“I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service.”

Cemile M.

I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!

“Match and OkCupid”

Paul W.
11/27/24

Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.

1. Full of fake profiles. Only 5% may be real.
2. Full of scammers wanting your information to steal from you.
3. Full of liars, deceivers, cheaters.
4. Full of "add ons" to get you to pay more, and more, and more!
5. Full of gold-diggers and cougars. Full of selfish women.
6. Full of misinformation, fraud, fakes, and scammers.
7. Poor service. No phone number to call about complaints.

Tip for consumers:
Do not join !! Do not waste your money.. The FTC should shut
this dating site down. It is all fake.

I signed up with Match for a trial period for 3 months. I stopped using it a month before the trial was over. I checked my bank account on the fourth month and found they had automatically charged me another $80! When I called they told me the most they could refund me was $29.01. The lady said that they were only able to refund me back one month and I would have to keep the match membership for another month. Yet when I asked why I wasn't receiving a refund closer to $40, since I'm apparently being charged $40 a month, she told me they are only authorized to refund back $29.01. I then asked to speak to a supervisor/manager and she refused to transfer me even though she admitted there was a manger on the floor. I'm going to assume there are many more customers out there that have experienced this same issue... Its so frustrating!

My photo was not approved. I was in a black belt magazine and I have a picture of myself hitting a target. It is a beautiful picture and they said it was too violent to post. I wanted that picture up! There is absolutely nothing violent about that picture

I noticed several emails from men on match in a short period of time... 1 hour. Then realized someone was writing back to these guys pretending to be me. My profile was hacked just two weeks into signing up for a 3 month membership by someone i did not know. I hid my profile, apologized to the men who were contacted by the person who hacked into my account. I was mortified. I contacted match and was told they could not do anything for me and the emails that were sent from my acct were spam... WTF? And they refused to refund my money. Save your money. It's an awful site. The same guys are on pof and pof is free.

Please do not go on a paid membership here even if it is cheap and they give you 50% discount. I wanted to cancel my membership on Day 3 but they were not ready to refund the money. Every representative had a different rule as in what/how many days I should spend to get a refund. And also the crowd/matches are terrible. I would say just go to a bar! Sit there and hunt. You have better luck than going on this website. I am appalled that it even exists. THEY ARE IN THE BUSINESS TO SCAM PEOPLE!

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT BUY MEMBERSHIP! They never return money even after day 1

I signed up on 12/16 for 3 months and got charged $84.89 as a lump sum. I canceled on 12/17th because the site is overwhelmed with commercials, pop ups and deceiving advertisements which make it difficult to browse the site. On top of that, my mailbox is filled with hundreds of emails from fake profiles and men asking me to send them money and questionable requests. I asked for a refund and i'm being told i cannot get a refund or any type of credit. This is very disappointing and match.com is a scam and a trap. I never heard that a company refuses to grant refund when the service paid for is not delivered. Their marketing campaign is great however, the service is not delivered and the quality of their service is questionable.

Match and a eharmony are the worst dating sites possible. There is nothing good about them. Not user friendly. Notifications say "new views" or "new conections" with numbers supposedly indicating the number of views. Click on it a zillion times and nothing changes. The numbers just stay the same or ocassionall increase by between one and three that have absolutely nothing to do with your search criteria. And e harmony doesn't even let you search. They again show you "matches" having nothing to do with all the time you spend filling out the form. They are both scams designed to keep you single and paying more money. You will be infinitely better off with a free site like okcupid or plenty of fish.

I signed up for the buy 6 months get 6 months free deal, wish I didn't sign up at all, I must have liked and messaged 70 people and only got one brief response. Got a couple of winks but then when I messaged them I got no response. Most of the profiles are people who aren't paying memebers and can't message you this is apparent because the site offers you the ability to "let" them message you for 3 dollars a person. I don't know what I was thinking!

Buyer beware with this site, It is full of Nigerian scammers who post pictures of guys who knows where they got them from. I just busted one when he made the stupid mistake of sending a "recent Picture" from an email address that led to a nigerian. And he was suppossed to be Italian! When question about the address his answer I forgot I was log on under my work email". His texts were coming from sight you sign up you get a local number by the zipcode you want and text for free from your computer! But sadly a lot of women fall for it. I am too curious in life for that! Stay away I have a friend who had fallen for it and got scammed.

The selection of men is terrible. I made certain to shut off autorenew but was still charged twice my original amount! When I tried calling for a refund, it took three attempts to finally get partial resolution. The first agent I spoke with was completely rude and hung up on me because I wouldn't bow down to her every whim. Then, after my second call, the best the supervisor could do for me if refund $67 out of $120 for something I never authorized. They are thieves and coincidentally billed me 1 hour after Christmas at 1 AM. I deactivated my account by 5 AM that day and that's the best they could do? Unbelievable.

They offer you a guarantee if you don't find someone but then they say you don't meet the criteria and charge you a renewal fee. I changed my setting so my membership wouldn't auto-renew but they said I didn't and auto-renewed anyway, then they wouldn't refund my money. I've gone on lots of dates through OKCupid but only two out of a year and half with Match!

I joined and sent out emails to well over 100 women over a 6 month period. Maybe 2-3 actually responded. The big problem is they allow people to create profiles without subscribing, so the majority of people I was emailing probably weren't subscribed so they couldn't read my message or respond. There's no way of knowing if they are subscribed or not, so its a crap shoot. Match offered me a deal saying that if I didn't meet anyone within that 6 months, my next 6 months would be free. That was a huge lie. They charged me again, and said I didn't meet the requirements for the free 6 months. This is a huge scam.

I tried match a few different times and never had any luck. Well I decided to try again and I have not gotten one email at all, and when I like and email any of the matches they send me each day I NEVER get a response, all I see is that they read it. There has been proof that most of the profiles are fake and not real people. It is ridiculous what they are doing. I have emailed CS a bunch of times to complain but have yet to get a response. Also don't bother complaining on their facebook page because that is full of people that are wicked desperate and they will comment on your complaint telling you to contact them and they are looking for serious love! DON'T DO MATCH not worth the time or money!

I joined with a link to a 3 day trial. By the second day I had already been contacted by 5 fake profiles. I tried to end the trial and found out that MATCH. COM, had redirected my sign up and I had purchased an actual membership without my knowledge. No refunds, no one cares if you are scammed. STAY AWAY, use a different dating site.

The matches in Match aren't really helpful! Just very disappointed and frustrated with the experiences on Match.com. Watch for their policy on the Auto Renewal. If you forgot to make sure the auto renewal is off and once you got auto renewed, they can't refund you the full amount and you'd be charged for over $50 dollars for a month if you cancelled after the auto renewal... It's just frustrating with the whole experience using Match.com except you do can talk to representatives for real costumer services.

NoStringsAttaxhed.com --I cant believe another site ranked NoStringsAttached.com in the top three sites. The free membership is nothing more than you giving them your info to boost their active member numbers. Heres the meat and potatoes, you cant send or answer messages, you cant view member profiles (to see when they were last active) you cant view member photos, you cant see who viewed your profile! WTF!?! This site has more rules than daycare! Save your money and head over to Gleeden.com which is my next review!

Their customer service is terrible. Half of them don't speak English and half of them say please and thank you a hundred times and never actually answer your question. When you tell them your issues with their site they answer you have only 5 pictures why don't you try adding 21 more. When you ask for a refund they answer we will turn the auto renew off. Moron the auto renew shouldn't even be on!

A huge waste of time! About 30% to 50% of the profiles that are posted on Match are not active. They want you to think that there are substantially more people on the site than there really are. Also, there a numerous fraudulent profiles and Match does vertually nothing to weed these out. Overall, a BIG waste of time and money!

This company is an absolute scam. If you value your money, do not utilize this service. I, among many others, was charged the auto renewal fee of 119 equaling 171 Canadian dollars. I have barely used this service because of the fake profiles and scammers. I was charged on December 30th, did not receive an email to notify me of this (as this is their policy in order to swindle it by you). I received my VISA statement January 6h with this charge.
I called hoping for some help as I lost my job earlier this year and can't pay the fee. I was told that I could have refunded the day before or after the charge. Without the email. How am I supposed to know? They were rude, and in compassionate. They are down to the bottom dollar and don't care about the customer.
Please do yourself a favour and do the research from this thread alone. You will be swindled out of your money through auto renewals and charged even after you cancel
