he immediately wrote solved on both and never did a dang thing to help. It goes to show that AGENT LISTIA RICHARD does not follow the Listia rules at all. I would never have somebody like that working for me! Low as you go! I'm glad there is a lot of different sites to auction items off on because I am looking into them now. Surely they are better than Listia! I'm not dealing with deceiving agents who can't abide by the rules that they set!
Hi Emmy,
I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience. Please let us know what your support ticket number was so we can review it. You can also submit a new support ticket here in case you can't find it: https://help.listia.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Thank you
At first I liked Listia, but as time goes on, I keeping bumping into problems Their site is currently down, and I have 14 items I am bidding on and could be losing now but can't do anything while site is down. The other day, pictures were down. You can buy/sell something if you can't see it. Its happening more and more often. I decided to try to list something, and after I did, a kind listian pointed out I wasn't verified to sell. It already had a bid, so I contacted Listing (twice) pleading with them to fix the ability to get verified. I did the phone method which said I only had one more chance? Put in correct code on the two chances it gave me... and it said it was wrong. Its 4 digits and I am not an idiot. I used the link your bank account by letting Listing charge $1.00,,,, I did it twice and I am STILL not verified. I took a $30.00 loss because only two people bid because the verification process is screwed up. I have done special offers to get points. The points don't show up and I am told there is no record I performed the task. Now I keep a receipt to show them.
I think this started out small and family like... but grew into a greedy profit making corporation, Watch, I'll probably get kicked off for some excuse when its really about my comments. Thats o. K., I am actively seeking a new place anyway.
Listia is the worst site ever, i have support tickets with no replies till 2 weeks and later my account gets banned containing ******* credits for no damn reason! Its a total scam. Listia is just sucking your investments for their own profits. When you list an auction, and it ends with lets say 100k credits, by the time you receive them they are valued at 90k, what i mean by that is the credits are devalued and LISTIA IS THE ONLY ONE BENEFITING FROM IT. A complete fraud which should be reported!
Hi,
I'm sorry you feel this way, but we do not ban accounts for no reason. You receive a notice as to why it was removed, most likely due to violating our terms of service. We are sorry for the decision, but to maintain the safety of the community, accounts are removed for such reasons. If you feel it was wrongly removed, you can always submit a support ticket, which we do respond to quite quickly and not 2 weeks later. Thank you for your review.
I dropped Listia pretty quick because after getting hosed on shipping for a stuffed purse auction I decided it just wasn't worth it. My husband is housebound though and collects coins so he has stayed with it a while longer. Listia's rules for listings are in a constant state of flux. He had extras of a dollar coin (he won the extras on Listia) so he listed the ones he didn't need to fill up his album. One auction was removed by Listia for being an 'illegal' auction. The other two (same coin, same mint and date) were left up. He has now received notice that his account is suspended because he listed 'illegal' coins that were the same as some he recently auctioned on Listia. I have noticed his account seems to be more carefully reviewed whenever Listia does a promotional credit offer. He also seems to have had increased scrutiny ever since he outbid another member for a coin. Listia has a robust tattletale system where members get badges for reporting 'illegal' auctions even though the rules on the site don't specify in detail what makes a coin 'illegal' or 'collectible', this information is only shared via private message/email from a moderator once you violate the rules and changes depending on the moderator. Most recently he was told only uncirculated coins are allowed never mind that you could probably find a hundred auctions right now for circulated coins on Listia. Listia's end game seems to be to get people to buy credits and then ban them for some supposed violation of the rules so they can keep the credits and the money. Save yourself a headache, if you trade coins go to Numista.
Tip for consumers:
Just don't use the site.
Listia is a marketplace for Free Stuff where you can give away stuff you don't need anymore and get stuff you want in return for free. It's fun, free and very easy to use.
Hi Katlyn,
If you haven't already, please submit a support ticket regarding your account being banned for being underage. We'd be happy to sort things out with you https://help.listia.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
