Poor Employee Training
November 18, 2018

Very disappointed in Lowes, Hanford, Ca. I Will limit my shopping there. 'Good News" is Lowes seems to have to more employees then Home Depot. 'Not so good news' is that half of them are of little help. Some seem to just walk around like Zombies. Others seem to be on some kind of a 'Walkathon'. If asked a question or you seeking assistance, they may stop for a very brief period only to give a quick vague answer, usually referring you to "ask some one else in that department." Then they resume their never ending 'walkathon'. Going to customer service was another indication of poor employee training. Usually 'manned' by females with attitudes, I felt most uncomfortable and will never seek CS again. One actually made an effort to face away. Maybe because she didn't like my face or my political T Shirt Logo?
Nonetheless, they should be trained to be respectful and courteous to ALL customers.
The young female who is CSA at lumber checkout, also hardly smiled, almost no eye contact at all, whose attitude was also borderline rude. Even if I am an old and ugly guy with a controversal T Shirt, I am a customer. I pay your salary via purchases. I spent $1500 this one visit alone.
To the other half of desireable employees, "keep up the good work!"
To the other half of the ' notso desireable' employees, "shape up or ship out!"
On second thought, "YOU 'NOTSOs' ARE ALL FIRED!" IF I was upper management

We recently purchased several appliances from Lowe's for a new house. The refrigerator we ordered didn't fit. We thought we needed counter depth but the sales associate assured us we didn't and wouldn't want that. Anyways we went back to the store to look at other refrigerators that would fit. We could find no one in the department to help us. So we asked for a manager who took a very long time to show up. Then he barely helped and walked away didn't even bother to close the sale . So we got a refund and went else where. Now for the dishwashers. We were to have a delivery on Mon. We called Lowe's Sunday afternoon because we hadn't heard when they would be delivered. Lowe's said they could not tell us when the delivery would be there until the next morning at 6amand could not give out the delivery company info, but we would get an automated call that evening from the delivery company with a time. Guess what we never got the call. So we called Lowe's next morning (got up at 6am)and they said we had to call the delivery company and gave us the number. Now remember the night before they said they couldn't give out that info. Turns out delivery will not come until 7-9 pm! The worst thing is no one at Lowe's even seems to care. They don't want to help or care if u come back. You also get told two different things and staff is lacking in training. We will never do business with them again! And I will make sure to tell everyone about there poor customer service and lackadaisical attitude.

So what I learned today is if you buy a fridge from Lowe's, there's a chance it could be delivered by Spirit Delivery (who they work with) and if it is I hope you don't need the water line taken off the old one or the doors to the old or new fridge taken off to fit in the door because they won't do that and they will give you a nightmare of a time! Definitely ask when you order that a Lowe's person be on the delivery because these people are the most unprofessional, ridiculous people I've ever dealt with! Idk who or where Spirit Delivery is based but Lowe's needs to rethink their contract, I very seriously considered not doing business with Lowe's ever again because of this. If it wasn't for the manager smoothing things out I would've demanded a refund and went elsewhere. Update:So instead of "dealing with me" East Baton Rouge Lowe's(where my fridge was ordered from apparently) refunded me and basically gave me the middle finger even though I had just got off the phone with the stores manager Rod that they were gonna ship it to the Gonzales store because Spirit Delivery was useless in moving my old fridge that Lowe's put in 5 years ago! I'm done, I'm never doing business with Lowe's again! If I could give them 0 stars I would!

Dont buy appliances
March 25, 2024

I wish I could say that you have done well. But I cannot. I worked for Lowes for 12 years, I ran the appliance department as well as the Delivery and receiving Departments. I have tried to buy appliances from Lowes twice now and both experiences have been so phenomenally terrible I am debating whether I will even enter a store again.
The first was a dryer, and two days of trying to get it delivered and installed. The third party delivery people not knowing the difference between a range cord and a dryer cord, refusal to stack the dryer as was specifically requested when the unit was purchased, and nearly causing a fire by not removing the plastic from inside the dryer, running it and leaving the house (in complete disarray). The stress of calling Lowes customer service, and the third party delivery was more than enough. I consigned myself to never again getting a delivery from the third party ever again.
I thought that maybe, just maybe, an installation would be better. Again I was wrong. A simple dishwasher. BUT again Lowes goes through a third party that does not care. I took the day off of work to wait for the install. We had two inches of snow and the install was cancelled. As they will not do installs on weekends, and I am not able to take another day off of work, I chose to take the easy road this time. I cancelled and refunded my purchase. I know full well that nothing on this earth will get Lowes to fix this because its the "Third Party". Well, it isn't. Its Lowes, and their conscious choice to abandon customer service and pass the buck to a third party.
Poor Policies. And what used to be an outstanding place to get an appliance is now the most infuriating place. For the sake of your future customer base I hope you change your policies back to those that actually demonstrate care for the customers who shop there. As for me, I will never buy another appliance from Lowes again.

HORRIBLE!
November 19, 2021

HORRIBLE! The way that the Sherman Lowe's treats their customers is disgusting. My parents waited a long time to replace the floors in their home. They understood that flooring is one of the most important and expensive upgrades/replacements that you can perform in a house. They did their research. They searched locally and even a little further away. They wanted to get the best combination of price, service, and execution for their new flooring. They decided to go with the Lowe's in Sherman (hindsight, right?).
They met with the flooring specialist, selected their flooring type and color, and scheduled their install. The installation was performed by a sub-contractor that works directly with Lowe's. The installation was okay, not great, not bad. However, when the contractor finished, they left a complete disaster for my parents to either live in or clean up themselves. I'm not talking about a little dust; I'm talking about a thick film of dirt and grout dust. This is not an easy fix. You cannot sweep it up and normal mopping does not work either. My mother, bless her heart, has even tried getting down on her hands and knees to scrub and it's ridiculously painstaking work that leaves her exhausted and in pain.
When they contacted Lowe's to try to get some resolution, they were ignored. When they finally got someone to return their calls and tried to get Lowe's to do the right thing, they were told that "it isn't our problem". How did it become ‘not their problem'? Lowe's is responsible for the work that their sub-contractors perform or don't perform. Now, my parents are currently sitting in a house that's dirty and they are walking on plastic in order to not walk in the mess that the Lowe's contractors left. I am beyond disgusted. Lowe's should be ashamed. I hope this review helps other people with their decision of who to have replace their floors. DO NOT USE LOWE'S. They forget about you after you pay and they are not interested in customer satisfaction.

Don't trust Lowes
March 9, 2023

When you go to the Lowe's website to order, you see in big letters "buy today pick up today." that is an absolute lie. I ordered some composite tiles for a new patio I'm having built. Lowes gave me a delivery date of two days after I ordered. I even took a day off from work so I could be home when it arrived. The shipment never came. I went online to track my order and come to find out it was being shipped from California and I'm in Maryland. I tracked my package every day and every time it was at a different location. First California, then Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania and finally Maryland. Once it got to Maryland it stayed at that location for five days. When my shipment finally arrived after two weeks, I was at work. I got a rude text from someone named James saying he is at my house with my delivery and he can't bring it in the house or break it down. The tiles were on a pallet and weighed 2000 pounds. He said he knocked on the door to see if I wanted him to leave it at the bottom of the front steps or in the alley in back of my house or in my parking spot on the street. He also said if he didn't hear from me in the next 10 minutes it'll be sitting in my parking spot on the street. I live in the city where there are multiple people walking and driving up and down the street. Anyone could have stopped and taken my building materials which cost me almost $2000. I had to call my contractor and thank God he was available, and leave work to rush home to protect my purchase. My contractor and his crew got my tiles safely to my backyard. I really like the tiles. They are exactly what I was hoping for, but the customer service and delivery experience was the worst I've ever had. I usually shop at Home Depot but Lowe's had a larger variety of patio tiles so I ordered from them. Lesson learned. I will never shop at Lowe's again. I have always had excellent customer service experiences with Home Depot and I apologize to them for going elsewhere. I went online to look at Lowe's reviews on sitejabber.com, and a large majority of them where 1 star with an average of 2.79 stars out of over 1400 reviews. Most of them were for terrible customer/delivery service. I wish I had checked the reviews before I ordered.

Needed a water heater to be delivered to my house. Delivery shows up after time given for delivery. Since there wasn't someone home we asked a neighbor to let the delivery man in with the heater. When I arrived I noticed something funky with the bottom of the box. Either the delivery man drove the dolly straight through the heater or a forklift did. But the bottom of the heater was destroyed. We called back to inform that the unit is unusable. They tell us we will have to wait for Monday. That the heater will have to be picked up. Wait for the credit or reimbursement. Then order a 2nd one. Or come out of pocket for the 2nd one and wait for the credit when they review the first one. That's BS! So Monday comes around and the pick up was set for early morning. They showed up at 12noon. No one home again. When I called to reschedule they tell me I'm calling the wrong store. I'm given the number to the store the item came from. Which wasn't the store I chose. And this store is in another state. So I call the correct store and asked to speak to a store manager. They tell me that the store manager is too busy to take the call. That they will call me back. It's been over a week. No call back. I called corporate and they took all my info. Told be that someone will be reaching out. It's been a week. Heater is still at my house. Had to pay someone with a pickup truck to help me buy a new one from Homedepot. That one is installed and no issues. Lowe's keeps dropping the ball. Good riddance.

Got Hustled At My Age
November 20, 2023

"Operating efficiently, ethically and responsibly" is Lowes joke to it's customers.

I started off with this because the experience of purchasing a washer from Lowes has me aware of the wrong direction you all Core Values are steadily taking.

I purchased a Whirlpool 2 in 1 Washer based off the Dept's personnel who I had to wait over an hour on. I set out to get the Samsung, but because of the length of time I had to wait, I entrusted he knew what he was speaking of.

The purchase of this washer went from 798 dollars to 900 dollars plus. This included the sale pitch of if I wanted them to deliver it and set it up, I had to purchase new accessories. I was never told that I had only 48 hours for a return, exchange, or refund. For if I was made aware, most definitely I would have washed something in attempting to try it out.

When the machine washes, it is loud! I gave up a 5 star washer on it's last leg for a 1 star as far quality. You can hear every stage of it washing. Why is it the Appliance Rep don't know this? Or do they?

For Lowes to take the stance of only 48 hr for appliance returns the business performance, quality, ethics, and sense of responbility (to include the employees and staff knowing their products and job description) has to at least be close to being dress right dress: and it's not.

The entire situation makes me feel like Lowes and it's employees hustled me out of my hard earned 1000 dollars... which is why as a whole, Lowes should at least compromise.

Customer Taken The Advantage Of

PS
Here is a screenshot of how Ramsey St Lowes treat customers on the phone. Ask to speak with a manager, she came to the phone 3 different times to return no more

I ordered a washer and dryer on May 24th with an estimated delivery date of June 10th. I waited home all day and did not schedule myself for work and the washer and dryer never showed. I called today to see when my stuff would be delivered, I waited for 45 minutes and was told they could not give me an exact day for delivery since things are on back order. When I asked why I did not receive an email about the item being on back order they told me they did not know why I was not sent an email. In addition, Lowes website still says that all the items are ordered are in stock, and they said they were in stock when I ordered. When I asked why their website did not match what they are telling me they blamed it on the vendors not giving them updates. Now I have to go to the laundry mat to wash my scrubs which I hate to do because I do not want to risk infecting other people since I work with patients who have covid 19

I understand how covid is effecting things especially since I am a nurse at a local hospital, however that is not an excuse to not contact me to let me know my item is on back order and will not be in on the expected date. I was planning on purchasing some other large items from the store like a shed since I just moved into my new home but now I know I can not order them from Lowes since I can not trust them to communicate with me about the status of my items.

Unfortunately, Lowe's does not care about their customers at all. They have rigid policies in place which apparently do not allow their poor front line leaders to make smart decisions to help retain and their keep customers satisfied. I can say this because I recently had an experience were I attempted to return 4 tension wire rolls I bought online with receipt back to the store, and not even get my money back but a store credit, but the store said "NO" because it had been 102 days, and their policy is 90 days. I wrote to their CEO Marvin Ellison to explain the situation, and ask them to reconsider their decision based on the facts the product was unused and the product type being returned (tension wire), and the fact I was not even asking for money back and just get a store credit. I did get a call back from corporate office from the office of the CEO, but the answer was the same "no". This to me clearly show the issue of not caring/ no empathy is not a reflection of the employees themselves, but the position of their executive leadership who apparently DOES NOT STRIVE TO RESOLVE CUSTOMER ISSUES AND RETAIN THEM as future customer. So the snake (employment team) follows its head (executive leadership). Because of this experience I personally will never give a cent of my hard earned money to Lowe's ever again, or at least until there is a change in corporate culture. I much rather give my money to anyone else, even if I have to drive or pay more for a similar product. And I hope others make the same decision and give their money to other companies that care about their customers.

Used item sent, no refund
September 21, 2022

We bought the dishwasher from Lowe's online. When it arrived I was surprised that it had water inside. When we went to install it we realized that the frame was mangled and the dishwasher was already used. That's when the nightmare started - we spent hours on the phone, waiting to be transferred from one "specialist" to another and none of them knew anything. They finally initiated the return and designated a day for dishwasher to be picked up. We confirmed that it would be left in our car port and they said a crew will pick it up without us having to be home. On pick up day I got a notification on my phone that the crew is arriving, yet nothing happened - that evening the dishwasher was still in the carport. Multiple calls later, (all with extremely long waiting times), we were told that a person must be present for them to pick up the item. So evidently the "specialist" earlier had no clue what she was talking about. A few days later we were home during the designated 4 hour (!) pick up window and the dishwasher finally left our yard. It's been 11 days since the dishwasher was returned and we still don't have a refund. Another call to customer service (with a 15 minute wait time telling us how important we are to Lowe's, of course) and another "specialist" finally tells me that the refund hasn't been initiated yet; someone will give me a call within 24 hrs and will instruct me on further steps in order for us to receive a refund! What a waste of time, insulting to the customer - they make you jump through hoops in order to get your money back after they sell you a used product as new! Never again I want to deal with Lowe's.

Today FedX delivered a very nice, solid decorative curtain rod. I checked the packing slip to confirm they shipped the correct product (48"-86"). Yup. Then, I started putting it up above the windows (2 26"-wide side by side). Got the two holding brackets up and was attempting to extend the rod to put it in the end brackets when one end of the rod unexpectedly came out of the other.
Uh-oh! I realized this rod was too short. Yet, the slip displayed what I ordered. Then, I looked at the display box it came in: 28"-48"! PROBLEM! Was on hold with Lowe's for an hour. Finally, I explained I had mail ordered the rod because I want to limit my virus risk (not good for an elderly with COPD) by not going out to the store, and that I had received the wrong product. I told her I took a photo of the packing slip next to the product box as proof. She wasn't able to help me, so I was told to wait for a call from someone else who would handle the matter. They should call in 2-10 days! WTH? This is unacceptable to me. This experience shows me Lowe's does not want to be responsible for their errors. We'll see if I ever get a call. Meanwhile, I don't have the rod I needed and can't afford to order another one now.
Shoulda coulda woulda... next time I'll order it from Amazon. In my experience, they correct their errors ASAP.

Trash customer service
January 19, 2022

Took literally all day to get in contact with customer service nobody knows a damn thing they all tell you something different I was told I can't track my washer order because it was ordered in store but I also ordered a dryer and I can track it just fine the color that was shipped was not the color that was ordered in store the receipt says these items will be delivered by 02/01 in store but the dryer from what I can see has already been delivered to store despite the estimation the only thing I was told about the washer by one customer service associate that there should definitely be a po number I was told by a different associate you can't track in store orders but if that's the truth why can I track my dryer that was ordered in store on the same receipt! In the end after explaining the situation on the phone I was treated like a jerk for wanting to know where my washer is wasted hours of life was told I was wrong given no solution to tracking and accomplished nothing but being treated like an $#*! and given the run around about something that clearly seems like a mistake on their end after paying $1900 for my appliances

Don't use them
July 7, 2020

My husband purchased a Samsung washing machine and paid for delivery and installation. Delivery was scheduled for July 3rd 8-12am. So they never showed on the 3rd and after multiple call where we could not get an answer, we had no choice but to wait until Monday. 3 days later. Monday my husband got in touch with them and they said it would be delivered between 8 and 12 that day. That didn't happen. Then they said 5-9pm. We got a call that they were on the way around 3; 30. Had to leave work early to meet them. When they show up they start to take the old one and the pedastool. I said please put the new one on the old pedastool. Well, they say they can't do that. Against policy. Ok I say, then just leave it on the floor and install. Now they say they can't use the existing hoses that are fine. To install they need to charge us for the new ones they have on hand. We say no. Just leave the machine and my husband will hook it up. My husband gets home and hooks it up. Just a couple of water hoses and power. As soon as he turns it on, water starts pouring out the bottom! We don't even know what to do from here. What a nightmare and we still can't do laundry. I'm assuming the return process will be even more painful and time consuming. Will never use them again and plan on posting reviews everywhere I can.
