Match has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,207 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Match most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and fake profiles problems. Match ranks 652nd among Dating sites.
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.
Match.com is full of liars, and most of the women you email,( because they're fakes)won't even text you back, even if they are a subscriber, and you paid for the reply option. I blocked over 200 scammers, and no reply losers. The ones I did meet, didn't look anything like their photo. They looked like rejects from Fat Girl Farm.! You're better off going to a bar, or a strip club. These disfunctional idiots can't function in the real world, that's why they are on Match.com
Tip for consumers:
Save your money and avoid Match.com It's a waste of time and money.

Match.com is running a scam. They hide the cancellation option so that you can't find it on an iphone or ipad, and will not refund your money. They just read you the cancellation policy, which they keep repeating. I waited on hold for 25 minutes (because they had a heavy call load -- go figure!). Margarite B. And John were both difficult to deal with and refused to refund more than $18.

Match.com has a really bad refund policy. I suggest you don't try to get a refund after an automatic undesired renewal because you won't get it.
I have called other companies and it is logical that if the service is not being used a fair refund should be given to the customer.
The charge was $60 and only $7.98 was suggested as a refund when I emailed right after the charge took effect.
One thing this company is not taking on account is the network of new customers that will be lost due to my recommendation.
I would not recommend match.com to anyone.
Customer representatives were mean and not helpful at all.
I asked to speak with a manager and the rejected the petition.

I am not happy with the service as it seems 90% of the profiles are fake. As a single person looking for that one right match, this isn't working. My parameters have been installed, but I get profiles from all over the world. Your company needs to be way more aware of the fake profiles. AS a consumer to your site that I have paid very good money for - I deserve better service from you.

Seen the commercials on TV all the time so I figured I'd see what the hype was all about. I ordered one month subscription and it was like tossing my money in the toilet and flushing it. So far in the 3 weeks I've been a paid member I got less then 20 views. It's as if the only active members are spammers and scammers. I also hate how you can't use certain pictures as your default photo. Just stupid. What am I paying for here? This site is just worthless garbage and support will NEVER email you back. Funny thing is I did a sample test to see how many views a woman would get (without photo) and I got over 100 views in less then two days yet I can't even get to 20 views in 3 weeks. This site is just messed up. Go elsewhere if you are a male.

Reading over 2000 complaints I have tried to get a refund for 5 of the 6 months I have been billed for (only expected $19.99 Canadian a month not $162 US all at once). Bogus profiles, duplicates, etc. not happy at site at all. Have called several times:(
Only been a member for two days. I will consider joining class-action lawsuit if I do not receive a partial refund. Donna Greening

As a consumer I think that Match is one of the highest rated in my book. They provide a mot more security for their members. And yes, security initially costs, so what?! Not sure if I like it more or less than Mingle2day but I highly recommend Match and in my opinion one of the best dating sites.

I signed up for a month of Match a little over a week ago and it wouldn't let me verify my phone number for some reason, so my account was immediately locked. I can't do anything on desktop or mobile. I can't even delete my account if I wanted to. I have been emailing (they don't have a phone number you can call) their skeleton-crew of a support team back and forth for over a week now and they refuse to correct the problem. Because I am unable to use my account and because they refuse to verify my phone number, I have asked for a refund several times, but so far they have not even acknowledged my request. This used to be one of the most trustworthy sites in online dating, but it is sketchy at best these days and the UI/site experience doesn't even come close to modern apps like Hinge. I would strongly recommend proceeding with caution when subscribing to an account. You could have a similar random issue like me and have nobody to help you. If you can't cancel your subscription you would have to request your credit card company to block the transaction. Very unprofessional business. I would recommend a more modern dating app like Hinge. Definitely one of the worst customer experiences I have dealt with.

The site is full of scammers. How can you tell? Well, usually, the scammer will have only one photo posted (sometimes with a child) and he (or she) will be widowed. Their essays are canned as sound really flowery, like they should be on a Hallmark getting card. And, if you do strike up a correspondence, their emails will be loaded with spelling and grammatical errors which is indicative that English is not their first language. And they will always tell you that their account is about to expire and could you email them at joeblowatyahoodotcom. I swear all of there idiot scammers use Yahoo and they ALWAYS spell out their email addresses verbatim. Morons. Also Match does use "dead" profiles to entice people to join. I know someone em who once worked there and was told that this was common practice at Match.

As well as all the fakers and scammers, the website is practically unusable. Ads which cover the web page, slow upload, very poor search criteria, an insatiable desire to put you in touch only with people online at that moment, and hard to change that, the site is so unresponsive or will crash easily, unfriendly age band scale, people "chosen" for you nowhere near where you live. The women appear to be "non existent" liars and gold diggers, and the men are predatory liars. What more can you say. This is what this site attracts.

My 15 yr old thought it was 18.99 or something for one month and didn't read fine print. I was cared for 6 months, within 5 minutes she told me she made a mistake, I called match and they refused to credit my money back! Bad bad customer service, now I have a useless match.com acct because they are all fakes and mama's boys on that site

They charged me on their automatic renewal? So unethical and greedy for a useless site that doesn't deliver! Will never use it again and will never recommend to anyone. In fact it's so deplorable and the refund policy a joke, angered me so much to write them a review... Don't bother with this site, no one replies, or answers. No one messages or winks. I'm on zoosk get at least messages daily and massive views, so I know it is not me...
Good luck Matxh.com. Your going down, better sites and services out there. Your auto renewal policy will keep your clients angry and away..

My account has been taken over by someone else 3 times in 6 weeks. Spend most of my time trying to correct the problem. That and deleting messages from women I've never seen before that some are thousands of miles away. Tech support keeps telling
Me to change my password. Please, Even my financial institutions don't ask me to change my password every week. They are just trying to cover up their own technical incompetency. So I'm paying for something I can't even use. Also, I've noticed they like to keep old photo/profiles of women up even after they are long gone from this site. Just to make it look like they have a lot to chose from. My advice is to stay away
From Match.

I started out being honest about being a single mom of 4. I consider myself to be a pretty girl. I did get a lot of views but the only "winks" I had were from freaky older guys that were not my preference. I sent emails to a few guys I was matched with and never had a response. Then I decided to test if it was the fact that I was a single mom so I changed my summary and left that out... sure enough within minutes I had all kinds of winks and messages. These guys are looking for hot girls with no kids... good luck to them! Welcome to the real world!

I signed up for match.com. I hadn't dated in awhile so I filled out the profile questions and checked it every so often. First, let me say I have not paid a dime. Thank God. However, I found matches that we had 3 things in common (ie: felines, dining out, non smokers) but they wanted kids I did not, I did not match the body or ethnicity they were looking for. Then one day I met a real nice guy. We text, talked, emailed and IM. It ended with him asking me to send $400 for his daughter who was sick and needed medicine and food stuffs, he of course could not help because he was in the UK on business. He even stated if I did not have the money he could transfer said monies in my account. After finding out that was not going to happen and he was not getting a penny from me I never heard from him again. I think I will stick with the old fashioned way of meeting people or just be alone. I was much happier before when I was not seeing anyone than finding someone who was trying to scam me.

I hate Match!
My matches were too young or too obese. They renewed my membership without letting me know. All they care is about getting paid. Customer service was rude, unprofessional and uncaring. As a matter of fact, I almost got raped from one of their membersdid Match care? No!
Scam artists! Thieves!

In my opinion match. Cofm, is the best site for getting money out of me, without any results. 6 months was on the site and had no luck at all. Only website where not one person replied. Another thing I got tons of spam messages enticing me to become a premium member, once u signed up and replied not one the genuine girls "yeah yeah" replied.
I hear a lot of people say they've struck gold, but only thing I found was a rat trap.

I emailed customer service prior to the end of my subscription, notifying them that I wanted to cancel. I received an email reply confirming my cancellation and assuring me my credit card would not be charged. However, it was charged and I could not get any response from customer service when I attempted to contact them. It was considerable hassle to work with my bank to get the charge reversed. I will NEVER do business with match.com again and I would advise anyone else to avoid this site.

The negative online reviews are correct. This website is a scam they are just there to get your money. Watch out on match.com they $#*!ing auto renewed me and charged me for three months. Never sent a reminder email or anything. I thought i had already canceled, but turns out i missed deadline by 4 days. Spent over an hr on phone with customer service and 1st they refused to refund anything then finally they said they would refund 21. Worst customer service ever. Match.com is a $#*!ing scam nothing but $#*!ing creepy old dudes. I deleted everything the reviews online about it are right lol. They would not work with me at all. Worst customer service ever. Do not use this site.

As a recently single female I would not suggest this site. It is overwhelming the amount of messages you get that are completely sex based. I didn't get one offer for a date only hook up opportunities. I don't understand as I'm a legit dating opportunity. I felt like a total piece of meat when canceling my membership not like a lady. I received 50 messages within a couple of days but none were from people who wanted to date me. This was a crazy negative experience.

I recently discovered that Match is still supplying its services to Russia. This, by implication, supports the invasion of Ukraine. I posted this to several people on the site, and Match deleted my account. In other words, they do not want their clients to know and, in a manner consistent with Putin, have arbitrarily eradicated my attempts to speak out against their support for Russian aggression.

Absolutely the most frustrating company... they are scammers ripping ppl offf... my 3 month subscription expired months ago, haven't accessed the site because they said my prescription has run out... which I was happy about... now they just charges 6 months on my credit card... frigging scammers! And they just keep saying sorry... going to take them to the better business bureau... Everyone should report them... clearly they are a disgusting piece of $#*!...

I didn’t date yet and I would like to have it once. I realized that there are dating sites too from here. But most of the people are not satisfied with the services from Match.com yet. I am thinking that why people interfere in the personal matters of another person to make their business. This is the ever worst thing.

I cancelled my account two days before it expired and was still charged for an additional 3 months. Called Match and they told me I didn't do the cancellation correctly and they wouldn't refund my money. I checked the cancellation prompts on the Match.com website and there was nothing I could have done differently. They scam you on your billing so beware. To see many other people complaining says a lot about this company.

This online dating sight screwed me out of money. When I contacted customer service, they refused to help me in any way. I did not have luck on match.com, so I wanted to try another site. However, they charged me when my renewal was up anyway then refused to refund my money. Do NOT pay a dime for this website.
