“SO FAR SO GOOD!”

Mike M.
11/18/21

Been active on Listia for about 2 months. Already have well over 100 positive reviews - mostly selling but some buying. Haven't had a problem so far *knocks on wood." Couple of times I had a question for support and within a couple hours, I had well thought out, informative and helpful responses. Only issue is that I have one buyer that doesn't confirm delivery within a day or two like everyone else. Not that they open disputes or anything, it just locks up your funds until 20 days after payment way made. That's only 1 buyer out of dozens. Seems like they have really tightened things up in a good way since switching back to Points from Ink. Fill out some surveys and it's like free money. Highly recommend giving it a shot.

“Watch for silver. 999 seller rip offs! Listia allows!”

jimmy d.
2/24/15

I bought a. 999 silver gram bar from what appeared to be a trusted seller but instead received a small silver grain bar about half the size of a gram. When I did all that listia asked me to do they said I didn't send pictures which I sent 3!. Regardless listia closed the account with no other options. The seller of course was happy to have my credits and not worry about making any other corrections as he can keep selling grains for grams and listia isn't incorporated enough like that of ebay, amazon or even etsy to manage a site such as this one. With all that said please do not misunderstand me there are many good sellers and buyers but listia is a great place for the con artist and listia will stand behind them.

**********i received a message from SiteJabber that I should have Listia open my case again and to let them know that I heard from SiteJabber and to ask if there was something that could. I did this and told Leslie at Listia that I wanted my money back for shipping but since I figure that is not going to happen then I would like to be able to leave negative feedback. I was told that although they couldn't MAKE the seller send my money back that could, and would strongly urge her to do that. She also offered me 20,000 credits for my trouble. I decided to take the credits and to see how things go by giving them another chance. I will just need to be more careful with the shipping charges.*********** I went on this site and won my first auction on February 27,2014. I never received my item, even though I paid the shipping charges of 4.99. I emailed the seller and she asked that I be patient because it was coming from China and could take 20 - 25 days. Then in late March my father-in-law passed away so my mind was elsewhere dealing with estate stuff and all and I finally thought to check with her as to why I had not received it, on May 7. Then on May 13 I finally hear back from her and she stated that it should take from 28-40 days and to please be patient. On 5/15 I emailed her back that I was tired of waiting and that I would expect my refund on or before may 19. On May 27 I emailed Listia about this and after several emails they gave me back my credits. But her account would only let me give positive or neutral feedback. I am unable to give any negative feedback. Listia told me that was because I waited until after 60 days to ask for a refund. But that they would deal with the seller. To which I asked how they were going to deal with her. She told me she could not tell me that due to privacy. But she was snippy and I'm sure that she could have told me how they were going to deal with her. I wasn't asking her name or where she lived. Because all emails go through Listia I don't even know her email. Anyway. I was waiting until I heard from Listia to get my friends in on it. My advice STAY AWAY!

Hi Motherhen83,
I understand you've received a refund of your Listia credits since that seller didn't ship you the item you won in the auction. Listia Assurance protects the winners in the rare cases like this and sorry to hear that it took so long while the seller kept delaying the delivery.

Should you have any other issues with this or another case, please make sure to contact our support team for additional help. Clock on Member Support at the footer of each page. Thanks!

I am a User on this site with over 2,000 positive feedback and a 100% rating. I list quality sports cards on the site & then buy either other sports cards or something my family needs.

In this one case - I listed about 60 sport cards (there policy states no more then 100 at a time). In this case - I was using the credits I won to purchase Best Buy $15 Gift Cards through Listia's Rewards store - to save enough to buy my 13 year old son a laptop for the upcoming school year. After the auctioning of the 60 sports cards - and using the credits to purchase 14 gift cards - I received an email from Listia stating my account was SUSPENDED from BIDDING for 14 days. - Of course I was highly upset, - I did nothing wrong - and was simply trying to get a Laptop for my son

I contacted Listia Customer Service through their Support System (email only - there is no way to contact via phone). After 3 days - I did not get an answer and it took another fellow member who is also a Top User on the page to contact them & say "What the heck are you doing - amongst other things" I then get an email back 5 minutes after he sends an email stating - they suspended me from Bidding because of the Unusual amount of listed auctions - and I needed to first SEND the auctions out and after 14 days BID again.

NOW - Ive been on this site for nearly 3 years - I HAVE NEVER had a problem - have sent out my items and through my feedback - I am praised for the items I ship - As per their own rules & regulations - I BROKE NONE, yet they took it upon themselves to let my auctions END - have 65,000 credits I can not spend to purchase the gift cards or anything at that - and THEY WONT EVEN ANSWER MY EMAILS. IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT A CUSTOMER OF ALMOST 3 YEARS WITH A 100% FEEDBACK RATING OF OVER 2,000 TRANSACTIONS?

I have been on Listia for only a few months, but I have given away almost 1000 items. Not recipes, etc., but real items, many of which are brand new. I have learned to make the shipping free. Otherwise, I get nasty comments from people. Higher point items, however, tend not to end with a winner, so that is disappointing. I have tried putting some of my more expensive items on the promoted and it doesn't really seem to help in the "Sale" of the auction. But I really enjoy doing Listia. I have enjoyed sending my items out, making a lot of new internet friends in the process. And the moderators are mostly really good (and often very patient with those of us who need an extra answer or two) about answering questions and getting back with me. I have had to learn a lot pretty fast and have made my fair share of mistakes. The mods are really good about answering questions most of the time. My only complaint is that I recently questioned the end of a dispute. I have no idea how the dispute ended. The moderator's answer was to go look at your credits. That might work if you have one or two items, but not when you have a lot going in and out. And they won't answer back, so for that I am sad. And, I guess, I made them mad because now my auctions are changed where I don't get the credits again until feedback or 19 days have gone by. Sigh. I have asked and no answer. I asked the mod who did the dispute for help on the resolution of a dispute but never got an answer. My advice is to have fun with it. (I have) But I hope Listia will find a way to help those of us who have a question beyond the first mod answer. I think a dispute's answer should be open and easy to read the result. (Not go and find the answer) And I don't know why I am not allowed to ask about how it turned out, especially when the answer is not written out. Or why if I did win then the buyer can leave neutral feedback. Or why my credits are being handled differently now. That makes me sad. Maybe an answer could be added through a different review. I don't know what the answer is. But, I KNOW Listia is overall a really fun thing to do and be a part of! The people who get your items, for the most part, are very friendly and grateful to get them. Try it out. There are many of us on Listia who are real and really offer some neat things.

Since I posted this earlier, my questions were all answered and taken care of. Thank you to Listia again! Love this site!

Tip for consumers:
Remember that it is a buyer beware world. Just use caution. AND have fun on Listia.

Hi Vicki,

First of all, I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying the site. Yes, as you and others have said, one just needs to be aware of what you're bidding on, just like in real life. That's because Listia is a user-to-user auction site so everyone's "mileage may vary" but with a little research, everyone can win some awesome things on there.

Please open up a support ticket and reference this post here so that we can tell you more specifics about the outcome of your dispute. You can also look in your credit activity page for details but we're happy to show you exactly about the outcome.

Thanks!

Well, Listia isn't what I thought it was - what's the point of watching and bidding if you can set a max bid and be outbid by someone who's not technically "watching" the auction? Had one open in my browser for 3 days and saw no activity until I placed a bid, then BAM. Upon bidding the "Current Bid" was 1000 meanwhile it was actually much more than that due to someone placing a "MAX bid". Stupid waste of time and patience and couldn't care less about what the community thinks of this or my actions to have knowledge of the proxy bidding before I tried bidding, Its just Listias way of hyping you up so that you buy credits which I refuse to do until I know first hand that this site is completely legitimate. Gotta love advertising. New users remember, one of life's biggest cliches "Nothing in life is free". I've emailed Listia requesting my account to be deleted and received an email stating that I should wait 2 business days for a reply, and there's a link to check the status of my request, I clicked it and was denied access to my request. So not only does the site suck because the bids aren't live, but also because I actually have to work with the site to remove my account after being suckered into putting all my personal info up. Should I receive phone calls or emails advertising or whatever from this point forward I'll be doing much more blasting than a mediocre review. Stick to Ebay where you don't have to "buy" credits in order to bid and don't get suckered in by the "Free Credits" crap unless you're fully prepared to go through the hassling process of buying credits, bidding, and repeating.

***EDIT***: I have now been through the emailing process of requesting my account deleted FOUR times and my account is still up, they claim they cannot access my account to delete it and keep asking me to log back in and send new requests and now this clown beneath me is talking to me like I'm technologically declined and I'm not about to work with you to get things done, bud. I'll check back in a few days or so. You and your site are not worth the time. I'll worry about it more when I receive any unwanted advertising. <n|m o_O m|n>

Tip for consumers:
Stick with Ebay, you need a credit card to purchase credits anyways and Listia won't accept a Visa Debit.
Listia simply has extra step from bidding with a credit card or paypall on Ebay by making you buy and bid with credits and its a total gimmick.
Unless you have good credit and like the idea and concept behind the site, again, stick with Ebay and real currency.

Hi Ian,

Thank you for your feedback. What you experienced is our proxy bidding system, which most users like and find useful. Most users do not want to spend their time constantly watching and refreshing the auction page to bid. Proxy bidding allows the user to bid the maximum amount of credits they are willing to spend to win an auction. We're sorry that you do not see the benefit of this feature. As for your account, if your account is still active and you'd still like it removed, please send me a private message with your username and I will have it removed for you.

Sincerely,
Jamie

I have been on listia now for 2yaers almost and at first it was an awesome and addicting site but as time has passed and LISTIA has grown it now has turned to all about money, the admin never answer their"support"tickets. The admin are the only ones to win the new stuff in the rewards store because the can give themselves as many credits as they want. The admin make extra accounts, and nothing can be done about it. And now the prices have doubled ever tripled in the rewards store since admin is the only ones with credits they get all the new stuff. One admin admitted to winning a tv from best buy, I put in a support ticket and it went unanswered. I'm spending all my credits and leaving that site and spreading to the worldwideweb to NOT use this scamming site.

03/03/15--; I must say in the past 3 months Listia has worked on many of the problems that the site was having. As far as the forementioned of the admin actions. I have not seen too much change, however the moderators are Jonny on the spot taking care of a negative situation. They respond to "support tickets" in the same "chain of actions, but it does seem that they are trying to boot the scammers off the site when one is presented to them. I like that they put the reward store/staff picks back to the auction style listings, versus the get it now style, it gives us that have a life beyond listia a fighting chance to get the new stuff from the stores. I can see the the admin is striving to put listia back to the way it was 2 1/2 years ago. A fun and addicting online site to get rid of old stuff and get someone else's old stuff. I have to bump my stars up to 2 specifically at the fact that they are taking comments made on review sites into consideration. Keep striving for making this back to the wonderful site that it was when I first joined. One thing if someone comes to you and tells you that an auction is an obviously fake auction, think about it, read what the person has to say and really study the fake auction, so as the scammers will get tired of having their fake auctions deleted.

Tip for consumers:
DONT USE IT. STOP WHILE YOUR AHEAD, YOU DONT NEED ANOTHER STRESSOR IN YOUR LIFE AND THATS WHAT LISTIA DOES. CAUSE STRESS

03/03/15 getting better and moving in the right direction. Not nearly as much of a stressor, and actually becoming fun again.

Rick K., Thank you for your feedback. We take responding to every ticket received very seriously. We handle them on a first in first serve basis, and we respond to most of them within one business day. If you ever feel you have not received an adequate response, you can always re-open or submit a new ticket. As for your perception on our Admins, our staff are forbidden (under threat of termination) to grant themselves any credits, in order to keep things fair for the community. They also abide by Listia rules and only possess on account on the site. In regards to our Rewards Store, prices are kept inline with the varying virtual economy's value of credits and real-world prices. I’m sorry that your recent sentiment of Listia has not been positive. We hope that you will continue to use our site and enjoy what the community has to offer.

Sincerely,
Tom

PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF YOU ARE READY TO BAN TOGETHER TO FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINST LISTIA.COM. THEY HAVE TECHNICALLY STOLEN FROM ME. I just opened a account paid for credits and they banned it saying i had a previous account which i did not and i just shipped out $200 worth of items to people and they are refusing to do anything about it. WILL BE POSTING THIS EVERY WHERE. I have a cousin who is a lawyer in california and will be contacting him. Would like to get as many people together on this as possible to ban together to take action against this company who is stealing and ripping us off. https://www.facebook.com/666mistress.darkstar666

This the email i sent them after making me lose $75 with no negative feedbacks, sold at least 15 other gift cards and had over 200 feedback.
"The listia assurance policy states if i sell something and have proof of sending it then the seller gets the credits. I paid $75 dollars for three gift cards, snt them and then the seller claims they didnt get it even though i have proof it was sent with a valid tracking number. I am very angry listia stole money from me! I did everything according to listia policies and broke no rules. You guys reversed the credits to the buyer thus stealing from me. This is your last chance to fix this problem before i take it to the next step. First i have taken screen shots of everything and will seek legal action if this is not fixed. I will also let the public know exactly what happened with listia not adhering to their own policies and assurance policy. I will go to every forum, blog, social media site(let me tell you i reach ALOT of people with all my sites. I will also make a youtube video with screen shots of your policy, assurance and emails, feedback history, and the story of how money was stolen from a seller with no negative feedback and who has auctioned many many gift cards with nothing but positive feedback. I will post this to my 3 youtube channels. I will also report listia to the local news channels to handle consumer complaints for webapges. With any luck you will be on tv and recieve calls and email from the media. You have one last chance to make this right. I broke no policy, had money stolen from me, got treated like a scammer and moderator rosie did not do her job accordnig to policy."

This user called me a "mutt" and "troll" for asking a simple question. I blocked, flagged and reported her. She had tons of negative feedback and neutral feedback and she is STILL allowed to be on the site. She has gotten away with it and scamming a lot of people and Listia is just okay with it. I have screenshots to prove how horrid this person is. WHY ISN'T SHE BANNED YET? ADDED (8/23/2016): I am also unable to flag bad listings from people who are blocked or have blocked me so she continues to list horribly and that's ok apparently
Also, expect to lose a lot of time and not gain credits. They give you surveys to do knowing they are going to disqualify you, yet you still have to answer 20+ pre-questions. They also put things like "register to receive your credits" and then you DO register and it goes into over 20 pages of ads and offers and then at the end has this silver, gold, and platinum offers that you HAVE to do to get your credits that all cost money and add more spam to your email. You have to pay shipping and handling for something out of that list to get your credits even though they already have your information and are going to spam you for the original offer, but not give you your credits. My email is so flooded it's not even funny... posting a screenshot... this is pretty much all from Listia's offers and even when I unsubscribe, they keep sending more mail.

I have to lower my score to a one as this rule has made me do so: "Digital Items
Starting today, all newly listed items with digital delivery will need to meet one of the two requirements below:
1.The item can be used or claimed, and upon use, no longer has value and cannot be reused
2.The item being listed is Bitcoin... We feel that these changes surrounding digital items will help our community continue to grow in the best way possible. Today were lucky to have members who list things they no longer need, as well as others who create their own handmade items or buy new items to give to others. Digital items that can be reproduced indefinitely, however, dont seem to fit as well into the type of community were trying to create." That whole quote is from Listia... so what you're saying is, I can't sell a skin I get on CS: GO because the person could resell it or there are more out there. Are you dense? Physical things can be resold too and they are! I buy Magic cards out of packs, that means they are not new. I cannot reproduce my CS: GO skins indefinitely... I worked hard for those!@!$@Q#$R&)(# ANGRY X-(

UPDATE 10/01/2016: Now they have sunk even lower. I was refunded by a seller because my item didn't come on time and them over a month later it got to me so I let him know and I wanted to repay the credits. In the end he ended up becoming extremely rude and leaving me neutral feedback AFTER I paid him mind you. Listia will do nothing about it mark my words. I've upped my complaints to the BBB and I'll let you know what happens.

Tip for consumers:
Don't do survey related or sample related things for credits. They never deliver and make you go through every ad possible. Their rules for digital items are ludicrous!!!! They just remove your stuff and don't tell you or give you a reason AND I have NEVER gotten credits for any of the mobile offers I have done even though I've gone through the trouble of downloading all that crap. A lot of their offer links don't work either and don't contact support..They NEVER help and have bots

I have been a member of Listia since November 2012, less than a year now, and have won many amazing auctions and sold my own for what they're worth. Only had one negative transaction between me and a lady who wanted nothing for the starting bid on a tote bag I liked, but she wanted a whopping 99,999 for GIN. On top of that, she wanted $9.98 to be EXACT for shipping. The current bid had reached 30 credits, and I won it with that. I did somewhat notice there was something very wrong with those numbers, not to mention she had taken a very dark pic of the item, but I was still new to Listia and naive. It was a Kurt Cobain Rolling Stone tote bag, and being the big fan I am, I just had to have it regardless of whether I could see it. Lol It looked alright in the darkness of the picture, actually. But anyway, I sent the shipping in the form of concealed cash, because I do not have Pay Pal at the moment (waiting for my Pay Pal card to come in the mail now), and sent $1 in taped up quarters so it would not be obvious I was sending change (I sent change, yes, but I she was the one who wanted 98 cents). Did not receive the item, and was rated neutral by the seller for sending quarters, and supposedly having something wrong with my verified address, which is a big fat lie. Others before her had had no problem shipping to me. She claimed tracking confirmed it had arrived at my house. Here it is, months later, and I receive the item. I now know why the picture was so dark, the paint is peeling on the tote like she washed it without turning it inside out. Not only that, but she had my address wrong on the envelope, with absolutely NO tracking. She was the one with the problem, and reading through the feedback she received others have said she lists fake auctions with shipping and then rips you off, so buyer beware. I feel like a loser falling for her scam, but now I know better. I have still been sending concealed cash to some Listian's who will accept it for shipping, and haven't had another problem like with her. She's Gypsy Fire Moon for those who are concerned. Other than that, I have had nothing but smooth transactions and great feedback. I do plan to continue doing business on Listia. I might add that I am also on Social Security and still am able to afford shipping and such. I've purchased credits a couple times with a credit card of a family member who I paid back, because I have no credit card. But now I am waiting for my prepaid Pay Pal card which I'm sure will make shopping on Listia a lot easier.

Simply put... they should be sued. They close accounts everyday and never give compensation for credits lost. When you get banned on ebay or amazon they hold you're money for a little bit but you get it in the end.

"Tom" is full of crap. Maybe if one or two people had issues with listia I would see how their just idiots... but when every single review(not counting those that are paid to leave reviews) is a horrible review you start to realize that there's something wrong with the site.

I used to sell all the time and buy best buy items from the reward store and simply return the item to best buy get the gift card and sell the gift card and make my profit. I spent about 1.5 million credits in the reward store one day. At the time that was about $1500 in items. Listia never sent the items(I'm guessing they didn't want to spend the money to buy everything and send it to me) so they returned my credits and suspended me for 2 weeks. In two weeks I did the same thing... spent about 1.5 million credits on about $1500 worth of items and never received them. I was pissed and wanted to leave negative feedback for every item but was afraid that they would ban me and I would lose the 5 million credits I had built up(about $5000 worth at the time). They then banned me from buying grin the reward store. I was later banned for good about 5 months later but thankfully I had spent the bulk of my credits.

"Tom" says there's no real value to credits but we aren't yay stupid. If there was no value then why didn't they sell items in the reward store for just one credit? Why did they switch the reward store from buy it now to auction style? Why do you guys have a price you buy credits? If there is no value you should just give them to me right? You're logic is flawed.

Another issue is they have no real verification system for its users. I've had several accounts with listia. All you need to do is use a fake name get a new email address and use a friend or family members address or get a po box. I don't get new accounts to scam anyone I just need them when listia bans me over stupid crap. I normally get several hundred positive feedback and then out of nowhere I get banned.

Listia is crap but I'm able to make money off of it so I still use them :)

I have been on Listia for a little over 2 years and I LOVE IT! The two things I agree with, #1 Inflation! It's pretty bad right now. With the additions of selling your points for cash and Listia Plus (I think it's called) the rate is out of whack. Give it a little time and it'll calm down. #2 The "professionals" or greedy a$$ sellers that list items WAYYYYY TO HIGH. It's sad, pathetic & the LAZY way to hustle, but nobody said you need to bid on their items, I just ignore them.

NOW, I'm going to call out all the people that are COMPLETELY WRONG and can't admit that THEY were the problem... Listia has a GREAT staff! When you're having a problem member support steps in. They are SO INCREDIBLY fair! I deal with them on a regular basis. Most of the time its great! Although, I'm not like these other IDIOTS ON HERE, I can admit when I Fu$k up! I have a big mouth and a tendency to tell people about themselves. I've gotten many warnings & suspended messaging, that I DESERVED! Im the perfect member besides running my mouth. 3500+ 100% positive feedback. They don't just punish people for nothing! These morons acted a HUGE fool in someway for their accounts to be banned. Scamming, thieving and/or being complete douchbags. I can promise you, 98% of those people running their mouth are guilty. Listia runs a tight ship, all you have to do is. Act like a decent person & follow the very easy rules and you'll have NO PROBLEMS!

On every auction page there is a "flag as inappropriate" link. If people just complain about fake items that's not much help to support. Hit that "FLAGGED link" and... TA DA It will be removed. Listia is a awesome community. I've made some amazing friends, found a new hobby, gotten TONS of fantastic stuff. This isn't the place to be if you're looking to get rich quick. Listia is a place to have fun, enjoy yourself and escape from the real world for a while. I suggest everyone try it out.

I have been with Listia since February 2010 so a long time! When I first learned about the site I thought the idea was genius. I still think it is. You offer your stuff up (used or new etc) to gain their "points" and when you have accumulated enough points you can use them to bid on things you want. It appears that they keep things afloat with ad revenue I presume and the team seems to work hard at trying to improve the site. There are always going to be people in this world that will try to scam others so remember the old adage. If it looks too good to be true it probably is. Check people's feedback and reliability before bidding. Are they listing a brand new iPhone with no feedback? Yeah maybe don't bid on that unless you like headaches. xD I believe I use the site for what it is meant to be used for. Listing used things and trading them in for small possibly used things in return. If you want some premium item like a brand new gadget, or ebay gift card or very useful items clearly being dropshipped from Amazon you're going to end up paying more than they are worth because people are trying to profit. Also if you are wondering why people list a good bit of useless or overpriced items it's because the site encourages creating 5 listings a day for 25 free points. 5 points is 1 cent so it's only 5 cents a day but hey some people list things like vinyl stickers for 99 points so I suppose in 4 days you could get a completely free item from creating listings that end and never sell. This brings me to the issue of inflation. All those free points being given out daily can cause some inflation. However it does seem like inflation has finally stabilized on the site and the people managing the site claim they combat inflation by using some of their revenue from ads to pay for the auctions they host like more Amazon gift cards. Also the points Listia gets from their auctions plus all their final value fees are used to payout all those free point incentives they give away for listing items and referring others. You can list items completely free without paying any final value fees if you start the auction at 99 points and offer free shipping. Most of the complaints I've seen about Listia seem to stem from deals gone wrong or people that don't understand that you can't shove lumpy stuff (bracelets, belly rings, fat seeds, a clump of fat paper punches all in one spot) in an envelope and expect normal first class letter service (sometimes it makes it through but many times it does not or gets badly mangled). This site is basically a big garage sale and you will see people listing both trash and treasure. I personally use it for small flat items like stickers, used postage stamps, craft supplies/scrapbooking paper and the handmade stuff is fun to look at. There really is so much stuff to bid on honestly if you know where to look. It's a fun way to pass the time. No cash is involved either so no taxes which is a nice headache free way to declutter. :D

Tip for consumers:
Live with a grateful heart and you'll find joy everywhere.

Products used:
Stickers, crafting items, Amazon gift cards

Listia is a very good idea in concept. It deals in points rather than dollars, allowing people to exchange all kinds of items for others, some of which cannot be sold for money, such as digital movie codes, which is primarily what I use it for. While I appreciate the thoughtfulness of the system and the quality of the website, I cannot rate Listia well because of how they have chosen to manipulate the economy they have created and really screw over long time members.

Below is a record of points that can be bought at Listia per dollar since early 2015. In a very brief span of time, this number has increased by over 1500%. That is great for new members who are just getting into the system but very bad for anyone who has been in it for a while. Take a look at the numbers below.

02/11/15 - 1000/$
07/23/15 - 2750/$
08/27/15 - 4000/$
11/21/15 - 5800/$
01/15/16 - 7500/$
08/20/16 - *******/$

What does this mean? Let's say I sold a movie for 1000 points on 2/11/15 when movies were generally going for 1000 points, or $1. If I immediately use those points to buy another movie also selling for $1, that's a nice even 1 for 1 trade. But what if I sat on those points until 8/20/26? Because new members at this point get ******* points now for only $1, sellers, who are still interested in getting $1 worth of points for their movies will have raised prices to match the exchange rate. This means if I had sold 17 movies 2 years before for $1 in points each at that time, I would now only be able to get 1 movie today for $1 in today's points for those 17. That's a HUGE loss for people who do not immediately spend their points.

In short, because Listia is steadily increasing the points that people can get per dollar, anyone who does not immediately spend their points is guaranteed to lose out, and fast. Their points are being devalued on a daily basis. Inflation is to be expected, but the rapidity at which Listia is doing this by playing with the exchange rate, is really dishonest.

That said, I still use Listia, and it is good for some purposes, but I am readily aware of how much I'm going to be losing over the next several months. Be sure you enter into dealings on there with this in mind.

UPDATE 5/14/2018
And just when I thought my savings were safe... Listia has just switched from a credit system to XNK, which in itself is a positive move. The problem is, they exchanged credits for XNK as if XNK was worth 14 cents. The actual market value is about 5 cents (https://walletinvestor.com/converter/ink-protocol/usd/1). What does this mean? I just lost two thirds of the value of my credits. Seriously Listia?

Listia has its usefulness. However, if you use it, EXPECT for them to find new ways to rob you of whatever you earn. This has just happened too many times to do expect anything else. Use at your own risk.

Hi Chalmers,

Thank you for your feedback. Listia does not have an actual credit-to-cash or cash-to-credit ratio as it is determined by the ever-changing dynamic marketplace and it will vary from from listing to listing. The "credit value" will continue to change, but it will not devalue your credits.

Sincerely,
Tom

Listia sided with a buyer and won't remove my wrongful neutral - I contacted the buyer the next day, Tuesday, June 4, after she won on Monday, June 3 asking for a verified shipping address. The buyer never gave me a verified shipping address. I contacted her the day before the last day, on Sunday, June 9 asking for a verified shipping address again and that if I didn't get one by midnight on Monday, June 10, I would keep the credits and re-list the item. On June 12th I contacted her that morning and told her that per Listia rules, I was keeping the credits and that I would be re-listing the item. I re-listed the item and someone else won with a GIN. Later that night, she sends me her verified shipping address and marks the item received. I am sending out the item to the winner of the re-listed auction since the first buyer neglected to send me her verified mailing address. This woman gave me a neutral and put that I gave her every excuse in the book for not sending. I gave her a neutral (since I couldnt file a dispute against the buyer) and wrote "how could I have made every excuse in the book when you didnt respond to ANY messages I sent you asking for your verified address? Per listia rules after 7 days i keep the credits and relist the ítem. You are wrong for giving me a neutral!" - I contacted Listia and they told me that the only way the neutral would change is if she filed a dispute. Since this was 6000 credits she lost, I figured she would. She didn't. She knows she is wrong and she is refusing to file a dispute. It is like Listia is allowing this woman to lie. She also gave someone else a negative because she sent a broken item out of spite. This woman needs to be taken off of Listia.

Listia customer service does not care about righting wrongs. If they would allow sellers to dispute buyers, none of this stuff would even happen. It is amazing how ebay sellers can file disputes against buyers, but we can't file disputes against listia buyers... its ashame!

By the way, I have flagged her name and blocked her. I had sent her a message on FB and she read it, but never filed a dispute. Her nic is palomacita71 - DON'T DEAL WITH THIS WOMAN! Block her from your auctions before she starts giving you trouble!

Listia was a good site, still can be if you are careful. But you have to be very careful. Always use tracking when shipping because there are a lot of buyers out there that are savvy enough to know that if you don't use tracking, a dispute will result in the buyers credits getting refunded. And they will fraudulently claim they never received your item.
For the first 8 months I was a member, it was great. The past 6 months have been terrible! Anytime a site offers anything "free" and you don't have to put much into it, people will hop on the bandwagon to abuse the system.
I've won things that I never received because the seller seemed to feel that they were entitled to more credits for the item, the usual story with this is they will say that the item was broken or they just won't send and ignore you.
As a buyer, of course, you have the "I never received the item" bull****. You will know this is a lie if you do not receive your item back, because if it was wrongly addressed most times the P. O. will return it to you saying it was undeliverable.
Anymore you have a lot of Minors using the site. And still yet you have women listing "Photos of me" that could be less than appropriate for a child should they win.
Listia is always changing it' rules on what can and cannot be listed. I recently flagged an auction for a hunting knife with a 10" blade ( rules stated blades can be no longer than 2") and a mod comes on and states that they are changing or looking into changing that rule so they will allow this auction to stay. Sooooo, what about the sellers that had their auctions pulled because the blades were more than 2"?
Listia is a gamble, you put your "stuff" out there, you pay to ship if you offer free shipping ( you get higher bids that way) but there are a million things that can go wrong and a lot of the users are just looking to scam people out of their stuff.
If you break a rule they will delete your account, and if you have invested time and you have credits you are SOL! I know a couple of people that's happened to.
If you want to use listia you must ship with tracking
YOu must check a seller's rating and READ their feedback. Just because they have NO negative feedback does not mean they are a good seller, look for the neutrals and see how many they have.
There are a lot of long time listia users who are now cashing in on their feedback ratings and listing high end items or giftcards with no intention of sending. They are going out and going out with a bang.
My husband and I loved listia but we've both left because of all the bad experiences we have had as of late.
