Match has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,207 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Match most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and fake profiles problems. Match ranks 652nd among Dating sites.
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.
PLEASE DO NOT JOIN THIS DATING SITE. I joined and paid by $77 plus, however after realizing that I was being asked constantly to update to read email responses, I realized I had been taken. I am a senior on a fixed income and the enrollment too ALL OF MY SAVINGS. After several requests for a refund, a 'manager' called me back. He was totally unsympathetic and had no compassion or understanding of my situation. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM my friends. Try a free site like PLENTY OF FISH. Namaste.

Men who are married, divorced with one foot in their previous marriage and not really available - you are asking for a broken heart if you sign up for this

When trying to join match.com dating site, the email I use for everything brought back a message that it could not be used to register on their site.

Signed up, Next day tried to log in, email and password were correct, after 2 attempts was locked out and got message to call customer service. Severe technical problems or worse, just a way to get your information and sell it. Safety is impossible when the site is so messed up. Doug
Tip for consumers:
Read the negative reviews in particular, it could save you a lot of grief.

I joined in November time and, at first, it all seemed reasonably fun and decent for the money paid. I was getting a decent amount of 'views' and made contact with a couple of women who replied back. This suited me as I didn't want or expect women to be messaging me all over the place.
I arranged a date with one girl I spoke to and it went well but I don't think anything will be happening again. I got a couple of mobile numbers but nothing ever came of those either. This doesn't sound altogether negative; however, all of this happened within a month or so of first joining. Since then, it's been dead. Now, I don't bombard women with messages but I've not had ONE response for around two months. I know not everybody has full registration and can only view and respond to certain things but honestly, for the amount it costs not to have ANY communication back is just a bit of a joke.
As other people have said of themselves, I'm not a 64 year old bloke with no teeth and sever asthma. I'm mid-20's and fairly good looking and I'm on there as I work up to 60 hours a week so struggle to meet women,
It was good for the first month or so but the novelty soon wears off. Now I just go on there and it's pretty demoralising. Another thing that annoys me is that the only way I do get views is if I view them first! Where am I coming up on the searches? I'm pretty sure that people in their mid to late twenties must take up a higher percentage of the users than other age groups.
Tom.

My review is similar to those below. I had not been using Match for months, and knew my subscription was expiring sometime in Dec. BUT I had heard from others disasters that I had to turn off auto-renew as to not get charged without my approval first. WELL, that is what I thought anyways! I STILL got charged $130+ even though I went on the site and officially cancelled the whole account THE SAME DAY! Then saw 2 days later that the charge still went through on my card. So i had to call, and they absolutely refused to refund, even though SAME DAY CANCELLATION! They have no real regard for their customers, it is just about the bottom line. I mean, I have NEVER used a site/ product or bought something that if returned the EXACT SAME DAY could not be refunded! Completely ridiculous! Terrible customer relations. Do not use, unless you like wasting money.

I signed up for service and they billed my cc for 3 months. I NEVER HAD ACCESS to the site because of a technical glitch on their end that they conceded. They still would not refund my $51 after several attempts. Forced to dispute with credit card company. ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

I've tested date.com, fitnessingles.com eHarmony.com, cupid.com and Match.com. While not having much success finding the right one yet, I feel match.com makes dating less daungting then any of the other sites. The best thing of match.com is the sheer number of singles using it. The network counts!
Bottomline: match.com is probably the best dating site out there.

I was a member of the site, Match.com. On the 22nd of October, i made a payment and was happily using the site. On the 25th of October, I couldn't log in anymore and was advised to contact Customer Care.
Customer Care informed me that I have violated the Terms and Conditions listed on their website and due to the "nature of the violation", they would not communicate with me anymore. All without giving me an explanation and offering a refund. I have since sent emails to follow up to ensure that I get my refund back. Still awaiting their response.
I am outraged as I went through the Terms and Conditions and felt that I have not violated them in anyway. By refusing to provide me an explanation, I am considering that Match.com has terminated my account on an uninformed basis, denying me of my right to paid services. Prior to the termination, I even received emails that my updated profile and pictures were approved. I am especially enraged by their dismissive attitude.

First they charged me 67.00 x2 for 3month subscription. It should have been only 67.00 for 3months. YOU CANNOT
TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE EVAN IF ITS. MON- FRIDAY.
THEY GIVE an option to chat which is super frustrating. I asked forca refund of 67.00 so they canceled my account without my permission. I cannot access app but they have 67.00 of my money now. Chatting about AN ERROR IS NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. The communication is extremely poor. And they lack of what concerns you gets twisted by the the direct communicato through texting
I have never seen such a confusing over something that is simply. Don't waste your energy sign up unless you have time to waste for the poor communication about your account subscription. -10

Holy cow, this online dating site is godly awful. Stay away from it ladies. The options of good or even decent looking men are 1 out of 10, if even that! Total crap options.

I signed up for Match.com with their 6 month guarantee. After 6 months they kept charging my credit card. After calling them multiple times, they told me that I should have gone under my account settings & adjusted their default settings within a certain timeframe even though my status stated Guarantee. JUST CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY TO REMOVE THE CHARGES, THEN TRY THE BUMBLE DATING SITE BECAUSE IT IS JUST AS GOOD IN MY OPINION, & IT IS FREE.

I convinced my friend to sign up with match.com 3 weeks ago. I paid for her subscription in an effort to get her started. Over the past 3 weeks we've sat down together to look through profiles etc. They are all fake profiles. They use the same language in the text, some are insulting and some just plain make your skin crawl. I helped her respond to the couple that seemed real, much to our surprise, once she responded, their profiles disappeared. I called match.com and asked for a refund (I had paid for a 6-month subscription). I spoke to a supervisor, Kevin F. (who refused to provide his last name), who apparently was only capable of repeating that match.com does not provide refunds. He didn't try to defend the site or apologize for our negative experience. He also claimed there was no one above him to speak to. I asked him why they don't stand behind their product or care about their customers and guess what he said... yes, he said "we do not offer refunds". There you go, save your money and do not join this site.

You might think you're only paying for one month BECAUSE IT CLEARLY ASKS IF YOU WANT ONE, 3 OR 6, but they will still keep charging you! I unknowingly paid for 2 extra months, did not use their site once after the first month, but they refuse to give me a refund! Pretty sure if I wanted 3 months I WOULD HAVE CLICKED THE 3 MONTH OPTION. Absolute bastards, please, try ANY OTHER SERVICE!

Match.com is a hub for scammers. Match.com is the reason I lost $1.2 million. They match me with a scammer named Frank Mason. Match.com did not give me any tips or warning of scam. I thought that since they are charging money they would screen their members. Match.com sent me tips and warnings after all my money was taken from me. They do not want to take any responsibility. I contacted them many times and no response. I contacted lawyers and no one would fight Match.com. I guess I am just a little person trying to fight big company for justice. My local law enforcement investigated my case they said that my money was sent somewhere in Ghana via Bitcoins. I am living paycheck to paycheck because of Match.com. I was put to mental institution because of depression, panic attack and tremors. I have experience driving on a freeway and just hitting the wall or a big tree to end my life. One lesson I learned -- avoid any online dating sites esp. Match.com. If I could give a rating of -*******, I would do so. Be careful. I do not want anyone to go thru what I am experiencing now.
Tip for consumers:
Be careful especially to all the women. I don't want anyone to experience what I am going thru. My life will never be the same.

IF ANYONE IS CONSIDERING GOING ON MATCH.COM, DON'T.
It is the worst company. I didn't want to renew my subscription and when the time was up it charged my card on file the full amount and I did not even realize till it was too late. I called and was told they don't give refunds. This is how they make money. I am certain I cancelled my subscription in time but was still charged. I have cancelled it again and will now contact my bank to make sure it doesn't happen again. I will never use this company again and make sure I let others know there are better sites then match.com

I joined Match.com for 3 months. It was not particularly satisfactory in terms of getting responses to my emails but I had 2 dates and there are some "real" people on there. However I decided not to renew and proactively went into the account a couple of weeks before payment was due and elected not to renew.
About a week prior to renewal I was signing in and had a window offering me Boost and Connect by email for Free etc., as a "gesture of loyalty". I checked the box to accept. It is hard to recall but the layout (according to customer service) had another check box that I needed to click on if I no longer wanted to renew.
The subscription did not end, I discovered another £60 had been taken from my credit card without any consultation and therefore overriding the instruction I had previously made to cancel. The customer service people respond with the same phrasing about how I didn't check the box and have so far refused to refund my money or send me a screen grab of the offending box so I can at least see what I did wrong.
I am going to initiate a case with the small claims court to get my money back.
Beware!
Tip for consumers:
Be very careful what boxes you check and what "special favours" you accept

So, I have used this website a couple of times and the results are less than perfect. I am not particularly writing this review because of my own personal experience but rather to give a warning to people about Match.com's less than honest method of getting you to either sign up and or re-sign. I went for a six month subscription this last time mainly because of all the "messages and views" my profile was receiving. So I hit the ground running and tried it out. What you find is after you sign up all that goes away. In a good week I maybe communicated with one or two people if I was lucky. Towards the end of my subscription I decided this was it and I was not going to renew. What I find surprising is that after I let it go by some miracle woman are looking at me again and sending me messages all the time. Of course now I don't have the access to read these "messages". My point is Match.com is trolling me trying to trick me into re-submitting my subscription. I find this distasteful and regardless of what they might say they do this shady crap to get you to sign back up. So if you have signed up and let it go like myself and or are thinking of signing up to see why you are being checked out so much. Just beware its most likely them trolling your page trying to get you to join. I would recommend dating in the real world and not on these money making date sites.

Match.com is a Scam. Match is owned by Match Group, Inc. Match Group, Inc. also owns Tinder, Plenty of Fish, and OKCupid. All of these sites are Scams. My experiences has been that 95% of all Male Profiles are real, but only about 50% - 60% of Female profiles are real. The remaining profiles are Scammers or possibly even bait accounts placed by Match Group, Inc., to fool clients into thinking there are more members than there actually are. This is especially true in larger urban areas, like my area of Southern California. My main complaint about Match.com specifically is that it is a paid, account type web site, as opposed to others I've listed. If I'm going to pay for Matches and to browse, I expect there to be a higher standard of authentic accounts. Most of the fake accounts are clearly, and obviously fake. A lot of accounts even have profile photos modified with text, stating that particular users are not real. This is confusing because everyone is required to have Match.com pre-approve and authenticate both their profiles and photos before they are posted. I think a good old fashioned Class Action Law Suite would be a great solution to cripple this scam.

Hideous hideous hideous experience. DON'T BOTHER! So many fake (male) profiles of people trying to enter the UK and preying on women to help them. Lots of profiles with terrible spelling and grammar or just weird phrasing, let that be your first clue. Secondly, they are 'never married' and don't have any children (usually). They tell you that they are disappointed with the site and immediately want to exchange email/phone numbers. Don't do it. They will have used very handsome photos not of themselves too. Then when you want to cancel your subscription guess what, you are told to log onto the site homepage and when you do lo and behold, no connection to the server, over and over again, even though you can download any other page! This is obviously designed so that you give up or forget and they extract another payment from you. I just called them to tell them all this, Lesley hung up on me! Great! So, if you do want to leave you need to call *******494. This is another business built on greed and dishonesty.
Tip for consumers:
Beware of scammers (males who can't spell or use odd phrasing) beware of match.com UK who do everything in their power to not let you leave.

This website weasels you into buying a subscription and then you are unable to talk to anyone unless they purchase a subscription too. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR IT. THEY REFUSE A REFUND EVEN WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT THE MAJORITY OF USERS ON THIS SITE DON'T SUBSCRIBE AND YOU CAN'T TALK TO THEM. Unfortunately I was wanting to meet someone and i fell for the scam. I'm simply writing this so no one else does.
