This store have lots of needs, but due to great and comfortable design, it is easy to find wexactly you want
Lowe's has always been my go-to store for hardware and gardening. They stock a good deal of items that other stores do not have which have uses that go beyond their advertised use, for instance the concrete mixing trays which can be used for fish ponds, above ground gardens and miniature play grounds for turtles and small pets while keeping messes neatly in one place.
Their prices are comparable to other hardware and gardening stores and they carry a good variety from different brands so you have a choice as to what you want to use.
They often have year-end sales that will blow your socks off at how cheaply you can purchase plants, bulbs and seeds, many for over 80% off.
They even carry Yellow Wood products which are hard to find.
They have a good return policy if things do not work out as expected.
All the plants I have purchased there survived and thrived and the gardening equipment; shovels, pruners, string trimmers are in their fifth and sixth year or use or longer and still functioning like new.
The salespeople can be a bit annoying asking if you need help every time you turn the corner, but it is nice that they are there if you need them, though good luck if you want them there to cut a chain or make a key! Still, they tend to respond fairly quickly when you press the call button unless you press it repeatedly, then I think they come slower just out or principle.
The personnel are friendly and knowledgeable and usually older, so more dedicated and on-task and they make shopping fun by creating centralized shopping areas where you can browse.
Their indoor garden area has cute garden statues, wind chimes, planters and arrangements so they have a good option of gift giving ideas to brighten up the home and garden as well.
Check-out lines are rarely long and move quickly and you can order on-line and pick up at the store. It is rare to find anything that is not in stock.
Since this initial "surprise", I have checked other retail big box sellers and the same restrictions appear to be in effect. Accepting this limitation, buyers should be completely informed of this and can plan for the additional cost and do not open any connecting items.
However, I did not find this similar restriction with two local stores on delivery installation. It was strongly suggested to have new hoses, dryer power cord and non-plastic venting. Perhaps my situation was unique because I had recently replaced the various components from Lowes when remodeling the laundry room and to rebuy made no sense.
I went back to my local Lowes and found them willing to work with me. Again the issue is with the delivery/install process, outside service. Lowes gave me the needed 4" extender for the dryer and I declined the zero clearance venting. I went home installed the power cord, reversed the dryer door and inserted the vent. Unsure if a return call from the delivery/install would be made despite Lowes efforts.
Lowes again provided me a new set of hoses for the washer. Identical to the ones installed that was only 2 months old. A follow up call was made by another delivery/install team. They tried to hook up the washer, unsuccessfully. The previous washer was 19 years old, a Whirlpool and used an anti-siphon connection at the stand pipe. The replacement GE would not seal/connect at the standpipe. They recommended a straight replacement standpipe. In discussion they had no awareness of having a trap to prevent sewer gas from entering the home. It was obvious that their knowledge was very limited. Told thanks and terminated the visit. I called a local plumber who successfully addressed the standpipe hook up.
I am taking this opportunity to share my recent experience with the purchase of major appliances, washing machine and electric dryer from Lowe's. Reflecting on A Tale of Two Cities, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair."
Lowe's has a very extensive selection of major appliances, basically all the major brands and the pricing structure is either equal to prevailing market sector competitors or at a saving through a sale and/or promotion. A visit to my local store, Bensalem, PA provided us a comprehensive inventory for inspection and selection. The sales associate was knowledgeable and helpful in narrowing down based on our needs and criteria on technology. We were advised that the delivery would include installation through a 3rd party vendor and that Lowe's discounted appliance parts with the major appliance parts.
I advised that my washing machine hoses were bought at this store and was less than two months old. EASTMAN 2-Pack 6-ft L 3/4-in Hose Thread Inlet x 3/4-in Hose Thread Outlet Stainless Steel Washing Machine Connector (Model # 98506). There was no indication that this would be and subsequent install issue. I purchased a new Utilitech 3-Prong Gray Dryer Appliance Power Cord (Model # UTD100306) for the electric dryer and advised I have a zero clearance issue and am using a Lambro 24-in to 41-in Adjustable Periscope Dryer Vent (Model # L3006) previously purchased at this store and visual inspection indicates it is in perfect condition. Again I was not advised the 3rd party vendor would not install the electric dryer without the purchase of a new dryer vent.
The appliances were purchased on 5/30/2019 with delivery scheduled on 6/3/2019. Today has been a major consumer snafu with the delivery hassle, failure to install, unsuccessful telephone conversations with the 3rd party delivery service and a return trip back to the local store seeking a resolution, short of returning the appliances.
The delivery persons inspected the install location and immediately took exception with the dryer vent, despite inspection that it was clean in perfect working order. The next issue was with the relatively new stainless steel hoses. I even showed him the previous SS hoses sitting on my work bench. Not acceptable based on his instructions and contact with the delivery service office. He then indicated I needed another part, a Lambro 4-in Dia Aluminum Dryer Vent Extender (Model # L5003), because of the dryer offset on the back. I offered to drive over the local store and get the piece 10-15 minutes. Not acceptable because I wanted to use the existing dryer vent.
Recognizing, I was unable to reason with delivery an interim request was made to install the electrical wire and reverse the door panel from left to right: to right to left. I would go to Lowe's secure vent extender and complete the hook up. Again this was totally unacceptable to the 3rd party delivery service. Similarly I requested that they attach the drain hose to the washer and I would screw on the hoses. Again this was not acceptable. They started to "throw" the appliances back into the truck despite at least a dozen times my request to bring them into the house. Only after a major confrontation the appliances were brought into the house without installation.
This is a WARNING to any potential customers that are contemplating a major appliance purchase. I found Lowe's to have an excellent selection of products, knowledgeable sales associates, and very competitive pricing. But the delivery/install service is GROSSLY flawed. A review of the Internet reveals ongoing issues with Lowe's 3rd party service. The reality is that Lowe's has to find a new delivery/install service to remain viable in a competitive big box market place.
Potential buyers should be aware of Appliance Delivery, Installation and Haul Away and the restrictions imposed on the "free service" https :// www.lowes. Com/l/appliance-delivery-haulaway. Html? SearchTerm=appliance%20delivery
Common sense does not come into play, throwing away effective items, and incurring additional costs to satisfy the 3rd party delivery/installation insurable risk concerns. These add on cost is part of the purchase price when comparative shopping. Even more interesting is the 3rd party vendor's position the parts must be in an unopened packaging to be considered new.
How this is resolved remaining to be determined.
Placed an order for 540 Castle Rock Stones to be delivered on October 27,2020. I was told it would be shipped straight from the distributor to the job site in 2 weeks. 2 weeks passed with no stone. Was given a new date a week later. Still no stone. I was given a new date of December 6. Decided to cancel the order as the stone was needed for a job ASAP. The gentleman on the phone assured me it was cancelled. The stone was delivered despite it being canceled. The truck still DID NOT have all the stone. The driver was told to deliver it to my place of business and the driver said he knew where it was. The stone DID NOT ARRIVE. I have been back and forth trying to resolve this issue since December. The stone has not been delivered, we have no idea where it is as Lowe's has told me there aren't any pending deliveries. This issue has been escalated to the manager at Lowe's in Knightdale. After repeated attempts to contact him to get the issue resolved, I still haven't heard from him. I wouldn't order anything more complicated than a hammer from this place. Terrible customer service and terrible communication.
Just ain't the first time it's happened to me I was 2 days late bringing it back for the 90-day new policy that they have in play I was bringing back $15 worth of tile spacers and the guy says he can do it this is ridiculous I spent thousands of dollars in the store all the time and they're going to lose a good customer over $15 cuz this young man Eric says that's the rules I think they should really redo their policies because they're going to be losing a lot more customers the same thing with their shovels they say hassle-free guarantee the last time I bought a shovel back in here I had to go through three different people and then prove it to him on their website where it's a hassle proof guarantee see they don't even teach their managers to correct things not worth buying stuff from this company you're going to have to have a hassle me and my wife were looking for a refrigerator and a freezer wound up spending $2,500 at Costco's cuz at least I know I get the good good service there I said I wouldn't wouldn't spend my money there even if they did have a better deal my wife agrees with me wholeheartedly
Went to Lowe's Mesquite to return 2 items and the clerk by the name Anna C made assumptions of her own, such as "why did you rip off the sticker"? Well, I did that because it has my name on it.
I used two different credit cards and I wanted the credit to go to the right credit card, no more no less. She did not care if everything was ok or what was wrong with my purchase.
She BARK out loud that I have a bad attitude.
That CLERK should not patronize any customers, but that what she did with me.
I don't know if she got HER PILL before she come to work today or not.
Bottom line is, she should not patronize any customers with her BAD attitude is really bad for Lowe's keeping her at the customer desk.
That is one of many reasons why I drive to HOME DEPOT more that I can go to Lowe's.
I don't need to argue with any low level clerk, even if that clerk works p/t there@ Lowe's or not.
To that clerk, stay home and get your "PILL" before you go on to work, otherwise don't show up if you did not get your "FIX". LOL, LOL
Well, how shall I start? Lowe's did not want my business. It is simple as this. I wanted to buy a new fridge from them. I was willing to wait the unexplained waiting time of 20 days! The item is in stock - why cannot I get it sooner? No explanation! There is no way to contact anyone to find out! My patience was already running low when suddenly I received an email from Lowe's saying that the delivery for my ordered fridge would be delayed for four days after the promised day. What? Why? I was not able to find that out because nobody in customer service answered the phone. When I finally got someone on the phone from the store which was fulfilling my order, that person told me she was not working in the appliances department. Ok, I told myself, I have been waiting for 20 days, what other four days would change, right? My groceries were sitting on the porch, luckily the weather was freezing. But it was slowly getting on my nerves that I didn't have a working fridge. Right before the delivery day, again I got another email saying the delivery would be delayed for another week! Really? I could not believe my eyes! Why? And again- no explanation! What would you do in this case! The company obviously does not want my business. Ok! Fine with me! I can go to a different retailer to buy a new fridge. I had no other choice but to cancel my order with them. And after that I started to receive emails from Lowe's asking me how they could make my experience better and asking me why I canceled my order! It was not obvious for them! LOL! Advice: deliver the fridge on the promised day! Hopefully, someone from Lowe's will read this review and identify the issue with their logistics and correct it, because the company is going to lose a lot of money. But why should I care, right? They did not think it is urgent for me to have a new fridge. Why should I worry about them?
Date of experience: February 21,2023
Take a look at how they delivered my washer. Rescheduled a replacement delivery for a week later... they never showed! Had to reschedule again.
Do not buy your kitchen here. I would have given 0 stars if it were an option. The design was good professionally done and that's where it ended. Once they get your money you are forgotten. The install team did nothing. I became the project manager making all the calls coordinating the cabinet install company with the counter top company. They measured wrong so I get a call from Lowes that there was a up charge, mind you the only call I received in a month and for them wanting more money. I went in that night and paid the difference for the counter tops Lowes sat on it for nine days putting my countertops off for three more weeks. On top of that they forgot to order the scribe moulding which delayed the cabinets to be finished 3 weeks. What I have is a kitchen I've made 3 payments on and just cabinets screwed into the wall. Then I get a phone call from Lowes about a survey on how I like the kitchen not even knowing it's only half done. I go in to speak to install to have a manager call me still no call. It's like a 3 ring circus please do not use Lowes unless you like to do all the work yourself.

Lowes Worcester - Buyer Beware! First I tried purchasing appliances online with the delivery option. The transaction would not go through. I called the Worcester location and conducted the transaction. They tried charging me more than the online price. I refused to pay more. They honored the online price and the purchase went ahead. After purchasing a dishwasher, gas stove and refrigerator at Lowes, including old appliance take away. They never called me to let me know my appliances were in. I had to call to get a delivery date with a window of 8am to 8pm. I scheduled my contractor and plummer to come the day after delivery to complete the setup. I took the day off work. They confirmed the delivery the night before shortening the window from 9am to 1pm. I then confirmed with my contractor and plummer. No truck showed up on delivery day, so, I finally called at 1:20 pm to ask about my delivery. That is when I was informed that it would not be delivered. No one bothered to contact me. I was completely floored. If someone had bothered to let me know I could have gone to work and changed my day off. I will also need to reschedule with the contractor and plumber. I have no appliances working because they have been uninstalled for removal. The person on the phone said they would see what could be done to fix the situation and call me back. I am still waiting. I guess I am expected to take another day off. I have no idea when I can get the contractor and plummer back to my house for install. This is incredibly frustrating and very poor practice. I will not be purchasing anything, ever again from Lowes.
Lowes is UN fair and abusive to employees many of the employees that work at the store I work at have many years with lowes (I have more than 5 years with lowes) and TO AVOID PAYING SENIOR EMPLOYEES THERE FAIR SALARY THEY CUT ALL OUR HOURS TO JUST 12 HOURS A WEEK IN THE HOPE WE WILL QUIT BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT LIVE ON 12 HOURS A WEEK (2 WEEK PAY CHECK LESS THAN 300 DOLLARS) INSTEAD OF LAYING SOME OFF AND HAVING TO PAY UNEMPLOYMENT THEY MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LIVE AND FORCE YOU TO QUIT ALL THE TIME LOWES IS HARING MANY NEW EMPLOYEES SO THE HAVE THE HOURS AVAILABLE BUT THEY CHOOSE TO FORCE OUT OLD EMPLOYEES GOD FORBID WE GET SENIORITY. DO NOT WORK FOR LOWES THEY WILL STAB YOU IN THE BACK PS THEY MAKE YOU COVER 2 OR 3 DEPARTMENTS AND THEN REPRIMAND YOU FOR NOT DOING ALL THE DUTIES 3 PEOPLE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO AND MANAGEMENT IS A OVER WORKED NON EXISTENT JOKE as back ground note in the 5 years i have worked at lowes I have called in sick 2 times and been late to work only 1 time and management tells me I am a great employee then they treat me and others like crap!
Lowes delivery is awful i waited on a delivery for 12 hours and they never showed up
Come to find out, it was never on the truck
It is cheap flimsy not any wood the most horrible product I paid way too much for it and it was worthless
I've never had a bad experience with ordering from Lowes. Always on time, always what I ordered, always decent quality and easy!
DO NOT SHOP THE STORE ON UNIVERSITY IN EDINBURG, TX. Just tried Lowes curbside pickup. Don't bother! LOwes sent an email stating the order was ready. When I arrived I called the number to let the store employee know I had arrived - No Answer EVER! My wife and I waited for 45 minutes to one hour and no one ever came to the car to deliver our order. We went to the contractor pickup thinking maybe we needed to pick up there - NOPE! We went back to the parking spot. There was another lady waiting almost as long as we were. There were store employees milling around, staring at us like we were crazy to even think they were going to fill the order. I mean NO ONE bothered to help. They just didn't care. We finally gave up and went home. Once home I had an email from Lowes stating the order had been filled. As if they actually expected to be paid for nothing. My credit card company will hear about this! This is a scam store with service predicated on promising things to the customer that they NEVER deliver on. DO NOT SHOP THE STORE ON UNIVERSITY IN EDINBURG, TX.
Actually, we have had several bad experiences with the Lowes Atlanta Edgewood customer service. The one last night takes the cake and made me come out and post reviews. Last weekend we purchased patio furniture to be delivered. I was told they would email me my receipt and I would receive and email about delivery. After 3 days, received nothing. Called store at 2pm thinking they should not be busy. Immediately put on hold. Waited 20 minutes and then called back. Immediately put on hold, waited 25 minutes. Called back again and was on hold for 30 minutes this time. At dinner discussed with my spouse and we decided to drive all the way there to find out about our order. I decided to call while on our way. Actually, got to talk to a person. She took my info and put me on hold. We arrived 18.5 mins later. No customers were in line. Customer service rep was just standing there looking dumb. The phone was constantly bleeping. They provided terrible customer service on purpose. This isn't the only time we have had issues. We will now drive several miles further to the Home Depot. DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY ACTUALLY HATE THEIR CUSTOMERS AND PROVIDE TERRIBLE SERVICE ON PURPOSE!
After a year of working with Lowe's to correct their mistakes it's no surprise they are not taking any responsibility even at the corporate level. We ordered a door with installation in February of 2022 From Lowe's on Royal Pine Drive in Colorado Springs, CO. The door did not arrive as ordered. Nobody would talk to me. They simply emailed and said they would reorder it and expedite it. It took even longer and was still wrong (same issue as the first time). Again Nobody would talk to me to correct the issue. Because of the length of time we did not have time left to get a new door or go with someone else before winter. I was told by the installation department that I could dispute the order and get the cost of the door back but I had to install it first. I was skeptical but didn't have a choice since I needed a door before winter. I got it installed and after that nobody would talk to me. I submitted the dispute. I was told the store manager would make a decision. He would not make a decision. It was escalated to regional. Nothing happened. I was told it could go to the installation supervisor and they would make a decision. What they didn't tell me is he was limited to a 20% discount. Omitting the truth is also lying. I did not accept the offer since I was told we could get the amount of the door refunded. I opened a case with the BBB. They passed it to Lowe's corporate and closed the case. Lowe's corporate only offered a 30% discount and said take it or leave it and you can't say anything about about them or their service. I will never step foot in that store again and I will never order professional services from any Lowe's ever again. My goal is to get this out to the rest of the consumers because this is their policy. Install the product first then dispute it. After that you do not have any leverage.
I have had several bad experiences with the Camden, Delaware location. The most recent involved an order I placed on July 7,2021. I received a confirmation email and a follow-up ready for pick-up email. When I arrived at the store, I was told that the order had been canceled. I drove 16 miles to get to the store. Why didn't I get a notification that the order was canceled? Their website still shows that the order is ready for pick-up. However, the store clerk told me that it was out of stock. This is no way to run a business. You just lost another customer.
Answer: They aren't a s cam but their incompetency will make you pay extra for shopping with them
Answer: Same here and Lowes is no help! All they tell me is there is a delay, sorry
Answer: The price will be less but you will overpay with your time
Answer: If you contract with Lowe's, Lowe's is the general contractor. You signed the contract with Lowe's, not with his subcontracted retailer or installer. Lowe's will try to push the responsibility downstream and require you to take it up with him, but in the end, Lowe's is responsible.
Lowe's has a rating of 1.6 stars from 1,376 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Lowe's most frequently mention customer service, home depot and next day. Lowe's ranks 3180th among Home Improvement sites.
