Match has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,207 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Match most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and fake profiles problems. Match ranks 652nd among Dating sites.
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.
Everything cost money you cannot get features without paying extra and canceling your subscription is extremely difficult. It will automatically renew your subscription even if you cancel it and getting your money back will never happen you can give them a confirmation code a date a time a picture of when you cancelled it and they still will not refund you the only way that you can stop the further charges is to cancel your credit card that you use to sign up for match.com

Match has a feature to terminate your membership. You think you have terminated your membership because you click CANCEL, but in fact you have not cancelled. Until you go through the hoops of answering questions, you are not in fact cancelled. It's misleading and fraudulent.

I've purchased my match through Groupon and they had my cc info not match. I tried to cancel my subscription through the app and it shows you how but doesn't allow you to get to your account settings on the app. I didn't think they would recharge me through groupon and they did. It was then I had deleted the app I then had to go back in and found the settings tab. Only if you delete the app and go back and sign in is the account settings there. Customer service is over seas and are rude. They offered less than half of the amount charged. When I asked for a supervisor go figure there is no supervisor to speak to. Never again!

I was a Match.com member and I completed my guarantee period which entitled me to a free six month extension of my membership. Match.com charged my card anyway. I disputed the charge with my bank and Match.com took action! They closed my account, blocked me and banned me forever. They refunded the charge, but I lost my free six month service extension. All I wanted to do was prevent Match.com from illegally stealing my money. The facts speak for themselves. There aren't enough adjectives to describe how incompetent and deceitful they are!

Nothing against the site... But, pleassseee... I don't even check the site, I have not ever registered... Then why I keep getting all these emails from them? Hello! I don't want to meet anyone... I don't know how many times I have unsubscribe at the bottom info in the email... Like I said, nothing against the site... just respect that not everybody likes to meet other people online.

I stupidly signed up for a year. I have met someone off line and haven't even been on the site a month. I have to pay for the entire year. Stay away from this site. Way to many glitches on the mobile site and took forever to approve photos.
Horrible, horrible service!

Match.com's process and customer experience is nothing short of fraud. It is almost impossible to upload an "approved" profile picture. I have quite a few photos in my profile yet after taking my money, they will not approve my profile picture! I receive notices that this person and that person have liked my profile, have sent me a message and yet I cannot reach out, reply or anything, EVEN with my PAID subscription, because MATCH.COM has sole discretion with my profile picture and I'm just out of luck, and money. It seems to me that if I AM the one paying, I should be the one who decides which picture is my profile, and I should be allowed to read and respond to other members, regardless of whether or not I have a profile picture. Members can message me without my profile picture, why can't I respond back? I am 100% convinced that the majority of match.com's revenue is coming from members who are unable to use their service, which to me, is FRAUD. I mean, where is the harm in allowing members to communicate and respond without having a profile picture? Save your money. There are much better dating apps / services out there. Match.com makes so much money off this fraudulent practice that there is no reason for them to change this. I'm surprised they are allowed to continue.

Buyer Beware

I give them 0 stars. A profile was set up that I did not know about and it was my profile. Obviously they had no clue that I've already got charges on someone for taking my debit card. And getting on sites and paying for sites. I emailed and told them I wanted my money back and told them that I did not do that. And all that I was How old was to remove my profile they have no intention of refunding my money. This was on match.com. I do not recommend this website to anyone. They are CROOKS

The site is a scam! I have been a member for several months, and before I subscribed I had winks from very attractive girls. After I paid for the subscription those girls would not respond to my messages or disappeared from sight altogether. After subscribing I only got Winks and responses from unattractive girls. I ended my subscription and then started getting winks from attractive girls again. The site leaves profiles up after their subscription has ended so they can promote their site by saying that have millions of members. I called customer service and they were not helpful and unable to resolve my problem or answer any of my questions. I believe that they also do notalways let communication happen between members so that they can keep the members longer. Once their members meet somebody they quit paying for the subscription so they don't let them actually meet

Dont waste ur time and money

I tried this site. There is something strange the profiles on this site. You have no idea how old the profile is, nor if the profile is active. I wrote 100's of messages and NEVER ever got one response... Hmmmm. Something's not right here. I had a 1 year subscription... Not 1 response? FYI... I am 5'9", 170 lbs, and NOT ugly at all. Although I am an older gentleman, in 50's.

Haven't been on the site in over a year and just decided to call in to cancel and get a prorated refund... forget it... they don't give refunds at all but... they tell you they will not bill you on the next billing cycle... what a joke of a company! Plus... only met weirdos on the site while I was active... what a waste of time and money. This kind of company policy to not give refunds or prorated refunds is incredibly distasteful. I will continue to put this on every review site I can find...

Almost all of the people contacting me use the same profile description with different photos. Complete frauds. The website has poor search functions and matches you with people who wouldn't drive within a thousand miles of you. Lame.

Somehow MATCH.COM has an auto renewal on my 80 year old father. He called twice after I told them he was being charged and I called them to cancel. They said they cannot cancel the order. Taking advantage of the Eldery!

I decided to try Match.com and found after 3 months that it wasn't for me. Most of the men that contacted me were either still married or just wanted a hookup. So I cancelled my subscription at least so I thought. Three months after I cancelled my membership another charge for $119.94 showed up on my credit card. I tried to get it reversed through match and they refused to give me a refund. I had to do a dispute through my credit card company. I thought my nightmare was over until another $119.94 charge showed up on my credit card again 6 months later. I tried calling them and got the same poor customer service and refusal to give me credit when I was not using the account. Once again I had to go to my credit card company to get my credit. I would not recommend this sight to anyone who is looking for a real relationship. Most of the men on there are looking for hook ups.

I am in the process of canceling. I realized it was not what I paid for after 1 day. I signed on just 2 days ago for a year bundle. I thought that the per month charge was only going to be charged each month and that I could stop it anytime within a trial period. I was charged for a whole year. Money that i can not afford... this has taken my grocery money for the month. I need a swift kick in the pants for not fully understanding how this deceitful company works at getting money from unsuspecting dopes like me. I can not read when the words are in all caps, or in gray print. I have visual problems with certain colors. I will call my bank today and they will get me results. I have a personal banker that help me and knows of my disability with fully understanding what I read. Oh and I can not read fine print, did not know there were any, until I read some of the companies reviews.
Tip for consumers:
1 star is 1 star too high. If you can not read the fine print or when the text is in gray, have someone else go over the terms of service with you, Please!!!

Tried many dating sites and apps and it takes a lot to beat match, mingle2day and cupid. Those sites ain't perfect but they work. Wasted too much time on other sites and apps and trust me, it ain't worth it. Two of my last relationships were found on online dating sites, and met my last girlfriend on match. Don't get why everone else not happy with it.

I joined on April 9th and got no responses from anyone that met my criteria. Instead, I got contacted and matched with men who were outside of my age, distance and race preferences. I was even contacted by people with fake profiles. My experience was horrible.
I tried for a week, to see if there would be any improvement, but there wasn't so I contacted their lousy customer service to cancel. I was also charged $77 for three months of service. When I called to see about a refund, even for two of the three months, they refused. I even spoke with a supervisor. Still no success.
DO NOT USE THIS SITE! It is horrible and they will not refund your money.

Fake profiles created by the website administration. So when you join you pay much for fake profiles, you got matches that unreal, they try to attract you in all potential methods, when you pay, you are the victim.

Match.com offers a FREE 3 day subscription to anyone. Anyone can post a picture of anyone they want claiming that it is them and then in their profile they can type out their personal e-mail address. If you e-mail them then you set yourself up to be scammed. I got scammed out of $6,500. SocialSex.com is a joke. I signed up twice for a one month mebership... about 10 months between sing ups and found the very same pictures the second time as the first. Never met anyone. AdultFriendFinder.com is also a joke because you will NOT meet anyone.

STAY AWAY from match.com. I should have read reviews before trying to sign up for a free trial. They asked for my credit card and it said I would be charged ONLY after free trial, but charges were debited within half an hour. I canceled within one hour and after 10 phone calls and mutliple emails, I had to give up and let these $#*!s keep my money. I have now resolved to spread the word far and wide. STAY away from this company.

I had a free profile on Match for months and decided to try a paid subscription. Within days my profile was hacked and my profile was changed, moved from man seeking women to woman seeking women and a strange woman's picture was put up. I moved the profile to hidden and tried to change my password but couldn't. I e-mailed Match to try to get this resolved and they terminated my account. When I asked why they simply said that I would need a court order to find out, or tough we're not telling you. They claimed that I would get a full refund but I will believe that when I see it. They clearly don't care at all about paying customers unless they are stealing their money.

They send you people that are interested but they havent been on the site since their free trial is over. I complained and they sent me ssupposed proof of notes sent to me from the last ten years. I did a free trial then. So i actually paid and its same guy that are on free plenty of fish and 99 percent of the profiles are even real or active members they send matches from that pool. They say that shouldnt happen all lies 3 months havent for one real live person. Huge waste of money.

Match sends pictures of the same women over and over again. Tried to contact some with no response. I specified that I wanted to meet healthy athletic women. Keep getting obese rest home dwellers. I was informed by one Match member who I had some contact with that Match was using her profile and picture after she had canceled. I believe that most of the desirable women that Match sent me are not still using the site. Match sends contacts and after sending them a "like, their profile never shows any online activity. They are not current members, but Match will send their picture and profile over and over again. It is a total waste of time and money.
Tip for consumers:
Site sends pictures and profiles of women who are not active on the site.

Why a 3 star? Well the price is bs but, the promise is that you will meet at least one person with the guarantee price provisions. So pay it and you will meet some one. This site does have fake accounts but the real ones will chat with you. First night I paid, I met a young lady and I couldn't be more pleased with that.
Tip for consumers:
Pay the guarantee price. 6 month or 3 month. They have to give you a free 6 months if you don't meet someone.

The site is full of fake profiles, scammers and phishers. Your login and password works to enter the site, but does not work to modify your account settings - so you can't change payment arrangements. I had to cancel my credit card to stop match.com automatically extending my 'subscription'. There is no response from 'customer care'(less) to emails. Don't register. Don't subscribe. Don't pay. Don't bother
