Match has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,207 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Match most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and fake profiles problems. Match ranks 652nd among Dating sites.
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.
This site is horrible. Despite the fact that it allows for the addition of preferences I was contacted by a disturbing number of people that I specifically tried to filter out. I am only 23 years old and tried to filter for people in my age range, but guys in their 40s were able to message me and the site even recommended that I reach out to much older guys as well. The only reason why I signed up for an account in the first place was because I have multiple friends who married through dating sites and wanted to see if perhaps my beliefs in regards to online dating sites were unfounded but this site confirmed all of my worst suspicions. I cancelled my account within less than 24 hours after activating it and will never ever ever use this site again.

They let me pay $60 then shut down my account with no notice. I pay a lot of money only to get no notice even though I didn't break any guidelines. All I did was look for someone worthwhile and I get shut down with no notice when I did nothing wrong. Terrible site, terrible app, terrible customer service. Save your money tinder is more worthwhile than this crap!

After 5 days into a 3 month subscription I realized the emails telling me people were interested were bogus. I tried to cancel based on this fraud... no luck. I disputed the charges with my credit card. Match.com blocked me. A month later I am told I have to pay the 3 months, but I can't use their service (not that I want to) because I am blocked per the contract I signed if I contest their charges. So now I have paid $71.97 for a 3 month service with a company that has blocked my for 60 days. Fraud and deception!

I receive an email saying I could sign up for a 72 hour free trial with all emailing privileges and then would be billed afterwards if I didn't cancel. I sign up and send out an email and I'm billed thru Paypal for a 3 month subscription. I contact Match.com and they say I had automatic billing turned on and they turned it off, but would not refund me for the 3 months that I was just charged for. I explain how it was supposed to be a 72 hour free trial, and they say they don't issue refunds. I'm now disputing the charge with Paypal, but wanted to get it out there what a fraud they are!
Since writing this, Paypal did credit me the amount charged after disputing the charge with them. Love Paypal, hate match.com

I joined for a three month trial. Stayed on for a month. Quit two months early. So this website is super generic. They only ask you a hand full of questions. So everyone in terms is funny with a good sense of humor, haha. Then the majority of hot chicks have one pic and tell you to write them on your personal email account. If you want to upgrade your account any bit they want to keep charging you more. So the hot chicks are just fake profiles. I wish they would ask you to answer questions and recommend people that were compatible with you. Your placed in the whole pool of singles and fake profiles. Then have to filter though them all. Save your money. On this website. No customer service.

I actually got my money back after threatening to sue them and report them to the BBB for false business claims. Signed up and paid yet kept getting the worst and most inappropriate matches EVER. It made me want to get back with my ex-husband when I saw/"met"/talked to these "matches" - each one worse than the last. It did not matter that I had "must -haves ". The fact that in the end I even considered getting back with an ex who was not nice to me, a liar and my kids would have killed me if I had -- how is this a dating service?

I signed up for 6 month guarantee where if you don't find a Match in that time, you get an additional 6 months for free. I noticed after the 6 months that I was charged full price again. When I finally got a hold of the representative, she said you must notify Match a week before expiration of your intention to take advantage of the free 6 months.
In other words, you have to affirmatively tell them you want the free subscription that you already signed up for and earned! I asked why anyone decide to pay full price for something they're already entitled to for free?! No answer. No refund. Complete scam

I don't recommend it because the level of women's activity there is low. The site doesn't care about your search criteria and matches you with women who are not in your age group or those who live too far. But even these women are not responsive. I also use another site - one with Ukrainian girls, and I see that it has more women than men and women contact men first and I really like it because I don`t have to go through long and useless search, it`s just so simple to choose from those ladies who write me first, because I know they are interested in me.
And on match.com there are lots of dead profiles, obviously they registered on this site years ago and aren't interested in this search anymore. It's such a waste of time to write hundreds of letters until you finally get some kind of response!

I thought I as paying for a $23 a month auto renewal subscription for one year. YES, I made a mistake and should of read the details of the plan. They charged me $431 plus tax which came out to a total of $580 for a one year subscription. After I had realized how mush was deducted from my account ( 10 minutes after the transaction took place) I cancelled my subscription. I called Match.com and they refused to refund me the money. I cancelled my credit card. $580 GONE. Seriously, I doubt match.com would even be worth $580 for one year subscription, unless it is one prestigious dating site. I am beyond upset, and I feel like an idiot for allowing myself to be robbed by these scammers.

The site is not clear on authorization of charging options. It didn't give me many options for guys so I stopped using it and figured three months were done. Geez. I didn't realize until three extra charges later that I was continually being charged! I complained and got one charge removed. I got robbed $140 from match.com

I was auto renewed when I didn't want the service. I asked for a pro rated refund thinking it was a fair compromise. They refused.
When you sign up but don't pay, they will bait you in with lots of emails and attention, most of it seemed bogus.
I had used and discontinued my account from a year ago, I asked it to be deleted and I still received emails from women, so they did not delete my account as requested. I'm a private person and don't appreciate that.
I wouldn't use them again in the future, seems like a scam and they got me for $75.

Match.com refuses to allow you to suspend your account due to the death of a close family member. You can hide your profile or cancel but they still keep all the money. They are a heartless company with no respect for humanity.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use it!

I was one of the better profiles on match.com and they kept my status as online. Even when I logged out, turned off my phone and computer, disconnected my internet, my friend said I was still online. When I mentioned this in my profile, match.com removed the entire comment about keeping the better profiles online. Sounds like proof enough that match.com is doing this to entice more users to pay and not because there are legitimate people actually online.

The first guy was just a negative person altogether. The second guy tried to scam me. Talk about wasting a month of my life to him. He went by the name of "Flash". Claimed to be a geologist and had a website. He looked legit enough. Then he asked me for money after being "robbed". I took the picture he gave me and had it checked out at Google Reverse Image Review and found that he had 3 other "names" at other websites. Watch out for him!

My profile was stolen 3 times, I was impersonated then harassed by woman that thought I was the impersonator. I email Match 6 times to not one reply, finally I got anther nasty email form some woman and my account was locked out. I was kicked off after a year on the site. After making real connections that I had no access to and spent time with a very detailed profile these incompetents took this way to resolve an issue that was mine, I was the victim. They suck as a business and customer service not to mention protecting there members.
Tip for consumers:
Use POF.com

I joined about 6 weeks ago. I have gone on 3 dates with 3 different men in my area. I had a good time on each date. One of the men seemed a little too old for me, one talked about his ex-wife, and the other drunk dialed me last night, lol. But I still think going on the dates was better than sitting at home. I'm currently taking a break from it. I know people who have found matches on there. One of my friends did find a picture of a man with 3 different names and profiles. I think sticking to people in your own area is the best way to eliminate fakes. I went on there with no expectations other than to have fun, which it believe is the best way to approach dating anyway. People should be aware of the automatic renewal practice.

Match will notify you like there is someone interest in you. After you answer their questions they require you to register and select a membership. When you write stuff, they change it or delete it to suit them. So I have unsubscribed too many times to count and I still get messages, Finally, I got smart and blocked them. Who needs to be notified about non-existent women

This is the worst dating site I have ever been on. I have been on free dating sites and met better girls that I actually matched with. I signed up for a six month subscription, and tried to get a refund. I talked to some foreign manager douche bag, and he gave the whole disclaimer bull-$#*!. I think you should refund people some money if you provide a bad service and you can not help them, or better yet, you should go out of business like a so-called reputable company should. I have months left, and I am not going to waste my time to even go back on it. I just want my money back at this point, and would like match. Com to be taken off the internet for extortion.

Rubbish - don't do it! You can't cancel it! They don't answer the phone- no
Matter what option you choose - there is no one to speak to - ever! They say the only way to stop it auto renewing from an iPhone is to do it from settings - subscriptions- it's not there in my list. I paid £60 the first time for 6months, I used it for all of 2 weeks - it's was rubbish and even though I thought I'd cancelled it it then it auto renewed and charged me £119.34! I went to PayPal who came back saying that my refund had been declined! Steer well clear of this money machine!

I may be a little biased here, but match.com did the trick. I met my husband on there 6 years ago. It's a bit ridiculous, but after waiting for someone to fall in my lap I had to finally do a little work. Yes, it's work. Dating online is by turns depressing, hilarious, interesting and emotional. You'll meet some nice people, although they might be nice for someone else. But hey, it's the best way to stay in practice and meet people instead of watching re-runs of The Bachelor in your sweatpants. You may meet your match, you may not, but at least you can say you tried.

I took on the one month script, after that I got nowhere, so I canceled my prescription. At least I thought I did, until I went over my credit card statement. They have an auto renewal that will start you over every month. You have to go to another location just to cancel your money from being deducted from your account. I call to ask for a refund for the few months that was seen not active, and was denied. This is how Match makes their money. I lost out on both ends. This sight did not help me with a Match and took my money behind my back, would not return it and all I got was a sorry have a great day, LOL. Keep this in mind when using MATCH.COM

This website is so bogus. Profiles that are non active. Profile pics that resemble wanted posters or have been hijacked from another site. Most of the men are angry and bitter old men (over 50YO) who get off playing games or who are on there just for the "hookup ". Don't waste your money or time on this site.

Was sure my account expired on 5/19, but did not get a discontinued notice but that something was wrong and my account had to be fixed. This is May 16. I clicked a button to send a reply and Presto, Pay Pal was charged, I called PayPal within in 5 minutes and they said No, it couldn't be undone. I called Match, *******824 and they do not do any refunds. AT ALL!. What a rip off. And the men they send? Awful!
Do NOT use tis company... you will do better on the free site: Plenty of Fish. I am writing Their Corporate office at PO Box *******, Dallas TX *******
No wonder they only have 1 star for Customer Satisfaction. Don't do business with this site.

I have had really good luck. I have found a few truly good men,, just not the one for me. I am currently dating someone for a month and, still see him on the site every day. Does anyone out there want to bait him and,, see what he is upto for me? I would be happy to return the favor.

I am an attractive 25 year old woman, I am a gym freak and athletic. I decided to join Match because I thought there would be more serious men on there. My inbox was filled with messages from men age 40-60 and most of them for a hook up! Money is not a problem for middle aged married men looking for a side fling and it is scary how many of these types of men you have on here! Most of the attractive men were in their late 30s and either recently divorced or with kids. Found no decent guy under the age of 30! I received almost no message from any guy in my age group. I wish I knew this before I paid the subscription! Very disappointed!
