I sat on the free trial for several days, considering whether I would join, during that time a got a message that I had one message I could answer for free. Attached to it was an email. I was so new to this, and excited to have taken this step. Anyways I paid for six months but upon the first day, this scammer had his hooks into me. Convinced me, that in order to work on a relationship, we should leave the site. For three weeks, loved bombed then, he said he wanted to send me something from over seas. He sure did, 148 long stemmed roses and a teady bear. Then 4 weeks, things started to get weird. He's asking me for 5000us. Now he's angry! I'm like I don't have that kind of money and a man that is able to send me that amount of flowers, doesn't need to be asking me for money. Then the extortion came, I was video you. I'm like so what. Not much of a video. But now I was scared. Had the police in the house, notified credit bureau, knew my identy meaning pictures have been stolen. Moneygram and western union notified. FDF Flowers, note they didn't return my call they promised. And then match... Fought with them at how they were putting members at risk with their site. Argued that they were aware that email was sent to me and that they should have notified me, I was at risk. Don't you think a flag would go up, joins one day and then the next gone. My life has been a mess for two months dealing with this ordeal. I was ready to love again and now I'm too afraid too. So much more to say, but you get the idea. It's not safe, from the young to the old, scammers are there and ready to bounce and match does nothing to protect you.

March 2018 Match.com is such a fraud. After taking time to create a profile and being specific about the type of men I was interested in meeting based on their questionnaire and my personal preferences they were still matching me up with men that were not compatible by any means. If I said It was important for me to meet a non-smoker, they would match me up with smokers. If I said I was interested in meeting men with the same religious preferences they were matching me up at high percentages with men who were either not religious or "other". If I stated that I was interested in a certain age or race you get the point. Finally, I figured I would ask for the remaining of my money back seeing that they were just matching me up with ANYBODY. I asked and they refused to do so. Before canceling my membership I received a notice from them asking if I would rate their site. I thought oh yasss, boy will I love to rate their fake site! I was honest in saying, that I would not recommend this site to anyone and I explained why. Well after that they got mad and the admin staff behind the scene which sees and controls everything you say and do instantly put a stop to anyone contacting me any further. I went from meeting 4 - 6 new men every other day, in which most were never my type but... However, after I gave them a poor online rating meeting anyone new immediately can to a halt and all conversation with new men contacting me was no more for weeks. When I approached them about it and told them I knew they were behind controlling who was able to contact me or not able to contact me, they, of course, denied it and the very next day there were 3 new men who reached out to me (yah right). Funny thing was the way these two men profile was worded you knew it was Match.com who sent me the fake conversation from members who didn't exist. They are so full of it and that's putting it very nicely. Don't waste your money it's really not worth the diasspoint.

I am from the "baby boomers era" and I have been divorced for 25 years. I have not had time to find a special someone because of a career and education. Now I am online looking at a number of dating sites. I came upon match.com and bought a 6 month membership. Remember I said I was a baby boomer in my 60s, which according to some consumer reporting agencies make up 25% of match.com subscribers or 2.5 million boomers. I need to make some things very clear; while I am in my 60s I exercise 3 times a week at a gym, eat healthy, jog, ride my bike, water & snow ski, bowl, play badminton, work on my lawns. I am 5'6" tall, and 132 lbs, my metabolic age is 49, and my BMI is 19.3. I want to share a quick story; about a month ago I accepted a day together with a 58YO lady. The next day I called her and her daughter wanted to know what I did to her mother. I told her what we did the day before. The daughter said her mother was resting and did NOT ever want to talk to me again, she said I was too active and needed that style woman. But here is the bite in the butt; I have been TOTALLY unsuccessful getting a date with a younger woman, who I probably would not kill from my active life style. Match.com wants matches age for age. Women in their 40s DON'T want men in their 60s; they want men in their 30s and early 40s. It is a shame that match.com and the women there don't understand there are finer things in life then just an age grouping. I will add; match.com customer service SUCKS! Match.com sends me daily a list of women that supposedly match my profile. I was pretty clear in stating I will NOT date out of my race, and I will NOT travel more then 25 miles. Obviously, they need a map and a colour chart! Maybe I am being much like the women I criticize, looking for a more youthful individual.

I signed up for a 3-month service and had a terrible experience with it. Today (12/11) I got an email from PayPal telling me that they Match charged my account $65.97 which I never authorized. I called Match customer service (which appears to be a call center somewhere overseas) and they were VERY RUDE. Each person I spoke with had an accent and was very difficult to understand. I asked to cancel this ReNEWED subscription and refund my money, only to be told that they could only refund $29.98. This is completely unexceptable - only 10 hours prior they could take my money and now they can't refund the whole amount. The 'girl' said there is nothing she could do, which is what she is told by her upper management! I asked to speak to her superviser - which took over 20 minutes to get on the phone- and she told me that her supervisor will tell me the same thing. Marlene was the supervisors name, and she was equally RUDE and very hard to understand and told me the same load of crap.

Match.com steals your money, and are more than happy to do so. No company has the right to automatically take your money and then only refund a portion of it. STAY away from this company and any company that will automatically take your money and NOT refund the full amount!

As I read through the list of other reviews for Match.com, I see that I am not the only one to have this experience. Which tells me the customer service responses are scripted and they will not budge to make the customer happy. I seriously hope the the powers that be at Match know what the hell is going on - Ha I am sure they do and they just don't care.

The kicker, I joined for 3 months and not 1 match! DO NOT USE THIS DATING SERVICE it is a scam! I don't even think half the people they have on their searches are even real - I would 'Like' someone and within 15 minutes it would show their profile is now 'Hidden" - this happened 4 times to me. I call BS on Match!

I signed up for a Match.com account because of their 'match guarentee' that says if you don't find someone within 6 months, you'll get another 6 months free. However, when the 6 months came around, and all the criteria had been met, I instead found myself charged over $120 from an automatic renewal fee. Apparently they sent an email that I never received, in which I had to accept the free 6-months. Since I never got the email, and thus, couldn't accept the free 6-month membership, they found that it made sense to charge my account instead. They didn't want to make me take the free trail (in case I didn't want to contiue the membership), but they didn't feel bad about charging me for another six months in lieu of the free trail, stating their 'nobel' cause, "For your convenience and to avoid an interruption in communication with your matches."

When I caught the charge, there was no refund, no prorated refund for the remaining months. No flexibility. No ethical approach.

I would never recommend Match. They are a money-making ploy with a few lucky people in the middle. Instead of using Match, I would recommend E-harmony. Or, for those of you who don't want to spend any money, try one of the free sites WITHOUT hidden charges. Tinder, for example! Just be forthright in your bio. No one likes sneaky people. You can't respect them.

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review. It kinda crushes my soul to do so. However, simultaneously, my blood is boiling. I feel taken advantage of and played. How I hate that feeling! I hate even more the fact that they refused to even try to make things right. I can't respect that. I can't respect Match.
