Match has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,207 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Match most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and fake profiles problems. Match ranks 652nd among Dating sites.
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.
Match when free has good matches who respond once in a great while. Lots of romantic scammers out there though. When you pay they send photos to you of old years back customets. When you do not pay they send the latest but they do not let you respond to them unless you pay them. They have a choke collar on you. This is a very bad daring site.
Tip for consumers:
What things on the site mean.

I thought I was paying for a month, something I could afford, just to interact. My card was charged for half a year. I couldn't get my money back because they won't refund. "You accessed the site," they said. Sure, and they told me to do that so that I could retrieve my member number when I called for the refund. This is truly a scam and a rip-off. I had used the service in the past and had no success so I quit. My recent payment was because I thought it was a different match service. What a costly mistake. What jerks!

My account got hacked! Some lady put two photos on my profile, messaged a whole lot of people, 'liked' people I wouldn't of 'liked', and then blocked a whole bunch. Not a very secure site apparently. I called Match to try to get a refund and they flat refused. Be very cautious.

Ladies, stay away from tried8000names on Match.com. HIs name is Richard Hatley and he lives in stupid Flower Mound texas (loser town just like him). He is a manipulative, cheating, liar and a sorry excuse for a man. His profile is full of $#*! and he is NOT looking for "the one" serious relationship. He thinks he's funny and is about as boring and stupid as they come. To top it off, he is fat and has boobs bigger than most women. After he's lied his way into your heart pretending he really really likes you, he will use you, disappear and make you feel like $#*!. He is always on match and always looking - sorry excuse for the male species. Match is a HORRIBLE place to meet a partner - you'll meet PLAYERS!
Tip for consumers:
Don't do it!

Signed up for 6 months. The whole time all I got were messages from fake profiles wanting me to contact them outside of Match then their profile would disappear. After 6 months, when my free 6 months kicked in, I was charged for another 6 months. After arguing for weeks, I finally had to have my bank reverse the charge. Then I started having issues with my account. My account was blocked, and I inquired why. Match couldn't tell me. During 2 weeks of being blocked, I was informed of a violation of terms, WHILE I WAS BLOCKED, and my account was terminated. When I inquired why, I was told they could not tell me anything about my account because of their privacy policy. The account is still there and it still shows as being active but, I have no control over it. It looks like the stories of Match keeping terminated profiles active is true.
Tip for consumers:
Don't give them any money. Don't give them any credit card info. Don't even make a free account. They will keep it active when you leave and block you from it if you protest. The whole site is made up of thousands of fake profiles.

I used this site 9 years ago with great fare. Signed up this time, paid for a 6 month subscription. There are literally no people on the site who are active; at least in the US or who aren't a scam. After aspiring two mail order brides and a scammer who asked for $3k within 4 days of speaking to me I tried to cancel and get a refund for 5 months (felt that was fair as I used the service for 15 days). They refused to refund anything "because I used the site". No service guarantees, no customer service. Was hung up on twice by their "service" reps. Ended up disputing the charge with my credit card company and when i went to the BBB to file a complaint low and behold their accreditation was revoked.

Seniors beware. Match.com / SuccessfulMatch.com and Senior Match.com are all scams if you are really serious about finding a mate. There are GLITCHES in their system and their customer service people who monitor the system just do not care. They just want your money. Do not waste your money on this website.

They banned my account after one day of using it because they somehow gained the impression I wasn't single. Why would I be using this site if I wasn't single? Furthermore, what possibly gave them this impression after a single day of use? I'm single and yet they inexplicably banned my account because they think I'm married or something? Seriously? Avoid this service! They will ban you and steal your information for whatever nefarious use they have planned. I wouldn't trust this company, they have become beyond sketchy.

They got me too on the auto renewal when I was sure I had turned it off. They wouldn't refund because I also didn't receive any notice that I was on a new subscription and I had sent one person an email so the new subscription had been "used", fortunately I used PayPal to pay and I was able to successfully dispute it. Match locked my account, but oh well, it wasn't worth another ~$180, it wasn't worth the first! I'm actually glad because it spares me from the temptation of going back on there.

I canceled my subscription 3 months ago and was charged today. They refuse to issue a refund, and it's a copy and paste refusing to listen to what happened. I was only able to talk to 1 outsourced phone representative and then was told to email somoeone. I wrote them what exactly happened, and then got a copy and pasted response about the no refund. I will never ever use this site again. Absolutely appalling.

Here is one thing that upsets me. A gorgeous young woman sends me a like that hits my email. I click on that immediately and say WOW! Then I check and the site says "profile not available." What? I just got the message!? So clearly a typical bait and switch attention-getter but false advertising. So then I wonder... other women rarely respond. I'm not that ugly, I'm not that rude, I'm not that... But maybe 1 in 20 reply. Some rejection I can take! But... really... If I can't trust the one... can I trust the other? I think not.

They are crocks. I've received charges on my credit card a year after I cancelled. I deactivated my account and a year later my credit card received new charges for services. They refuse to give a refund, because they said I didn't deactivate when there was a record of me calling to deactivate the account.

After at least two years of off-and-on subscriptions, I had had enough and thought I had cancelled automatic renewals, which they say are "for your convenience." About 3 or 4 days after my subscription should have lapsed, I realized that my subscription seemed to be still in effect, although they had not notified me of billing me for a new subscription period. I tried to contact customer service, but it was Friday after 4 p.m. PST, and their offices are only open during business hours CST, M-F! After difficulty even finding a phone number, I called them on Monday, and was told me that a refund was "blocked" because I had sent ONE message (to be sure my subscription was still in effect). They refused to refund the UNUSED PORTION of my subscription (two months and three weeks) for the same silly reason, as if computers are unable to calculate the portion remaining. It's another dating SCAM.

I joined Match.com the evening of Feb 14,21. I could not access my account on the 15 or 16th. On the 17th I was informed my account was terminated without any reason. I had never even been on the site after joining.

I would give it zero stars if I could! It's a con company that makes money by trapping you into auto-subscription, putting you on auto-renewal and adding bogus charges. They are full of sockpuppet accounts, It's all about scam and catfishing. Match doesn't give a damn about their reputation. They started as a good site and they were rapidly growing. But now it's a rubbish site, with basically no customer service. They don't care if you are scammed, moreover, I'm pretty sure they know about all this scam going on on their site and they encourage it.

His name is kjdlittlebug. Alan G. Edmondson. Age 58 Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada. I transferred money from his business account to 2 banks with different beneficiaries. I'm not sure if it's a money laundering scam. He said he was working on an oil rig in Seattle. His company name is Bluescope Construction and he said he was Hungarian, widower, and had a daughter and 2 grandchildren in Tennessee where he supposedly also had a house.

Complete ripoff, fraud of a site. Had no access to my paid subscription. They wouldn't help and refused to refund. Their Customer service number had no live agent, their chat takes hours to respond but even when they do they're unhelpful. Paid for a membership on Dec 2, today is Dec 6, and they refused to refund me but was fine about canceling the paid membership. Dont get scam, stay away from this site!

I am not one to complain and overall the site is very good and easy to get around however the men on there are so far from one perspectoius to the other end of the scale but I think a lot of males r using the site like pof and pmf just to get a one night stand rather than really dating. Men r rude crude and impatient on the site as an example of the types that use the site.
My advice don't do dating sites get out there meet people face to face

Tons Of players currently on scum pond POf jumping ship onto a paying site making women believe that because they are paying, they are serious about a relationship. They are so desperate for sex they will do whatever they can to get laid because they can't any other way! All creepy perverts, low-lives. BEWARE a user called

I signed up for six months at $131.00 thinking this was a legit dating site. After 48 hours every lady I contacted, or who contacted me turned out to be from Ghana, or the Ukraine, or somewhere OTHER than their profile!
I emailed asking for a refund. No reply... After a few more days, and MANY more bogus contacts, I was told I needed to call a number for a refund. When I called the number, I was told there's a NO REFUND POLICY! PERIOD!
Screw their cute commercials, and fun advertising, this site is a pure, 100%, rip-off...
Don't go there!

Didn't subscribe and i am glad i didn't. I got pictures of men i truly wasn't in color, height, and social stuff. What a waste of money it would have been. Post your pictures and then ugly comes from all sides. Its terrible that they prey on you for money and all you get are pictures or so called connections with someone that you aren't interesting in. This dating site sucks.

I have used Match.com on and off for 3 years. I like the features offered, but the last few times, had trouble accessing my email. When I called the company and said that if I couldn't read or send emails, I would want a refund as I had spent time with a customer service rep trying to fix it to no avail. I spoke to another rep and he was nice enough, but he said he couldn't refund my money eventhough I couldn't use my email at Match. He referred me to a supervisor, who wasn't nice or patient and was told by him that they would not do a refund even if I couldn't access my mail. I am done with Match.com!
