Match has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,207 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Match most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and fake profiles problems. Match ranks 652nd among Dating sites.
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.
Awful company. They dont refund your charge even a day after signing up. Please people stay away. Try plenty of fish or tinder, both free and 10x user bases so far more people to meet. Match is a joke
Tip for consumers:
Stay away go to tinder or plenty of fish. Ripoff city here

A rip off. If you have a complaint you wait an hour and they save to change your preferences which does no good. The women I was able to see lived well over 100 miles away. I had two personal lady friends on here and they never even GOT my message! Others do 't exist or quit months ago. Just a totally ripoff.

Like Eharmony, and Facebook Dating, Match.com does not vet their profiles. They do no background checks or verification. Consequently, I went through four years of wasted, frustrating and pissing off experiences dealing with liars and thieves. As a former felony prosecutor, I am an excellent criminal investigator. So I detect catfishers and shut them down. All the same, I don't know why these scumbags feel the need to mess with Americans. But they messed with the wrong dued. I finally did meet the girl who will probably be my last best wife. She is young enough to have a couple kids and very beautiful which is amazing given that I am 57 and bald.
Tip for consumers:
Be cautious. If the person you chat with seems to be a non-English speaker or speaks broken English, they are probably a criminal. If they call you "handsom" "beautiful" or any of these, they are probably catfishers. If they say that thier parents are dead, that they live with an uncle or aunt, they are probably a fraud. And avoid long distance relationships. Never send money to anyone who you have not met. Never pay for airline tickets until you verify who you are dealing with.

I paid for a 6 month subscription but they locked me out after 3 months and NEVER RESPONDED to any of my emails. Then they took $103.00 out of my account without permission, warning, or notification. They are liars and thieves and should be sued out of existence. I've done a domain address search and there are several names beginning with "match" followed by words such as "robbed us". Since I already have a paypal account I'm thinking about building a site where for one dollar people could post their stories, that way it wouldn't be a financial burden for me to maintain. I wish I knew how to start a class action suit. They've grown beyond blatant about ripping people off. I truly think they think they are above the law.

In the past i had decent experiences with this site, but lately not so much. Supposedly a 27 year old woman with light brown hair who also enjoyed the performing had chose me. So I ran a search on two separate occasions and I was pretty much able to narrow down my potential love interest. I could also tell because she had been online during the timeframe.
I thought she was pretty hot and interesting. But then when I tried again using the same criteria I couldn't find her. Obviously, Match figured out what I was doing which tells me it was probably a fake profile. I don't see why people sign up for this service without knowing at least something about the people who view their site. Plus it's ridiculously expensive

Joning Match.com was no better than lighting a match to your money! They do a horrible job of "matching you" and their matches aside... a lot of people utilizing this site are for the most part - people who have not set standards for themselves. I set a radius of 30 miles for men I would be interested in meeting and set an age range from 60-65. I was wasting my time reading emails etc, from people across the country and age ranging from 40-81. So after 2 weeks I decided this was not for me... there are NO REFUNDS... a rude customer service rambled off citing the paragraph of the "terms of agreement". So I'm stuck on this God-awful website until my 3 month subscription runs out. Save your money. Match.com is a total rip-off and misrepresents itself in it's advertising of "finding you the perfect match".

I've been on Match.com for 2.5 months. I have had two dates. Not bad. The reason that I have to give them only 3 stars is the following: 1. They seriously need to refine their filtering methods. I've been "matched" with women for whom I am way too old, way too short, (and sometimes both) and with women who want a man of a specific faith of which I am not a member. There have been other criteria that have been off too. I just sometimes think I'm doing too much work. I'm on the verge of going back to e-harmony. With eharmony I went through 500 profiles in about six months (give or take) and I only went on a date with one woman... and I married her. We were a good match when we met.;-)
Tip for consumers:
Get the three or six month membership and judge for yourself. I think eharmony's methods are better.

BEWARE... This company is awful. Ripping customers off after cancelling account, credit card is still charged. Tried to get refund, it was like speaking to a broken record. Rep kept telling although you canceled your account, you didn't opt out of automatic renewal. Frankly I don't even recall signing up for automatic renewal because it's my practice not to do so in general with any company. What a scam!

Two years ago I joined Match.com and was contacted by a scammer named Carlos Hernandez. I was scammed out of my entire life savings. If this person contacts you don't fall for it. He's all around the United States. His photos are fake and he is relentless in getting money wired to South Africa. Just a warning to members of Match.com. Match.com does not screen members on their site. Its a hunting ground for scammers.

I have been on match for approximately 2 1/2 months and NOT ONE person contacted me! I have reached out to several men like they say and no one gets back to you, I am far from bad looking, and yet not one person contacted me. Something isn't right with this picture. I keep clicking off the ones I don't want to see on my page, and yet, they keep sending me the same people over and over. When I contacted them, I was told they could not do anything regarding a refund and that I had to stick it out. They did stop my automatic renewal. I will NEVER use this site again or recommend Match to anyone!

Match.com does auto-charge people without notice AND then if you contest the charge, and lose, they will freeze your account for the duration of your membership. So not only do you get charged, but you also don't get to use the service that you didn't want but paid for! This company deserves to be shut down.
Date of experience: June 24, 2017
It's not worth it. False advertising. I NVR gave them my money(thank god) don't sign up at all because as a free member its pointless. You can't even email ppl back nor will you get your matches you asked for. They kept changing my headline. Scammers.

After long questionaire was sent matches that were opposite of. Women looked like hags. Signed up for $20 month trial and was charged full 6 months immediatly. Called next day to cancel and told no refunds. Total scam site. Don't sign up. Ads are total lies. When you call you will talk to Indian Robot just reads back no refund. Must get rich keeping money from giving no refunds and supplying no service. Fake woman from escort sites and file photos. Should be locked up
Date of experience: July 18, 2017
I was on this site for at least 2 stints of a 6 month membership, so a year or more. I had dates with maybe 2-5 guys during that time. Not many attractive guys and forget it if you want to use the match app on your phone. It will be buffering for daaayyyysss. I've been on several online dating sites and this is probably my least favorite. Based on what they charge, you should have a much better experience than what they provide. I would suggest Bumble, Tinder, Ok Cupid, or even POF.
Date of experience: March 22, 2016
Most of the men who contacted me acted like catfishers. It was easy for me to tell they were scammers because they told me I have a beautiful smile. I never smile in a photograph. At my age, scammers think they can con their way into our lives and steal valuable things. Not this gal. Maybe this site works for younger women, but if you are over 40 BEWARE!
Tip for consumers:
The free sites are no different, but at least you won't lose your money.

I wanted to check out Match after a few years of hibernating during Covid. I had always heard the site was better than most and to always go for a paying one instead of the free dating apps. I guess because you get what you pay for. NOT. Now hear me out, I'm an attractive 60 something woman with flattering recent photos to boot. But, in my past, I typically don't attract the super hot dudes. I'm just not your typical curvy, large breasted female with a killer bod. I don't like to ski, hang glide or surf and I certainly am not a master chef. But I'm arty and interesting and a fashion person. Think Chanel on speed. Well, anyhow, before I signed up officially I joined for free and perfected my profile over the course of a few days. I noticed I had 68 views in less than 3 days and 9 likes. Also had a few messages I could not view until upgraded to a package. And then, mysteriously, I had two hunks apparently match with me. I could not view past their photo briefly, and could message them, but not receive a reply unless I paid for a subscription. These guys looked too groomed, too good looking and too suspect. Were they paid and planted to match with us desperate ladies looking for love? I'm truly thinking such is the case after reading some of these reviews. So, good thing I did not cave and pay a small fortune to only be disappointed that my prince was really a frog. I will have better luck at the Home Depot or Trader Joes in the frozen section or even the dog park. Save your money folks.

One of the 3 worst dating sites: match, ourtime, chemistry. This site is more for younger people - religious, conservative and not too bright. I am 63 years old, liberal, nonreligious, and educated. A waste of time for me. I tried to cancel and get my money back, but they refused. They did, however, delete my account, but send me email stating I have 24 new matches, yet I can't logon.
Tip for consumers:
If you are young, religious, conservative, this is the place for you. Liberals

I have now been a customer on Match.com for about six months now and I have to say, it's been a blast. My initial feeling about the site and now completely changed. I now think it is THE best dating site I've tried. If you are honestly looking for a real relationship with a woman then this is the site to be on. Unlike other dating sites Honesty is the key to success on Match. It's worth paying the subscription fee for the first month, they will always give you a special offer to stay with them, either 50% off or buy 1 month get 2 free. I have now found a woman through Match and she is a good match for me. After filling out my honest profile, Match connected with women with similar likes and dislikes and you take it from there. You honestly get what you pay for. The free sites are like mucky mags, OK for a quick release but always messy.

I was told by several people they had met nice people via dating apps. I've been divorced for a few years and decided to try Match.com. I've been on this site for about six months now. I'm relatively pretty, well-educated, interesting and have sent likes to hundreds of men, but never hear back from most of them. It's not been a very good experience. Many of the people who've been allowed to contact me have been scammers, not really who they say they are. Other times people I've liked and given my phone number have been removed because they need to pay more money to the company for an anonymous number and can't contact me. I'm supposedly a Premier Member, but even though I've paid a lot of money and extra money for special likes, it's not resulted in any decent matches. They encourage buying "boosts, gifts, being able to see who read your messages, who can see you, etc. As a Premier Member, shouldn't all this have been included in my initial membership? Not a good way to meet people, and sometimes I've felt sad and not very lovable, but I have to remind myself that most of the men don't even seem me or my messages unless they're willing to pay extra for everything! Don't use Match!

I have had two 3 month subscriptions recently with 2 months off in between approximately. During the second stint I barely ever got anyone who was interested in me, but now that the subscription is up I am getting at least tw notifications a week of people who are interested in me. Coincidence? I really don't think so. Not worth the money, my advise is try eleswhere if you really want to find a match.

Absolute waste of time! I'm an attractive mature woman and I was constantly getting messages from very young men or lived 100miles away or would message for a while then disappear and appear again weeks later or arrange a date and cancel that happened more than once! Also Match suggest messaging first tried that a few times no replies. If I wanted an active sex life I would of had no problems!
The likes I got were mostly the same faces over and over again that I'd already dismissed.
So I will remain single

The design and interface is quite good. The problem is not the company who owns Match.com but rather the userbase. I got 6 months for $53.00 via coupons so I can say it is at least cheap. What is often cheap or free will cost you in wasted time. Over the last several months, I received ZERO messages. Also got ZERO replies on initiating contacts. Honestly, one should just stick with free services which are often more effective. Tinder works pretty well for initiating blind dates and costs $10 to use. OkCupid and PoF are free.

I joined and was paying monthly for a year. Met no one. Then when I received my most recent credit card bill, they charged me $215. When I called to ask why, they told me that when I signed my contract I agreed to an automatic one-year renewal for the full cost of the year at one time. Of course, I had no idea and never would have joined if I knew. I asked them to cancel my subscription and refund my money. They did cancel my subscription, but the person just kept telling me over and over that the money is NON-REFUNDABLE. This is a terrible, deceptive and fundamentally dishonest way to do business and an unconscionable way to treat customers. Don't do business with them! You will end up unhappy and ripped off like so many others.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site. Don't join. You will get ripped off, and in the end you'll regret ever hearing about Match.com. They are fundamentally dishonest and unscrupulous.

This a review about match.com dating site: I posted a review on their website and surprisingly it didn't appear. The WORST dating site ever; all they want is money money money! I wish I had read reviews before I joined because I would have saved £30. However I took advice after the fact and cancelled any chance of automatic renewal of a subscription. If you do not check your account you will be set up for this. Even when I went through process of cancelling it took ages due to stupid messages... PLEASE do mot be taken in by this site; I have emailed supposedly matched people and others who have supposedly put me as favourites to get nothing back. It's a con, there is the odd one who like me has also been scammed and all I will do now until subscription runs out is to tell them to use a proper dating site such as the telegraph!

I made the mistake of paying for a subscription.
There are a lot of women flirting with me only to find out they want money or to help with a Nigerian bank account.
I have met one real person and she was nice but, not a match.
The filter process puts me with women who are way too young or don't want a guy who is not in shape.
I have gotten roughly 50+ winks and flirts and all were bogus withing about 2 months.
The one i did meet was because i emailed her and she didn't look like a hot model.
The number of fake profiles makes me think Match.com is doing it to attract more people.
Tip for consumers:
Do not subscribe ounless you go the cheapest price for a month or two.
Beware of all the bogus profiles.
