Match has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,207 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Match most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and fake profiles problems. Match ranks 652nd among Dating sites.
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.
Never have any luck on match.com except from a person who led me on for a month & then tried to scam me. Sent me beautiful fake pics of someone else. I complained & match removed profile & said they would investigate. More lies from match.com!

I would like to start out this review by stating that I have not used match.com for almost 14 years. With that being said, when I was using it it was a very good dating site. I met my wife on match.com almost 15 years ago. So as you can see, if you are looking for dates or marriage, it is a good site to go to.

Match.com itself isnt bad and user friendly Etc. But i had an issue with subscription payments and the supervisor I spoke with to try to resolve it was not willing to understand at all impolite and very rude. And He put the phone down on me like an idiot.
It was disgusting customer service from an international supposedly 'reputable' website where you though would expect more. It was shocking to be honest.

Been on the site paid my subscription and all I had is " so and so viewed your profile" then nothing... It's a scam if these people were for real then you would get people contacting you not just pictures of people who probably havnt signed up... Make sure you cancel your renewal date for payment otherwise you will be billed again... Best find a site with real genuine people on it...

Match offers a lot of people to contact while they plunder your bank account by automatically renewing your subscriptions. I got married but it wasn't because of Match. On a fluke I went to a Caribbean Psychics fair where a woman named Marlene gave me specific and detailed info that led to my now 9 year marriage that gets better every year. Watch your wallet with match.

I started an account and used it for three months, and made the mistake of getting a three month subscription and a phone anonymizing service -- in the very first hour, two people contacted me with the exact same life story of doing nursing in Kenya while pretending that they were living in the US.
I called in the next day to say that I wanted to cancel these services and downgrade it to a trial one month. The person at the site refused to do so and proclaimed that I would not be given any money back even if I had no intention of using the service.

Match does not actually match you. They give you slightly more dealbreakers than apps like Hinge then disregard them anyway. I have been bombarded with messages from the same guys over and over who do not remotely match what I stated I am looking for since Match does not take No for an answer for matches or payments. Check all the boxes when you cancel your account or they may just charge your credit card for another 6 months without your permission! That's a year of a terrible service and no results. Do not let them fool you on a free account that you have a lot of potential matches, because the likelihood that any actually match what you are looking for are slim to none.
Tip for consumers:
Move on to a better option such as Hinge

It is a typical dating site in design and function.
The kicker is their customer service, renewal function, and their cancellation fee.
Their customer service will kick you to an FAQ page, and even if you attempt to contact them, they will kick you back an automated message to point you to the same FAQ page. I am pretty sure this continues to loop.
It is an expensive mistake on my part, so unless you wish to watch a few hundred bucks burn, then avoid like the plague
Tip for consumers:
Don't waste time on dating sites. Success stories exists, but the plethora of information points to failure from its initial design to modern day practices. You'll find someone better in real life, through friends, and activities, than through any dating service.

So my friend who is single told me she saw my husband on this site. I then created a fake account for myself and well there he was saying he was single, lying about his age and basically his entire life. I reported it to match telling them this was my husband and real info. So the decided to ban me for being married but left his account intact. I went on match again this time with my friend, and we found he had 2 accounts on there not just the 1. So we proceeded to report this information to match, They still did not ban either of his accounts. So they can keep his fake accounts up, cause he is not going to be my husband for much longer. This is a very dishonest dating site with a lot of fake accounts and liars. Buyer beware.

If these web sites for dating are so eager to say you will find love then back it up. As I dont think anyone should have to pay to find love ex specially when you say there are people in the area we live and it turns out there hundreds of miles away. People are getting sick of putting there money out there with no success. You you believe so highly in your dating site then why not let a person try it for 2 weeks to see what is really on there before taking their money? Each city would be better off just getting a singles group together and do things as a group and if you connect with someone thats great but at least you would not be obligated of spending any money and being disappointed as singles we wouldnt be alone and could still go and have fun with other singles!

The concept of Match is great. But here's the problem: for the short time I was a paid member on the site, I sent messages to potential matches based on their profile. Very few ever responded. Now it could be that I'm a real dud, but I don't think that's it. Match maintains profiles on people like me who haven't been paid members for months or years. When active paid members attempt to contact me via email, the only way I can respond is to pay for a membership. Isn't this false advertising when people like me are not active members but Match is representing me as a paid, available match?

My cc company stopped my card from being used as there was a visa alert on it. When I phoned my cc company they told me it was match.com and the money hadn't been paid. New card on the way, I think trading standards needs to investigate this attempted theft. If they had of taken my money I would have sued there chief executive through civil court as no one is above the law. Who knows?

I have been a match.com member for the last 6 months, but received very little interest in my profile... until I cancelled! Now, all of the sudden I am receiving emails almost every single day. My profile shouldn't even be available since I am no longer a member but match has sent me at least one-sometimes more-email for the last 17 out of 20 days. Bogus, rip off company.
Tip for consumers:
Buyer beware-as soon as you cancel your subscription they will start sending you new 'likes', emails', 'winks', from prospective mates just to bait and hook you back in. This happened to me on 2 different occasions but I know better now. Just trying to for warn folks. I am surprised there aren't more complaints on here about this practice....I just got 2 more today (and I am not even a member!)

I met my wife on match 10 years ago. Tried to make new account for wife's friend in china. They overcharged and refused any refund. Will get my money back form my c card. So dissapointed in what match has become. Now I know why match is not available in china anymore

I signed up without knowing the charges and that this a big fat lie more like a disgusting scam for the most vulnerable people I strongly advise everyone to report this site so that will be shut down for good I tried to contact and get my money back but no one answered my request after I was on the site for 1/2 hour I don't understand why Google engorged all the bad reviews so far and still allow these scammers to continue robbing innocent people of our city I'm going to dispute the charges with my bank and see if I can get my money back however I couldn't even unsubscribe my account which tells me that these people are the biggest thieves I have ever seen online I hope that I can report this site to BBB and stop them from stealing from people please do not use this site at all.
Tip for consumers:
If a company is not registered with apple there is some sort of scam happening I’m sure about that now someone should stop these people.

Match is a horrendous dating site, it has never been good in all honesty. I have used this one for a couple of months recently and more so in the past. It has always had a buy to do anything model which is what has made it one of the worst dating sites there is. For all of this, it is still filled to the brim with scammers and people that are way too far away from you, there is hardly anyone on it.
To do anything you have to pay money, and even then this website is horrible, so a little tip to anyone thinking about this site steer clear of it and try another.
Tip for consumers:
Do not ever use this site

I joined Match to find my soulmate when I saw match advertisement online showing dream castle of finding your true love. But I found loads of time pass / flirts men or divorced or separated men and Army(retired men) or old UNCLE types of my dad's age started sending messages and chat requests by calling me baby & sweetheart. And All sort of flirting, vulgar & cheap messages like am on some cheap chat or dating site with shameless men around. Many wanted to waste time on dating or chatting nonsense all the time. Most of the men I found here had no Respect for Women and many men here those are separated or divorced men with kids want a women to take care of their kids like a maid. I told same to the site but no response.
I was looking for a single/ unmarried man who knows a respect of a woman and who's also looking for a soul mate like me. I realised my mistake of joining Match.com & I deleted my account there after.

Match.com is awful! I've been in a happy relationship for over a year and a half, I originally signed up for a 3 month trial in April 2016, and have been charged without my knowledge for almost TWO YEARS! I canceled my subscription soon after my 3 month trial and OF COURSE they have no record of this.
Also, they don't send emails to let you know you're on auto-renewal! So customers have no way of knowing they're still being charged! It's absolutely ridiculous to not send an email every time a charge is run.
After realizing all of this, the only thing they could offer me was a $29 refund for the current subscription period I'm on.
Expect to lose money. I've spend over $600 on this stupid site that I haven't used for years.

After reading so many negative reviews, I was sure that I had been kicked off the Match dating site when my account was shut down. But, a few days later I received a message from customer service explaining that my account had been hacked and someone was using it to send out messages to other members so the staff canceled my membership. They told me to go ahead and sign in and my profile will be activated. They advised me to change my passwords for Match.com and for my private email, which I did. Then customer service gave me a one week credit for my subscription.

The premiere dating website - I think this is probably the best dating site out there, purely because it has such a large number of people to sort through. I also like the quality of the people on the site. Most are very real people and not just looking to have fun. These are people who are really looking for a relationship and it is great that you can screen them ahead of time. I will admit that there were a number of people who didn't look quite like their photo, but it wasn't that far off. I have tried dating on CL, and usually it ended up badly. Lots of flakes on CL. But I have always been rather impressed by the match.com people. Definitely worth signing up for their 6 month deal. Guys, my 2 cents is to just put down the higher income bracket, I initially put down a lower amount of money and found the girls would more likely go out with me if I just put down the higher bracket. And, hey, someday I'll make that much...

Match keeps automatically charging the original credit card, so it does not check with the user before making the charges to see if the user still wants to keep the account. I was automatically charged, and after cancelling the subscription, I apparently renewed the service by going back to the same account one year later. I had to cancel the subscription a second time. The Match.com daters are okay for casual dating, but the vast majority are not looking for serious relationships. They are not looking for hookups either, but they are often uncomfortable meeting another person via online dating. I met guys who came up with a myriad of excuses to avoid seriously dating me (or anyone else).

I joined match on a month by month payment scheme. I cancelled my payment using the exact method advertised online and they still took charged me. I contacted them via email and phone several times and I was told there was nothing they could do. This is a massive scam and I know this happens on a regular basis. I would not recommend match to anyone.

A big majority of the users are fake. You would think they would have some type of filter to prevent this from happening. They charged me even though I have a 72 hour free. I tried to cancel it after 24 hours and they still charged my card.

I don't think I've ever written a review of a product or service until now, and not for good reasons. Match is the biggest scam I can think of and it's shameful that it is raking in so much revenue. They hook you on sneaky terms and refuse to refund for things like unannounced auto-renewals. In my case, I had met someone and there was no activity on my account for half a year. Upon seeing a charge on my bank statement, I called the same day to refund the charge. But they wouldn't do it. After vehemently challenging this nonsense, the customer rep reluctantly mentioned that I was eligible for a $7 refund. This business does everything to take your money and does nothing to serve its customers. Oh, and the profiles on Match suck, too.

Hello! Please be aware of this dating website Match. They are full of scammers and will only take your money. Thanks to my stars I was able to recover my funds back from them, they stole from me over 40,000 USD from my bitcoin wallet on Coinbase and won't return my messages and calls. I had to follow through with a recommendation from a close friend of mine about Datrek Recovery that was of great assistance to get my money back from these online fraudsters.
Tip for consumers:
Many thanks to Datrek Recovery Company who helped me pursue my claim and money back.
Please stay away from those on Match.com
